After that day Lakea really felt that she could move past all of her pain and get better. She and Daniel continued their therapy, which helped them to work past a lot of issues. They were stronger than ever. Five months later, in September the police released Mesha's personal belongings and Aunt Violet found a recording she made on her cell phone, minutes before her and Cortez were hit and killed by a drunk driver. In the video Mesha and Cortez were so happy as they rode down the street in his new car. Cortez' wife had finally signed the divorce papers, so he and Mesha planned to get married the following month. Mesha also revealed on the tape that she was pregnant with their first child.
Tears streamed down Lakea's face as she sat on her aunt's couch looking at her cousin's beautiful face on her cell phone.
“Yes cousin. June! I am pregnant, and Cortez and I are getting married.” Mesha said as she and Cortez squealed and laughed.
Mesha flashed her huge, diamond ring in front of the camera before turning it back on her face.
“Soooo, I just made this video to put on Facebook and let all the people I love know at one time that I am pregnant, about to get married, and HAPPY!” “Oh and to my best friend, my cousin, my ace, my June. Girl you will never know how much I love you and admire you.” “Girl you are the strongest person I know, and I would only hope to be as half as strong as you are someday.” “Witcho singing and writing ass. You gone be writing for Drake and K. Michelle in a minute.” Mesha said laughing.
Lakea sobbed and looked at her aunt whose face was also wet with tears.
“Keep writing forreal cuzzo.” “Well anyways, I love you all, especially my mama! Love you Ms Violet, you sexy thang you. And my daddy, my Big BAM!” Mesha said laughing hysterically.
“But forreal, I'm out y'all. 100!” Mesha said and then the video froze on one half of her beautiful face.
Lakea looked into her eye and saw that sparkle. She knew her cousin had found that love she longed for. Suddenly the phone blinked and the tape went off. Lakea smiled to herself. It was a bitter sweet moment because even though she still missed her cousin and wished she was there with her, she was at peace knowing that at least she was happy in her last hours of life. That video, even though it was sad, it had helped Lakea to pull herself higher than she had ever been and start to truly live. She decided to work with Maleek Meight and she went in the studio to write for a major artist's entire album that October. Lakea's song was a huge hit and she began to make a lot of money. That November Quan finished school with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and moved to Atlanta. Ray-Ray and his family were right behind Quan after he and Bianka got married on Thanksgiving, leaving Lakea and J-J in Memphis with Daniel. Lakea wasn't sad though. She Skype'd and talked on the phone with her brothers everyday. They all were still close and would remain close from a distance until Lakea and Daniel moved to Atlanta too.
Chapter 14
On Lakea's 25th birthday that year, Daniel made it official by asking her to marry him in front of everyone at Christmas dinner. Lakea cried tears of joy as she cried and accepted the new, bigger ring Daniel slipped on her finger as she covered his face with kisses. Lakea and Daniel decided to get married right away so they set the date for late May the upcoming year. Lakea had her mama, Nia, and Nika around to help her plan and get everything right for her wedding. Lakea wished her best friend could be there to see that day. As her wedding approached, Lakea missed Mesha more and more, but she knew that she was smiling down on her from heaven saying, “Girl please. You better suck up them tears June and marry Daniel’s fine ass.”
Lakea had to smile at that thought. She knew that she was making her cousin proud and living up to that promise she made Jeremy. Her life had moved on and she was living well.
Lakea and Daniel's wedding was beautiful. Ivory and purple flowers lined the ceiling of the church and Lakea wore a beautiful, ivory princess gown with a 6-foot train. Jacob walked her down the isle to her new husband and gave his daughter away with tears in his eyes as she kissed his cheek and told him how much she loved him. There relationship was better than ever and having him there meant the world to Lakea. She was so happy, and nervous. The butterflies in Lakea's stomach did their crazy flutter dance up into her heart once again, making her feel light-headed. When Decon Brown said the words, “I now pronounce you man and wife,” Lakea felt as if she was reborn.
