Chasing the Dragon

“I need you,” I exhaled, trying to catch my breath. My tongue darted past my lips, moistening them.

“You’re supposed to be meeting Jenna and Brayden in less than a half-hour, if I’m not mistaken.”

“They can wait.” Pulling at his t-shirt, I ripped it over his head. “I can’t.” I yanked at his belt, but his hand grabbed mine before I could go any further.

“Please,” I begged, my voice soft.

  “What do you want?”

“I want whatever you want to give me. I don’t want to think about what I want.”

He released his hold on my hand and I unbuckled his belt.

“I just want to feel. I want to feel you.” I unzipped his jeans and forced them down his legs. The bulge in his underwear was unmistakable, almost crying to be set free. I dropped to my knees and lowered his briefs, releasing his erection. His hand gripped my head with a feral intensity and I brought my mouth to him, keeping my eyes trained on his.

“Damn, Mackenzie,” he hissed, pushing into me, keeping a death grip on my head so I couldn’t escape him even if I wanted to. But I didn’t. I was a puppet and he was pulling all the right strings to get me to do whatever he wanted.

All too soon, he released his hold on my head and stepped back, leaving me on my knees, wanting him, needing him. Emptiness washed over me as I stared at him exposed in my living room, a look of unease on his face.

“Get up,” he ordered, his chest heaving, and I furrowed my brows. He raised his briefs and jeans, securing them back around his waist, making my insecurities return.

“Why? I thought…” I looked down, not knowing how much longer I could ride the roller coaster of his emotions. One minute he was hot, then he was cold. All I could think was that he wasn’t over his past, not like I wanted him to be.

His stern expression melted into one of absolute idolization and my heart warmed from the affection I saw. He walked back to me as I remained kneeling. His hand cupped my cheek and I closed my eyes, my skin fusing into his.

“I don’t ever want to see you on your knees again, Mackenzie. I don’t deserve that. I’m the one who should be kneeling before you.”

“Me?” I asked as he leaned down and swooped me into his arms. “Why do you say that?”

“Because it’s true. I told you last night. I don’t deserve you. I’m just going to ruin you.”

“Is that what you’re scared of?” I asked, wrapping my arms around his neck as he carried me down the hallway. He placed me on my bed and hovered over me, the connection of our eyes deep and invigorating. “Of ruining me? That’s a risk I have to take, that I want to take. I could have avoided you, could have told you to leave me alone, but I didn’t. I knew, deep inside, that you’re a collision worth crashing into, even if it ruins me. So please, Tyler…,” I murmured in a seductive voice, pulling him toward me and nibbling on his earlobe. “Ruin me. I want to know how rough you can be. I got a little taste of it last night and I want more.”

I dragged my tongue against his neck, savoring the taste of his skin. It was a combination of sweat, desire, and ocean breeze.

  “Why?”

“Sometimes, Tyler, I need it. Sometimes I don’t want to make love. Sometimes I just want to fuck.”

“What did we do last night?” he asked, his interest piqued.

Staring into his intense eyes, I said, “We made love.”

Groaning, he kissed me, his tongue invading my mouth. “And this morning?”

“The same. It was fucking incredible,” I admitted, running my hands up and down his sculpted back, digging my nails into him. “But I want you to show me the other side of Tyler. The Tyler who’s not trying to win my heart. The Tyler who takes what he wants. I want the dominant man who doesn’t take no for an answer. And I want him to fuck me until I can barely stand, like he promised me he would.”

“Fuck,” he hissed, leaning back. He raised the bottom of my dress and hoisted it over my head, throwing it on the ground. His fingers hooked the waistline of my panties and I lifted my hips. He slid the silky material down my legs and I lay before him completely bare and exposed.

He stood up and stared down at me with an untamed and ravenous gaze. “Close your eyes.”

