She smiled and felt warmed inside.

She moved closer to him and stared deep into his eyes, and he reached for her, pulling her close to him and kissing her hard on the mouth again. She wrapped her arms around him and let him search her mouth with his tongue, as he roughly pushed her up against the glass and grunted with want and need.

She ran her fingers through his hair and he groaned, and then he nibbled her lip lightly and smiled at her. They looked into each other’s eyes and for a moment, she thought he was going to tell her more, but then he closed off just as soon as the window of opportunity had opened.

“Are you married?” she asked him, somewhat crestfallen.

He laughed and shook his head.

“No, I’m not,” he said sternly and then he looked at her as if he was pained. “I’m just damaged goods, that’s all.”

The admission wasn’t surprising, but it still left a lasting impression. She wanted to tell him that she was too, that she knew what it was like to have your heart broken. But there was part of her that had the feeling what had wrecked him was something completely different altogether. Something she couldn’t possibly understand.

She smiled and took hold of his hand.

“Shall we sit outside?” he asked her. “I can light the tiki torches.”

“That sounds perfect,” she smiled as she wrapped her arms around herself.

He opened the glass doors and collected a selection of blankets and then he carried them out onto the veranda that overlooked the beach and the ocean. Even though the sun had set, the moon was big and bright, and it was shining light down across the black waves. On the outside of the house, little lights were dotted along the walls, and there were tiki torches and festoon lighting which added to the atmosphere around the big, old wooden table.

Melissa sat down, and she pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped a blanket around herself, and it wasn’t long before Nate reappeared with a bottle of red wine and two glasses.

He uncorked it and poured them both a drink before he passed her a glass.

She took it from him and waited for him to take his seat, and then she raised her glass toward his and thought of what to say.

“To… tonight…” she said with a wry smile on her face.

Nate looked at her and smiled back at her too.

They both knew what the other wanted, and it was becoming harder and harder to subdue the attraction that was sizzling away between them.

Melissa began to feel hot under the collar and she squeezed her legs together, she chewed her lip and then sipped her drink, and she ran a hand through her hair just to try and focus her mind on anything but him being naked and on top of her.

She knew she was blushing, so she looked down toward the floor.

“So, who’s place is it?” she asked finally. “Yours? Or are you leasing it?”

  “Neither,” he smiled. “It’s a friend’s.”

“Really?” she asked him. “Who? Maybe I know them.”

“You don’t know them,” he said as he put his chin in his hand and stared back at her with amusement.

“This town is pretty goddam small,” she laughed. “I’m sure if your friend own’s a house here, then, at some point, I’ll have run into them.”

He shook his head and winked.

“You’re becoming insufferable with all of the mystery,” she said as she slugged her drink. “I don’t know how much more of it I can take.”

“I promised I’d tell you,” he said.

She looked at him and knew she was pouting, but she ended up just shrugging and turning away so she could look out over the ocean instead.

“And what was this thing you had to show me? I mean, obviously apart from the amazing view,” she said snappily.

He smirked and got to his feet and walked back inside. She turned her head to look over her shoulder discreetly and she could see that he had moved toward a desk in the far corner of the room. He turned on a light and it illuminated a scatter of blueprints and paperwork, and she quickly looked away before he turned to see that she was watching.

Her heart beat on and she swallowed hard.

  What was he up to…

“Here,” he said as he came out and spread a selection of papers out in front of her. “What do you think of this?”

Melissa looked down at the images and words in front of her and she grimaced. It all just looked like a foreign language to her and she didn’t even fully know what she was looking at, so she sat back and sighed.

“A little explanation may be needed,” she said with a half laugh.

“Well,” he began. “This is a proposal, and this is a building plan. If you had the choice of expanding something you felt you had already made brilliant, or diving into something new… what would you pick…?”

She stared at him and then back down to the paperwork on the table.

“None of that explains what this is in front of me,” she laughed and sipped her wine.

“The company I work for,” he said vaguely. “They’re in the process of either selling out or continuing on… but sometimes, the people at the top say they think they’ve gone as far as they can with this idea and they’re ready to move on to something new. But then, should they abandon what they initially started?”

“If they’ve gone as far as they can with it, then I guess?” she said. “But would they ever have the same passion again for the new venture? I doubt it…”

He thought on it for a moment and he smiled.

  “You think?” he asked.

“If that was their original concept and idea that they have made successful,” she continued. “Then it will always be special… what else could ever take its place?”

“So, you think they should hold on to control and expand it their own way?”

“I think too many people sell out for ease,” she said with a shrug. “Oh, look, I created this and now someone has placed value on it… better cash in and give over all control while I can. What was the point in the first place? Why not just love what you’ve created and never let your vision be lost? You can’t put a price on genius. And once powerhouses get involved, they only go and make it the same as everything else out there.”

Nate nodded his head and looked impressed.

