Falling Into Faerie After
Page 34
“Hey bitch, about time you showed up.”
I pivoted, almost tripping on my own feet. Ai Lung stood with Falin, munching on a drumstick.
Ai Lung was standing.
“What are you... How are you-”
“Wishes aren’t just for cute kids and falling stars,” Ai Lung said. She threw the drumstick at the firepit. “Turns out I was praying to the wrong deity.”
My eyes swung back over to Orin and Ai Lung snorted a laugh.
“Yeah, he tried to convince me of that one, too. Who has ever heard of a unicorn sex god?” Ai Lung said. “I meant the Lord of Darkness,” she said, pointing at Dain.
“Prince,” I corrected.
“He told me that but Lord is funnier, all that irony,” she replied, then tilted her head at me. “What happened to your voice? And are you taller, or is it just my new perspective?”
I looked at my best friend and suddenly none of the rest of it mattered right this moment. I ran over and hugged her as hard as she could take it.
“Did they tell you yet?” Ai Lung whispered to me.
“About what?” I said, still stunned and happy, so happy.
“Your mother,” Ai Lung said. “We’re here to rescue your mother.”

Every Witch Demon but Mine (Book 1 of Maeren Series)
There is no such thing as a Lightning witch.
Elizabeth Norwood has been hiding in the human realm most of her life, filling a niche as a vampire slayer that isn’t quite as secret as her magic. Staking demons wasn’t part of the deal. The only way to keep hell from following her hidden family and ruining their happily ever after is to confront the demons from her old life and do what she’s trained for her whole life, defeat the monster.
Seems simple enough until she accidently stabs Prince Daemon in the back. It was the spiked punch, honest! Only wounding the dark demon of her dreams has put him on her scent and the hunt she had planned changes into a chase with nowhere to run. Her sister is busy facing her own demons. Her mother will tear hell apart to save her, even if the rest of their world comes crumbling down in penance. Elizabeth has no choice but to grab the prince by his fangs and cast the biggest illusion her Lightning magic has ever conjured.
Daemon won’t be easily tricked. He has grown up in a dark court full of intrigues and assassins. The thorny path to the throne is strew with his fiery siblings, blood-harem rights and a little dragon problem that’s got the villagers in an uproar. Now, Elizabeth is attracting interest that a witch with a secret cannot afford. She will need more than a few sweet kisses to pull Daemon away from it all and under her spell. He is the most dangerous monster she’s faced, a true match to her singular magic in ways she can’t parry without revealing her secrets.
They’ll dance until one of them is caught and she is forced into a terrible dilemma. There’s only one rule about slaying that matters.
The stake goes in the heart.
*Part of the Maeren series. Be prepared for big, unique world-building, a mysterious harem that sneaks up on our heroine and a book that has bite.
About the Author
I’ve drank cafe sua dau on a Saigon street. The binary system is a language and I remember the first thing I ever cooked in a microwave (hotdog) and when I was the only girl in a classroom full of boys and noisy computers and it was no typing class. I heal people and soothe souls for those that can’t be cured. I’m a fangirl. I believe in fairness and rescuing kitties from trees. You can depend on me. Book recommendations are the best gift next to a smile. Humour is a must. You live a lot to learn. Be kind.