As if I had no control over my own body, I obeyed his demand, my heartbeat seeming to echo in the bedroom. My skin tingled as I listened to the sound of Tyler’s footsteps, followed by drawers opening and closing. I had absolutely no idea what I had gotten myself into, but I had a feeling it would be something I would never forget.

The bed dipped and I instinctively opened my eyes. He gave me a stern look.

“Mackenzie,” he admonished. “What did I say? Close…” He leaned down and kissed one eyelid. “Your…” A kiss on the other eyelid. “Eyes.” A light material brushed against my face and he secured something over my eyes, shrouding my world in darkness. My sense of sound and touch were heightened, every breath amplified as I lay completely still in nervous anticipation.

“Why?” he asked, his voice smooth and unwavering.

  “Why what?”

“Why do you want this?” He lightly bit down on my nipple, the pain shockingly pleasurable.

“Because I’m ready to let go,” I admitted, surprised at my frankness.

“Why me?” he asked, his hand roaming my body, circling my stomach, tracing that same strange pattern once more.

“Because I trust you,” I blurted out. “I need you to help me let go or I never will.”

“I’ll give you what you want, Mackenzie,” he soothed. “But I don’t want you to think I’m forcing you to do anything. Do you understand?”

  I nodded.

“I need to hear the words. If it becomes too much or too intense, I’ll stop.” His hand travelled down my stomach and settled between my legs, prying them apart.

“What are you going to do?” I asked. “You’re not going to hurt−”

“No,” he interrupted, his finger circling my clit in a soft way. I sighed, losing myself in the sensation. “I could never… But I am going to need you to keep an open mind. Can you do that?”

  “Yes.”

“Good. Because, I guarantee you, this experience will be one you won’t soon forget. I know I won’t. I’ve been thinking about doing this with you for quite a while now.”

  “What?”

“You’ll see.” I could hear the smile in his voice. His fingers continued to torture me, please me, love me. A warmth breathed on my nipple and I squirmed, urging him with my motions to cease with his relentless torture and give me what I wanted…what I needed. “You’re ready for me, aren’t you?”

“Yes,” I exhaled, biting my lower lip, struggling to remain motionless. All too soon, his hands were no longer on me. His warmth was no longer close to me. I felt empty, the void tearing me apart.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“Quiet, Mackenzie,” he scolded. “You said yourself that you want to turn off and not think, so that’s what I’m going to give you. You’ll find out what I’m doing when the time comes.”

I sensed his body hovering over mine and I was relieved he was close to me again.

“I want to ask you something, Mackenzie,” Tyler murmured against my mouth, “and I want you to be honest.”

  “Okay.”

“Before last night, when was your last orgasm?”

A sly grin crossed my face. “Why is that relevant?”

  “Humor me.”

  “Thursday,” I whimpered.

  “When on Thursday?”

“After you left me, but before I went to work.”

  “I thought so.”

  “Why do you say that?”

“I’m a fairly observant person, Mackenzie. You should know that about me by now. There was a discarded pack of batteries on the top of your garbage. The same type of batteries this appears to take.” Instantly, I heard a low hum echo in the room. “So am I right? Did you make yourself come on Thursday using this?”

  Running
my fingers through his hair, I cupped his face, trying to bring his lips to mine, but he resisted.

“Yes,” I admitted. “And I pretended it was you.”

Growling, he crushed his mouth to mine, his teeth biting my lip.

“Let’s get one thing clear, Mackenzie,” Tyler said, his breathing somewhat labored. “You’re mine now. I will give you every orgasm you need…not your hands, not your fingers, and not some battery-operated machine. Am I understood?”

  I nodded, unable to speak.

Abruptly, he stood. The room was silent apart from the buzzing that continued to reverberate.

“I want you to raise your arms over your head and hold onto the headboard. Can you do that?”

“Yes.” I followed his instruction, my fingers wrapping around the wood of the slated headboard.

“Good. No matter what you do, don’t let go. Understand?”

“Yes,” I whimpered, my throat becoming dry from the nervous energy flowing through me.

