Planet of Peace

AThe benefits,@ he replied. AYou would not be harassed anymore and the pay is good.@

AJones, my field is sociology, not research or technology. Our spirits may have come from another planet, but we each have our own special talents. Mine is working with people and organizations, helping people in need. If you want someone in research there are gifted spirits who can do that, but I’m not one of them.@

AI thought all star children had the same gifts. Guess I was wrong. You have been a great help. Thank you for your time.@ As he was leaving Jones handed Jeff his card and said. ACall me if you have any problems with my agents.@

AOkay, I just don’t want to be stalked anymore.@

  AFair enough.@

The following Tuesday Jones was back again to see Jeff. Once seated in the conference room, he spoke pleasantries and appeared to be avoiding his reason for his visit. Finally Jeff spoke up. AWhy are you here, Jones?@

AWe have a problem that involves you,@ he stated. AMr. Dukes has locked himself in his apartment, and hasn’t been to work since the episode with you two weeks ago. He is having a breakdown and I=m afraid he’s in deep trouble. I’m hoping you can help.@

Jeff never realized his actions would cause such pain to anyone. He thought it clever the way he had handled the situation. He just wasn’t thinking that a human stuck in the alternate dimension would have such a reaction. Jeff sat there perplexed, not knowing how to answer Jones. AHow can I help,@ he finally asked?

ACould you go see him,@ Jones ventured?

ASure, I’d be happy to.@ He had to face up to his misdeed.

Jones scribbled the address on a piece of paper and they agreed to meet there after work.

Dukes lived in a four unit apartment house in northwest Denver in an area that used to be known for its worker cottages—tiny one-bedroom homes jammed against each other. Over the years some had been torn down to make way for small apartment buildings. Jones and Cleaver met Jeff in front of the building.

Cleaver greeted Jeff saying, ADukes is in there. Please talk to him. Explain what you did, and maybe he won’t be so afraid. He’s depressed, seeing figures that aren’t there, even his mother who died several years ago.@

Jones knocked on the door and waited. Dukes came to the door and opened it just enough to see who was there. Seeing Jeff he closed it again and hollered. AGo away you freak. I don’t want you in here.@

ALet us in,@ Cleaver shouted through the door. AJeff promises not to hurt you. Please let us in.@They waited a minute wondering if he would open the door. Finally it opened and Dukes was standing there with a gun pointed directly at Jeff, his hand shaking.

APut the gun away,@ Jones commanded. AWe don’t want anyone getting hurt. We just want to talk.@

AIt’s alright, Dukes,@ Jeff assured him. AIf the gun makes you feel safe it’s okay. I don’t mind.@

After a moment=s hesitation, Dukes slowly lowered the gun and Jones took it from his hand. It had been a tense moment and Jeff made sure he stayed on the other side of the room away from Dukes. He hated to see his former grade school classmate reduced to such an emotional state.

His room was a mess. Food wrappers were strewn all over and clothes lay in every corner. Cleaver opened the blinds and windows to let in light and fresh air. Dukes hadn’t shaved in a week and obviously hadn’t bathed either. His undershirt was stretched and smelled of body-odor, and his pants were wrinkled and dirty.

AWhat do you want, bringing him here?” It was silent for a while. No one wanted to speak. Slowly Dukes relaxed, then, he cried like a baby. Cleaver went to him and consoled him while the two other men stepped outside.

On the curb, Jones lit a cigarette and turned to Jeff. AWhat exactly did you do to Dukes?@

Jeff wasn’t sure if he should tell him or if he would even understand, but he had been so kind lately he felt safe. AI left him in another dimension.@

  AYou did what?@

AWhen I transport myself, I disappear from one place and reappear in another. I pass through other dimensions before completing the change. I see people but can’t interact with them. At my destination I become stabilized and can interact with them. Slowing down this process I have a chance to see where I’m going, and use my energy to make changes without being noticed by anyone.@

Jones tried hard to picture what Jeff was saying, but didn’t understand the technical aspects. ASo you left him somewhere in between?@

AYes, and I’m sorry. If I thought it would affect him like this I wouldn’t have done it. It was inconsiderate of me.@ Ever since Cleaver had given him the serum shot he had been experiencing human emotions and hadn’t really learned their potential for destruction. He was finding out the hard way. When he transported Dukes he was dealing with human emotions, his anger, without thinking of the consequences.

The door opened and Cleaver stepped out. AHe has calmed down. Give him a minute and we’ll try again.@ Jeff tried to apologize to her, but she put her hand up as if to say it wasn’t necessary.

Shortly, Dukes came out trying to manage a smile through his red tear-soaked cheeks. AThank you all for coming, but I need some rest. This has been too much for me to comprehend. I have to think about it a while.@

ATake your time, Dukes. If you need anything call us. We are your friends,@ Jones replied.

  *

Later that evening Jeff was packing for his trip the following day. He had felt badly about what he had done to Dukes, and decided to meditate before going to bed. He sat at his desk. Closing his eyes, he thought of John. After a short period he appeared. They exchanged greetings and Jeff spoke. AJohn, I did something I regret, not that the person didn’t have it coming, but I’m sorry for putting him through such pain.@ He then told him the story and waited for a reply.

