  A man stepped from behind the curtain on the stage wearing a suit. His eyes changed then he growled. “This is my territory!” he yelled.

Dayo jumped on him. Dayo and I sank our teeth into Sosa’s neck. A shot rang out then a few more. A few bullets hit Dayo in the back twice. They couldn’t have been normal bullets because they didn’t do anything to our kind; the bullets had to been specially made to be used against us. Another one rang out then hit Dayo again. I hurriedly ran up the wall onto the upper level where the bullets were coming from. Four human men had large guns aimed down at the pack.

  I hurriedly jumped onto one, tearing into his face as he screamed out. My teeth tore the flesh clean off his cheek. A bullet flew past me. I looked up and three of them had their guns aimed at me. A large, black snake slithered past me then wrapped around the three men. One man tried to shoot but he couldn’t, as the snake squeezed them, crushing their bones. The snake’s eyes were red, the color of blood.

  More men came out with their guns drawn.

  “If I were you, boys, I would drop them!” Ula said as she walked past me.

  “What are you doing, Ula?” one of them asked. She knew them.

  “Drop your guns or else,” she said.

  “Shoot the crazy bitch!” one of them side. A bullet pierced through Ula’s stomach. Her wound immediately closed up; she spat the bullet out of her mouth.

  “Your wife is going to need a closed casket for you,” she said then the shooter’s body caught on fire. More wolves ran from the back. I was surrounded by wolves and humans. I attacked the closest one to me then snapped his neck. A wolf jumped on me then he and I fell over the rail, crashing down onto the stage. I got up then charged into him but Elle got to his neck before I did.

The bullets had poison in them. Sosa’s wolves started to close in on us. I stood in front of Dayo, ready to die to protect him. Dash’s wounds closed up as soon as Goon bit him. His strength came from Musaf’s spell. An army of humans guarded Sosa as they escorted him to the back. Screams came from the upper level; I knew Ula was behind it.

  Goon’s beast slammed Dash into the wall then he evolved.

  What the hell, I thought to myself. Goon transformed into a tall, black beast with a body like a man. His snout grew out and his teeth were sharper. A gold plate covered his chest; he was in his ancient form. He picked Dash’s big beast up by the back of its neck. Goon opened his mouth then tore Dash’s head off. Bullets started flying at Goon but they bounced off of him. He picked up three men at the same time then bit into them. Another bullet flew at him then he turned the human into ashes that shot at him. Once they saw that they couldn’t kill him they ran. Some got away but a few turned into ashes. After the coast was clear, Goon walked over to Dayo. Elle and I stood back as Goon howled. He picked Dayo up then sucked the poison out of his wounds. Moments later, Goon’s body fell then he turned back to his human form.