“No one has ever put it like that before,” he said. “Sometimes, I think it’s easy to lose sight of what is important.”

Melissa shrugged and said, “Not if you value the right things. Importance can be put on anything, it’s the moral fiber behind it that makes it something unique and worthwhile.”

Nate leaned forward and took hold of her hand.

“So innocent and wise,” he said as he cupped her face with his big hand and kissed her hard on the mouth.

She hadn’t been expecting him to take what she had said so literally, but she had clearly struck a chord. She did believe her words though, she had seen so many things become ruined by corporations, she felt strongly that unique ideas should be preserved rather than exploited for financial gain.

“And this has kept you awake at night?” she asked with amusement as their lips broke apart and they looked into each other’s eyes.

“When I’m in, I’m all in,” he said with a smile. “I’ve been out here to finish up some work and figure out my take on things.”

“So you must be pretty important then,” she said. “If the onus is on you to make the decisions.”

He got to his feet and took hold of her hand and pulled her up to meet him. It was as if the conversation had gotten too deep, too fast, and it was going to lead to something else. She breathed him in and was completely lost for words as he held her there and stared deep into her eyes.

“I’ve been here alone for two weeks,” he whispered as his lips grazed hers. “But the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew I wanted you here with me.”

She felt her knees go weak and her lip trembled.

“You’re cold?” he whispered as he began to pull her
back toward the doorway and into the cozy warmth of the living area.

“I’m just…” she stopped and smiled. “I’m just blown away.”

He kissed her again and ran his fingers through her hair before he pulled her down onto the couch and climbed on top of her. She gasped as he trailed kisses down her neck, cupped her breasts and pushed his manhood against her. He was so hard, and it was rubbing up and down on her in exactly the right place, creating friction and making her hotter and hotter. She moaned and threw her head back and he pinned her wrists up high and stared down at her.

“I mean it when I say if I’m in, I’m all in…” he whispered, his breath hot on her face. “I don’t get close or do things like this unless I really feel it.”

She looked up at him and, in that moment, she knew exactly what he meant. And she felt it too. Together, there was something exceptional building between them.

“Are you all in, Melissa?” he asked as he stared into her eyes and she smiled up at him as she noticed how much experience he had behind his own. She could see that he was a man who would always tell the truth. He was open and he was asking for the same from her.

  “I am,” she whispered.

He kissed her and swept her up into his arms as they rolled across the couch and down onto the floor, bashing down onto it hard and laughing as their noses bumped together.

“I’m clearly a little rusty,” Melissa giggled.

Nate rose to his feet and pulled her with him, and then he wrapped his arm around her and led her into the darkened hallway of the house.

When he kicked open the door to the bedroom, she gasped at how beautiful it was first, before he swept her off her feet and down onto the bed. The bed was big and in the center of the room, covered in pure white linens and overlooking the ocean, with another incredible set of glass doors that stretched the full length of the wall.

Nate moved between her legs and kissed her again and again, as he reached for her top and pulled it over her head, exposing her bra and making her skin prickle with anticipation. He kissed her shoulders, her neck, her clavicles and the tops of her breasts, before he reached up and looked down at her as he pulled his t-shirt over his head.

When she caught sight of his godlike body, she honestly couldn’t believe her eyes.

He was big and muscular, perfectly tanned and covered in tattoos. He looked like the ultimate bad boy, and someone in everyday life she would have been almost afraid of. But here she was in bed with him, and she was about to let him do anything to her that he may desire.

  She meant it too.

  She was all in.

She ran her hands up his rock hard abs and he groaned as she scratched her long, manicured nails down his skin. He lowered himself down and kissed her again, wrapped his arms tightly around her, showing her how powerful he was. Even right there, she knew that he had the strength to break her, and the strength to make her feel things that no one ever had before.

She could feel the hard press of his cock in between her legs and each time he moved on top of her, rubbing himself against her panties, she moaned and gasped. She was so ready for him, and when he slipped his hands into her underwear and found her wet and aching pussy, she was already on the verge of unravelling right then and there.

She grasped for the belt on his jeans and flicked the buckle open, at the same time as he slid a big, fat finger right up inside of her.

She gasped and threw her head back, grinding her hips up to meet his hand and shrieking with pleasure. He pinned her down and pumped it in and out of her, and when she could barely take it anymore, he pulled his hand away and helped her release him from his jeans.

When he pulled them down and revealed his incredible length, Melissa knew she was in trouble, but it was going to be in the best kind of way. He kicked his jeans off and removed the rest of her clothes expertly with one hand, and then he grabbed hold of her hips and pulled her to the very edge of the bed.

She trembled as he clutched onto her thighs and lowered his face down between her legs to eat her pussy. He licked her clit with his hot tongue before he flicked it in and out of her and sent her on the most incredible wave of pleasure she had ever experienced.