AYou are right. When you teleport you go through those dimensions and actually travel in pure light before taking form again. But humans don’t believe in the Oracle. Their God energy is different, and they have other dimensions to pass through, some quite scary.@

  AHow so,@ Jeff asked?

AThey have polarities to go through. You go into the light and out the other side, but they have more dimensions to pass through. First they see the forms of live people, then the spirits of the departed with conflicts of good and evil before going into light. In materializing they go backwards through the same process. Your man saw the forms of the living, and also saw the spirits of the dead. Every time he had a thought he drew a spirit who magnified that thought, both good and evil. That made a living hell for him.@

AI hadn’t thought about it,” Jeff said.

John continued. ABecause your spirit is new on Earth, you have the most abilities possible at this time. Those who come after you may not have that ability and will have to worry about these other dimensions. I’d advise you to tell the other star children about what happened to you so they won’t leave any humans wondering any of these other dimensions.@

Jeff had missed the group meeting the previous week since he had gone with Jones to see Dukes, and he was anxious to meet with his new friends. Sarina went with him and after the group quieted down, he told them the story about other dimensions and warned them of the hazards of leaving someone there.

He also explained how to go to the alternate dimension when healing people, so they wouldn’t be seen by others. Then only their healing energy will be felt around the victim. They could slip in and out of the area without being noticed.

He then spoke to the group about what John had said. AYou all have the power of your creator and the responsibility to use it wisely. Don’t accept power given to you by others. With the power comes expectations, and when you don’t deliver what’s expected, they will turn on you.@

He was looking directly at Travis when he said it, and Travis felt the weight
of the message. He had told the group about going to work for the government, but the government was withholding top-secret clearance and constantly checking his computer files. He didn’t like being scrutinized so closely, but he would stay with the job for now. He was concerned that some day they would turn on him and force him to do their bidding.

The following Tuesday evening Sarina brought the crystal sphere to the gathering so that others could see it. As former citizens of Dos they might enjoy its energy. After passing it around for each to examine, Jeff asked. AWould you all like to go to Dos this evening?@

Their eyes lit up and all were eager for a chance to see their homeland once more. They crowded in a circle, each with both hands on the sphere and closed their eyes. Jeff spoke, AImagine yourself sinking into the sphere. You will eventually see a fountain which is in front of the library. See all of you going together and materializing where the water falls.@ There was total silence in the room. One by one they began to hear water cascading over rocks into the pond.

All of a sudden they heard a strange voice. It was John. AWelcome to Dos. I have been waiting for you. It’s indeed an honor to have so many of you back here for a visit.@ He was in good humor.

The group immediately felt at home. Smiles turned into laughter as they gazed at one another. AGang, this is John. Do you have any questions for him,” Jeff asked?

AYes,@ Julie spoke up. AI want to know what to do about healing people.@

AAre you healing the mind or the body,@ John asked?

  AThe body,@ she answered.

AThe purest healing comes when the person doesn’t know who it comes from. The person must feel it comes from God, not another person. If you show that you have healed them they will give you power over them. That’s not what is intended. Why do you ask?@

AI want to open a healing center so that people who are sick can come to be healed,@ she replied.

ABut you have doctors and hospitals for that.@

AWell,@ Julie paused, trying to gather her thoughts. AI see what you mean.@

AYou have to work within the system. If you attempt to start a new system you will have more difficulty than you planned because you are attempting to take the power to heal away from others who have worked so hard to attain it.@

A@Are you in a healing profession,@ John asked?

  AYes, I work at Children=s Hospital.@

ADo you have ample opportunity to heal there,@ He inquired?

AYes, but it’s not the same. If patients could be healed before they came to the hospital we wouldn’t need one,@ she indicated. AWe could save all that money.@

APeople believe in hospitals. An entire industry is built around it and people dedicate their lives to healing. Don’t take that from them. Participate with them and let them take credit for jobs well done. I can’t tell you what to do. But you do have to allow others to fulfill their destiny, not take their dreams from them.@

Julie was beginning to understand and the idea of creating a church for healing suddenly lost its lure. Running a church just wasn’t her calling. AThanks, John. I appreciate what you have told me.@

She kept noticing odd shaped balls of energy moving by and asked John about them. AThey are people in another dimension,@ John replied. He mentally interacted with a ball of energy and it took form.

AThis is Ahmin.” To him, he said. “Ahmin, these Earthlings are visiting us.@

AWelcome to our planet. Enjoy your stay with us.@ He replied and dissolved back into energy.

AThere are many planes of existence here on Dos. That is why you don’t see a lot of people moving around. You have to remember which plane you live in or you might forget your way home.@

They finally returned to Earth. Jeff knew he had done the right thing taking them there. It had given them an opportunity to see a planet totally at peace.

