“I’m sorry for tossing those accusations at you about sleeping with him,” he said much later as they lay sated in each other’s arms. Tracing a path across her stomach then up to a breast, he took her hand in his and kissed each fingertip. “You have to take into account that I’m almost as inexperienced as you, you know.”

Sam brought her head up to peer at him in the fire glow. “For a pair of novices I’d say we didn’t do all that bad, did we?” she teased. A laugh burst from his throat and she bent to press kisses along his shoulder.

After a while he rose to toss another log on the fire. She admired him with unconcealed pleasure. She could spend all her life admiring his beauty and strength.

“Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?” she asked as he came back to kneel at her side.

Coming down beside her he pulled her back into his arms. “No, and I’m certain I’m not. You’re the beautiful one, Sam. All my body is fit for is bringing you pleasure. Did it?” There was such an air of hesitancy about his question she was stunned he should need reassurance.

“Well...” She pretended to ponder the problem. “You didn’t do too badly.”

“Not too bad, eh?” He made her giggle when he nuzzled her neck with his hot mouth. “In that case we’ve got a lot of practicing to do to make it perfect.”

“If it gets any more perfect I might die of pleasure.” She stroked his jaw and he turned his mouth to press a kiss into her palm.

As he pushed her down, a hand possessively on her stomach he sighed as he lowered his head to anoint her stomach with kisses. “Our baby. I love the idea.”

The aching tenderness in that statement brought tears to her eyes. “Me too.” Her voice quivered along with her skin beneath his adoring attention.

“I must have done something right to deserve this blessing,” he whispered. “My baby growing inside my woman. It’s too good to be true.”

“It’s true, love. You’d better believe it. And this will be the first of many.”

“Whatever you say.” With a hungry need she knew would never fade he covered her mouth with his and they became lost again in the splendor of shared love. A love that blossomed when they were too young to understand its depth. A love that had grown to conquer all obstacles.

Award winning author Tricia McGill was born in London, England, and moved to Australia many years ago, settling near Melbourne. The youngest in a large, loving family she was never lonely or alone. Surrounded by avid readers, who encouraged her to read from an early age, is it any wonder she became a writer? The local library was a treasure trove and magical world of discovery through her childhood and growing years. Although her published works cross sub-genres, romance is always at their heart.

Tricia’s love of animals has always shown up in her books. Tricia devotes as much time and money as she can spare to supporting worldwide conservation groups and is passionate about supporting those who do all they can to preserve our wildlife for future generations, especially elephants and orangutans who seem to be getting the raw end of the deal even in this enlightened age. She also volunteers for a local community group that helps disabled adults and children to connect to the internet with provided computer equipment. When people ask what she does in her spare time she is heard to ask, “Spare time, what is that?”
