Mark did more than give Javier the car, though.
“You sure you don’t mind that Mark paid for all this?” Javier asked.
“He didn’t pay for all of it,” Cole said. “Besides, he owed it to you. Didn’t he promise to make it up to you last year?”
Greece was everything Javier had wished for. He saw everything he’d dreamed about for so many years. The Parthenon and the Acropolis, the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, the huge broken phalli at the Shrine of Dionysus in Delos, and that was just the beginning. They stayed on the island of Santorini, where the small white homes with their blue roofs gleamed brightly in the sun all up and down the steep hills, and its waters sparkled an incomprehensible blue. The beaches were dazzling, with lovely sand and handsome men.
“Is it all you hoped for?” Cole asked.
“And more,” Javier said as they walked along the gay beach, naked in the sun, unashamed of their bodies, hand in hand. “You’re the more.”
Cole stopped and turned to Javier. “I love you.”
Javier pulled Cole into his arms. “I love you.”
They stood there a long time, and then, smiling, slowly made their way up to their lovely cottage, high on the hill.

B.G. THOMAS lives in Kansas City with his husband of more than a decade and their fabulous little dog. He sees his wonderful daughter just often enough to miss her when she isn’t there. He has a romantic soul and is extraordinarily lucky to have many friends.
He loves science fiction and fantasy, horror, and romance, and has gone to SF&F conventions his entire adult life. He’s been lucky enough to meet many of his favorite writers. He has made up stories since he was kid; it is where he finds his joy. In the nineties, he wrote for gay magazines but stopped because they wanted all porn without plot.
