For all their sakes, Geri had stopped communicating with them. Until she figured out how to protect her and Tricia’s money from Damon, she wouldn’t divulge the truth to anyone, even if those close to her had started to believe bad things about her.

If only she could tell Tricia the truth so her sister wouldn’t be so angry and bitter…

Tears sprung to her eyes, but she blinked them away. She’d never regret the decisions she’d made, because she knew they were best for Tricia and Maddie.

Geri straightened and walked to the pool room purposefully. Hadn’t she promised herself that she’d focus on how lucky she was rather than the problems she was facing? How many people did she know who could get up in the middle of a cold winter’s night to go for a swim in a heated indoor pool? She was blessed despite her troubles, with Ingrid thanking her every day. So she wasn’t going to complain that she wasn’t getting any gratitude from her sister.

There. She felt better after that little pep talk.

Feeling more cheerful, she opened the door to the pool room. She stopped in her tracks, her heart banging hard against her rib cage.

Simon was lounging on one of the daybeds, playing with his phone and wearing nothing but a tight-fitting pair of swimming trunks.

Holy smokes. This man was to die for.

“Geri!” Simon said in surprise before his face split into a wide, pleased grin.

She blinked, trying to get back her bearings.

Simon got up and walked towards her, his gaze sensual as he took in her attire. “What’s with this?” he asked, toying with the strap of her one-piece.

“What do you mean?” she asked breathlessly.

“What happened to your birthday suit?”

She smiled. “Well, you haven’t got yours on either.”

“That’s easily remedied,” he said in a low voice.

  She gulped.

“I was hoping you’d come,” Simon continued.

  “You were?”

“I wished upon a star.” He indicated the big skylight overhead.

She let out a laugh. “I couldn’t sleep, so I thought I’d go for a relaxing swim.”

  “Same here,” Simon murmured.

They stared in each other’s eyes for a long breathless moment, and then, as if in one accord, their lips met.

“Simon… Mrs. Lawrence,” she whispered even as her arms curved around his neck.

“Does she usually wake up in the middle of the night?”

“No. She sleeps like a log, although she gets up quite early.”

“Good.” Simon broke the kiss to close the pool room door and lock it.

Oh. She hadn’t even known the door had a lock.

She took a deep breath, resisting the urge to run back to Simon’s arms. Hadn’t she already decided she wouldn’t flirt with him anymore? So where the hell was her self-control?

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Simon asked, tilting her chin with his finger.

Gosh, she’d never win poker. “This is a bad idea,” she said with a loud exhale.

  “Why?”

“We live in different states. When I go… home, we’ll be too far away from each other. What I’m trying to say is, if a fling is all we can have, then I don’t think we should be risking our jobs for it. Mrs. Lawrence might not give us a good reference for future employment.”

Simon went quiet, his brows furrowing.

She turned to stare at the sparkling water, willing for him to come up with a valid argument against her statement. Because even though her brain totally agreed with what she’d said, everything else inside her was rebelling.

Didn’t she deserve to have some fun? Some happiness? Couldn’t she really enjoy several sexy nights with Simon? Why did she always have to be the responsible one who had to hold back on life? Why did she constantly insist on making all the sacrifices when her only sibling sided with a criminal instead of her?

She filled her lungs to capacity, a different kind of resolve filling her. No, she wasn’t going to turn down a steamy night with the hottest guy she knew. Besides, she doubted Ingrid would hear them from upstairs even if they moaned their lungs out.

  She blushed at her thoughts.

Simon placed a hand on her arms. “Geri—”

“You know what?” she said, interrupting him. “I changed my mind.”

  Simon’s brows rose.

“If we’re discreet about it and make sure Mrs. Lawrence doesn’t find out, then…” Shyness suddenly hit her. She wasn’t used to being forward with men.

“Then what?” Simon prompted, his face breaking into a sultry grin.

She lunged at him, kissing him hard.

Simon groaned, crushing her to him as he responded to her kiss with fervour.

She melted against his hard body, yielding to the instant passion she hadn’t known she was capable of.

Simon pushed down the straps of her swimsuit, baring her breasts to him. “Geri,” he murmured before bending down and taking a pebbled nipple in his mouth.

She gasped. She couldn’t believe she was doing this—having sex with the chauffeur she’d hired only a few days ago.

Well, this might turn out to be a poor decision on her part, but at least she was doing something she wanted rather than something she should. She was tired of should-ing herself all the time.

And, Lord, she really wanted Simon.

“Let’s take this off, shall we?” Simon murmured, pushing her outfit down her legs.

She stepped out of it, with Simon helping her. Somehow she ended up standing with her feet farther apart, and blushed at the nearness of Simon’s face to her crotch. Her breath hitched when he ran his hands up her legs, followed by his lips.

“Simon,” she whispered when his mouth was near her mound. Shyness made her want to close her legs, but Simon had placed himself in between them so she couldn’t.

Then his tongue was on her nub, flicking.

“Ahhh!” she cried out loud, shocked at the intensity of the pleasure that shot from her core.

She looked down on Simon’s head between her legs, trying to stop herself from making any more noise.

Her two previous boyfriends had never done this to her.

