Colin brought his hands to her breasts, rolling both of her nipples between his fingers and thumbs while she did the same to his. She flattened her hands on his chest and raised her body up and down, sliding his cock in and out of her in slow, tortuous movements.

Colin couldn’t stand it any longer and took control, grabbing onto her hips and increasing her pace, making her breasts bounce with each thrust. They settled into a pattern of pumping, then grinding, Colin lifting his hips off the bed to meet her as she resheathed him within her.

  “Roll me,” she gasped.

With a wide grin, Colin brought her down to him, breasts to chest, and rolled her underneath him. He pressed his hips into her and rolled them in his own figure-eight, Bailey’s ankles locked around his waist, her heels digging into his ass. He bent down and bit the muscle between her neck and shoulder, then kissed the small wound to sooth it, all the while rolling his hips into her softness.

He pulled one leg and then other over his shoulders and he pressed, balls-deep, into her.

“Is this okay?” he grunted. “Does it hurt?”

“I want you deeper, Colin. As deep as you can go.”

He was balanced on one hand, the other stroking her face. She raised her hips to him and ground against him, causing him to breathe a “Fuck!” and making her laugh. He rose up on his knees and put his hands on either side of her head.

“Are you ready? Do you want this, Bailey?”

Bailey just nodded, her eyes wild with lust.

Colin began to thrust, one hand remaining between her shoulder and neck, the other gripping her thigh that was draped over his shoulder. He began slowly, pulling and pushing in a deliberate, unrushed rhythm. Bailey’s breathing sped up, and when she grabbed his ass, pulling his hips into her softness, he sped up, ending with a hard pistoning cadence that caused Bailey to groan with pleasure.

Bailey moved her legs from his shoulders and spread her thighs, feet flat on the bed, hips bucking to meet Colin’s furious thrusting. The only sounds in the dark bedroom were of their heavy breathing and their bodies slapping together. Bailey’s breathing hitched and suddenly she was shattering, causing Colin’s balls to tighten in anticipation of his own orgasm. Her core clenched around him and she grabbed his neck tightly, looking fiercely at him. Her gaze focused on his and suddenly she pulled away. He slipped out of her and he frantically wondered what he did to upset her.

Then she smiled a secret smile, and, turning her back to him, kneeled on the bed, thrusting her rump up to him and pulling a pillow under her chest.

“Bailey, are you sure?” he asked. “You don’t have to.”

“I know I don’t, Colin, but I want to,” she said, looking back at him. “I know you’re going to love me.”

Colin ran one hand down her spine and kept one on her hip. He brought the head of his cock in line with her core, and pushed into her in one smooth movement. He curled around her back, holding her to his chest, his hips swiveling against her. He hummed with pleasure and kissed her sweetly on the side of the face as their bodies moved together.

  “Harder, Colin.”

He pulled out, almost all the way, and then slid back into her core, watching where their bodies joined, his cock slick with her pleasure. He grabbed both of her hips, slamming them into his thrusting, moving faster and faster, eyes glued to their juncture, his balls slapping into her ass as he pumped in and out of her. She shuddered and exploded again, and this time she allowed him to come with her, his cock throbbing as her core gripped him, milked him as he spent inside her.

Colin ran his hands over her damp back. He leaned over her, engulfing her small body with his huge one, and clasped her to him, kissing the back of her neck and her shoulders. He pulled out, and laid down, pulling her into his arms and kissing her face and neck.

“Now, that’s what I’m talking about,” she said with a chuckle. “That is exactly what I needed.”

Colin didn’t say a word. He kissed her on the mouth once more before cradling her against him.

“Thank you, Colin.” She kissed his sweaty pec.

He chuckled. “No. Thank you,” he said and kissed the top of her head before falling into a blissful, sated sleep.

  Chapter Twenty-four

  December

“Holy crap,” was all Colin could say.

Colin was used to a Duke Christmas, which generally was comprised of the same tiny table-top tree that Duke had purchased the first year Colin had spent the holiday with him, and a brisket and Colin and Duke, and later, Junior. Now, he was experiencing a Full-Metal Em Christmas in all its sparkly, bling-y glory.

