ROMANCE: Her Rogue Wolf (Paranormal Romance, Werewolf Romance, Shifter Romance)

“You know, I can bathe myself right?” She questioned and he laughed at her. “That might be true, but you are my princess now. One day you will be the queen of my pack, well of our new pack, and my queen shouldn’t have to do anything herself.” Once he finished his romantic and somewhat cheesy speech. He scooped her up in his arms and carried her to the bedroom still wrapped in the towel.
When they got to the bedroom he had her stand as he spent time patting down every inch of her body with the towel to make sure she was nice and dry. Then he smiled and took her hand leading her over to the bed.
She wasted no time tugging at his shirt and whining. “Come on now. It isn’t fair that I have to be naked and you get to stay dressed. Take your clothes off. Your princess commands it.”
He laughed again and stood up and quickly pulled his clothing off. She could feel her wolf stirring inside of her as he revealed his perfect and gorgeous body. He pushed her back on her back on the bed and stretched out over top of her giving her another long and passionate kiss. Similar to the one they had shared before the bath on the couch. She kissed him back just as passionately. She wanted him and she wanted him now.
Instead of just giving her what she wanted he used those soft and desirable lips to kiss his way up and down her body. She moaned and stirred on the bed her hands clenching the sheets as he continued to nip at the skin. Finally when he took her their wolves joined together along with their human forms and once they had made love they shifted to run through the woods together.
Once they were tired they made it to a clearing and shifted back laughing and joking around. They were each naked and lying on the forest floor. It was exciting and exhilarating.
“You never answered my question Charity. Will you be my mate?” he asked smiling down at her as he played with the hair that lay across his thigh.
“I’m already your mate, you silly man,” Charity laughed, “catch me if you can.” She shifted and took off back to the house and he gave chase. She felt free and alive knowing she’d finally found her one true wolf even if it had happened a little unconventionally.

Chapter One
Christy gawked at Helen as if she had two heads. Helen laughed as she said, “What? I’m just saying if he is as yummy as the last client that walked through the door, then you might be in over your head.”
Christy acted like she didn’t hear her and finished packing her briefcase. “Since I’ll be gone for a little while please don’t forget to run the background checks and financials on the men. You forgot last time and Marie had my ass when I got back. Like I was the one who forgot.” Christy said as she looked over her computer at Helen.
“I got this. This isn’t my first rodeo at Mated Wolf. I hope Curtis pans out. We could use some rich, oil cowboys in our neck of the woods.” Helen said with a laugh and a snort.
Christy shook her head at her bluntness, and smoothed her dress down. She picked up her small mirror and applied her lipstick. Not bad for a curvy woman.
“Alright I’m heading out now. I should be back on Monday. Wish me luck. Hopefully he signs with us.” Christy said as she shouldered her briefcase, and headed to her car.
Christy drove to the airport in relative peace. As much as she hated to fly, she was excited to meet Curtis. He had such great genes for the dating pool. The werewolf pools had thinned out over the last two decades. It was like all of the viable men, had just disappeared. The fact that Curtis was rich, a cowboy, handsome, and a werewolf was like a million to one odds. Now if only Christy could find someone like that. Someone to call hers. Maybe not a werewolf, because they usually only would date other werewolves. And she was pretty sure dating a half breed was totally out of the question. Especially one that couldn’t turn very well.
Christy’s smile turned into a frown when she realized she had almost no chance to marry inside of a pack. The packs only wanted viable females to mate with. The fact that she couldn’t easily shift ruined everything. She was damned if she did and damned if she didn’t. She didn’t fit into the human dating scene because not as many human males were into women with a little extra padding. Even if she had porcelain skin, blonde hair, big crystal blue eyes, and tits bigger than her head. The traffic in San Diego was pretty light on her way to the airport. She pulled into long term parking, checked her makeup, and grabbed her bags. The quick walk across the sky bridge was grueling in her five inch heels. Sailors walked by in every direction. She never had a problem getting attention, it was keeping it that held the problem. The lines for the check in kiosks were short for that time of day. After she had her tickets in hand she made her way to security. The security guard made sure to linger a little longer than necessary when he patted her chest down. Christy just rolled her eyes as she grabbed her stuff from the conveyer belt, and made her way to the gate.
It was only a three hour flight but it felt like an eternity. The man seated next to her had fallen asleep on her shoulder multiple times. Each time he startled himself awake as he let out loud snores. She quickly made her way through the Houston airport, and outside to the rental car area. The clerk made it simple and easy with her speed pass, as he quickly handed her the car keys. When Christy left the airport the heat radiating off the blacktop hit her like a ton of bricks. She rushed to the car rental lot and clicked the button to find the car quickly. A white mustang sat in the corner just for her. She smiled as she popped the trunk and put her stuff in. She’d never drove a mustang before. When she climbed into the car she typed in the coordinates for Curtis’s ranch in Galveston, and it told her it would take one hour and eleven minutes. Not bad considering it had taken her a three hour flight to get here.
