Being a part of Caitlin was heaven on earth, and now that he realized that, Keiffer would fight to remain there. Including therapy. She even went to that with him. Not a shared session, but a shared doctor.

She laughed as Louie chased his shadow across the room. “So, you going to answer or make me guess what you were thinking?” She stopped in front of him as he waited for her by the kitchen island.

He permanently moved into the cabin his sister had renovated for him, and presented Caitlin with the three kittens on the day she moved in with him. That was four months ago. Best damn months of his life.

  So far.

“I was thinking of you, of course.” He set his hands on her hips and kissed her nose. “Thinking back to that day you stepped off the plane in the Poconos for Brandi’s wedding.”

A pretty blush filled her cheeks. “Best weekend of my life.”

He drew back in mock disdain. “Hey? What about last weekend? Or the weekend before that? Or the w—”

“Okay, I get it. You’re right. They’re all good.” She ran her hands up his chest and into his hair in a move he always felt to his toes.

Never able to resist, he bent down and kissed her sweet lips over and over until the slow burn turned to a roaring fire. A knock at the door had them breaking apart.

“Shoot,” she muttered. The barbecue. I forgot.”

He grinned as she tried to smooth his hair where her fingers just played while they headed for the door. “Hey, Tyler.”

“There you are, Uncle Keiffer. I thought you two weren’t ever going to come out.”

He returned Caitlin’s grin over his nephew’s head. “Sorry, Ty, we were getting ready. Have you seen your new cousin?”

His whole family had flown down for the annual Dalton Spring barbeque and to meet the newest addition to the Dalton Wyne family, Kyle Dennis Dalton, born last week. They all arrived three days ago. The ranch was hoping and full of life, and Keiffer couldn’t imagine it any other way.

“Yeah.” Tyler grinned up at him. “Cody’s glad he’s not so outnumbered down here. I can’t wait to come down next month so I can stay longer.”

He set a hand on his nephews shoulder. “Me, too.”

It was damn good to see his family again. And to meet his new niece, Melody Wyne. Keiffer glanced out over the party guests and wasn’t surprised to see his brother, Ben still proudly walking around with his tiny little daughter in his hands. She was born two weeks ago, according to Mason, Ben hardly puts her down.

Tyler raced ahead to join Cody and Amelia kicking a ball around, and he felt a little sad his nephew hadn’t had a cousin until now.

“Oh, looks like Shayla’s bringing out the desserts. I’m going to go help.” Caitlin kissed his cheek then set off across the yard to disappear into the house with her sister.

His two other brothers, Mason and Ethan, approached with big grins on their faces. Keiffer hid a smirk. They were big losers when they played poker. “Looks like we’ve got a turncoat, Ethan.”

The oldest Wyne shook his head sighed. “Yeah, tossed aside for the south.”

“The south has something the north doesn’t,” he exclaimed.

Mason raised a brow. “Oh? What?”

  “Caitlin.”

  “Amen.”

  Ethan nodded. “Totally understandable.”

“It’s nice to know you’re happy here.”

“I am.” He was still a work in progress, but for the most part, he was happy. And growing happier by the second as Caitlin approached devouring a brownie.

“Mason, your wife is my new addiction.” She held up the brownie. “I’ve never tasted anything so amazing. It melts in your mouth.”

“Thank you.” Mason grinned broadly. “Speaking of which, where is my wife?”

“She’s inside with all the women begging her for recipes.” Caitlin smiled, slipping an arm around him.

“I’d better go rescue her.” Mason nodded and headed for the house.

“And I’d better go rescue more brownies before they’re all gone.” Ethan rushed after him.

Keiffer turned to slide both hands down to Caitlin’s waist. “Now that I have you alone for a minute. What’s this about a brownie being the most amazing thing you’ve had that melt in your mouth?”

She laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck. “I think I need more samples. Can you help me with that later?”

“Damn straight,” he said, then pulled her in for a kiss, uncaring they were in full view of their families and friends. He had the woman he loved in his arms and wasn’t letting her go. Ever.
