I shrugged off the idea though and climbed out of bed. I grabbed my notebook by the window and once again, stared back and forth between Bristol and the waves.
The words wouldn’t stop. I couldn’t write fast enough.
I got an entire song down in a little under an hour, then climbed back into bed. I slipped an arm around Bristol as I kissed her hair. Listening for a moment, I could hear voices and caught the faint scent of coffee in the air. Bristol stirred beside me and her eyes slowly fluttered open.
She looked around for a second, then stared over at me. “Looks like I made myself comfortable.”
I smiled but didn’t say anything.
“Is anyone else awake?”
“I smell coffee. It would seem so.”
“Coffee? We better hurry then.”
I was in no hurry to get down there, but I’d do whatever she wanted me to do.
She slipped her hand down and gripped my hard cock.
“Don’t stop me this time.” She smiled naughtily at me.
I held my hands up in a mock surrender.
She tugged the sheet down and settled herself between my legs, licking and taking me into her mouth. Goddamn, it was fucking heaven. It didn’t take long for my hand to be full of her hair as I came in her mouth.
She took her time, cleaning me with her tongue, and every time she stared up at me with those soft eyes of her, my cock hardened again.
There was no way she was getting her coffee before I’d fucked her again.
I moved between her legs and slid inside as she moaned. God, her pussy was amazing. This time I went slow and steady. We stared into each other’s eyes, watching each other’s every reaction.
“God, you’re beautiful.”
She leaned up and kissed me. Maybe it was to stop me from complimenting her, but that would never happen. One thing I did know, she hadn’t stopped smiling since she’d gotten here.
I slid a hand down and used a finger to stroke across Bristol’s clit as I fucked her. She came long and hard on my cock, clamping down. Her nails dug into my neck as I watched her eyes roll back.
It was too much to bear, seeing her so vulnerable like that, and before long I was coming inside her once again. Writing music and fucking Bristol was all I wanted to do—for the rest of my life.
We wandered downstairs to get Bristol some coffee because I thought she might die if she didn’t get it. Afterward, we showered—together—then got dressed in fresh clothes. Bristol was nice and greeted everyone, but then took her coffee out to the deck and stood with Valerie.
I leaned against the counter, sipping a cup of my own as I looked at the blue water.
Jake walked up behind me. “You guys are getting pretty serious, yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“You look like you’re living out a romance movie.”
“It’s a beach house in LA. It doesn’t get more romantic than that.” I gave him a smirk and took a sip. “What’s up with you and Val?”
“Not much. She likes to fuck, so it is what it is.”
“What are the plans tonight?” Russ strolled into the kitchen. He looked high as fuck already.
I couldn’t help but laugh. “Meeting some friends at Shells for dinner and hitting a bar down the street after.”
He stared back and forth at both of us for a moment, seemingly confused, then pointed a finger at me. “You look right with the redhead.” He glanced outside, and his words came out slow as hell. Jake tried to hold back his laughter.
Russ’s eyes lit up like he’d just thought of something brilliant. “Take her for a walk, bro. She got here too late to see anything last night.”
“Great idea.” I patted him on the back. “Thanks, man.”
I shook my head and laughed again as I grabbed Bristol’s shoes and threw on some flipflops.
I pushed through the back door.
Bristol and Valerie looked over at me.
“Wanna go for a walk? If I’m not interrupting.”
“I’d love that.” Bristol smiled.
I had her sit down and put the shoes on her myself. It was later than I normally liked to walk the beach but still beautiful. Sunrise and sunset was best. Still, the waves were crashing against the sand as she looked out in wonder. I watched her. I loved the beach as much as she did but watching her enjoy it was even better.
We spent a couple hours out there, walking and laughing. I found my favorite little nook in the rocks and pressed her inside for a long kiss. Bristol wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me back.
Kissing turned into groping, and groping turned into me keeping watch around the beach as I sank my cock inside her again. I mean, she was wearing a loose little sundress. Had to take advantage of how easy it was to slip it up over her ass and put my cock in her.
Afterward, we made our way farther down the beach. I enjoyed spending time with her and watched as she walked over to the water to plod through the waves. I didn’t want the walk to end, but we were both hungry. Valerie and Bristol paired up to cook breakfast and within thirty minutes, we were seated around the living room eating. I don’t know why I was surprised, but the food was fantastic.
When we were done, Jake and I took Bristol and Val into town to wander around and see the sights before we headed to a different beach. It felt good to relax and get away from writing. I loved writing, but it was a job and taking a break opened my mind up a bit. The girls walked ahead and peered into shops, choosing to wander through some as I tucked the hat over my face. We weren’t mega famous yet, but people still recognized us every day, especially in LA. I just wanted some peace.
After shopping, we hit the other beach when my phone vibrated in my pocket. It was one of the guys meeting us tonight. I scrolled through the rest of my message quickly.
“Bryce is in tonight.”
Jake nodded like he already knew. I had a strange past with Bryce, but we managed to hang out sometimes. He and I shared an ex from a few years ago and she played us both pretty hard.
