Past Capture Part 1

Ms. Lowes stared at her with defeat and possibly hatred – hatred because Jasmine was defending a lowlife who did not deserve it. The lowlife who married this hot little model and wife number two, her client, and wants to get her grubby little hands on the insurance money of her deceased husband. And Mrs. Higgs could certainly not reap the benefits being accused as the murderer.

“As you can see,” Jasmine murmurs to the audience, “the volunteer would sometimes snag the fences. It’s natural when you are in a hurry. Evidence G found on the fence near Mr. Higgs’s home matches the clothing of Ms. Lowe’s shirt, which she accidentally burned that day.”

The young lawyer’s jaw dropped, not knowing what to say. They probably did not tell them to do experiments and input sarcasm during trials at college. Well, she taught another innocent lawyer to smarten up didn’t she?

Ms. Lowes glared at her and then her client, Mrs. Higgs. It did not surprise Jasmine one bit when she broke down. “That slut! She stole him from me. If it weren’t for her he would still be with me! He would never, ever have married this plastic model!”

“Hey!” Mrs. Higgs stood up, indignant and tried to approach, shoving away the guards who got a handful and chestful of her double Ds. The two women yelled at each other like old ladies in the fish market, uttering obscenities fitted to make all innocents blush until Judge Reynolds hit the mallet again.

“I’d say, we have enough evidence to show that Ms. Lowes did indeed, kill her husband?” Hearing no objections from anyone, he sentenced her life in prison without the possibility of parole. Ms. Lowes wailed and threw out more curses as she was dragged away while kicking up a desert storm behind her.

“You’re great!” Mrs. Higgs hugged her, jumping in happiness. Jasmine grimaced at the heavily perfumed woman, and pushed the woman away by holding her shoulders steady. This was the last time she helped a woman. If it weren’t for Mr. Higgs who frequently seek her law firm’s advice…ugh.

“Don’t thank me, Mrs. Higgs.” Even though you are guilty of something else, I’m sure. “You are innocent in this case.” The natural airhead did not realize the impact of Jasmine’s words and continued to gush at how she can help with many different things. If Jasmine Lincoln has a heart, she would have told the woman to shut up because half the things the woman did are illegal. Instead she turned on the recording function on her phone and waited until the woman shuts up with her crimes.

Finally satisfied, the woman got ready to leave. “I was scared of you before because you’re like so stuck-up, well…you still are, but I admire you as a professional. Well, see you soon! Ta-Ta!”

Oh, how that little slut is going to get it. Jasmine cut the last part of the recording out and fired it to Willis. That stuck-up slut would meet her worst nightmare.

  “How’s the case going?”

The voice on the other side of her earpiece was soft like a seduction calling from the deepest level of hell known as lust as she strained to listen. The noises in the background must mean he is calling from work. It has been days since she last saw him and seeing how he stormed away into the night, she thought it would take at least a week. Apparently his fiancé’s secret love child dilemma dragged the ass out of hiding. How noble. Or whatever adjective one would use to describe this behaviour.

“As it should.” She quipped, managing to keep her anger out of her tone.

  “Which is?”

He used to have some trust in her. Guess a lot of things changed. “If you want me to help you, you have to put your trust in me.”

There was a long pause and she had thought he hung up on her when he spoke quietly. “I do trust you. Always.”

His tone. Is he really an amateur actor? The words confused her. She never did well with analyzing emotions and ulterior motives with this man. With others like Charles, except Willis, she was able to tell what they want almost immediately. Willis is a little challenging but she knew his heart. Carson Bane’s heart and mind, she cannot confidently deduce. And fortunately she had no desire to.

“Great.” She swallowed hard and continued even though her heart was beating like crazy and her mind in utter turmoil. It was a wonder her voice sounded like her usual decisive self. “I want to meet Andrew for myself.” And get evidence that your woman is the crazy one.

“Sure. Andrew is with the social workers because of his parent’s court battle. They can’t approach him but I can. When would you like to go?”

He must be crazy to think she wanted him to tag along. She did not need a babysitter no better how hot dripping gorgeous he is. Not willing to consider why she would think such a thing about him, she said instead, “Just tell me the address and I’ll –”

  “Jaz, I’m going with you.”

  “Don’t call me – ”

“Ms. Lincoln, you either let me go or I’ll tell the officers that there is this hot crazy lawyer trying to grill a child.”

Her mouth dropped open in shock. The man just threatened her! And complimented her! Never mind that! Her! Jasmine Lincoln! This arrogant…arrogant man! Who does he think he is? He’s just a freaking famous model that half the female population lusts after on subway trains and in the privacy of their own home! She glanced up and seeing some of her colleagues glance curiously at her, she swiveled her chair so she stared out the window instead.

“Mr. Bane, do not threaten me.”