Christy turned the AC on full blast and followed the GPS’s directions. When the GPS said, you have arrived at your destination, Christy was shocked to see at least a mile, maybe more, of property that had to be Curtis’s. Not to mention the two oil pumps that were churning as she drove up the gravel road. In awe Christy almost didn’t catch the gorgeous man riding a black horse, next to her car. She slammed on her brakes and lowered the window.
“Curtis Winslow?” Christy said as she eyed the built, beefcake on the black horse.
“It certainly is. Are you Christy?” Curtis asked her.
“I certainly am.” Christy said with a giggle, as she put the car in park.
“Follow me ma’am.” Curtis said with a wink and a wave of his hand as he started to run the horse next to the gravel road. She followed slowly until they came to a large ranch house. It was beautiful. She only hoped that maybe she could just stay with him, even to just get a better eyeful, for later. Curtis stopped next to a large four car garage, jumped off of his horse and walked to her car. Before she could open her door, he held it for her.
“Thank you,” Christy said, as she held her hand out her hand. He said, “Let me get Shadow watered, and tied up and I’ll show you to your room. I bet you’re mighty hungry.”
Christy shook her head as she smoothed her sun dress down the back of her. The last thing she needed was for her panties to hang out. She followed Curtis into the gorgeous brick colored stables. In each stall there was a different colored horse. Curtis walked Shadow into a large pen, and poured fresh water for him. The stall next to Shadow had a colt and the mother. Christy couldn’t he
lp herself and reached in to touch the baby. Just as her fingers brushed his bristly coat, the mama horse kicked the stall within inches of Christy’s arm. She pulled it back as if she’d been burned.
“Oh no, she didn’t get you did she? Jana is mighty protective of her youngin. I’m sorry I should have warned you. She really only lets me near him.” Curtis said as he closed Shadow’s gate and took her hand to make sure she was okay.
Christy stared into his blue eyes as he held her hand. “Seems like you’re ok. Let’s get inside and out of the damned heat.” Curtis let go and walked her through a walkway into the side door of the large house. When he opened the door the cool air hit her and helped soothe some of the heat. Curtis led her through a maze of hallways until they got to a small set of stairs. They ascended the stairs into a large open kitchen.
“Want some lemonade, or sweet tea? I’ll send Marshall out to get your bags when he gets back. He had to go down to the south pasture and wrangle up a calf that was born this morning.” Curtis said with a small smile, as he pulled his dip from his back pocket and shoved a small pouch into his cheek. Christy was in awe of him, and didn’t realize he had been talking to her.
“Tea or Lemonade darlin?” Curtis said as he held the large refrigerator door open.
“Oh, sorry tea please.” Christy said with a broad smile, which showcased her brilliant white teeth. Curtis pulled the tea out and poured Christy a glass and walked it to her careful not to spill.
“Thank you. When do you want to get started with the interview?” Christy asked, wanting to get to know everything there was to know about him. Curtis smiled at Christy as he made his way over to the large rectangular table.
“Can we do it tomorrow? I think maybe we should get to know each other, and have a good night. Especially after you had such a long trip.” Curtis said, as he lifted his glass and sipped his tea.
Christy nodded in response and sipped her tea, as she glanced around.
“I’ll show you to your room. I made sure you got the room with the Jacuzzi tub in it. I bet you need a relaxin bath after your trip.” Curtis said with his sexy Texas draw. A door shutting drew their attention as they heard the pounding of boots coming up the stairs.
“Hey Marshall, can you go out and get Ms. Christy’s bags out of her trunk. I’m sure she wants to get cleaned up before she eats dinner. Bring them to the lilac room.” Curtis said as he turned towards the grey haired, weathered cowboy.
“Certainly Curtis. I’ll go grab them now.” Marshall turned and walked right back down the stairs and returned only moments later with all of my belongings.
“I’ll take you up so you can clean up for dinner. I’ll be down in a few I need to shower as well. We’re having smoked brisket for dinner. This way darlin.” Curtis held his hand out and she followed him down a hallway to a room with double doors. Christy nodded at him, and slowly closed the doors behind her. Like a kid in the candy store Christy ran to the bed and plopped down.
The plush mattress, and down comforter encased her. Sleepiness quickly took over, forcing her to get up, and make her way to the bathroom. The floor was a white and gold granite. The large Jacuzzi garden tub sat in the corner. She turned the faucet on and kicked her heels off then stripped down to her skivvies. Looking around she found a bath oil and slowly dripped it into the running faucet. The button for the jets was at her fingertips, as she pressed it to enjoy the bubbles. She was completely relaxed in the nice warm water. Christy turned the faucet off, closed her eyes and let the bubbles do their job.
“You ok in there darlin? We didn’t lose you did we?” Curtis asked from the other side of the bathroom door.
Startled awake Christy replied quickly, “No sorry, I fell asleep. This tub will be my downfall.”
Christy heard a small chuckle on the other side of the door, as she washed up. Her body felt like mush as she padded barefoot across the plush carpeting towards her bags. She pulled out another sun dress, and slipped it on.