Paddy grinned up at Colin, while Mick and Rory were merely amused, having been introduced to Full-Metal Em Christmas the year before.

“Wow,” Colin mumbled to his brother. “She’s kind of scary with the holiday stuff, isn’t she?” Mick just chuckled and shook his head.

Rory pressed his fingers into his eyes. “Just wait until Ashley gets here. It’ll get even scarier.”

Colin laughed at the big Irishman’s discomfort. “So you ready to officially meet everyone?”

“If he’s not, it’s a wee bit too late,” Paddy said with a laugh. “But things happen for a reason, yeah?”

“Yeah,” Colin said. “How’s she doing? I haven’t had a chance to visit with her.”

“Well, I think she’s over the morning sickness, thank goodness. But I tell you what,” he lowered his voice, “she’s about to wear me out, with the...you know...”

“I told you, b’y,” Mick said with a knowing laugh. “I told you.”

  “Yes, you did. Whoo.”

“Your mother was the exact same way, boyo,” Paddy began but stopped when it seemed his son was either going to cry or vomit. He patted the side of Rory’s head and grinned instead.

Junior and Ashley arrived at the same time, squabbling about some unknown subject.

“Rory, do you know what Junior had the unmitigated gall to tell me?” Ashley said, pointing her finger at Junior’s chest as she waved a plate of devilled eggs around. Mick flew from the couch and rescued the eggs, and Rory put his mouth on Ashley’s to make her stop talking.

Junior quirked an eyebrow at Colin. “Now that’s how you shut someone up.” Junior looked around Mick and Em’s home. “Dios, it looks like Christmas threw up all over this place. Wow. Pretty different from Christmas as Duke’s, huh, Colin?”

  “You’re telling me.”

Mick had his head cocked to the side. “I spent one Christmas with Duke. It was pretty soon after he started seeing Moira. He didn’t have a tree or anything, but I remember riding in that big car of his and driving around the city for absolute hours, looking at Christmas lights.”

Colin inhaled a shaky breath and blinked his eyes. “Yep. That’s Christmas with Duke.”

Colin felt a small hand slide into his and give it a squeeze and he looked down to see Bailey looking up at him, her eyes bright with unshed tears and a soft smile on her face. She squeezed his hand again and patted his chest.

“B’y, I didn’t mean to upset you,” Mick said softly.

Colin just shook his head and Mick nodded in understanding.

Junior whistled low. “Do all your gatherings get this intense this fast? Because I’m gonna need a whole lot more eggnog if that’s the case.”

  “Merry Christmas, Colin.”

Colin stopped what he was doing to look at Bailey. She was standing by the breakfast bar in a pair of flannel pajamas with ice skating polar bears on them, her hair piled on top of her head and fuzzy slippers on her feet. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever laid eyes on.

“Merry Christmas, Bailey.” Maude shrieked with joy, shaking a bow that was almost as big as she was. Colin laughed. “And merry Christmas to you, little babydoll.” He sat up and Maude crawled over to him. He pulled the little girl into his lap and kissed the top of her head. “What time do you go to Tripp’s?”
/>   “I’m supposed to be there at noon, but I don’t want to go. I want to stay here and lounge around with you and eat leftovers and watch football and read my books and look at the fire.”

“Sounds good to me,” Colin said, “but I know that Maude’s grandparents want to see her on Christmas.”

Bailey sighed. “I know. If I didn’t think that Tripp would totally lose his mind, I’d bring you over. I know Ed and Madeleine wouldn’t mind at all.”

Colin shook his head and said, “Yeah, that’s not a good idea. I’ll pick up Junior and we’ll go hang with Mick and Em for a while.”

Maude rolled out of Colin’s lap and began crawling over to Bailey. “Okay, Stinky, let’s get you in the bathtub, okay?”

  “Da!”