  Chapter 6

Simon looked up, wanting to see Geri’s face instead of just hearing her pleasure at his licking. But instead of the desire or ecstasy he was expecting, discomfort lined her features.

He stood up to cup her face. “You didn’t like that?” he asked gently, swiping his thumbs on her flushed cheeks.

  “No, I… I mean…” She swallowed.

He pulled her close, surprised she didn’t like oral sex. “It’s okay. We’ll do something else that you like.”

“That’s not it.” Geri’s face reddened further.

He cocked his head and tried to suppress a smile, guessing what this was about.

“It was nice,” Geri said in an embarrassed whisper.

  “Just nice?” he teased.

Geri chuckled. “It’s was very nice, but I’m just not used to it. I mean, no one has…” She looked down on the floor.

Simon took her hand and led her to one of the daybeds. Oddly, it thrilled him that he could give Geri something no other man had ever given her before. In fact, he was happy at the thought that Geri probably hadn’t had many lovers, judging by her embarrassment. Not that the number of men a woman had been with was of any importance to him. It was just that with Geri, he felt… possessive.

His brow shot up at his realisation. Well, that was new.

He stopped in front of the daybed he’d occupied earlier and climbed on it, inching close to the edge. Then he patted the space next to him. “Right here, babe.”

To his relief, Geri’s smile was sweet as she readily lay down next to him.

He caressed a strand of hair off her forehead and started kissing her face softly, slowly—more tender than passionate. The last thing he wanted was for Geri to feel uncomfortable while having sex with him. He w
anted her to have fun—as much fun as he knew he was going to have, even if she never gave him a blow job. That didn’t matter. He just wanted her to be relaxed and happy with him.

He held her closer, burrowing his head in her neck. Something was happening to him and he couldn’t explain it. It was like he wanted to burst, but not from lust. Well, partly from lust, because he couldn’t wait to slide inside her moist heat, but…

Simon shook his head and reared up to look at her face. Since meeting Geri, he couldn’t stop thinking about her, even though he’d spent the last couple of days in her company. Last night, when he was supposed to be checking his work emails, he’d daydreamed about her instead. Not only that, he was sure he’d dreamt about her too. He couldn’t remember the dream, but the first thought he’d had upon waking was Geri and how he couldn’t wait to see her again.

His already racing heart thudded harder. Was he starting to fall in love? Was he about to experience what his friends had been raving about? It didn’t seem possible. He and Geri had just met. Surely, love couldn’t happen this quickly?

“What?” Geri asked, a troubled look appearing on her face as she placed a palm on his cheek.

He was quick to smile, not liking her frown. “Nothing. I just want to make sure you’re okay with this.”

Geri’s lips curved up. “Yes. I’m sorry I stopped you back there.”

“Oh? You mean you want me to continue what I was doing?” he said teasingly.

A blush crept up Geri’s cheeks again, but she was grinning shyly. “If you don’t mind.”

“I most certainly don’t. But that can wait until later,” he murmured as he lowered his head to kiss her lips, exploring her mouth’s sweetness with his tongue while he busied his hand with caressing her body.

All he’d expected from this incognito experiment was to meet a nice girl he could potentially fall in love with. But if he was indeed already falling for Geri, then that wasn’t bad at all. She was a nice girl. Not only that, she was smart, responsible, funny, not to mention beautiful—and damned hot. He let out a low groan as he kissed her neck. Then he teased both erect nipples with his thumbs, sneaking a glance at her face to watch her reaction.

Geri’s mouth opened as she tried to suppress a gasp, her eyes hooded.

Hiding a smile, he started running his lips against the swell of her breasts. He wanted her to let go of her inhibitions. Lucky Ingrid wouldn’t hear anything from her room even if he made Geri scream.

He ran the tip of his tongue round and round a rosy peak while his fingers crept between her legs. Then, as he started stroking her swollen nub, he closed his lips around her nipple.

“Simon,” Geri cried in a strangled voice, raking her fingers through his hair.

Patiently, he took his time in pleasuring her, switching from one bud to another while he rubbed her clit. Before long, Geri was soaking wet, and he knew she was close to coming. He stopped what he was doing and lay by her side again, fitting his lips to hers.

Geri pressed herself closer to him as she kissed him back, throwing a leg around his hips and tugging at the waistband of his shorts.

He let out a pleased chuckle and helped her by pushing his only clothing off his legs.

Geri’s hand wrapped around his erection, and he groaned out loud. “Geri.”

They devoured each other’s mouths as they feverishly caressed each other’s bodies, their hips restless as they sought connection.

But he wasn’t ready for that yet. He still had to fulfil her wish. He crawled down, leaving hot kisses along her body.

  “Simon,” Geri whispered.

When he was by her legs, Geri readily opened them for him, her shyness seeming to have evaporated.

He kissed her thigh before poking out his tongue and flicking her nub repeatedly.

Geri moaned, arching her hips to him.

“You like this, baby?” he murmured, teasing her wet entrance with his finger while he continued to lave her with his tongue.

“Yes,” she gasped, clutching a fistful of his hair.

He pushed a digit into her, gently stroking the inside of her channel. This time, Geri’s cry was lustful, stripped of inhibitions.