Her demand was like a feather tickling the man’s ear. The ass chuckled with his baritone voice. That humourous laugh was real. She heard it during that month enough times to remember it for a lifetime. No. She reminded herself it was a lie. How could she trust what he did as real when he left without a single word to her?

“It’s not really a threat. Just sharing a little observation.”

  “Then false accusation.”

“It’s an opinion. Nothing false about that.”

“There’s something called a false opinion.” She grumbled and he laughed loudly into the receiver. “Stop laughing – ”

“Excuse me, Mr. Bane?” Some woman’s voice interrupted her but it was muffled by his hand no doubt. She chewed her lips and returned to her computer screen, staring blankly at articles and articles she dug up on Vanessa Golding. The woman lost a lot of jobs after a car crash a year and a half ago. Why did this seem like significant information? Then half a year later, Carson and Vanessa were seen together.

  “Jasmine?”

“What?” She almost forgot they were in the middle of a conversation. Almost.

“I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning. You still live in the same place right?”

“Mr. Bane, you don’t have to – ”

  “See you at nine, Jasmine.”

An audible click and he was gone. The dial tone rang in her ear and she put the handset back into its proper place with a shaking hand. Great. I have a date. No. It’s not a date. Whatever. The nerve-wracking issue here is the fact she would see Carson Bane again. Her heart refused to calm down at the thought, increasing her irritation level. Damn this man. In less than a week after seeing him again her vocabulary increased in swear words. If this went on she could not keep her professionalism intact. Even Willis would not be able to save her then. She needed to rewind before she made her colleagues cry.

Grabbing her blue blazer, she waltzed out, her heels clacking on the deep floral carpet signalling Charles her arrival. She was glad she is in her boss’s good graces because he’s probably the only who would let his employees skip work because of stress. And she was at the epitome of stress at the moment.

She dreadfully needed to get a spa treatment and the reason was not because of Carson Bane! It was not but seeing Ms. Vanessa Golding coming out of the usual spa centre she frequented reminded her of why he showed up in her life again. The woman glistened like a confident rose not a withering lily she was supposed to be. Her body wanted to turn the other way seeing the woman already polluted her sanctuary but her rational devious little mind told her to stay and find ou
t.

“Ms. Lincoln, welcome! We’re all ready for you. Your masseuse will be right with you.”

Jasmine smiled politely and went to change in the little room. The lights were dim with scented candles. A small table of assorted oils and robes were set out. At the other side is a small bathtub for a nice soak and she got in immediately, feeling the warm water wash over all her stress away, if only temporary.

“Ms. Lincoln.” Thomas entered in smiling, swishing his hips. The man was amazingly pretty and the best. It wasn’t Jasmine who chose him at first, it was him. They bonded immediately, both with a little naughty streak. He very happily provided her with worthwhile secrets her clients still didn’t know how she managed to uncover.

“You look so tense, sweety.” Thomas shook his head like he was disappointed she did not go and have wild sex until she collapsed like he did. Well, her luck was dry as the Sahara after…let’s not think about sex.

“Thomas, never mind that, I want you to tell me about that woman who just left.”

His eyes shone like glittering diamonds surrounded by the candlelight and he murmured in an excited whisper. “You mean Vanessa Golding?”

“So you know her?” It was hard to hide her disdain but she managed or Thomas was just too excited and ignored it.

“Who doesn’t? All men lusts after her ever since her boob showed on screen.” He rolled his eyes, his smile turned upside down for only a moment. Nothing could turn the man down for long. He would always be up.

“So she has a perfectly smooth body.” She grumbled to herself but Thomas heard it this time.

“Now, sugar you know you have the best body and I’m not trying to butter you up because you’re my meal ticket. She has surgical scars you know.”

That peaked her interest and she waited for Thomas to elaborate. He held himself, trying to busy himself with setting the massage table and things but she knew he was having one hell of a time holding himself in. He plopped the last bottle on the counter and turned with full pouty lips.

“Oh for god’s sakes, will it hurt for you to just beg for once?” He stomped his foot with hands on his hips like a scolding mother.

“Don’t pout, mother Thomas. You know my policy is only to beg in bed. Are you saying you want a go with me?”

“I would if I don’t have Richard.” Thomas giggled and turned away to fiddle with his oils. So the two did hit it off. Richard, Sugar’s colleague is a nice man. Ah, the fun of watching over Sugar had now ended. Perhaps that is why she felt a little bereft?

“Anyway, I’ll tell you.” Thomas sat at the edge, staring down at her and whispered. “Let’s say all those hetero males would cry if they know those perky melons are fake.”

  Chapter 3

Jasmine Lincoln had never been in such a dilemma all her life. No. There was this one time where she accidentally flattened a sadistic educator and was not able to get up. The man got a taste of having a two hundred something pounds of a woman’s heavenly squishiness. It would probably appall all her acquaintances that she regretted not a shred of it. Squeezing the flab near her waist, she grimaced. Old age. Time to hit the dance floor. The place was a little different from where people usually went to to lose weight but she enjoyed it. It let her lose that strict appeal she always wore in front of clients and practise her naughty streak. Jasmine Lincoln had a pretty stubborn one.