She could barely see for the stars swimming around her. She was dizzy and completely floating on air. When he sucked on her hard and good, she bucked her hips and exploded in an incredible release as she gripped onto his hair and shook beneath him.

She was gasping and moaning, and before she knew what was happening, he was on top of her again rubbing his huge, hard cock up and down her opening and plunging deep inside of her.

“Oh My God!” she wailed as she wrapped her legs around him tightly and he thrust into her again and again.

She was coming for the second time, and Nate looked down at her with a glint in his eye as he took hold of her wrists and pinned them back against the headboard. He kissed her neck and sent shivers down her spine, as his own thighs began to tense and he groaned out in pleasure.

“Yes,” he said through gritted teeth. “Fuck!”

His legs shook as he exploded inside of her, pinning her down into the mattress and spilling his seed right up inside of her.

They ground their hips together harder still, and she felt his cock jerk and spasm inside of her as she moaned and held him tightly, never wanting the moment to end, and never wanting him to leave her body.

“All in,” he panted as he took hold of her face and kissed her again.

“As am I,” she whispered as she looked into his deep, dark eyes.

He smiled and kissed her forehead.

What was happening was bigger than them both. And now, they knew that they were up against the forces of love and the universe.

  7.

As the sun rose, they lay together in each other’s arms and listened to the sound of the ocean and the waves breaking against the shore. They had barely slept a wink, choosing instead to make love all night and get to know each other’s bodies in the most intimate of ways.

Nate held onto her as she lay on top of him between his legs and they stared into each other’s eyes. A white sheet was wrapped messily around them both and was twisted up in Melissa’s legs, as he smiled at her and ran his hands through her hair.

“I’m so glad I chose this little town,” he said genuinely.

  “So am I,” she giggled.

“I nearly didn’t,” he said as his fingertips traced down her cheek and down to her chin. “I almost went East.”

“What’s East?” she asked as she cocked her head to the side.

“More distance,” he smiled sadly. “I’ve been pretty stressed with everything.”

“But why?” she asked, and she felt her heart dip a little, as if she could tell that he was about to lower the boom.

“You really don’t know, do you?” he asked in a whisper.

Melissa furrowed her brow and shook her head.

“What do you mean?” she asked.

He smiled and scratched his beard and then he rolled her off him so he could pull her up close to him as they both laid on their sides staring into each other’s eyes.

“What I do, it’s pretty public,” he said.

“What do you mean?” She was beginning to get more confused by the second.

“I’m by no means a famous face,” he whispered. “But I do have a public profile, and a lot of people know how I am.”

She felt her heart skip a beat.

  “Huh?” she asked.

“Have you ever heard of Gold-Ghost?” he asked warily.

Melissa’s eyes widened and she nodded her head.

“I’m behind it all,” he whispered. “It’s my creation. I am the guy.”

She felt her jaw sag a little and she sat up and pulled the sheet firmly around her. She had to take a moment to get her head around things.

This man she was lying in bed with…

  He wasn’t just Nate anymore…

  He was Nathan Woods.

Tech entrepreneur and infamous billionaire.

  She swallowed hard.

“I’ve heard of you,” she said. “But I never would have known…”

“Most people, especially out here, wouldn’t recognize me,” he said. “And even more so with this…” he ran his hands across his chin, so they scratched against his beard.

And Melissa still couldn’t believe what he was telling her.

Gold-Ghost had been one of those huge Silicon Valley companies that had exploded a few years before. It had been all over the news, the apps they had created had done so well they had been inundated with offers from bigger companies to buy them out.

And she was sitting naked with its creator.

Suddenly, she felt all kinds of nervous.

“So this is why you’ve been so guarded?” she asked as she looked down at him. “But why?”

“I didn’t want to ruin anything,” he said as he kissed her shoulder and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Back home, people do know who I am, and all of the women there have an agenda. I’ve done well at staying single and out of the clutches of someone with an impure heart. In fact, I’ve actively avoided intimacy. I don’t want to be with someone who is just another drain, someone who wants to suck my soul dry and use me up. I can’t fucking stand it. Hell, I can’t fucking stand women and all of their demands, their needs for perfection. But then I came here, and I met you, and everything changed. You’ve changed me… you’ve made me see what a real life could truly be like…”

He trailed off and was staring out at the horizon.

Melissa swallowed and felt tears pricking the corners of her eyes.

He had been scared she would only have liked him for what he had, not who he was… and he was also worried about scaring her away too. He was so deeply troubled and conflicted, but with her, he was opening up and he was willing to try. He wanted her.

“This is a lot to take in,” he said. “I know it may seem a little overwhelming.”

“It really doesn’t,” she half laughed. “None of that matters. The person I’ve gotten to know, isn’t Nathan Woods, creator of Gold-Ghost… it’s Nate. Some rugged guy on a motorcycle who rode into my little town one day and stole my heart. I haven’t seen any other side of you than this… and I’m already crazy about you, Nate…”
