Redeeming Gavin

“That’s my girl.” He kissed her mouth, letting his tongue roam along hers as she came undone.
While she took short breaths, he unbuckled his belt. “Turn around and get on your knees.” He lowered his pants before positioning himself behind her. The view of her smooth, round backside filled him with desire as he grasped his cock. “I’ve thought about doing this all day.”
“Don’t wait anymore.” She arched her backside when he ran his tip along her slit. “Please.” She gripped the arm of the sofa when he thrust full force inside her. “Whoa.” She jolted forward.
“Hell.” He took hold of her hip while encasing the other around her torso, keeping her close to his chest as he slammed in and out of her. “I missed you in my bed this weekend.”
“I’m sorry.” She rested the back of her head on his shoulder, gazing into his eyes.
“Don’t apologize.” He dipped his head to kiss her. “Just don’t leave me again.”
“I won’t. I know where I belong.”
Swooping her hair in his hand, he trailed his lips along her neck. As he slowed his motion inside her, his body quivered with need. Moving his hand to her heat, he rubbed her entrance. His balls tightened when her muscles clutched his shaft.
“Baby, I...” He closed his eyes and let go, releasing deep inside her slick sex. As he flexed his hips, she dropped forward, resting over the sofa. She trembled with a soft, long climax. He sat down, bringing her into his lap, kissing her gently.
“That’s definitely the way to end the work day.” She giggled. “I’m glad I came to see you.”
“I was going to come to your house tonight.” He squeezed her to him. “I was just giving you some space.”
“I don’t need space from you.” She wrapped her arms around his neck. “I’m certain of that. I just get a little crazy when I think about the baby and doing it all on my own. I wanted Carson to accept responsibility but I know that won’t happen.”
“You’re not going to do anything on your own.” He swiped the hair from her cheek. “I would never have made him that offer if I didn’t intend to care for you and your child.”
“You shouldn’t have to do that.” She rested her head on his shoulder and when he looked down at her he realized just how vulnerable she was. She may act brave and strong, but deep down she needed him as much as he needed her. “This isn’t your mess.”
“I don’t see any of this as a mess.” Now that he had intervened with Carson it was time for him to take more of an active role in her life. “You need to know that I don’t view you as a responsibility. I’m not just here for the sex although it’s really great sex.” He grinned. “I’m here because I want to be with you. I want to see where this goes.”
“So do I.”
“Why don’t we get dressed and I’ll take you to dinner?”
“Aren’t you busy?”
“There’s nothing on my desk that can’t wait.” He kissed the top of her head. “Besides I’ve worked up an appetite.”
“From the really great sex?” She smiled with pride.
“Exactly.”
“Can I pick the place?”
“Absolutely.” He lifted her off his lap and gathered her clothes. “You can use my bathroom.”
“Thank you.” She took her things from him.
“What do you want to eat?”
“Brick oven pizza, that salad with the raspberry vinaigrette, that cool zucchini appetizer, oh and the cheesecake with the caramel sauce.” She scurried toward the bathroom. “Can we go now?”
Did she know how adorable she was? How much I adore her?
“I’ll call ahead and get us a table by the window.”
“Sweet.” She disappeared into the bathroom, humming as she closed the door behind her. He had made her day and in turn, that made his.
How had he stumbled onto her? He’d spent many sleepless nights wondering if he deserved such an extraordinary woman. He hadn’t come to a conclusion on that question but there was one thing he was sure of. No matter what became of the two of them, he’d always take care of her.
Chapter Ten
Gavin looked over the contracts that Brody had left him. Everything seemed in order. One of them had to go to Boston to close the deal. Gavin offered to do it. There was no reason they both needed to go, and Brody had just gotten back from California. Glancing at his watch, he decided he needed to finish up if he wanted to get home at a reasonable hour. Justine had left an hour ago but Dominick would be picking her up and bringing her to his place for their Friday night date.
“Hi.”
Gavin drew his attention away from his computer to find Jackie standing in his doorway. “You’re here late,” he said. “Did you need something?”
“A bunch of us are going to Duke’s in a few minutes.”
She swayed into his office wearing a sleeveless shirt and a pair of faded jeans. She must have changed after work. Her hair was free from the clip she usually had it secured with, allowing her wild curls to cascade down her back. She appeared more youthful and less obnoxious when she dressed casual.
“Do you want to come with us?”
“You’d really want the boss to come out with you?”
“Are you kidding? Half the women in this office would freak if you came out with us.”
“Would they?” He wasn’t sure what to make of her comment.
“Let’s just say we find the Callahan brothers quite intriguing. We only know the men who run this company. We’re curious what you’re really like. You know, outside this place.”
“I’ll have to take a raincheck.” He stood from his desk, shutting down his computer and slipping his tablet into his case. “Thank you for the invitation but I have plans.”
“With Justine?”
Did it matter? He put on his suit jacket and straightened his tie.
“You don’t really strike me as a one woman type of guy.”
“I wasn’t aware that you knew me at all.” He’d never been put off when a woman was interested in him but there was something about this particular woman he didn’t care for.