Before that though, right now she was stubbornly trying to make herself pretty and dress like a hot mess when she only had like ten minutes left. Why would she have thought she could handle this? To let him take her to that child centre? Because she was stubborn as a bull, unwilling to admit defeat. Well, look what happened now.

Why didn’t she pick out what to wear yesterday night? Well, she tried but it was impossible to. Halter top with shorts? What was she fifteen? A sundress? Yah, for a damn picnic. What do people wear to go on a non-date with your one month fling? Nothing. Just throw her naked body at him and call it a nice fucking day!

She groaned at herself in the mirror. That double entendre brought with it steamy memories luring her to finger herself everywhere, in particular the wet slit between her legs. Oh, how she wanted to spread eagle and let him impale her while pushing her legs out and high over her shoulders.

  Ding dong!

Damn. Had the man never heard of the phrase, “Fashionably late”? Only mascara and lipstick on her washed face. It would have to do. Sighing, she closed her eyes and grabbed anything out of the closet. She would leave it to fate.

Fate would have it that she wear the sweater she used to have back in the day. It was roomy and long enough to be perfectly presentable, reaching her knees. Was she that big? The neck area was so big that it ended on her shoulders, showing her bra strap. The sweater swallowed her whole and made her look so kiddish with her curly hair tied up high on her head. Her sunkissed blonde hair framed her oval face. Since fate did not include anything for her legs, she let it go and went to answer the door.

Carson Bane blasted her with a luminous beam which quickly turned into a stormy cast. The heated look on his face told her his insides were either on high heat alert or thundering with anger. Not willing herself to care either way, she got into her sandals and grabbed her bag. Looking past his shoulder, she managed to sound haughty, “You’re blocking the way.”

He cleared his throat and backed away almost like in a trance. The door clicked close, automatically locking it and she went for the elevator with slightly trembling legs. He said nothing but from the reflection of the elevator’s ever pristine door, she could see him staring at her. Her legs? God, she hoped so. No, I don’t!

The door clinked open and she was about to get in when she saw all the furniture inside. Obviously someone was moving in or out. Of all days to block the elevators it had to be today! Oh this could not be happening!

“We’ll miss the appointed visitation hours if we don’t head out now.” Carson ran his hand through his gorgeous hair, the action brought a nice stretch across that wide buff chest of his. The man need to wear a jacket at all times or risk getting mauled.

  God.

“We need to run.” She turned and made her way down the emergency exit. Hell, if she did not work out this sexual frustration she was self-inducing she would really be in an emergency. The urgency of gushing all over Carson Bane! Literally!

  Chapter 1

The warm water sprayed out in droplets against her skin, bouncing down her soft body and flowed into the drain. Standing under the shower head, while touching the most intimate parts of her body, was gradually becoming a habitual reaction. One finger slowly slipped into the recesses of her sex, soaked and wet inside and out, causing her knees to buckle in reaction. After hitting puberty and discovering her step-father and step-brother’s secret stashes, she wanted nothing but the feeling of a man’s warm body, loving her to distraction. Those lean taut muscles firm because of healthy exercises was constantly haunting her dreams and only in the comfort of the white pristine shower concealed by sounds of the water faucet, could she try to relieve this desperate ache burning like a little
flame inside of her.

Although Binna envied her friends for dashing the title of a virgin right at senior year, she never once wished to have sex at the age of seventeen. The stories which carried into her ears about her opposite sex and what they have between their legs was intriguing to her young adolescent mind. How could some part of the human body grow to the size of half your arm so quickly? Well, her friends might have exaggerated on that part of the mysterious anatomy. Everyone was all clamoring for length and width. It was almost an insane competition after a date, talking the girth the guy possessed. She never had the urge to date anyone knowing that she would have to follow the protocol. At least the poor frog she had to dissect in biology was dead. Talk about dissecting dates. How would someone be able to look at another person’s eyes again after knowing every little mole on his or her body?

The frightening fact was, not only the girls do it, the guys do it too. She wasn’t ready to offer herself up to the market and getting dissected. She wasn’t a prude nor was she overly popular. All in all, she existed on this very earth following a fairly normal life for the past seventeen, reaching eighteen years. There were little subtle bullying as every normal high school but life at St. Charles High was unfortunately not as dramatic as this English Lord the school was named after. Recent information technology though made taking someone out to the guillotine much more tame.

Today was a pretty close call though with Mr. Popular football player. It must be some kind of bet between the guys to see if one of them could get into her pants. Her friend Amy told her to lose it already but Binna, as a secret romantic, wanted it to be special and with somebody she loved. Something about losing her virginity on her eighteen birthday appeared all the more romantic. However, finding love right at eighteen though would never happen. Life was not a soap opera in the least.