  “Spread your legs wide.”

Without hesitation, I followed his demand, not even concerned with his agenda. I felt bare and on display, but it didn’t bother me. I felt completely free as I simply listened to and obeyed Tyler’s commands. There was something so liberating about it. I should have felt so exposed as I lay sprawled out in front of him, but I didn’t. I felt safe and protected, completely sheltered from any danger that could find me.

A finger grazed my inner thighs and I startled from the contact. “You’re so wet, aren’t you?”

Biting my lip, I arched my back, hoping to guide his fingers to the part of my body that I was desperate for him to touch.

“Is it for me, though, or this?” The low hum grew closer and, before I could react, I felt him push into me with the vibrator. I stilled, remembering his admonition that only he was allowed to make me come, but dammit if it didn’t feel good. Tension building between my legs, I needed to find my release, to chase that feeling of complete euphoria. Slowly, I began moving with the motion he set, my mind becoming blank as I became lost in the moment. It didn’t matter how many times I had used that to get off in the past. The idea that Tyler was using it on me drove me wild.

“Do you like this better than my cock, Mackenzie?” he asked.

“No,” I answered, struggling to make sense of what was going on.

“Doesn’t look that way to me. You appear to be quite turned on by this little device. Why risk something with me when this seems to be rather pleasurable, as well?”

“Because…,” I began, attempting to gather my thoughts.

“Because why? Don’t hold back on me now.” He began thrusting the vibrator into me with more intensity.

I moaned in response, my skin tingling.

“I want your answer, Mackenzie. Your brain’s a complete blur right now. You wanted to stop thinking, so stop thinking about some bullshit answer. Give me the truth. Why me?”

“Because…,” I repeated, my breathing growing more and more labored as I felt that familiar sensation begin to form in the pit of my stomach.

“Because why?” Tyler shouted, his motions growing frenzied. “Tell me!”

“Because I want the connection, Tyler. I want to feel and you make me feel, goddammit!”

Instantly, he removed the vibrator and, before I could protest, he was thrusting into me, the sensation of his erection more fulfilling than I imagined. I moved against him, my body tightening. He leaned down and took my nipple between his teeth, biting hard, the pain shooting through my body, setting me off.

I screamed out, an unintelligible series of sounds coming out of my mouth as I attempted to ride the waves of one of the most intense and mind-blowing orgasms I had ever experienced. Just when I thought I would finally come down, another round of tremors flowed through me.

“Let go of the headboard, Mackenzie,” Tyler grunted. I obeyed, feeling two strong hands on my hips as he pulled out of me. Flipping me over, he propped me up on my hands and knees, slamming into me from behind. I screamed again, the sensation even deeper from that angle.

“I do love a screamer,” Tyler commented, pressing his hand against my head and forcing my face into the pillow. He grasped onto my hips, his movements growing more intense and frenzied. Lowering one hand to my ass, he smacked it, causing me to yelp loudly.

“I’m going to come,” he whimpered, moving more deliberately, his breathing ragged.

  “Okay.”

He thrust a few more times before stilling his motions, jerking slightly as he hissed out a low breath. “Holy hell,” he finally murmured, flexing into me.

“You can’t honestly still be hard after that,” I commented when he continued to fuck me softly, gently.

“Why do you think that?” He leaned down and his chest hair grazed my back, sending a chill through me. His fingers skimmed my stomach as he continued pushing in and out of me, over and over again.

“My mind is a complete vacuum right now. I’m not even sure I could recite the alphabet if you asked me to.”

It was silent for a moment before Tyler let out a low chuckle and pulled out of me. “To be continued later then, mi cariño.” He wrapped his arm around my waist and helped to lower me onto my side. Bringing my body against his, his front to my back, he removed the silk blindfold, brushing my hair from my back. He planted delicate kisses across my shoulder blades, his fingers trailing up and down my spine once more.

“Thank you for that,” he said.

