Since my legs were already free, I shove him backward and shoot up off the chair. I make it halfway to the door before another man catches hold of me and slams me to the floor. “You stupid fuckin’ cunt. I should gut you here and now for what you just did,” he snarls as he grips me by my hair to pull me up off the floor. “Try another stunt like that and I’ll slice your fuckin’ throat.”
“Easy, Griz, she belongs to me,” Miles states, harshly.
“She may be yours, Miles, but she just killed one of my brothers. Either she pays or you make a payment,” Griz sneers.
“I have another alternative,” Miles says, grinning as he holds an arm out toward Dee who was still standing to the side tapping her foot impatiently as she glares at me.
“That’ll work,” Griz says before yelling out a command and throwing me to another man. “Hang her over the pit, prospect.”
Without another word the man gripped my arm and pulled me with him. “Don’t try fighting. You do I’ll throw you right into the snake pit,” he sneers, my eyes widening as I glance over my shoulder to Dee’s look of horror as Griz grips her by the throat with one hand and rips her flimsy shirt off her body with the other.
Turning back around, I do as the prospect said and not fight him. I have to be smart about this right now and not give them any more reasons to hurt me in order to protect Breaker’s and my baby. My body already hurts from Griz slamming me to the floor and Miles back handing me.
The prospect chains my hands over my head and moves over to the side and presses a button and the chain connected to me lifts me clear off the floor. With me dangling a few feet off the floor, Miles steps forward, unbuttons my jeans and yanks them off of my body. My shirt goes next as he shreds through the material with a buck knife. Considering I’d gone commando and had taken my bra off in Breaker’s room, I was completely naked hanging in front of these men.
“My god, sweetheart, you have a magnificent body,” Miles chuckles as he leers at me.
“Fuckin’ hell she does,” Griz grunts as he slams into Dee’s body from behind her. Her cries go ignored as the sadistic asshole stares at my body while he continues to plow forcefully into Dee a few more times before pulling out, pushing her to the floor and wrapping his hand around his dick and jacking off on her.
Gross.
I close my eyes to keep from seeing any more. The sight of Dee laying there on the floor naked makes me want to vomit. But I have no empathy for the woman, she made her bed when she decided to hand me over to them.
At the sound of a single bullet being shot, my eyes fly open to see Griz pointing his gun at Dee’s head and blood pouring from the hole.
Holy shit. This is bad. Really, really bad. I hope Breaker gets here soon. I do not want to die let alone lose our baby.
“Alright, sweetheart, now our fun can begin. Griz,” Miles nods his head.
“Prospect, move her to hang over the pit.”
“With pleasure,” the prospect announces as he presses another button that moves me until I’m dangling over . . .
Oh my god, it’s an actual pit of snakes. Doing my best, I try to grip the chain to pull myself up while holding my knees up as high as I can.
Please hurry Breaker. I don’t know how long I can hang on.
Chapter Thirteen
Breaker
“Breaker.” I’m arms deep in weapons when Throttle yells my name from the entrance of the warehouse.
Fuck.
“What?” I call out.
“We need to leave. Now,” he yells again.
What the fuck?
Closing the cargo box, I latch the lock back in place and storm to the front of the warehouse ready to find out what the fuck is going on. As I get closer, I notice the hardened look in all three of my brothers’ faces and my gut tightens.
“Tell me,” I demand, my hands already balled into fists.
“Tiny went to see if Nora wanted company and found your door wide open. Nora wasn’t in there. Tiny, being smart as she is, went straight to Chains, told him. He got Fuse to pull up the cameras in the hallway. What they saw brother you’re not gonna like,” Lynch said.
“Tell me,” I grind out.
“They saw Dee knock on your door looking smug, stepped into the room just a bit, a moment later she dragged Nora out the backdoor. Right now, Fuse is doing everything he can in order to track down Dee’s car as well as Miles Granger’s location. He should have something for us when we get to the club,” this time it was my cousin, Brake, who slammed the news at me like a grenade exploding in a war zone.