“As long as he doesn’t bring Kelly I don’t have a problem with it.”
I stared at the water, nodding. I didn’t have feelings for Kelly, at least not after what she did, but was in total agreement. The last thing I wanted was for her to be around Bristol. There’s no telling what she would say.
Bryce still hung out with her as far as I knew, but I had nothing to do with her. She burned that bridge.
We headed back to the house to get ready for dinner and the girls went up to shower. I let them have their moment since they were pretty much sisters, even though I wanted nothing more than to be inside Bristol. I never wanted her to leave my side.
I stayed downstairs with my notebook and jotted some words. I surprised myself when I realized it was more of a ballad than the usual songs I wrote. I knew I’d give it a hard twist, but the words were flowing straight from my pen.
I smiled.
There was something about Bristol’s presence—I didn’t know what it was, but the words were effortless. I thought I might fill five notebooks before she had to go home.
I heard giggles, and the girls walked down together. They were dressed in sun dresses, Valerie in red and Bristol in purple. They didn’t have a lot of makeup on, but it still looked more than casual. Bristol didn’t need any to look beautiful.
I took her in as she walked down the stairs. She was wearing sandals that tied around her ankles and clutched a purse as she laughed at something else Valerie said.
My cock ached already, just at the sight of her.
I wore some jeans and a button-up shirt. I’d showered downstairs before I sat on the couch to write. I tucked the notebook under my arm and stood up as she met my gaze.
“Wow.”
Bristol grinned back at me.
“We ready?” Jake held the door open.
“Definitely.” I couldn’t stop staring at Bristol as we all walked out to the car.
Bristol
We took the SUV to the re
staurant. Everyone else from the house piled into another big truck.
I wanted to look at the sights as we drove around town, but all I could focus on was Gage’s hungry eyes. They never left mine, the whole drive. I wasn’t going to see anything in the city if he kept looking at me like that all weekend.
Things were changing between us. It was getting really serious—and fast.
We got to the place. It sat right on the water and I wanted to pinch myself over and over to see if this was all real. The restaurant was laid back but packed full and I grinned at Gage once more as Jake shut off the engine.
He held the door open for me and took my hand as I climbed out of the vehicle.
Looking up, I noticed a guy walking toward us, followed by a woman.
Gage gripped my hand tighter when he saw them. I glanced at him as the man approached and greeted him with a handshake.
“Bryce.” Gage’s tone was harsh when he let go of my hand. “We need to talk.” He walked away but kept his eyes on me the entire time.
The woman watched them both with a smirk on her face. She was pretty, raven-haired with intense turquoise eyes.
I glanced over to see Jake abandon Valerie and approach Gage and Bryce.
The woman turned her eyes to me and seemed to tear me apart with just her gaze.
What the hell?
I shrank back, trying to blend into the group when I bumped into someone and apologized. I glanced over at the three guys.
Gage was leaned in, like he was speaking in a low voice. I’d never seen him look so angry, intense. He glared at Bryce then his eyes shot back over to me.
The excitement of the night faded. Did Gage have a past with that woman? Was he going to fight this Bryce guy? Looking around, I realized everyone looked uncomfortable, like they all knew her.
I reached for Valerie’s arm and pulled her to the railing.
“Are you seeing the same thing as me?”
“Yup.” Valerie popped the ‘p’.
“What should we do?”
She glanced back at everyone then faced me. “He’s with you tonight. She came with that other guy.”
“I don’t know.” My stomach twisted into a knot.
“Hey.” She grabbed me by the shoulders.
“Yeah?”
“After the other day, I wasn’t sure. But, I’ve seen the way Gage keeps looking at you. Let’s just have fun. The guy is totally into you. Trust me.” Valerie grinned.
I tucked some hair behind my ear. “You sure?”
“Let’s have some fun. We’re in fucking California with rockstars.” She grabbed my hand, and we walked inside with the group.
Gage walked straight at the woman and I swore his eyes were fiery red. The other guy was gone. The girl frowned as she said something and Gage shook his head. She ran a hand through her hair, staring at him with wild eyes before she stomped out toward the parking lot.
I let out a sigh of relief when she left. Jake was still over there, pinching the bridge of his nose as he said something. I felt the eyes of the other band members on me.
Jake and Gage walked back to the rest of us. Jake suggested we check on our reservation. Everyone walked inside while the four of us trailed in behind. Gage took my hand in his as we walked.
His jaw was flexed and he was practically grinding his teeth. I glanced up as someone called Gage’s name and gestured for us to follow them.
We were led to the back of the room and seated at a large table. Jake took the chair next to Valerie, who was next to me. Gage sat on the other side of me. Everyone chatted, and it began to feel a bit like the night at the house. Nobody discussed what happened out in the parking lot.
Gage backed out of going to the club after dinner—he’d been off all night after the encounter earlier, and Jake said he’d stay with him. It was brutal. I knew how bad Valerie wanted to go to the club. She practically pleaded with her eyes for me to lobby to go out instead. She’d come along on the trip for me. I definitely didn’t want to go, but I knew I needed to do something she wanted.