She felt as if her life was starting all over. All of the demons of her past were gone and all she could see was her son, her husband, and their future together. Lakea and Daniel danced the night away at their reception and when it was all over they kissed J-J good-bye, leaving him with Felicia as they boarder a plane to Jamaica to start their honeymoon.
Lakea and Daniel were exhausted when they got to Jamaica the next morning so they went straight to bed. That evening Lakea awoke from her jet lag and stepped out on to their private balcony overlooking the beach. Lakea felt like an all new woman as she stood against the rail with her eyes closed, letting the cool breeze off the ocean caress her skin. Daniel heard her get out of bed so he followed her on to the balcony in his boxers and nothing else.
“Well good evening my darling wife. It seems we have slept an entire day away.” Daniel said wrapping his arms around Lakea's waist and kissing her on the neck.
“I see.” Lakea replied while giggling.
“Well, you know we never consummated our marriage, so technically you're still Ms Lakea Johnson. You're not Mrs. Daniel Wright until you... GIVE ME THAT BOOTY!!” Daniel said jokingly as he playfully grabbed Lakea's ass cheeks as she giggled and poked her ass out.
“Come and get it daddy!” Lakea said in a serious and seductive tone, wrapping her arms around Daniel's neck and kissing him.
She was ready to be with her husband and let him love all over her. Daniel snatched the towel off of one the patio chairs and laid it on the ground, keeping his eyes locked on his beautiful wife. Daniel grabbed Lakea's hand and gently pulled her down to her knees.
“I want you baby. I need you.” Daniel whispered in her ear.
“Right here on the balcony?” Lakea asked Daniel as he slipped the pink, silk gown she was wearing over her head and threw it on the ground, revealing her nakedness.
“Umm!” Daniel moaned, kissing her neck.
“Yes, right here under the stars, just like God intended.” Daniel said slipping his boxers off and lowering his body on top of Lakea.
Daniel kissed all over Lakea's face as a tear fell from the corner of her eye.
“Why are you crying baby. Are you scared?” Daniel asked stopping.
“NO!” Lakea said wrapping her arms around him and pulling him back down between her legs.
She could feel the heat from his body and his nine and a half inch dick pressing up against her clit. Lakea felt her pussy get wet, but she didn't feel the lust that she felt with Keyshun. This she was feeling was passion, love.
“I'm just happy baby. I love you so much.” Lakea said as tears ran from her eyes and Daniel dropped a few tears of his own.
Daniel kissed Lakea deeply and with so much passion that her heart felt as if it would explode. He entered her with ease as they passionately thrust their naked bodies together. Daniel rubbed Lakea's hair and stared into her eyes telling her how much he loved her and how much he needed her. Lakea grinded her hips and dug her freshly manicured finger nails into Daniel's back as he continued to dig deeper and deeper inside of her.
“Ohh, I love you. I love you more than life itself.” Daniel moaned.
“Yessss, ummm. I love you too baby.” Lakea moaned as they thrust their bodies together faster, and with more passion.
After about 20 more minutes of passion they were covered in sweat as they both let out a long, “Ohhhhhhh”, climaxing together.
They both laid there silent, breathless, and in each others arms. Lakea and Daniel lay there looking up at the sky as a single star shot across the night sky.
“Make a wish.” Daniel whispered into her ear kissi
ng her.
“It already came true.” Lakea said kissing him back and they both lay there talking and enjoying each others company until the sun came up.
The next two years after marrying Daniel were the best years of Lakea's life. He career as a song writer was taking off, her husband's businesses were thriving, and everyone in her family was happy and living well. Felicia and Decon Brown had gotten married, and he was becoming the pastor at his own church. Things were great in Lakea's life and only getting better because on June 30th Lakea found out that she was 8 weeks pregnant with her and Daniel's first child. Despite what doctors had told her, love had healed her wounds and allowed Daniel's seeds to grow. October of that year Lakea, J-J, and Daniel moved to an affluent part of Atlanta in a condo and her life really began to take shape. Lakea couldn't believe how once again her life had gone from one extreme to the next.
