eating them inside out ...

The creatures, instead of hiding after they came out of the smoke cloud, ran southbound towards the city center, leaving a trail of smoke visible, the military used it to the chase them.

On two legs they were like humans, but when using their hands and legs to run, became fast and difficult to face, walking on walls like lizards, jumping from roof to roof when appeared to have been surrounded.

In my neighborhood and in many others, the tension continued, with the military in hospitals, trying to find and fight the beasts, but now they did not want to fight, but hide in the darkest corners of the rooms where they ate the patients.

Everything turned out to be another strategy, another deception of the beasts, and, with all the military staff inside the hospitals, the things began to leave through the windows and down the side of the building.

I was desperate to see that they were loose and so close to my house, then I got up and started pushing some furniture to the door, enough to be closed, but the worst was the window, I didn't know how to make a proper barrier for it.

As it opened to outside, I closed it then put the cabinet in front, which was not much, but I would know when the beast was going to pass trough my street.

The television reported the streets and way the persecution was taking, and I was right to believe that those things would soon be here.

As soon as I heard they bent the corner of the street, I forced my body against the cabinet to prevent the invasion.

Suddenly the roof shuddered with strong strides, then the thing jumped from here to the neighboring roofs.

My heart jumped, then I dropped the cabinet realizing it had been foolish to believe I was safe.

If the creature wanted, It would have opened a gap in the roof and done what it wanted with me ... But it was good to hear the noise of the chase going away quickly.

From the kitchen, still shocked, I heard the news telling that even the beasts born in private hospitals had escaped, but all fled south.

No one understood the reason for going to the south, running, without getting tired and without stopping to drop that intense smoke that we did not even know what it was.

If it were a gas, it caused no damage to us, but it was nothing visibly typical ... And I believe that, with these animals fleeing, frightened, their bodies could not stop producing smoke, that was the mechanism they had to to hide...

They were like ninjas being persecuted by their own smoke bombs, completely losing the element of surprise.

I let my body down on the couch to relax after the scare, with the morbid curiosity to know how those things looked like.

On television, all we saw were distant features, details narrated by journalists and smoke that spread.

The weight on the roof didn't seemed to be light ... Maybe even heavier than a human, and theu used to be tiny things born within the body of people...

I tried to take my mind of it all, as now, the authorities pursued the monsters in a very distant point from here.

The beasts had much to worry ... They had no time to break into any of the houses.

Unfortunately, the day and night would bring an even bigger surprise, putting an end to my curiosity and explaining much of what we had seen this morning.

In the evening, all the persecution had ended, for our brief relief.

The creatures were headed to the south end of town, but the borders were guarded by the army, to stop the madness from spreading.

The beasts, one by one, were killed by firing of the heavy guns, bu this time, mysteriously, the monsters did not dissolve in smoke, like it could have been a mechanism activated by their own will.

Against the number of men and lacking the element of surprise, it was like watching ants jumping into fire.

Still, they haven't yet revealed the images of beasts, and this brief calm pause would become a new despair.

Within the hospitals and the debris of which gave way, movement emerged. Something has sprouted from the walls and did run research teams out.

There was a lot of movement in damaged buildings, and new "things" began to show up ...

No one knew at the beginning, but when the creatures destroyed hospitals inside, they placed, inside debris and damaged walls, eggs of a different variety of the species itself.

When this new generation of beasts was manifest, things became clear in my mind:

The first creatures born from the bodies of people, eating hospital patients to nurture, grew and laid eggs inside the destruction they made ...

So they fled south, taking the military with them, to keep people away from the rubble where their children would be born!

They do not let out smoke to hide ... It was to draw attention and make them to be persecuted long enough until the eggs ecloded and the beings grew enough...

Now the plan had been realized and we didn't have enough information about this variation of the beasts.

The transmission of new news was quick, there were helicopters transmitting everything from far away, lighting the large number of beasts coming out from the front door of the buildings, like this was their response to our military.

Far, there was not much difference between the first creatures... The new ones were just grayish, different from the red ones that had been slaughtered.

These new ones avoided producing smoke, they didn't meant to hide, but probably had the same organs and the capacity of the firsts.

Those creatures marched out in large numbers and imposing, without fear.

I hoped they would stay hidden for fear of coming out and facing the investigators, but me and many people were wrong.

Once every creature left the buildings and debris, the beasts rushed toward researchers and anyone who were in range.

They were infants and needed food.

The television did not show the horrible scenes, but we could see, for a moment, they ignoring shots and attacking. Dividing the victim like a bread among family.

I had all closed inside my home but my mind rolled over trying to find some way for me to protect me while I longed for someone commenting that the attacks had stopped ... or that things were frightened or were slaughtered... But no.

The next warning was to warn everyone to lock themselves in their homes, because the creatures were spreading through the streets with speed. And to not make too much noise.

I thought about going to the bathroom and locking me up there, but it did not seem logical, reliable...

I wanted space and a weapon to defend myself, so I went to the kitchen, where I caught my biggest knife and waited those things begin to go down the street.

My hope was to see only the figures, passing through, as the first ones did, but the situation was another.

I heard a scream, cry and calls for help in the end of the street ... It was the sign they raided homes.

I hid in the darkest corner of the kitchen, huddled, holding the knife so hard I felt my hand merging to the cable.

My body trembled hearing the sound of the doors and windows being forced open in the neighborhood.

Instinctively, I knew I was the next and, in seconds, the door was broken in a single impact, but the creature did not coma right to the kitchen.

Even shaking, I found it strange, then crawled to the door to see what the creature was doing inside my house.

From the door gap, I noticed the monster was there, watching television.

I could see the whole front of the beast, illuminated by the screen, and his body was tall, slender, with gross skeleton features and muscles outlined in the thin body, protruding bones from the grey skin, rough and similat to something dead.

The long fingers, dark and gleaming claws touched the television screen, trying to understand the technology.

The head was horrible ... The eyes were deep holes like a skeleton, and his nose was just a little slit and absurdly large teeth, different from ours ...
r />   His teeth were united in a top and bottom plate, remembering vaguely metal plates, only projected out of the mouth, straight and gigantic.

The smoke-producing organ was somewhere in the back, hidden in the shadows, and I needed that thingto be distracted enough if I wanted to have a chance to survive.

By curiosity, then he would turn back, watching the back of the TV, so I would come out of the kitchen and strike with the knife.

It was my only chance, and I would not to escape to the street, after all, it was full of these beasts ...

I advanced with the whole body tense, leaving my shoes back, avoiding noise.

The knife was firm in my hand and I went as fast as possible, as soon I realized the beast turned his back to me.

I struck with full force, feeling the blade twist to break against the thick armor of the beast.

In a second I understood the reason for the heavy weapons being used, because the knife only scratched the skin of the beast, which turned in a creepy motion and took my head in one hand, a strong blow, lifting my body like a puppet and pulling me close to the horrible face.

The last thing I could see was his mouth, now open, and how it was immense and empty, without tongue, only a dark
