Cry Woof

Esther clapped her hands together. “How wonderful!”
“That’s what we thought,” I agreed. “Bananas here is very particular. But she loves Duke. And I’m pretty sure the feeling is mutual.”
“I should say so,” Paul agreed, reaching out a trembling hand to pet Bananas. Dodge stepped forward to nose Esther’s purse, clearly on Peanut Butter Buddy patrol. Esther pulled out an entire package and unwrapped them all for Dodge.
I beamed happily at everyone while Dodge gobbled the treat — his second of the afternoon. Bananas was so busy purring at Duke that she didn’t even notice. Duke rubbed her under the chin and whispered secrets in her pointy ears. They had it, too. Bananas and Duke. The same thing Dodge and I had. A bond. It totally confirmed my theory that there was a dog out there for every human. Except sometimes the dog wasn’t exactly a dog — sometimes she just might be a cat.
Don’t miss any of Dodge and Cassie’s adventures!
