The Deer
The deer stood in the
woods eating clover unaware
it was seen by man.

Smart Tiger
The tiger knelt low as the poachers came in
He instinctively knew they were after his hide
He couldn’t let that happen for he was the head of his pride
He simply would not let the poachers win
He would line to see his kin
The poachers could search the country wide
His paws would not be tied
The tiger simply would not be found
Even though he was there all along
He would give them the run around
He would prove the poachers wrong
Then he would slip away unseen
For this tiger was very keen!

Barbecues in the summertime
Summertime means barbecues
The price of steak is a crime
Many find other things to use
In the summertime.
Some chefs aren’t worth a dime
In this case the guests all lose
Most chefs make the dinner bell chime.
Go to the barbecues you choose
Drink tequila and lime
Your barbecue will be big news
In the summertime.

There was an old boy from Heart
Who at the table ate more than his part
One day he took sick
His mom said this should do the trick
She gave something to help him fart.

Don’t tell Bones
Star Trek officer Mr. Spock
Simply could not find his sock
Which had just been overlooked
But don’t tell Bones or Spock’s goose is cooked!
The Soldiers Who Protect Us
The soldier went to the point as he was commanded to do.
He knew this was the most dangerous position in the line.
He would have to keep a sharp eye for anything new.
The most dangerous enemy he faced was the mine.
Snipers were always a constant danger.
Even now he could be in the cross hairs
The sergeant knew that to this he wasn’t a stranger.
He was accustomed to these affairs.
He was a soldier serving his country.
He was a man to be thanked.
He put his life on the line to keep us free.
He took orders from those he under ranked.
A soldier’s life is not an easy one.
Some pf them don’t make it back
Some of our soldiers will fight forever.
Their flag is white and black.
Let us all make it a habit when we go to bed at night,
To thank God for the soldiers keeping us safe from harm.
We can sleep in peace at night.
We need have no alarm.

Angels in Heaven
Before God’s throne
Come down among men
Doing God’s will
Eternity Rules
Forever more
God is in control
How we have to believe that!
I have seen inexplicable events take place
Just yesterday Moore Oklahoma was hit for example.
King Jesus is still the King however
Lord knows Jesus didn’t resign
Mighty is His worthy
Name
Oppressed by Satan though we may be
Possessed by Satan we will not be
Quietly within us resides the Holy Spirit
Rest we have in Him
Safety we have in Him as well
Troubles may surround us on the sea of life
Under the power of God we can overcome
With God’s help we do overcome
X-ray vision God has of our lives
You cannot hide anything or any sin from him
Zealous is God in His love for us.

Father – in –law?
Rocking gently we set sail for yonder isle,
We just want to escape the watching eyes of your younger sister.
She is a blabber mouth.
We don’t want your father to know about me
He doesn’t like me at all.
He has the wrong impression of me but what can you do.
You have explained it to him and he won’t listen.
He’ll listen today because today you’ll say “I do.”

Lord Save Us from Ourselves
Lord save us from ourselves
We have books upon our shelves
Only one that speaks of you
Let us learn it through and through.
Lord we have lost our way
The world grows more wicked day by day
Let us in you abide
May we stay by your side.
Lord time for us is real
Please hear our appeal
Lord please make us whole
Let us let you fulfill your role.
Lord we need you now
In your presence we humbly bow;
In the darkness Lord we grope;
You are our only hope

The Snow is Falling
Outside the snow is falling
The children are sleighing
Sometimes they start snowballing
Outside the snow is falling
“Dinner is served”, their Mom is calling
The children don’t hear what she’s saying
Outside the snow is falling
The children are sleighing!

Stand out
I have loved you from before we met
You have always been my wife
Woman I would die for you
In a second I would give my life.
Let nobody ever fool you
Let nobody ever lie
If I ever lost you woman
I know my world would cry.
I am so much in love with you.
I want to make you proud.
I want to give you everything.
I want you to stand out among the crowd.

Gettysburg
The battle began like any other
Both sides sure they would win
It would cost the lives of thousands of men
It was a battle of bother against brother
They would constantly test one another
It was a battle to end a country’s sin
Many would be freed from the slave’s den
They would fight for wife and mother
This was the great battle of Gettysburg
It was the turning point of the U. S. Civil War
It was a massacre like Fredericksburg
Only this time the North won for sure
This battle helped set men free
Without it where would we be?

A Brighter Future
If God is for you
Your enemies cannot stand
If God is for you
He’ll do what He has planned.
There are no mistakes with God
Everything comes to pass
He knows exactly what we need
Whether a little or in mass.
Do believe in God my friend
Put your faith in His Son
He gave His life for you
It was on the cross when He said “It is done.”
We have only two choices for eternity
No matter what else people may “think”
If they die without receiving Christ
Into the pits of Hell they will sink!
No Christian wants to see that happen
So I will continue to write
Maybe I can reach a few
It will make their future bright!

The Poet
A poet is dreamer
Sculpting dreams out of mere words
A poet is a cowboy
Rounding up the biggest herds.
A poet is an artist
Painting pictures for all to see
A poet is a bird
His spirit is always free.
A poet is a lover of life
He lives it fun and full
A poet is trucker
He has a load to pull.
Poets are a lot of things
They come from all walks of life
One may be your husband
One may be your wife.
One thing is for certain
All write words of beauty
We do it because want to do it
We feel it is our duty.

Parkersburg
Parkersburg is the second biggest city in West Virginia.
A city like this can easily become one’s home.
Right off the bat I knew that I would love it here.
Keep your family and business here was the message I got.
Everything is great in this small city.