“Motherfucker is dead. I’m not playing. Anyone with him will be gutted like the vermin they are,” snarling, I storm past them. “Throttle lock this place up.” I won’t delay for shit in getting to the clubhouse and finding my woman. If she’s hurt in any way or loses our baby, a baby that we only just found out about today, there won’t be anyone to stand in my fuckin’ way.
Straddling my bike, I turn the key and bring my girl to life. I back her up just enough to clear the other bikes and hit the throttle hard, surging out of the parking lot. My mind brings up images of Nora from the time I first saw her to just this morning where I held her in my arms. With each image my grip on the handles tightens. All I see in front of me are the cuts and bruises she had on her face when she got out of her brother’s truck, her smile as she looks up at me while I’m seated deep inside her, fuckin’ hell. Those who took her will wish they thought better. They fucked with the wrong man this time.
I pull into the parking area of the clubhouse before I know it. Shit, I’d been so deep in my head I hadn’t even realized I’d driven the whole way without paying attention.
Shutting my girl off, I put the kickstand down, swing my leg over and storm into the clubhouse. “We got anything?” I snarl.
I don’t even pay attention to the men standing with Chains, two of them in a standoff with him and Tyres. All of them turn toward me as I spoke.
“Brother,” Chains says with a deathly calm tone.
“Where is she?” I don’t bother with formalities. Right now, I don’t give a fuck. All that matters at this moment in time, is getting her back.
“Fuse is getting a lock on her whereabouts right now. Breaker, you gotta lock that shit down for now. Let’s get your ol’ lady then you can let loose. Got me?” Chains states.
“Yeah, I got you. Just know I don’t give a fuck who’s with fuckwad, they’re dead. Don’t care if it means we go to war with another club. Way I see it, they already started it by fuckin’ takin’ my woman who’s pregnant with my motherfuckin’ kid,” I growl as I twist and grab the edge of a table with one hand and upend the damn thing sending it sailing against the wall. Luckily, no one was in the way.
“Nora’s pregnant?” I whip my head around to face Nora’s brother, Flynn, as he asks this.
“Yeah, she’s pregnant. We found out just a bit ago. Don’t even think of getting pissed about it either and throwing shit in her face when I get her back. Nora is a fuckin’ adult and can make her own choices. She chose to be with me and I’m not about to let her go. Not now. Not fuckin’ ever. Now you two and Levi need to get your shit together and stop thinking of her as some child that you have to keep under lock and key.” I mutter.
“Breaker, I suggest you back the hell off. I get your pissed but that’s also our fuckin’ sister. I don’t give a fuck if you married her. She’ll always be our sister. Yeah, we’re fuckin’ pissed she married you, but only because we weren’t there. Knew it the night we dropped her off here. Nora’s where she was meant to be. Now cool it,” Dash states, calmly.
“Well, now that we have that settled how about we go get your ol’ lady,” Fuse breaks in before I can respond.
Turning to face him, I see him heading in my direction.
“Where is she?” I demand at the same time as Chains and Dash.
“A warehouse near Robert off of 190,” Fuse says, holding a paper out to me.
Scanning it, I nod m
y head. I know where this is. Handing the paper to Chains, I head back toward the door as Chains calls my name stopping me as I put my hand on the doorknob.
“We don’t do shit alone. Doesn’t matter who we go up against. We do it together. You’re not going alone on this, remember we always have each other’s back,” Chains declares.
I don’t respond, but I do give Chains a nod before pushing the door open and stepping through. Making my way to my bike, I pause and change directions and head for my truck. I don’t know what I’ll find when I get there but it’ll be better if I have Nora in the truck rather than on the back of my bike.
Getting in behind the wheel, I put the key in the ignition and turn it. Backing out of my spot I spin tires as I punch the gas pedal, my brothers all behind me as I speed down the road.
“Hang on Spitfire, I’m coming for you,” I murmur to myself.