“For what? Letting you fuck me?”

“No, Mackenzie. For letting me in. I know it’s not easy for you, but I really want the emotional connection with you. I want you to trust me. I want you to share things with me about your past and your future. And I want to do the same with you.”

I let out a satisfied sigh, reveling in the warmth of Tyler’s embrace. “Truth or dare?”

  “Truth,” he said.

  “Do you miss your dad?”

“My dad?” he asked and I could hear the confusion in his voice.

  “Yeah. I’m just wondering.”

“I guess. I didn’t really know him that well,” he admitted. “He started the company before I was born and wasn’t around too much when I was growing up. He worked a lot.”

“How old were you when he died?”

  “Fifteen.”

I simply nodded in response. “Your turn.”

  “Truth or dare, Mackenzie.”

  “Truth.”

“Do you miss your father?” His voice was guarded, almost hesitant to ask me about my family.

“I do,” I said. “But it’s been easier since my mother died.”

He rolled me onto my back, searching my eyes. “Why since then?”

I paused, ready to give Tyler the same line I had told everyone… I knew my mother was now with my dad, both of them watching over me from up above. I had been forced to keep everything to myself for years, the constant fear of anyone knowing always in the back of my mind…and my father’s.

But I wanted Tyler to know all the little pieces I was made of. By telling him, I could finally share myself with another human, something I had wanted to be able to do for ages but was unable to for fear I would slip and the truth would be revealed.

“Mackenzie? Why?” Tyler’s masculine but comforting voice broke into my thoughts.

Smiling, I said, “Because that was the day I found out he’s still alive.”

  Tyler

“WHAT?” I ASKED, ALMOST unsure I had heard her correctly. I had my doubts about whether I would ever get her to disclose her father’s location, let alone the fact he was still alive. Now that it was out there, I didn’t know what to think. “I don’t understand. You said he died.”

She shrugged. “That’s what I thought, too.”

“Until…,” I pressed, despite my brain telling me to drop it.

“Until he walked into my mother’s house the day of her funeral.”

I fell back onto the pillows and stared at t
he ceiling. Mackenzie draped her leg over my waist and nuzzled into me, resting her head on my bare chest. I tenderly trailed my fingers down the flesh of her shoulder and arm, my mind spinning.

“Why were you told he died?” I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

“I wish I knew,” she said wistfully. “It’s strange. I know he’s alive, but I feel like I barely know him. He wasn’t around much when I was growing up, much like your dad. But when he was home…” A brilliant grin crossed her face. “We had the perfect family. He loved my mother so much. They were one of those couples everyone else probably hated. They were always so affectionate towards each other, holding hands, kissing, saying how much they loved the other. And I was the lucky beneficiary of that love. The way they doted on me, the way my father spoiled me and looked upon me as if I was a princess, well… I miss that the most. He always had a way of making me feel special.”

  “And now?”

A look of unease covered her face. “And now… I don’t know. He’s alive, but I can’t see him. He stays hidden.”

  “Why?”

“I honestly have no idea, but I know the reason is the cause of the change in him.” She glanced at me, almost as if waiting for me to prod her for more information. Instead, I simply remained quiet, encouraging her with my silence to continue her story of her own accord.

“You see, we had to leave North Carolina when I was little. My dad was stationed at Fort Bragg and we lived in Fayetteville. The entire neighborhood was pretty much comprised of army families. When I was ten, my dad changed. He almost became manic. He was consumed with his work. One day, he came home and packed his bags, telling us he was leaving on an assignment. He was acting so strange, almost as if he had a feeling it may be the last time he would ever see us.”

“There’s nothing peculiar about that,” I interjected. “When you’re on active duty and are being sent on deployment, especially when you know you’re going into hostile territory, you honestly don’t know if you’ll make it home.”

Mackenzie considered my words before craning her neck and staring into my eyes. “Do you have a prized possession, something you would never want to get rid of, no matter what?”