“What, you want to go?” Jake shot Val an irritated look.
What an asshole.
“No.” Val stared down at the floor. “What do you want to do?”
He leaned in close and whispered something in her ear.
Her whole demeanor changed. She smiled and nodded then shot a grin at Gage as well.
What was I missing?
Jake kissed Valerie and took her hand to lead her back to the car. Gage did the same with me.
“Where are we going?” I didn’t like not knowing the secret all of them seemed to be keeping.
“It’s a surprise,” he assured me as he opened the back door for me.
“Okay,” I said as I slid into the back seat. I was dressed more for dancing, but I’d make this work for whatever we were doing.
I sat back and stared out the window as Jake drove. Lights shot past ahead of us. I looked over at Gage. He kept looking forward like he was deep in thought.
I reached for his hand. “You okay?”
He laced his fingers with mine and sighed.
“Just know that I want you.” He stared over with those same intense eyes. “I want to go do what we’re doing but when we go home, we’re going to my room.” His voice was a whisper, but the tone was nothing but raw need.
This was definitely serious. Jake stopped at an intersection and I looked around to see more bright lights and signs. Some of them started to look familiar. Could I really get used to all this? It was like I was in a dream.
“Are we on Hollywood Boulevard?”
Jake chuckled. “We’ll cruise it for you, if that’s okay? It’s a little shady at night sometimes.”
I nodded excitedly as Valerie looked back at me with a smile. I leaned forward as we turned and took it all in. Some of the butterflies eased in my stomach. I’d only seen it in the movies and on TV shows. It was all so surreal. It never really seemed like the place actually existed until it was right in front of my face.
The streets were crowded with people walking and shopping, hustling here and there. I knew I was being cheesy, but I loved every second of it. Valerie and I laughed as we pointed things out and talked about the people. I saw the stars on the sidewalk and cupped a palm over my mouth.
I knew I was being ridiculous, like living out some kind of teenage fantasy. But, it was awesome at the same time. I couldn’t stop grinning.
We finished the drive and Jake turned right into a darker area. I dropped back in my seat, still awestruck. “Thank you.”
He laughed. “No problem at all. You’re easy to impress.”
I felt Gage’s hand in my hair. I looked over and smiled weakly at him. The dim haze from the lights highlighted his cheek bones. I covered his hand with mine as the car eased forward. I was happy we didn’t go out as planned, but at the same time guilty because I knew Val gave up what she wanted to do so they could take me down the strip. She really was a good friend.
Jake pulled into a small parking lot and I stared out at the black nothingness. It was dark, and I squinted as Jake opened his door.
As soon as he opened it, I heard the familiar sounds though.
Gage’s fingers squeezed tighter around my hand, but he was still being all quiet and broody.
Jake glanced back at us. “It’s a beach. It’s pretty private. We can walk around without drawing attention. We always come here when we’re in town. Gage says it’s his good luck beach.”
The guys led us down a sandy path and like he’d said, it was empty. I gasped.
Many of the lights had faded all around us and it was lit up by moonlight and the stars. They glittered and danced across the waves.
“Wow, it’s gorgeous.” I took off my heels and carried them in my hand as we all walked down to the water. Valerie did the same, and we both squealed a little when the cold water found our toes.
“We need to find a way to buy a beach house,” Val whispered in my ear.

sp; “I know, right? Too bad we have to be grown-ups.”
She smiled at me. Everything was fast paced in our lives but in moments like these, time seemed to stop. I loved it. I needed more of it.
“I don’t wanna grow up.” She wrapped an arm around my shoulder and we sideways-hugged as we looked out over the water.
“I know.” I glanced over at Gage and Jake, who were chatting about something.
Eventually, we paired off with our guys. Val and Jake walked one way holding hands and Gage led me the other with his arm around my waist. I clutched my shoes and breathed in the air. I could practically feel the heat of his body burning through my dress. When we reached the end after a period of silence, Gage tossed the shoes into dry sand and pulled me to him for a long kiss. Both his palms were on my cheeks and he kissed me like he never wanted to let go. It was the most romantic thing I could imagine, and I was breathless when he pulled away.
In typical Bristol fashion, I decided to ruin the moment.
“What happened back there?”
His lips mashed into a thin line. “It’s nothing. You don’t need to worry about it.”
“Come on, Gage. You can talk to me.”
He let out a sigh and picked up a sea shell. He hurled it out onto the waves, then looked back at me. “You’ll never let this go, will you?”
I grinned and shook my head.
“She’s the reason I haven’t dated in a long time. She’s a poison.” His face darkened just speaking about her.
She must’ve really done a number on him.
I frowned and looked away.
“I never thought he’d be stupid enough to bring her, or that she’d have the balls to show up.”
“You were together?” What a stupid question. Why did this man make me so stupid all the time?
He sighed. “Sort of.”
I could feel his walls going back up as he stroked my cheek. “I just want simple. I just want my life to feel like this.”
