When Jace stepped back again, Don had already moved back into the shadows and Jace was glad that it was just the three of them on the small stage. He wanted all of Holly’s attention focused on her two Masters and the pleasure they were bringing to her body. She didn’t realize it yet, but she owned both of her Doms. She held their hearts and souls in the palms of her dainty little hands.

  Chapter 30

  Five months later

Holly stared out the window of the waiting room watching the raindrops as they raced one another to the bottom of the floor to ceiling glass looking out over the lush strolling gardens of the private obstetrics clinic and birthing center. She had tuned out all of those around her, preferring to utter her prayers for her friend in private. Callie McGregor had gone into labor on her exact due date, but that seemed like it was the last thing that had gone right. They’d been waiting several hours and all they’d heard was that there had been some kind of “major event” as the nurse had referred to it and that Callie’s entire medical team was working frantically to save both the mother and her precious baby girl.

Lost in thought, Holly smiled to herself as she remembered the fun she and Callie had shared over the past few months. They had become fast friends and had spent a lot of time together since Holly worked from home and Callie had cut back on her hours at the resort now that it was fully operational and in the hands of the top-notch management team Callie and Ian had selected.

Holly and Callie had enjoyed hitting garage sales despite the fact that neither they nor their husbands were financially strapped. They’d found a few bargains and Holly had loved watching Callie’s eyes light up when she found something that was “just right and cheap, too.” It was refreshing to see someone who hadn’t forgotten what it was like to struggle and who also seemed so totally unaffected by her sudden wealth.

Looking up to see Ian step inside the room, Holly saw him call over her Aunt Daphne and Jace. They huddled for long moments and then Ian slipped back outside the room. Holly started to see black dots in front of her eyes and it was then that Gage’s words broke through the fog, “Take a breath, sweetheart. Come on, you need to stay strong for your friend, don’t panic until you hear what Ian had to say.” She drew in a deep breath at his command and only then did she realize he knelt next to her chair and was holding her shaking hands in his. He was using his large, warm hands to massage her cold fingers. When she focused on his face, he smiled and kissed each of her palms before pulling her to her feet and walking her over to where Jace and Daphne were telling the others what Ian had shared.

Jace was speaking as they walked up, “As I said, Ian said they are cautiously optimistic that both Callie and their daughter will be fine. Evidently she had what the doctors called a major bleed and had they not already been here, they’d have most certainly lost both of them.” He turned to Holly and smiled, “Ian said that in the brief moments that Callie was awake she was insistent that he accompany their daughter if she is transferred to a larger facility and she asked that you stay here with her. Ian has very reluctantly agreed to do that but as his friend I can tell you it is eating him alive, so let’s hope that doesn’t come to that.”

Seeing the agony in Ian’s expression had been almost enough to do Jace in, and now watching as Holly went stark white his heart clenched even tighter. Gage had his arm wrapped tightly around her waist and Jace saw him tighten it, so he knew Gage had noticed her reaction. “Pet, Ian felt like both his girls were on the mend now and they’ll be transfusing her again as soon as they locate an AB negative donor because they didn’t have enough on-site. Ian will fly a donor here if they can locate one.”

Jace felt Holly’s hand on his forearm, “I’m AB negative, let’s go.” Holly turned and walked out of the clinic’s small waiting room, leaving Jace and Gage to scramble to keep up as she race-walked to the nurse’s station.

Four hours later, they led their weak but very happy wife in to see her best friend. The two women hugged and after tearful thanks and congratulations, they made their way out the door with promises to visit again tomorrow after mama and baby Carly had gotten some much needed rest. Just as they all stepped into the hall Ian called out to them. Running to catch up before they reached the elevator, he pulled Holly into a tight hug. “I’ll never forget what you did for my family, Holly. Anything that you ever need—if it’s within my power to get it—it’s yours. Don’t hesitate to call me—ever.”

Jace watched Holly look up at Ian and smile, “Ian, the only thing I’ll ever ask of you is that you be the best husband and father you can be. I love Callie and I can’t wait to get to know your beautiful daughter as well. Carly is gorgeous and I fully intend to the best faux-aunt ever.” She smiled and hugged Ian again before pulling back. “Don’t ever throw material goods at either of your ladies and think that it’s good enough. Shower them with your love and affection, make sure they have a bit of your undivided attention each and every day. Those are the only things I’ll ever ask of you.” Holly hugged Ian one last time and then said, “Go. They need you.”

Watching a single tear slide down Ian McGregor’s cheek was a moment in time Jace knew he would never forget. After Ian turned to walk down the hall, he pivoted and pinned Jace and Gage both with a look that was pure Ian McGregor the Dominant and billionaire businessman, “Take very good care of her, she is a very important member of my family.” He waited until they both nodded their understanding before turning once more to make his way back to Callie’s room.

Gage pulled Holly into his embrace and then turned slightly so that she was sandwiched between both he and Jace. “Damn, baby, you are un-fucking-believable. If I wasn’t already totally in love with you, your words to Ian would have cinched it. I thought my heart would burst with pride knowing you are ours.” He watched as her eyes softened and became shiny with her unshed tears. “I am humbled that you’re my wife and that someday we’ll be the ones walking back into your room after you’ve become the mother of our child. Hell, I hope there are several of those occasions.” He leaned down and pressed a feathered kiss against the silky hair on the top of her head. “I love you with my entire heart, sweetheart. I just needed to remind you.”

