Sam moved in and pulled Anderson into him, “I’m sorry about the book. I can see it in your eyes that you miss it. I know it’s not the same, but we have a complete set of all the pages of the book that were scanned and printed out. I’ll give you a copy when we get home.”

Anderson gave a small nod, “I do miss the book, but I’d rather have you. Sam, you’re my future history and from that perspective, even more important.”

Sam caressed Anderson’s face gently before kissing him. He could not resist tasting Anderson’s full lips at that sudden admission. He knew as he stood there in the early evening light on the small island in a place of such great tragedy that the man that was currently in his arms would be his future. That made Sam content; it made him happy.

Anderson accepted Sam’s lips and allowed his tongue to flow over Sam’s with fluidity. As he closed his eyes to deepen the kiss, Anderson remembered what his father had once told him.

I know you’re gay but this advice works on gay relationships too. When you fall in love Andy, do not love with only a part of your heart because no one deserves that. When you fall in love make sure it’s someone worthy so you can love him with all your heart.

“I do not love with part of my heart, Sam,” Anderson lifted his head to explain to his father. “Not even a part. I love you with all my heart.”

The smile that Sam gave him then lit up Anderson’s heart and he closed his eyes, pressed his face to Sam’s neck and whispered, “It’s alright now.”

“I never thought this was possible,” Sam replied allowing his lips to lightly brush over Anderson’s. “But I love you more than you could ever imagine.”

A wisp of wind blew around them, picking up leaves and rustling Sam’s hair. From somewhere off in the distance, in the great beyond of time and space, Anderson could have sworn he heard his father laughing and saying those four words that had made Anderson the happiest. “I love you first.”
