The Boy and His Wolf

  “I still have to go back to L.A. and settle some things but yeah.” I ran my hand through my hair and scratched the back of my head.

  “Your dad has to be ecstatic.” Marco and Jacey exchanged glances.

  “Have you told him?” Jacey asked.

  I nodded. “This morning over breakfast. I’ve never seen the man so happy before in my life.”

  My dad was in tears after I told him. Hugging me and clapping me on the back. It felt pretty amazing to see him that happy. He was always proud of me, I knew that, but to be coming home was his dream for me. I blinked away tears and the fresh wave of joy.

  “Are you moving back in here?” Marco flicked his head towards the house.

  “Um…” I shifted to look over at Dash.

  “Tanner and I are gonna get a place. A small apartment or something.” His humble demeanor was overpowered by Jacey and Marco’s giddy personalities.

  Marco kicked me lightly under the table. “Look at you two moving in and shit. Congrats, guys.”

  “Yes, congrats.” Jacey reached over and gave both of our hands a squeeze. “And welcome home.”