Colin was out later than he expected and he didn’t hear from Bailey at all during the day. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw her little car in the driveway and the Christmas tree lit up in the living room window. When he let himself into the house, all was quiet except for the Christmas songs that were playing softly. He could see that Maude’s bedroom door was shut, a sign that she was already in bed.

He wandered through the small house, looking for Bailey, who he found in soaking in the bathtub with a glass of eggnog.

  “That good, huh?”

Bailey grinned. “Actually, it was fine. It just took a lot out of me.”

“I’ll bet.” Colin hovered in the doorway until Bailey grinned at him and said, “Colin, sit your butt down and visit with me. Or better yet, join me in the tub.”

Colin looked skeptically at the bathtub. It was roomy, but he didn’t think that both of them would fit.

  “Colin, come here.”

  “Ooh, bossy on Christmas.”

Bailey rolled her eyes. “Come here. Get in the tub. It’ll be cozy.”

“More like ‘squashed’, Bailey,” he said, but started stripping off his clothes anyway. Bailey scooted up and he got in the bathtub. “Wow, you like the water hot, don’t you?”

“Yeah, I do,” she said with a grin as he settled back into the tub. Colin held out his arms and Bailey nestled against him, her back to his chest, sighed contentedly. “Now, this is nice.”

She felt engulfed by his big body, protected and secure and enveloped. Colin kissed her temple and tugged on the piece of hair that always seemed to come loose.

“Your hair is always so soft,” he murmured. “And it always smells so good. Like cookies or something.”

“Vanilla shampoo,” she said with a grin.

“Well, that explains why you always smell good enough to eat.” Colin nibbled on her ear. “So, it really was okay? Tripp wasn’t a jackass?”

“No, he wasn’t too much of a jackass, and Ed and Madeleine were so thrilled to have Maude there, it didn’t matter.”

“I guess that’s good. You sound kind of sad, anyway.”

“I was just thinking about Christmas when I was growing up.”

“Yeah? You wanna talk about it?”

Bailey took a deep breath, and then exhaled hard. “Maybe?” she said with a chuckle. “We didn’t have a lot, most of the time.” She could feel Colin’s nod and kiss to the top of her head. “Half of the time we wouldn’t do presents because there was no money for presents or, if there was, it went to something else. But Mama had this little crappy aluminum tree that she always decorated, no matter what condition she was in. That tree made her happy, so it made us happy, even if there was nothing under it.”

Colin squeezed her tight. “Sounds a lot like Christmas when I was with Mick, except we didn’t even have a tree, and Moira never, ever seemed happy. Mickey usually figured out how to do something festive though, even if it was just paper chains.”

  “And Duke?”

Colin laughed. “Oh, man, Duke. I know you only talked to him when we did the Skype session last Christmas, but I’m sure you could tell that he was a man’s man, right?”

Bailey nodded, remembering the gruff man with the warm eyes and booming voice, even though you could tell he was very ill.

“Moira asked him to come up about two weeks before Christmas, so all of a sudden, when he was used to spending Christmas alone, he had this little kid, the son that he didn’t know he had. He got this little tabletop tree and we decorated it, and every year, he just put it in a garment bag, decorations and all, and put it up until the next year.” Colin laughed softly. “But he was crazy for Christmas lights. I can’t imagine how much the bills were for the month of December. He’d put the lights up on Thanksgiving Day and leave them up until January 6th.”

  “That sounds nice, Colin.”

“It was. And we’d go to the VFA and he would dress up like Santa Claus and give out presents to the kids at the boys and girls club.”

“That’s really nice, too. We were never allowed to go those breakfasts.”

  “What breakfasts?”

  “The poor kid breakfasts.”

  “Oh.”

Bailey shook her head. “But that was then and this is now, and now I have my own baby to make traditions with, and people who care about me and people that I care about, and it’s all good.” Bailey turned her upper body around and repeated, “It’s all good.”

Colin huffed a small laugh and said, “Yeah, it’s all good, Bailey.” And he gave her a sweet kiss.