Lakea had gone from the lowest point in her life to a place so happy, and filled with so much love that she woke up each day with a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Lakea was writing hit after hit, her son was striving for excellence already in the first grade, but reading on a fourth grade level, and she and her husband were closer than ever. He was Lakea's best friend, partner, counselor, her everything. Lakea was happy again and she spent more time with her brothers, nephews, and her daddy. Those demons of her past were long gone and she had learned how to live again. Lakea had the life that she always wanted, but never thought was possible.
As Lakea sat in the window of her condo, rubbing her big six months pregnant belly with her daughter Kylie growing inside, she smirked to herself.
‘I made it!’ Lakea thought as she watched the cabs speed by, the cars dart in and out of traffic, and well-dressed people hurry up and down the block going to work and business meetings. Her new environment was so much different from the harsh, crime and drug riddled neighborhood she came from. Where she was now was completely different from LMG. She was completely different. Now she was loved, truly loved. Suddenly a familiar melody filled the air as the music to Lakea's song Love Hard blasted through the speakers of her Boise sound system sitting on the table by the window. A tear fell from Lakea's eye as she swayed to the music and mouthed the lyrics to the song she wrote, now being heard around the world.
“It's number one on all the charts!” The DJ yelled over the song.
Just then Daniel and J-J entered the room and went over to Lakea, who was still sitting in the window. J-J kissed his mommy, while smiling then he sat down beside her in the window seat. Daniel got on his knees and wrapped his arms around his wife, kissing her.
“You did it baby. She is so proud of you.” Daniel whispered in Lakea's ear.
She smiled through her tears of joy.
“Yes, we did baby.” Lakea said kissing his neck and looking at the picture of Mesha over her fireplace.
She said a prayer she hoped her cousin heard, closing her eye as she cried her last tear for a long time. Lakea finally had the one thing she sought her entire life, to be complete. Lakea finally felt that she was fulfilling her destiny. She was no longer broken. That broken girl's journey had ended much happier than she ever imagined. Her heart was finally mended. She was finally simply...... Lakea. However deep in her heart she knew that her pain and long, hard journey was not over yet. Somehow she could feel that something, somewhere was happening that would put an end to her happiness. She hoped she was wrong and shuddered at the thought, smiling through the tears that were again starting to build inside of her.
Meanwhile back in Memphis, Jason Robinson, brother of Montrel Robinson a.k.a The Creep sat in his new black Impala with his seven-year-old nephew Jacquorien, the creeps son, remembering his brother. The tears rolled down Jason's face as he rolled a blunt while his nephew stared at him intently with wide eyes. Jacquorien could feel the pain that his uncle felt. He could also feel his hate build for whomever took his dad from him. He would make them pay. He had to.
“I see the hate in yo eyes lil nigga!” Jason said lighting his blunt and deeply inhaling the kush.
“I can help you though. We can fuck all of em off!” Jason said handing Jacquorien the blunt.
As Jacquorien inhaled the kush deeply, he imagined getting revenge on whoever killed his dad. He saw himself killing people with no remorse and enjoying it.
“Ima be they worse fucking nightmare unc. Fuck the whole bloodline!” Jacquorien said with so much hate and resentment Jason had to look at him twice.
He liked what he saw though. Every since he got out of prison two weeks earlier, Jason had dreamed about killing Lakea and her whole family for what he knew they did to his brother. He knew all about Montrel's stalking Lakea, the shooting, and everything else but he didn't care. She had no right to take his brother away from him when he was gone and couldn't protect him.
“I know who the bitch is!” Jason said with a sinsiter grin on his face.
“Well unc let the terror begin...that bitch gone regret the day she was born! Jacquorien said hitting the blunt again and letting the kush take his mind to evil thoughts. With those words Jacquorien began his transformation into a stone cold killer under the guidance of his uncle. Seven years of drugs, murder, hatred, and violence would help to develop a level of hate, cold-heartedness, and evilness in Jacquorien that could potentially destroy Lakea's happy world once again. The happiness that broken girl had finally found could be gone in an instant and she could be left broken again....