“I love you too, Gage…I love both you and Jace more than I can begin to tell you.” She shifted just enough that she could see both he and Jace. Placing a soft, warm palm on each of their faces, her voice had gone bedroom soft. Gage had always marveled at how sweet Holly’s voice was in their everyday interactions, but in the bedroom it became softer and deeper. The timbre of her words felt like sun warmed silk gliding over his skin and never ceased to enflame him. “You and Jace saved me, not just from that crazy preacher, but also from myself. You’ve opened the doors to my heart and let me know that all the longings I’d had weren’t wrong just because they didn’t meet the expectations of the other people in my life. There isn’t any greater gift than enlightenment and acceptance.”

Holly’s green eyes were fast approaching the deep emerald they became when she was aroused letting Gage know it was time to get her someplace private before they were all naked and giving the clinic’s staff and visitors something to talk about for the next twenty or thirty years. Gage couldn’t remember a time in his life when he had felt more complete, standing here—knowing the woman who owned his heart was happy and fulfilled because of his love was just about as good as it got. Sharing her with a man he’d always considered one of his dearest friends—a man that he respected and trusted—was icing on the cake.

Gage watched as Jace smiled at Holly indulgently, “Pet, we need to get home. My need to fuck you is becoming almost more than I can control. We are only ten minutes from here and Ian will not hesitate to call us if he needs us.” He leaned forward and brushed his lips teasingly over hers, “I need you, my love. I’ll always need you. You complete me. But right now, I need you naked and under me, and if you don’t want to do that in this hallway you need to step into that elevator.” Gage was s
ure she hadn’t even noticed the doors slide open or that he was holding them for her, but Jace’s words had spurred her to action.

Just as they walked into their home Jace and Gage’s phones both sounded with messages. Jace glanced at his first, and saw it was from Kalen so he decided to take a quick look. Since the man wasn’t prone to chitchat the message was likely important.

Abby’s primary tracker is off-line. Requesting permission to activate secondary. Will advise if we encounter a problem.

Jace quickly replied giving his team the go-ahead for the secondary tracker. Abby’s job took her all over the globe and not everyone was thrilled with the headway his sister was making in her quest to find viable sources and applications for renewable energy. He and Ian had worked closely with Mitch Grayson to create three different trackers in order to ease their own minds that Abby was always safe, or at the very least they could always find her to check for themselves. Abby knew about the primary and secondary systems, but they hadn’t shared the fail-safe system with her. Hell, she’d raised seven kinds of hell with him and Ian when they’d insisted on the first two systems.

Abby was absolutely brilliant, but she often became so engrossed in what she was working that her own safety took a backseat to whatever grindstone she had her nose pressed firmly against. She was also notorious for failing to replace the small batteries in the waterproof bracelet they’d given her. If the small batteries weren’t changed every six months, the device would suddenly go off-line. It happened often enough that Jace had warned her about the little boy who cried wolf because he didn’t want his team to get complacent about instituting the security protocol procedure they had established. Luckily it appeared Kaden was in the control center today so Jace was confident he’d have the issue resolved in short order. Damn genius sister anyway, I swear the little imp knows when I’m about to sink my aching cock deep in my woman and she acts out just to annoy my ass. She ragged my ass about making her an aunt, and then she pulls this crap.

When Jace looked up he saw the concern in Holly’s eyes—it was time to erase that and replace it was arousal and longing. Even though they’d given Holly several swats at the club for failing to tell them about her appointment and for opening the door without checking who was on the other side, they’d kept things fairly light since it was her first public scene. She had responded well and Jace was looking forward to trying something more intense soon.

Moving so that he was close enough to press a soft kiss against her forehead, Jace said, “Don’t worry about anything except how fast you can get naked and get upstairs, pet. Because your Masters intend to give you one swat for each second you are dressed after we are both naked, and love, we are damned fast when we’re motivated.” He waggled his eyebrows at her and smiled as he heard Gage’s chuckle from behind him. When she didn’t move, he grabbed the front of his own shirt and ripped it open sending buttons flying in all directions. He saw her eyes go as wide as saucers and heard her gasp of surprise, but then she turned and took off running toward the bedroom. He heard her shriek of laughter and saw she was shedding her clothes as she ran. She had literally left a trail of clothing all the way down the hall.

He turned toward Gage and smiled, “Well, that was pretty effective. Guess we’d better get a move on. Seems like a waste for our beautiful sub to be naked and alone.”

Gage nodded, his soft laugh lightening his words, “She’s so fucking perfect. I can’t believe she’s ours. Let’s go make sure she’s so happy and sated she never wants to be anywhere but between us—forever.”

  THE END

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

For years, I was accused of living in “Fantasy Land” so I decided to put it to use and started writing. I enjoy creating characters who are loveable but never perfect, who live in and visit all the places I’d love to go, and who overcome obstacles to find the sexy happily ever after I believe we all deserve. I fall in love with the characters I create and enjoy making them each wacky and wonderful in their own way.

The only consistent trait in my heroines is their inability to cook and that is the only trait they each have “inherited” from me. When I’m not working at my very ordinary job, I am either writing or reading. And even though my family professes to support my writing efforts, I’m fairly certain they are merely glad to see I’ve finally found an outlet for what they considered an over-the-top imagination.