Ah, that was what he wanted, and he ached to be inside her. He wanted to make her come with his mouth and fingers, but sheer need had him leaving her and grabbing the condom he’d brought with him from the small table next to the daybed. He needed to be inside her when he took her to climax for the first time.

He put on the protection, watching Geri as he did so. She was so damned beautiful, lying there looking at him, her legs splayed open as she waited for him.

He covered her with his body and brushed the head of his erection against her clit.

“Take me now,” she whispered, wrapping her arms and legs around him.

“Geri,” he breathed, his heart pounding as he pushed in. She was tight, and he forced himself to be still to allow her to accommodate his size. When Geri gave him a sultry smile he started to move gently. “You feel so good,” he murmured.

He kissed her face, her lips, her neck as he moved in and out of her, trying to keep his pace slow. He felt incredible—hearing Geri’s soft moans and feeling her hands rub his back—and they were far from done. What would it feel like when he was coming inside her?

The thought had him involuntarily speeding up his movements.

Geri mewled, grabbing his ass to urge him deeper.

“Geri,” he groaned, obliging her. Over and over he drove in, the pleasure in his groin building up and up. When he thought he was almost there, he found himself taken to another level—a higher one where his pleasure and need for Geri threatened to consume him.

His arms and legs strained from his efforts, but there was no thought of stopping. He thrust again and again, revelling in this moment of indescribable sensations.

  “Simon… oh God…”

His chest expanded at Geri calling his name, and his cock thickened even more, ready to explode. “Yes, baby. Come for me. Come with me.”

Geri trembled, letting out short cries of ecstasy as her body clamped hard around his manhood.

“Fuck!” He shuddered as a wave of rapture ran through him, and he came, and came, and came inside Geri.

He collapsed on top of her as he caught his breath, stunned. What had just happened? He’d couldn’t remember ever being this horny, or climaxing as hard as he just had.

Geri tried to move from underneath him, and he hurriedly shifted to his side. “Sorry. Was I crushing you?”

“No, I just needed to move my legs,” she said, stretching languidly.

Ah, he loved seeing that contentment on her face. He kissed her shoulder. “That was great.”

  “Yes, it was.”

“Let me get rid of this condom.” He went to the rubbish bin near the door. To his disappointment, Geri also got up and wrapped a towel around her, then picked up her bathing suit from the floor.

He walked back to her and pulled her close. “Where are you going?”

Geri sighed. “I want to stay here, but we might fall asleep. And we need to get up early tomorrow for our drive to Katoomba. You, especially, will need a good rest since you’ll be driving.”

  “I guess,” he said reluctantly.

“I’ll see you tomorrow. Good night.” Geri cupped his face and tiptoed to give him a peck on the lips before leaving the pool room.

He inhaled deeply, feeling bereft. Geri was right, of course. If they stayed here, he had no doubts they’d end up having another round. As it was, the most sleep he could have tonight was four and a half hours—if he’d be able to sleep at all.

But he wanted a cuddle on the daybed with Geri before they parted for the night. It had seemed fitting after the sensational sex they just had.

He snorted, shaking his head. That was definitely out of character. Since when had he yearned for a cuddle after sex? Geri most certainly had done something to him.

He smiled, grabbing his trunks and
putting them back on. Whatever spell Geri had put on him, he wanted more of it.

His phone’s screen lit up with a new text message. It was from a female acquaintance in London, saying she’d be in Sydney next week and that she’d love to hook up.

He frowned, deleting it instantly. This device was his Simon Alexander one, as he’d been checking up on work. He had to remember to be careful with this particular phone when he was around Geri. Some women he knew weren’t shy about asking him for a fuck. Those were the texts he couldn’t let Geri see.

  Chapter 7

“Geri, do you know if Simon packed a suit?”

Geri glanced at Ingrid in surprise. “No, but I’d be surprised if he did.”

“I should have thought about telling you to ask him to bring one,” Ingrid said with a sigh. “I’d like him to join us for the fancy dinners we’ll be going to.”

“Great idea,” she said with a pleased grin. Clearly, their employer was already considering Simon as a travel companion, not just a mere chauffeur-bodyguard. Again, Geri was awed by Ingrid’s generosity and down-to-earth nature. But she also knew that Simon’s fun and trust-inspiring personality contributed greatly to this decision.

It had been the total opposite with Elmer, their previous chauffeur, even though Elmer had spent over two months travelling with them. Elmer had never been as much fun or as friendly as Simon, and had never contributed to their road trip plans even when asked. To Ingrid’s credit, she’d tried to invite Elmer to their dinners more than a few times. But after two whole weeks of constant refusal, Ingrid had stopped. She’d given him a meal allowance instead, so Elmer could eat wherever he wanted.

Geri hoped Simon would accept Ingrid’s dinner invitations. She usually got dolled up during those times, and perhaps they could pretend to be out on a date—with Ingrid as their chaperone. She chuckled at her thoughts.

“What?” Ingrid asked, noticing her gaiety.

“Oh, nothing, Mrs. Lawrence. I was just remembering how Elmer is so different from Simon.”