“Oh, don’t be offended. You seem like a guy who likes to have fun.”
“I do like to have fun.” He motioned toward the door. “My definition of fun isn’t the same as it was a few years ago.”
“I guess if it works for you.”
“It does.” He waited for her to exit his office before he closed the door. “Have a good time tonight.”
“If you change your mind you know where I’ll be.”
I won’t change my mind. “Thanks.”
What could she be thinking? She seemed so professional but flirting with him bordered on inappropriate. Maybe he was so put off because he was only interested in Justine. Was this what it felt like to truly belong to someone else?

Justine placed the trays she had brought to Gavin’s house in the warming drawer. She made him lasagna, meatballs, and sausage. His favorite. It helped that Dominick picked her up. He escorted her up to the penthouse, carrying the trays. She’d made him a to-go platter. He seemed excited to have a home cooked meal. She promised him whenever she cooked for Gavin she’d make him a container too.
Just as she finished setting the table Gavin came into the foyer. She ran down the hall to greet him as he hung up his suit jacket. He’d already removed his tie and unbuttoned the first few buttons of his shirt. Hot!
“Hi!’ She launched herself into his waiting arms. “You’re home!”
“Knowing you were here waiting for me motivated me to leave work as soon as I could.”
He kissed her as he spun them in a slow circle. Her heart rate increased. The kiss, his scent, the stubble on his jaw, his crisp light gray dress shirt, and those eyes. Those incredibly mesmerizing eyes. Just the mere action of him coming through the door totally captivated her.
“I can’t stop thinking about you.” She rested her hands on his forearms as he lowered her feet to the floor.
When we aren’t together you’re constantly on my mind.”
“I’m right there with you, sweetheart.”
“Kiss me.”
He did as she asked, taking his time to explore her mouth as his hands roamed her backside. His erection was prominent against her thigh and it gave her an idea. Kissing his jaw, she worked her way down his throat, reaching for his belt buckle.
He tugged on her hair, holding her head still and staring into her eyes.
“There are emotions that I feel when I’m with you that I can’t articulate. Most days I’m overcome by the thought of you.” She unbuckled his belt. “There are so many things I want to say but I’m afraid it won’t make sense. I’m all over the place when it comes to you.”
“You just described how I feel about you.”
“Because we’re in sync.” She slinked down his muscular frame and dropped to her knees.
“What are you doing?”
“I think you know.” She lowered his zipper, tugging his pants and boxers down his legs. She licked her lips when his length sprang free. “I want you in my mouth.”
“Fuck!” He hissed when she gripped his shaft, leaning forward she licked the underside of it, swirling her tongue around the tip. “Baby, I can’t... you shouldn’t be on your knees.”
“I shouldn’t?” She continued to lick his tip. “You don’t want me to do this?”
“I didn’t say that.” He ran his fingers along her scalp, gripping her ponytail. “It’s just we can move this to the couch where you’ll be more comfortable.”
“I appreciate your concern but I’m fine right where I am.” She opened her mouth and took him all the way in.
He twisted her ponytail around his hand, yanking her head back and forth. Control freak. She didn’t mind when he deviated from his gentle, tender ways when it came to sex. She often wondered if he was holding back because she was pregnant. Not that she was complaining about their intimate time. It was always pleasurable but she wanted him to let go.
“God...” he moaned. “Your mouth is amazing.”
“Hmm...” She hummed around him as she pumped what she couldn’t fit in her mouth into her hand, although her gag reflex did allow her to deep throat him a few times. When she did that he thrust his hips forward, jerking her hair harder.
She could taste the saltiness of his pre-cum mixed with her saliva. The faster she sucked, the quicker his pelvis moved against her face. She rested her free hand on his muscular thigh. He’d taken over completely, setting the pace with her hair as he thrust in and out of her.
“Jus... I’m gonna...” With one long, low groan he released his warm cum into her mouth. Removing the rubber band from her hair he massaged her scalp as his climax came to an end.
Always taking care of me. She released him from his mouth and sat back on her heels, feeling quite aroused herself but she was certain that wouldn’t last long.
He adjusted his pants before dropping to his knees to face her. “What got into you?”
“When I saw you here in the foyer looking all sexy in your suit I couldn’t help myself. I wanted to show you how much I wanted to please you.”
“You did.” He took her face between his hands and kissed her gently. “I’m very pleased.”
“Welcome to the weekend, Mr. Callahan. I’ll spend the next two days showing you how much I appreciate you.”
“It’s only fair that I do the same for you.” He stood, lifting her into his arms and carrying her to the family room. When they went by the kitchen he smiled. “Something smells really good.”
“I made dinner,” she said as he set her on the couch. “It’s in the warming drawer so we can eat whenever you’re ready.”
“When did you have time to cook?” He settled in next to her. “You didn’t leave work early.”
“I prepared most of it last night and just put the finishing touches on before Dominick picked me up.” She swiped her hair up and into a messy bun. She had a feeling she’d have lots of sex hair tonight. “He’s so sweet.”
“Dominick?”
“He helped me carry everything upstairs.”
“Next time you should cook here, if you wanted to.”