  Chapter 18

AIt wasn’t supposed to be this way,@ Charles Martin told the audience in the auditorium at the University. The fall season had begun and his first lecture was entitled Star Children. He had held off giving this lecture because of his son, but now that Jeff had graduated, Charles felt it was time the public learned about unusually gifted people. After all, raising one must have given him some degree of expertise.

It had drawn a much larger crowd than had been expected, as recent publicity had made more people aware of spirit migration. Although he only knew of one planet, he was sure that this wasn’t the first time spirits had traveled the galaxy in search of service and fulfillment. However, the publicity wasn’t all positive, and had created an atmosphere of fear for those who didn’t understand the concept of spirits journeying the universe. He was near the end of his lecture.

AStar children were supposed to blend into society because they have earth bodies. Their message of love and peace was to be spread as a natural part of evolution, not be held out separately from it. We shouldn’t be ready to condemn those who are different. Dossians don’t know how to be angry.@ He knew this by observing Jeff all these years. AThey don’t have that ability and because of their peaceful nature they are here to help this planet move forward into a new era.

The inhabitants of Dos believe in a supreme being they call the Oracle, and they believe they are all of one mind. What hurts one, hurts all. We refer to our supreme being as God.@

A commotion in the back of the auditorium drew Charles= attention and several people walked out grumbling as they went. Apparently they didn’t agree with his reference to God and the Oracle as being separate.

His son had helped him prepare this lecture. Jeff had told him about the planet Dos and his dialog with John. He accepted it as he knew Jeff wouldn’t lie, but apparently some in the auditorium didn’t agree. It was okay to have different opinions.

When his talk was over Charles stopped in the lobby to listen to the audience discussing his lecture. Sarina had heard his talk and congratulated him. She was sorry that Jeff was out of town that day. He would have been proud of his dad. Other students showed enthusiasm for his topic and said the lecture helped them to understand star children. What they didn’t understand was why such a fuss was being created around the world. Charles had no explanation.

Attending the lecture were Jones and Cleaver. They were back working together since Dukes had taken a leave of absence. They stopped to congratulate Charles and to discuss a few more thoughts on star children. They told him the lecture helped them to understand the concept better.

Unfortunately not all attendees were happy. As Charles and Sarina were leaving the auditorium, a group of people, older than the average student, approached them, blocking their exit.

AWe don’t agree with your assessment of these star children, Mr. Martin,@ one ventured. AWe think they are either psychotic or devil worshipers. There’s no supreme being other than God. If you think there is, then you are either an atheist or one of them. The website that’s perpetuating this myth should be put out of business.@

AThank you for your opinion, but if you are so closed minded, why did you come to my lecture,@ Charles asked?

ABecause we wanted to see for ourselves what propaganda you were putting out before we report you to the board of regents.@ They turned and walked away.

Charles looked at Sarina, AWell, maybe this will be my last lecture.@

ADon’t be hard on yourself, Mr. Martin. You and I both know they are acting out of fear. Universities are known for free thinking, not closed-mindedness,@ she replied.

The matter didn’t go anywhere regarding the university, but the press carried a story on star children. One of the reporters called them, the Dossian Race, instead of star children, a term which would later be used by most people when referring to spirits from Dos. Charles= lecture had apparently stirred up a hornet=s nest, and he felt there would soon be fallout from it.

  Sarina k
new those offended wouldn’t let this matter die. It would only be a matter of time until something would happen to trigger the emotions of the whole community. She was glad that Jeff wasn’t at the lecture. He would have been caught in the middle of this storm.

  *

That evening Sarina talked to her dad about the T-Ray. AIs this T-Ray really all it’s cracked up to be? Can it really penetrate an alternate dimension as they say? I saw you use it on the telescope, but I thought it was just a way of viewing things,@ she said.

AWell, the government thinks it can and I wish I had nothing to do with it. It’s one of those finds better left undiscovered, and I’m sorry that Jeff gave me the information to bring it about. It’ll revolutionize the way we look at space, and if the military develops its potential, it could do great harm if terrorists get their hands on it.@

  AWhy is that,@ she asked?

ABecause when it is fully developed it can be used to hide military equipment and weapons. Can you imagine terrorists hiding a bomb in the middle of this city in another dimension, without our being aware of it? Then, set it to go off with a cell phone? That’s what our defense department is working on. And Travis is working for them. He doesn’t think he’s doing anything wrong. Thinks he’s helping to further science. He’s a good family man, but when they don’t need him anymore they’ll get rid of him.@

AI didn’t realize that a secret weapon could be developed along those lines,@ Sarina responded.

“That’s because you don’t think along those lines. You are a peaceful person with no responsibility to protect the country. But our military always wants the most advanced arsenal on earth.

Already there is talk of the Chinese developing a similar weapon using T-Ray technology. That kind of talk spurs our military to develop it first, just like the cold war of the last century. Two sides armed to the gills, lest one should attack the other. Well, at least we don’t have to worry about them invading Dos. It could be centuries before that technology could be used in space travel. I’m just hoping by that time the Earth will be a peaceful place and wars will be a thing of the past.@