Chapter Fourteen
Nora
“Do you think it’s easy for me to see you hanging there, sweetheart?” Miles asks as he stares up at me.
“Go to hell, asshole,” I mutter as I lift my head briefly from the pit of slithering, hissing snakes that keep trying to jump at me.
“Now, Nora, that’s no way to speak to the man who you’re supposed to be with,” Miles chuckles before looking towards Griz. “Bring her to me for a moment.”
Without hesitation, Griz grins at me when I glance in his direction as he holds the button that moves the chain I’m connected to.
When I’m directly in front of Miles, he gives me a grin that I could only say was one a gremlin would have when it was caught in the act of doing something it shouldn’t have been doing. Better yet Freddy Kruger, his grin when he lifts his clawed hands up in front of his face.
“You should never have avoided me the way you did. No one gets away from me.” The back of his hand lands against the side of my face before I have a chance to brace for it. “Nora, you fucked up by ignoring me and not going out with me when I asked. We’re supposed to be married by now. Instead of me having to teach you a lesson.” This time instead of the back of his hand going against my face, he removes his belt and uses it to whip me several times.
By the time he’s done I’m unable to contain the sobs of pain that rack my body.
“Griz, put her back over the pit. I’m done with her and the snakes can have her,” Miles sneers.
Griz wastes no time in pressing the button and moves me back over the snake pit. This time lowering me further in. Screams of terror leave my mouth as I fight like hell to grip the chain higher up at the same time keep my legs out of striking distance of the demon eyed species that want to sink their teeth into my skin.
I don’t know how much time passes as my cries continue, but I refused to stop fighting. I wasn’t about to let myself be bitten by a snake. I didn’t know what it would do to my baby if one of those toxic vermin sunk their venom into my body.
My body jerks as a startling noise comes from somewhere else in the building.
“What the fuck?” Griz snarls.
“Go see to whatever that noise was,” Miles commands.
Nodding, Griz heads in the direction and gun fire resounds the building. Panic starts to seep in even more as my strength begins to wane.
When one of the snakes jumps at me, I scream louder than before as I try to lift myself higher but failing to do so.
“Nora.” My eyes widen at the sound of Breaker’s voice as he enters the room.
With a quick glance I saw the fire inside him as he lifts a hand with a gun in it and aims it at Miles. Pulling the trigger several times, I don’t even blink as the bullets slam into Miles’ body, one to his arm, another to his leg, the last to his stomach.
As Miles drops to the floor screaming in pain, Breaker rushes toward me as he barks an order to someone, I wasn’t paying attention to who, for them to come help him.
Another of the snakes jumps at me hissing. Screaming, I pull my legs higher, but my hands begin to slip from the grip I have on the chain to keep me high enough from them getting to me.
“Breaker, please help me,” I cry.
“Don’t worry, ma tendre, I’m gonna get you free okay,” he says soothingly to me before turning his head to the side. “Pit hit that button over there that’s connected with the chain holding Nora. The hole’s too wide for me to jump. I’m gonna need you to pull her away from the snake pit .”
“Got it,” Pit, which is short for Pitch Black, snarls as he rushes to where he needs to be.
My blurred eyes hit Breaker’s and I focus on him as I begin to move toward him.
“It’s okay, mon chou, I’m right here. I’ll get you down,” he murmurs as I make it over the gaping hole that’s filled with the snakes.
After what feels like hours but was only brief seconds Breaker has me released from the chains holding me up. Once I’m in his arms he kisses my forehead, cheeks, and mouth.
“Fuck, Spitfire, I don’t think I’ll ever get the sight of you like this out of my mind,” he mutters as he presses his forehead to mine.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever get the experience out of mine,” I whisper.
“Breaker,” Dash calls out as my other brother, Flynn, rushes toward us with a blanket as Breaker turns to him.
“Here take Nora for a bit, put her in my truck and stay with her. I’ll be right behind you,” Breaker states as Flynn wraps me in the blanket and takes me out of my husband’s arms.
