Werewolves Wanting Love 1
One Very Special Woman
The moment werewolves Merek Hopwood and Benedict Shearer see Ebony Tainton they know she’s the woman for them. Only problem is, she and her sister Ivory are the dance teachers at the conference, with very little time to party and the need to treat all the men perfectly equally.
Merek, a Dom, and Ben set out to spend every available moment with Ebony, which means attending every class she teaches. Merek also takes the time to plan some special things she might agree to do, such as a picnic. They’re very happy when she agrees to have lunch with them, but frustrated by having to share her with the many other wolves who also want to dance with her and talk to her and her sister.
They only have a week. Will they ever get her alone to show her how much they love her and want to make her theirs?

Chapter One
“I’m glad we let Marbella talk us into coming here. I think it’s going to be awesome fun.” Ebony Tainton grinned at her sister Ivory. Ivory’s bright blue eyes, identical to her own, sparkled back at her.
“Uh-huh. How could it not be fun with almost two hundred desperate and dateless werewolves and us all in the same room?”
“But it’s a large room.” Ebony couldn’t resist teasing her sister. There was only thirteen months in age between them and they’d grown up always doing everything together.
As Ebony had known she would do, Ivory burst out laughing.
“All right. Let’s get this sorted. There’s an electrical outlet over there so we could lead the class from this end of the room. That way any latecomers could sneak in at the back and not be embarrassed.” Ebony waved her arms, pointing out the room’s design and Ivory swiveled on her heels, watching. In less time than she’d expected, they’d decided how their classes would be set up.
“After all, if it doesn’t work tomorrow, we’ll just switch it up the next day. We’re here for a whole week but I expect few people will be interested in coming by the end of the week. They’ll have chosen a mate or learned how to dance enough to get by,” said Ivory.
“Unless they choose to come just for the exercise. Wolves have way more energy than we do. And don’t forget they’ll be full of testosterone with the hope of finding a mate, but there aren’t enough women to go around.”
Ivory’s smile faded. “I know. That’s sad. But perhaps most of the women coming here will choose two or even three men each. That way there’ll be fewer men left out.”
“Do you want two men?” The very thought of two—or more—men making love to her had Ebony’s panties dampening, but it wasn’t a topic they’d ever specifically discussed.
“Hell yes. Twice the kisses, twice the touching, twice the orgasms. How could I say no? But it might be just like Dad’s pack where no one really jumps out at me as being Mr. Right.”
“That’s why Mom was nagging at us to look for Mr. Good Enough,” said Ebony.
“I’d rather find two Mr. Rights.”
This time it was Ebony who laughed. “Let’s go unpack and then we can walk around the rest of the conference center and get our bearings. We don’t have to start work until tomorrow, after all.”
It took a while to unpack all their luggage. Although Marbella, the fitness trainer for the Hanson Mall werewolf pack, had encouraged them to sign up as dance teachers, they were also expected to participate in all the parties because they were single. Which meant a lot of different clothes for the days and for the nights.
Ebony paused as she unpacked her shoes. “I know there were far more boys than girls in our pack, but it’s still hard for me to realize that the shortage of female shape-shifters is worldwide.”
Ivory flopped down on her bed. “Poor Daddy. He never knows whether to be proud of himself for fathering two girls, or sad that neither of us inherited the wolf gene.”
“But Mom’s right. We’re both getting closer to thirty and likely it’s time to get a little more serious about finding a man of our own. I’m ready to have my own house, and my own bathroom.”
“You’d better make sure there are two bathrooms if you want two
men, otherwise you’ll still be waiting in line to brush your teeth.”
Ebony laughed and threw a shoe at Ivory, who ducked. They’d shared a bedroom all their lives, and now they were sharing a cabin at the second Desperate and Dateless Interspecies Week-Long House Party, held at the Konference Kabins convention center.
“Hurry up. I want to look around. Marbella said they had all kinds of awesome stuff here last year,” said Ebony as Ivory threw the shoe back to her. She caught it and put it with the others on her side of the closet.
Already people were arriving and starting to settle in. The main foyer area of the central cabin was gradually filling up with little shops selling things to convention attendees. The range of stores was amazing. A chocolatier, a flower shop, a jeweler, a tiny pharmacy, an adult store, and several different cafes and food providers. Outside there were two huge hot tubs already full of bubbling warm water and with benches nearby for people to leave their towels and shoes on, or to sit and talk to friends indulging in the tubs.
Ebony and Ivory stood and watched for a while out front on the lawns, as workers were setting up several different sports courts. Because all these male wolves need to run off their energy, thought Ebony. “We need to keep the pace up in our classes. Likely most of the men will be fitter than us.”
“Lucky there’s two of us then. We can tag team. That should burn off some of their excess testosterone,” said Ivory wickedly.
“I was thinking though, instead of doing the same class at nine, then at ten, and again at eleven, maybe we should do a higher intensity one at ten.”
“How were you planning to do that?”
Ebony hesitated. “I hadn’t really planned it at all, but it should be easy enough. Just more repetition in the same time period would work. So the speed is constant and there’s no rest breaks.”
“No rest breaks would be good. You and I can swap after each exercise so we’re both always fresh but the wolves are getting a harder, faster workout.”
“Let’s do it.”
Ivory high-fived her. That was the amazing thing about working with her sister. They understood each other instantly.
It was the also the main thing that worried her about looking for a mate here at the DADISP. What if they fell in love with men who came from packs at opposite ends of the country and they almost never saw each other again? Skype and Instagram were fine, but she’d always been within hugging distance of her sister before. Oh well, she’d worry about that later. Maybe it’d be just like in their dad’s pack and none of the men here would interest either of them.