  Chapter Twenty-five

  March

“I can’t believe it’s been year since I had you, little munchkin. Time moves so quickly sometimes.” Bailey took a shuddering breath, totally overwhelmed with emotion. Maude looked at her mother with a concerned expression. “Gosh, I just love you so much.”

“Babydoll, you doing okay today?” Colin hadn’t seen Bailey this emotional in a long, long time.

“I’m fine, Colin. Really.” She gave him a watery smile, hoping that she could trick him.

“Oh, babydoll. Sweet girl, come here.” He pulled her into his arms and held her close until she felt better.

“Thank you,” she said meekly. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” She blew out a breath. “Okay, I’m fine. I’m fine.” When Colin looked at her, full of doubt, she repeated, “I’m fine!” but her lip wobbled and her nose burned with unshed tears.

He pulled her close again and rubbed her back. “Shh, it’s okay, Bailey. It’s okay.” He stood and held her and patted her back. “I’m gonna put Maude in her crib, babydoll.”

“Why? She’s not…oh.” Bailey saw Maude asleep in the floor, a blanket and her rag rabbit clutched to her chest.

“Uh-huh. I think Mama needs to lie down a bit, too. Let me take care of this little baby, and then I’ll take care of you, okay?” Bailey nodded, but just stood in the living room. “Bailey, go into the bedroom and get in the bed, babydoll.”

  “Okay.”

Colin shook his head as he laid Maude in her crib. Hopefully she would sleep for an hour or two so he could take care of her mother. He paused to look at the sleeping little girl, pressed a kiss to his fingers and put them on her head and quietly shut the door.

  “Bailey? Bai… oh, babydoll.”

Colin huffed a quiet laugh as he looked at Bailey. She had taken her jeans off but left her t-shirt on and was curled up on the bed, sound asleep. She was as worn out as Maude was.

He stripped off his clothes and climbed on the bed. He nestled up against her body and put his arms around her. God, this felt good. So good.

“Need you, sugar,” she murmured. “Need you right now.”

Bailey found Colin’s mouth as she pressed further back into him. He groaned when she pressed her bottom against his groin.

He wrapped his hand around her hip and ground into her. Bailey exhaled a little whimper, followed by a groan. “You need to be in me.”

  “Whatever you want, sweetheart.”

Colin slipped his hands under her t-shirt and gripped her breasts. He nibbled on the soft skin of her neck and the exposed skin of her sho
ulder.

  “Now, Colin. Take me now.”

Almost completely overwhelmed by his arousal, he slid her panties down and off. Colin ran a finger lightly over the curls nestled between her thighs before he dipped his finger into her soft core. Her breath hitched and she wiggled back against him.

  “More,” she said.

So he gave her more. More kisses. More pressure.

  “Colin. More.”

He was practically vibrating with need as he slid into her wet softness, and when he did, they both sighed. Colin stayed still, just loving the feeling of her, the closeness of her, and then he began to move, rocking his hips to her bottom and running his hands all over the front of her body.

Biting down on her neck, Colin pulled her hips back into him as he thrust into her, one big hand placed on her mound just right for her to begin her ascent.

  “More, Colin…”

His fingers found her most sensitive spot and he rolled the nub between his finger and his thumb. Bailey let out a little squeak and her eyes flew open. She felt Colin smile against her cheek before he kissed it softly. “There it is,” he whispered. He kissed behind her ear and said, “I’ll bring you whatever you need, Bailey.”

“So bring me over, Colin. Now.”

  And he did.

“Looks like both of my girls are feeling better,” Colin said with a small, pleased grin. Bailey snorted and pretended to ignore his flirty comment.

“Yes, that nap did all of us good,” she said as she smoothed the tablecloth over her kitchen table. Then she giggled.

Maude clapped and laughed at the sound of her mother’s laughter.

Colin just shook his head and kept grinning, but Bailey noticed his ears had pinked up. She went over to him and stretched up on her toes for a kiss, which he obliged her by bending down to her. “Thank you,” she whispered.

  “Anytime,” he chuckled.