“What are you going to do?” I ask panic starting to take over. I don’t want to be away from him.
“It’s okay, ma tendre, I’ll be right behind you. I’m just going to make sure this fucker can never hurt another person again,” he grumbles as he cups the side of my face. “Promise I’ll only be a few minutes.”
“Okay.” Nodding my head, I let my brother carry me out of the horrifying building. Right before Flynn exits the building Miles’ screams of terror fill the air.
“Gotta say, Smalls, that man will go to the ends of the earth for you,” Flynn grumbles as he carries me to Breaker’s truck but I don’t let him sit me down in it. I need his connection at least until I see my husband.
“I know,” I whisper laying my head against my brother’s chest while I focus on the doors to the building and wait for Breaker to come through.
The moment he does, I feel like I can breathe again.
“Might want to get back some,” he calls out as he gets close enough to take me out of Flynn’s arms as he looks over at one of his brothers. “Throttle, you have the other two?”
“Yeah, I’m takin’ them to deal with the remains,” Throttle states.
“Good,” Breaker grunts as he rounds the truck to the driver’s side slides me in first before climbing in and pulls me back into his arms. “I’m fuckin’ sorry I didn’t get here sooner, Spitfire,” he murmurs to me.
“It’s okay, I knew you’d come for me.” Lifting a hand, I brush a hand across his chest as my eyes grow heavy. “I love you, Orin,” I whisper.
“Love you to, mon amour, always.”
Smiling, I close my eyes and let the darkness take me knowing I was safe, and our baby would be okay.
I also knew my life was finally filled with everything I ever wanted.
Epilogue
Breaker
The day I met Nora; I knew she was going to be mine. Now as I stare down at her in our bed, my arms wrapped around her waist, I can’t help but think of the child she’s carrying.
The last few days have been complete and utter hell. I never want to go through what we went through again. The thought of having lost Nora to that fucker, Miles Granger, turns my stomach.
The sadistic bastard had taken her from me.
Granted, I’m known for being levelheaded and the jokester but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a short fuse, I’ll be the first to admit it. My brothers all know this as well. I’m not one to cross.
To say Nora has a way of testing my patience like no other is an understatement
. The day Miles took her, I’d fucked up, rather than explaining shit further to her I’d laid it down and told her what was happening, like I should have. She didn’t like it and threw her attitude at me. I didn’t need to deal with that at the moment and I’d put an end to it for the time being. I should have stayed and worked shit out with her. Maybe then that stupid bitch, Dee, wouldn’t have gotten to her.
Try as I might, my patience went out the window when Throttle stepped into the warehouse to tell me the news. My phone doesn’t get signal inside due to the hardware Fuse set up to keep anyone from being able to bug the place. When Throttle, Lynch, and Brake got my attention to break the news to me about Nora missing, my heart nearly shattered as the bomb dropped. If it hadn’t been for the fury inside me ready to break loose, I would have fallen to my knees but I wasn’t going to let my woman go that easily.
I swore then and there I’d stop at nothing to get her back. My brothers backed me on it. As Chains said, “We don’t do shit alone. Doesn’t matter who we go up against. We do it together.”
It didn’t take more than a few hours to find my woman, but we’d had to do this right in order to save her. Thankfully, Nora was back in my arms before midnight and I’d sat with her passed out in my arms as I watched the night light up with the flames where Miles’ body burned.
I’d slaughtered the two other men who had been in the building with Miles. I made sure to gut them like a fish leaving them wide open for the gators to have at them when I was done. I had Throttle load them in the cargo van, I hadn’t paid attention to at the time until we’d gotten Nora down from the chains. The next day I threw their bodies into the water. However, where Miles was concerned, I’d left his and Dee’s bodies, along with the man I now know Nora killed, lying on the floor of the building and set the place on fire. I had needed to make sure that he nor anyone else in that building would never see the light of day again by burning them all to a fuckin’ crisp.
