“Right,” the skull-faced man said, snapping his fingers, his voice no longer sounding quite so menacing. “Sorry, I forgot.”
Bill shrugged, waiting.
“Come, Bill,” the man said, the creepy edge having returned to his voice. “Grim Death has need of your services tonight.” He turned, heading for the door.
And Bill followed, answering Death’s call as he had been asked to do.
There was work to be done.