Chapter Two
Christy and Curtis got to know each other over dinner, and enjoyed each other’s company well into the wee hours of the morning. The morning came quickly, and Christy was awakened by the smell of something amazing cooking. Sitting up she wiped the sleep from her eyes and looked down to make sure she was still dressed appropriately. She brushed her teeth and hair and made her way out to the kitchen.
When Christy came around the corner of the she saw fresh orange juice in a beautiful pitcher sitting on the table. The smell of coffee accosted her senses as her mouth watered from all of the delicious smells. Curtis was standing over a large cast iron skillet stirring a sausage gravy. The oven alarm went off, and Curtis donned a pair of oven mitts and pulled out freshly made biscuits. Christy hadn’t had homemade biscuits and gravy in years. It was the sexiest thing she’d ever seen a man do, and she had to force her mouth to close.
“Morning.” Christy said.
He looked her up and down quickly and smiled as he said, “Mornin Darlin, did you sleep well?”
“I certainly did it smells great.” Christy said as she made her way to the table. She poured herself a cup, and sat down in one of the high back mahogany chairs. Christy sipped the black nectar and watched Curtis in his tight wranglers. He decided on a more casual look this morning– shirtless. Christy was almost swooning as she slowly sipped her coffee, and watched Curtis bring a full plate of breakfast over to her. He quickly filled his own plate, and returned to sit directly across from her.
“Thank you, this looks so yummy.” Christy said, as she cut her food. Curtis nodded and watched her eat making her self-conscious. The breakfast was delicious.
“I think maybe after breakfast we can go over the paperwork, and start the process of finding you a proper pack mate.” Christy said to Curtis as she pushed her chair out and rinsed her plate in the sink.
“I’m in no hurry. But we can if you would like too.” Curtis said as he finished his food off.
Christy smiled at him. She went back to the room, picked out a cute blue dress and a pair of wedges. She walked back into the living room to find him watching the news.
“Wow you look really pretty today.” Curtis said.
“Thank you Curtis.” Christy said with a smile.
Christy unpacked her briefcase and pulled out the papers she needed. She put them neatly in front of her on the table.
“You ready?” Christy said as she clicked her pen.
“As ready as I’ll ever be. I’m only doing this because my pack wants me to settle down.” Curtis said as he turned off the TV.
“Ok. What is your ideal mate?” Christy asked.
Curtis sat quietly for a moment then said, “Well, I like a woman that’s fun. Not skin and bones. I don’t want to feel like I’ll break her if I push too hard. I like women that are like– well curvy like you. I’m far too large in some places to be with a woman that’s a buck nothing.” Curtis said with a smile as she wrote everything down. Christy’s face turned beet red as everything Curtis said registered. He liked girls like her. Does that mean he likes her? Did he just say he was large in some places? She needed to concentrate.
“Ok, next question. Is there a hair color, eye color, or race. Do you want a specific kind of with a pack or a loner?” Christy asked.
“Ummm, any color hair, I love blue eyes, I don’t care about race. I would prefer a shifter because human woman aren’t generally strong enough to birth our young. But a mixed race, or part wolf is fine also. Hmm pack. I’m only part of a pack because I’m next in line for alpha. If it wasn’t for the life my mother and father had chosen for me, I’d be a loner. So she could be either or.” Curtis said as he folded his hands back in his lap.
Christy smiled at Curtis as she finished writing everything down. “Ok, sex on the first date or wait a while? How do you like to be pleasured? Have you been with a lot of women? Your health exam came back clean so you have no STDs or any abnormalities.”
Curtis’s eyes got big as he thought
of all of the questions she just asked him. “Well, I have had sex on the first date but I don’t like too. I prefer to wait. I like pleasure anyway I can get it, “he teased.” It’s a favorite of mine. I’ve been with my share of women. I haven’t counted. But I’m no man whore.”
Christy wrote it all down as she snuck glimpses of him over her paper. His blue eyes were magnetizing, as if they were drawing her in.
“My turn.” Curtis said in a playful, voice as he smacked the couch.
Christy nervously looked at Curtis, “If you’d like too.”
“First question. Are you wolf?” Curtis asked as he smiled and leaned forward.
“Umm, yes. I’m part wolf. But that’s not a prerequisite to work at Mated Wolf. I just love helping people find true love.” Christy said with confidence.
“Next question. Do all of your interviewees wonder what you’d look like riding them?” Curtis said as he leaned in a little closer.
Christy turned beet red. The neck of her dress suddenly felt tight as he waited for the answer. “I’ve had a few guys interested in me.”
Curtis accepted the answer as he sat back into the couch and though for a second then said. “Next question. What’s your kind of guy?”
“I’d like him to be attractive, funny, kind, firm when he needed to be, and lovable.” Christy said quickly.
Curtis stood up, and stared at Christy. He reached his hand out and waited for Christy to take it. She willingly took it, and was slowly pulled to her feet by his muscular body. The papers in her lap drifted to the floor, fluttering softly as they landed.
He pulled her body against the solid wall of his chest and her heart sped up. A knot had formed in the back of her throat and her mouth felt as dry as the Texas heat. The slow and dull ache that had started when she first lay eyes on him was now throbbing out of control.
