“No. I’ll wait for dinner.” He glanced over his shoulder to where Gerald had disappeared, then looked quickly back at them. “Listen, there’s something I wanted to talk to you about.”

  “What is it?” Kerry asked.

“Well, you know Gerald spends a lot of time here,” he said. “I was wondering how you felt about him moving in here.”

Kerry laughed. “We were betting on Christmas as the move-in date.” She moved closer to Carson and slid an arm around her waist. “We both love him,” she said. “I think it would be wonderful if he lived here.”

“You do?” Chase looked at Carson. “You, too, sis?”

“Yes. He fits in nicely with our little family.”

Relief shone on his face as he grinned. “Thanks. That means a lot.”

“You better hurry if you plan to catch him in the shower,” Kerry teased, causing an embarrassed Chase to flee. “God, he’s so cute.”

They both jumped as a gust of wind rattled the windowpanes. Heavy snow danced around, blowing in all directions, the light reflecting off each flake as they landed on the deck outside.

“Storm’s picking up,” Carson murmured, her gaze still fixed on the swirling snowflakes.

“I love storms,” Kerry said, leaning over to kiss Carson. “In fact, I think we have time to welcome this new storm in.” She kissed her again, her tongue tracing her lips. “The guys are in the shower,” she said softly. “Let’s sneak away. They’ll never miss us.”

Carson opened her mouth, letting Kerry inside, moaning as Kerry’s tongue touched hers. She gave in to Kerry’s desire, quickly setting their wineglasses down and leading Kerry to the other end of the house and their rooms. She barely had the door closed before Kerry had her pinned against it.

“I love you so much,” Kerry whispered. “I love touching you, making you tremble,” she said as her hands boldly cupped Carson’s breasts. “I love making you want me, I love...making you wet,” she murmured as her mouth covered Carson’s again.

Carson groaned—powerless—as Kerry slipped her thigh between Carson’s legs. Their desire always flared so quickly, there was no dousing the flame.

As the first winter storm of the season settled over them, the wind howling outside, flinging snow against the windows, Kerry’s warm hands chased the chill away, her whispered words fading in the quiet room, the only sound, their rapid breathing and stifled moans as they gave in to the love they shared.

No, they couldn’t extinguish the flame. Not now.

  Not ever.