* * * *
Benedict Shearer and Merek Hopwood had joined together with the express purpose of cooperating to woo and win a woman to share, within a month of the Supreme Alpha of North America confirming that interspecies mating and ménage mating were both approved of and endorsed by him. Their Alpha, Jasper, and his second-in-command, Cornelian, had fallen in love with a human woman to the horror of some members of their pack. Jasper had had to fight for Taige, both literally and figuratively. But he’d won her, and their pack had been blessed by the inclusion of several other human women as well, and a female who was a red fox, Bianca, who’d done a lot of the organizing for the first DADISP.
The DADISP had been Jasper’s idea, and with help from the three human women who’d mated into his pack, the first Desperate and Dateless Interspecies Week-Long House Party had been born. But Jasper had remained firm that the men from his pack would have no special advantages. That meant that even though both Benedict and Merek had passed the really strict tests to register for last year’s party, when the numbers were capped at three men per women registered, they’d ended up on a waiting list and missed out. So this time, the minute the registrations had opened, they’d retaken all the tests, which seemed even harder this year.
Benedict had almost panicked, thinking he might have failed the tests and ruined his chances in his hurry to ensure he got in before the number limit was reached, but fortunately they’d both passed and made it here. He couldn’t wait. He was absolutely sure there’d be a woman here who appealed to them both, and then it was just a matter of wooing her so thoroughly she agreed to mate them.
Just. Yeah, it was a huge task, but it was the only chance of happiness they had, so he’d give it all his attention and every ounce of his efforts this week. He and Merek had even role-played various scenes with Taige and her friends, to try to ensure they were prepared for every possible scenario that might arise during the week.
Now that they were here he was sweating worse than ever, worrying about how he should behave. He desperately wanted to look at each woman and see if she was The One. But Taige’s friend Ginny had warned them not to look at the women as if they were juicy steaks and he was a starving werewolf. She’d also told him that when dancing with a woman his gaze should be on her face, not her breasts. Well, he could do that, no worries, but how was he supposed to walk around the conference center without looking at the women when he wanted to look at them? Damn, this was complicated.
“Why don’t we go for a run around the property? That way we’ll have something we’re doing and we can’t be accused of staring,” suggested Merek.
Benedict heaved a sigh of relief. “That’s perfect. We can do that. Good thinking.”
They changed into running clothes, and set out at jogging pace. Their true aim was to look around, not to burn off energy by racing, so jogging speed was just right. Slow enough to look at things as they ran past, but not so slow as to annoy anyone.
All the men’s cabins were the ones farthest from the main building. The women’s cabins were closer. That made good sense as the men could escort their woman back to her cabin and keep walking. It also meant that the females were closer to all the facilities and events and easier to protect. And protection seemed to be a big deal. There were a lot of big, beefy security guards around. Nobody could get into any event without being checked in and out.
Ben knew that last year some wolves had attempted to kidnap some of the women here. They hadn’t been successful but it meant that this year security was even tighter than the previous year. Everyone had to supply a special password only their Alpha knew, to use as confirmation if there was any doubt about their identity. That was as well as having a big blue number that couldn’t be washed off stamped on the back of their left hand.
He and Merek ran along the path past the cabins and into the gardens. They swung in a huge semicircle over through the trees, and then around past a maintenance barn and along the other side of the complex through more gardens, back around past all the buildings, and then they were on the front lawns.
Eight men were already playing some doubles games of tennis, and another dozen men were playing volleyball on another court. A few women and a dozen more men were watching the games. Once again Ben wondered if he and Merek would find their woman here, and how on Earth they’d ever find her if she wasn’t here.
Ben followed Merek as they ran the circuit again, this time finishing up by the hot tubs. Half a dozen men were sitting in one of tubs already, laughing together. Ben wondered if they’d just met or had known each other before the conference. There were limits on how many men could come from each pack, but the caps were increased if the pack sent unmarried women along. His pack had sent only him and Merek so no extra points for them.
They walked inside and slowly looked at the various little stores. They’d known the stores would be here, which was good because it meant they could give their woman a gift that truly suited her, instead of trying to guess and bringing something with them she might hate, or that was in totally the wrong color for her.
They stopped at the big double doors to the main room, which was where the parties would be held each night. A signboard out front told them that practice dancing sessions would be held at nine and eleven each morning for those with basic skills, and at ten for those with more advanced skills.
“Let’s go to one of the basic classes and mak
e sure our dancing is good enough,” he said.
Merek turned his chocolate eyes back to him and nodded so hard his shaggy brown hair flopped over his eyes. “Absolutely. If it’s too easy we’ll try the advanced class the next day.”
“I can’t imagine me needing an advanced class. Right now I’m hoping the western night is all line dancing so I don’t cripple my partner by attempting anything more complicated than the Texas Two Step.”
“I hear you, my friend. We’ll be here at nine tomorrow for sure.”
* * * *
Merek was a Dom. It was an integral part of who and what he was. Even though he knew many werewolves were Doms, it was still a huge cause for concern for him here at the mating party. Most of the women here wouldn’t be wolves. Some of them might be part shape-shifter, some of them might be completely or partly another species. But most would be human.
And really, it didn’t matter what they were. They might not know anything about BDSM. Even worse, they might be frightened of the idea of handing over control of their bodies to anyone, because of the risk of the man being an abusive asshole instead of a true Dom. Merek couldn’t deny there were any number of idiots who weren’t genuine Doms but who were simply using the title to take advantage of willing—or not so willing—subs. But with him, the urge to care and protect other people was supreme. All his life he’d been the one who planned and organized and aimed to make life more comfortable for others. He watched people carefully, learning all their likes and dislikes, so he could offer them events that pleased them totally.
