Thren glanced beneath the layers to reveal her naked body. His knowing chuckle made her skin prickle with excitement.
“Not yet.” She clamped the covers down around her body, tucking them beneath her arms and refusing him from gaining another glance.
He disrobed and slipped beneath the covers, maintaining the distance between their bodies that her posture required.
“Come here.” He commanded.
She shook her head, “Not until you tell me everything.”
“Your professor will never be bothering another planet or species again.” His fingers toyed the edges of her hair, as if the need to touch her was so strong that he would settle for whatever was within reach. “And, to avenge the misery that he caused you, my love, he will never again take advantage of another human being for his own gains.”
Beth felt suddenly saddened. Somehow the fact that Professor Margwall was dead did not make her feel happy. Despite everything that he had done, she was having a difficult time justifying the murder of a man, even if he had done great evils.
“How did he die?” she attempted to keep the sadness from her voice.
“He is not dead.” Thren sounded shocked. “It would not have taken us so long to formulate a plan for his murder. It took us so long to ensure that we destroyed his reputation, and research, while ensuring that he would never have the opportunity to rebuild the program that he had once created.”
Beth’s jaw dropped and she flung herself into Thren’s arms, not caring that their naked bodies pressed against each other. Or that she had specifically told him to keep his distance.
Every new discovery about this civilization was more amazing than the next.
“How did you go about accomplishing that?” Now that he was near, she could not keep her hands from roaming across his expansive chest.
“Our first act was to destroy his facility. Complete destruction.” Thren pulled her wandering hands out from where they had disappeared beneath the blankets. “You are distracting me.” He chided.
Her giggle was met with a tickle under her rib cage, a feature that he had learned to take advantage of whenever possible. The Asreen were universally not ticklish.
“We destroyed his facility. Every inch of it.” He informed her.
Beth imagined the city-sized complex covered in a haze of smoke. Margwall’s lifetime worth of work, eliminated. There was something pleasing about the knowledge that whatever other misdeeds he had been involved in were simultaneously halted.
“The next thing that we did,” he continued, “was to contact every single space research facility on your planet and inform him of our findings, as well as his treatment of you. He will never again be supported by the scientific community. Margwall’s career is finished and there is no chance of him recovering the pieces.”
“That’s amazing.” She mused. She could not deny that she was impressed with the expert execution of their plan. It seemed that they had left no stone unturned.
“Of course, after contacting the other research programs, they each expressed interest in a continued relationship with our planet. Obviously we are not keen to partake in another exchange of information with the mischievous beings from your planet. Not,” he kissed her nose, “that I would include you in that category.”
“Oh, I can be fairly mischievous.” Beth’s toes were now grazing his calf, her unruly limbs finding every opportunity to come into contact with his body.
Again, he set her away from him with feigned frustration.
“Of that, I am completely aware.” His smile belied the growl that covered the words. He was struggling to complete his story without giving in to her tantalizing presence. Her certainty of this fact encouraged a renewed effort to ensnare him.
His laughter was contagious.
“You better behave or I will have to ship you back to that planet of yours.”
“You wouldn’t dare!” she gasped. “Anyway, you couldn’t if you wanted to. The grey ones asked if they could take the pod for research and I told them that they could destroy it for all I cared.”
Thren hummed with pleasure. “I’m glad to be rid of that thing.”
Beth smiled up at him. “So, what did you tell the scientists?” She wondered.
“That neither we, nor any other generation of our species, will be participating in any contact with the Earthlings, outside of emergency communications. It is of our opinion that at the time that the humans have matured to a respectable level, we will be the ones to make the determination as to whether or not we intend to initiate contact.”
“I think that is very wise.” Beth pressed a kiss to his mouth.
“So did the council and, as my first decree as commander, it will take effect immediately.” His hands were gently kneading her breasts, meaning that it took her longer than usual to process his statement.
“As commander!” she exclaimed.
“Yes.” Thren’s smile of pride was captivating. “My father has determined that I am sufficiently capable of leading our people, especially now that I have a mate of my own.”
Beth stared at her lover in awe. He had just effectively been made ruler of his entire planet. That would make her, she realized, akin to a queen.
“Your first decree!” she clapped her hands in pride. “And what do you intend to do next, Commander?”
Her adoring, and teasing, tone brought a light of humor to his eyes.
“Well…” His mouth made a trail from her shoulder down to her breasts and stomach, “I think my first task should be ensuring the continuation of my bloodline.”
“Oh really?” she challenged. “Are you even certain that is possible?”
“Absolutely.” His head dipped below the blankets and came to rest over the sensitive mound between her legs. “That was one of the first tests that I performed on your blood sample.”
Beth squealed with shock at his self-assurance all that time ago. Her shock turned to gasps of pleasure as his mouth began to move against her. The heat of his breath felt cool against the even higher temperature at the center of her body.
Her fingers curled into his hair as she lifted herself up against him. Thren’s hands massaged her thighs as his tongue worked in a circular motion that had her crying his name almost immediately.
Once again, she was shocked that this species had no experience with this type of encounter. Though, she had to admit, Thren was most certainly a quick study.
“Please.” She begged. Unable to formulate more than that single word.
She pulled against his shoulders drawing him forth from the blankets to rest above her.
“Then you agree to my second decree?” he rubbed the silken tip of his erection against her but refused to enter. Beth groaned in agony at her unfulfilled desires.
“Yes. Yes. I agree.” She gasped. At this point she would agree to just about anything to get what her body so badly wanted.
As he slid inside of her, Beth’s mind focused on their conversation. For an instant, before her body gave back in to the instincts that were currently her driving force, she imagined their child.
Wondering what combination of traits their children would have, Beth participated in the exchange with renewed vigor.
For the first time in her life, she imagined what it would be like to have her own family. Never would she have expected to find the man of her dreams on a strange and isolated planet, but something about raising a family in this serene environment gave her hope that her offspring would never have to experience the same terrible realizations that she had become accustomed to on Earth.