“Are you kidding me? I’m dying to use that gourmet kitchen of yours. It’s so big and everything is brand new. It would be a breeze to whip up a meal in there.”
“My kitchen is your kitchen.”
“That’s very kind of you.” My heart is your heart.
“I can think of a few other ways I could be kinder.” He guided her onto her back. “I might owe you something.”
“You don’t owe me anything.” Don’t you know you’ve already given me the world?
“No?” He unbuttoned her shirt, gliding his fingers down her stomach and to the band of her leggings. “Are you sure?”
“Well, if you’re giving them freely.” She licked her lips. “I’m not going to object.”
“I’m going to be gone for five days.” He tugged her pants off and kissed his way up her legs. “I want to make sure you’re completely satisfied before I get on that plane.”
“If I’m with you I’m more than satisfied.”
“Then lie back and enjoy because this weekend is all about pleasure.”
“Mmm...” She closed her eyes and lost herself in the bliss only he could give her.
Chapter Eleven
Justine rushed back to the lobby after using the restroom so she wouldn’t be late for her shift. Her bladder was no longer cooperating with her and she had to pee every day before starting work. Just as she turned the corner, Gavin greeted her by whisking her to a small area behind the elevators.
“Gavin!” She wrapped her arms around his neck as he kissed her. He ran his hands down her sides before resting them on her hips. He squeezed them gently as he swirled his tongue inside her mouth, taking his time to savor her.
“I missed you.”
“Wow!” Her heart fluttered as she tried to catch her breath. “Welcome back, Mr. Callahan.”
“I got in late last night or I would have come to your house.” He took her hands in his. “I couldn’t wait to see you.”
“How was Boston?”
“It was a long week.” He looked her over, lingering on her belly for a few seconds. Her clothes were getting tighter. No matter what she picked out this morning nothing seemed to look right. She’d settled on a black dress she’d bought a few weeks ago. It was trendy and hugged her baby bump. “What’s this?”
“Oh, well, it seems in this last week my belly just sort of popped out.” She wondered if he’d still find her attractive. “Crazy, right?”
“I’ve only been gone a few days.” He let go of her hand and placed it on her stomach, grinning as he gently pressed against her baby. “You’re beautiful.”
“How do you always know what to say?” Her eyes glistened with tears as she glanced down at his hand. She’d been emotional the past few days. She’d really missed him not being around. “You’re very sweet.”
“Hey.” He tilted her chin. “Why are you crying?”
“I’m not.” She wiped her cheek. “I’m just glad you’re back.”
He brought her lips back to his. “I was lonely without you too.”
“Do you want to come over tonight?” She kissed his jaw, realizing they were being far too intimate in the lobby of his building but she didn’t care. “I’m making chicken parm.”
“I probably won’t be able to get out of here at five. I have some catching up to do but I’ll get there as soon as I can.”
“I’ll keep a plate warm for you.” She didn’t care what time he arrived. She just wanted to be with him. “I don’t mind.”
“I look forward to it.” He kissed her one last time as he trailed his fingers along her neck. “But now I better get upstairs.”
“Have a good day.” She wiped her lip gloss from his mouth. “People will talk.”
“I don’t care.” He smashed his lips to hers, coating them in t
he gloss. “I left something on the desk for you.”
“A present?”
“You’ll see.” He let go of her hand and headed for the elevator. “See you later.”
She nodded as he stepped inside. He winked at her just as that sexy smirk of his graced his lips. She waited for the doors to close, getting in every last second she could with him.
When she went to her desk, there was a huge crystal vase filled with the palest, delicate pink roses she’d ever seen. Each one was more perfect than the next. The scent filled the lobby. There had to be over two dozen. She leaned forward to smell them just as Jackie approached her.
“There you are.”
“I was in the ladies room.”
“Really? Because it looked to me like you were making out with Mr. Callahan.”
“You were watching us?”
“It was hard to miss.” She glanced down at her stomach. “You’re pregnant?”
“Yeah, I was going to tell you. I was just waiting for the right time. I’m not due until June.”
“I didn’t realize you and Gavin had been seeing one another long enough to...”
“Oh, well, Gavin and I–”
“You know what? I don’t really care about your personal life.” She pointed to a file she held. “I have a few things to discuss with your less than stellar job performance here at Callahan Industries.”
“What do you mean?” Justine had a bad feeling about this.
“I’ve let this go on long enough,” Jackie snarled. “I’ve allowed your relationship with the Callahans to interfere with the way I do my job. That stops today.”
“Just say what you have to say.” Justine didn’t want to deal with this woman who had made her life miserable ever since she started seeing Gavin. She picked at her every chance she got. Maybe if they got everything out into the open both of their lives at work would be a lot less difficult.
“Oh, I intend to do more than talk.”
Wonderful...

Gavin pushed his plate away. He couldn’t eat another bite. Justine rivaled any Italian chef he’d ever had the pleasure of experiencing. That was saying a lot considering he’d traveled all over the world including Italy. She enjoyed cooking and that came through in her dishes. She made the classics, but always put her signature in each meal.
