He would not grant her mercy. She didn't need mercy, but the certainty of his dependability, his leadership, his control. His attention.
Freedom, peace, tranquility.
She would slip, and so would he. They were only human, and it would take time to learn how to fill their respective roles in such a way that each would feel satisfied. But in the meantime, he'd make every effort to watch her cues, urge her to be open with him, and teach her to obey him.
He felt himself growing hard again, at the thought of her over his lap, bared to him and vulnerable.
Fucking beautiful.
He didn't like punishing her. But shit, he couldn't lie to himself. That choice of hers—the struggle, he could see it in her eyes, when she was tempted to push or turn away—when she won that internal battle and submitted to him, it made him feel like a fucking king. The power she granted him, knowing she gave that part of her to no one but him. Her over his knee… God, he needed to feel her over his knee again. He stirred in his chair, the mere thought of her over his lap again a fucking aphrodisiac.
He glanced back at the clock. Five minutes.
Where was she? He glared at his phone. She'd texted fifteen minutes ago that she was on her way home, and it was only a five-minute drive. What the hell? Did she think he was fucking around with this? If she decided she wasn't going to take him seriously… He could feel it. Now that she'd unleashed his full power as dominant, how and when to respond to her felt like a sixth sense.
If he had to punish her, he would keep his temper in check as he ordered her to the room. Yeah, she'd still be sore from the day before but he'd keep her sore if it meant keeping her in her place.
He had to. She needed that from him.
Hell, he didn't want to start their night off by punishing her, but he would give her what she needed, even if that meant a sound spanking.
He crossed his arms on his chest as he glared at the clock. The first day? Really? She had to test him on the first day back?
But as he looked at the clock, he heard the car pull into the driveway. The car door slammed, and he heard footsteps coming up the walkway.
Paolo smiled.
His baby was home.
