should all leave the place.

The team paid no attention and continued looking for signs of what caused all that, but, suddenly, the smoke ceased to be light and became dense enough to block the view.

Something came in the smoke and started to attack the police with the violence of a crazed animal.

The weapons were useless, since it was possible that there were more horrors in the fog.

Gradually the men fell, but the pair of survivors only remained standing because the elevator that brought them straight to the first floor.

Even in that corridor, the police officer was wounded several times, carrying the doctor with broken legs, but could not describe what was inside the white blur.

The doctor, even injured, with some fractures and exhausted, decided to speak slowly until the time the ambulance came to his rescue.

According to him, the parasite left in the body of the people was difficult to remove because it was sensitive to the incisions of doctors.

When the doctor tried to take the body of the creature, it dug deep, consuming the flesh and carving deeper into the body, endangering the life of the host.

If they tried to kill the creature within the host, it flushed fluids that are toxic and deadly to the patient.

No solution, so doctors needed time to think of a way to kill a parasite that was nothing similar to the known.

Nobody expected, at that time, the thing was draining the patient so fast, consuming the host from inside out.

By the morning the parasite left the host's body, breaking the body at any point, out the back, stomach, chest, up the throat.

But when the nurses came to find the patients suddenly without vital signs, just found the parasite devouring the rest of the body that housed it.

Famished, the creature moved forward to the staff, other patients and people in general. But it was not a single parasite, there were many, devouring their hosts, people, and growing.

The doctor also saw their original forms, with huge stomachs stuffed from eating. And it was precisely at this point that it became even more aggressive, attacking without devouring, breaking bones, attacking with the body and claws sprouted from the sides of its body.

At that stage they were only "meat balls with a mouth that reminded sharks and claws coming from the side of the swollen silhouette", in the words of the doctor.

He had broken his legs in an attack and suffered many cuts, but managed to hide among the dead and noted the rapid growth of the aberrations.

In minutes, maybe just one hour, round bodies began to deform and, fom the top came an organ with an immense opening, resembling a volcano, which began to expel a kind of smoke that did not seem to do anything other than hide their bodies , which began to turn into adults.

The parasite stage was only a preparation, a larva that would become tall bodies after completely transformed.

Whatever they have become entered in a veil of smoke and attacked without signs.

The sound of their footsteps indicated that whatever dwelled in smoke was big, endowed with a rigid shell, strong enough to withstand firearm shots.

But if all this were not enough as horror, the new news was the fact that this same phenomenon has repeated itself in all the city's hospitals.

My heart collapsed with the news, then, for the first time, I knew that this was not a normal problem, even for a "serious normal problem", it was something else, an evil from another reality.

We were like fertile ground for them to grow in our body and devour.

And with all this happening in every hospital, I pleaded to my imagination not to create scenes of what might happen when those things come out to the streets ...

The authorities would send the maximum number of troops to prevent the creatures from coming out from inside the hospital, then it wouldn't be good for us to stay there, in front of the building.

Even among people and press gathering information, I turned my eyes to the building, seeing the smoke hanging out of the windows.

The smoke, little by little, seemed to have approached the lower floors and I thought those things were there wanting more space, what the streets had to offer.

Suddenly, a noise sounded like glass breaking.

  Some windows were broken.

Nothing came out of there, but the noise only increased, while the beasts broke everything inside.

We ran, we avoided the approach at any cost.

We went back running the same side we came and journalists ran on the opposite side, entering their vans, speeding up.

We were horrified, but curious, looking if something would come through the front door or a window.

I ran with my head focused only on the sound of the door of my house closing, locked, and then the same with the windows.

As soon as I arrived, I passed the key in the door lock and closed it, following to the television, trying to see more news, but little had been disclosed.

They had not disclosed data on the parasite and its development, but at that time, it was good that people did not know the half of the story, like we did.

In time, the journalists returned, but now the news were spread by helicopter, since it was not safe to stay on land.

In front of the city's hospitals, military isolated everything with heavy guns pointed at the exits, and even windows to the back, so they could divide and the teams in public hospitals and even private clinics.

It was difficult to inform the public about all affected points but a point in the north of the city has changed everything.

After severe blows inside the building, a lot of noise and difficult visualization, the building began to give way.

The team of armed men did not enter because it was too risky.

That was the hospital where the problem arose faster, maybe due the low immunity of people who were victims of the parasite.

The center of the building, the pillars cracked and the whole building shook with a snap, kicking up dust. It was a matter of minutes for everything to collapse.

I could only wonder what it was, why were those things trying to destroy their only shelter.

Finally, the building gave way, falling like toys spreading on the floor.

Dust covered everything, undid the smoke of and advanced on the armed men, giving a harrowing break to all that tense situation.

When the dust began to clear, the helicopter's camera focused on the top of the rubble, where there was a figure moving.

I bent my body and almost pasted the face on the screen, trying to see what it was, and already felt a tightness inside my chest, seeing that that form was much larger than a rounded parasite that walked on long claws.

It had a lot of height, tall, slim ... Slim and disproportionate with what, by distance, appeared to be ridges, lumps.

The camera failed to capture the top, because the creature was beginning to produce smoke.

Soon came another point of smoke that rose from inside the rubble.

Parasites in adult form, up and making that gas camouflage.

They threatened to go in the direction of the military and, from what we've seen so far, with hostility.

The shooting began, with the smoke advancing to the armed group, growing more intense.

They fell for the shooting, unable to leave, completely covered by the smoke.

Apparently, the shots made the beasts back off for a moment, decreasing the production of smoke, limited to a small portion on their backs and head, so that the helicopter could not capture much of their features.

But there were there no injuries, just the beings shrunken and in groups, with curved bodies, as is typical of frightened animals.

From among them, one moved away from the others and began to slowly walk to the soldiers.

We had no view of what they saw in the middle of the small amount of smoke, but kept pointing the gun ready, waiting for the next step of the beast.

&nbs
p; No one expected, the creature moved slowly, threw himself in the direction of a military in an attempt to wound the gunman.

All fired at the beast, and by the way it fell, was wounded.

On the ground, the thing cringed like an armadillo, becoming only a small volume, then, for some reaction that could not be seen by the television broadcast, began to dissolve in smoke.

And what appeared to be a side effect of his death, proved to be much worse.

Living, they produced smoke in limited proportion, but after his death, it was dissolved in a cloud of increasing whiteness, large enough for all creatures to pass through the soldiers without being seen.

The bad news spreaded, the situation was far from the neighborhood here.

Faced with the horror, all the other teams in different hospitals were ordered to enter and eliminate the parasites.

None of that could be repeated in other parts of the city.

Now the concern was close to home, and if it did escape, it was sure that the horrors would come through the street where I live. And we do not even knew what the parasites wanted, now they were adults.

Maybe grow, live and reproduce as a normal animal, but this would result in more people being infected and dying with those things
