To this day, my stomach still feels jittery every time he walks over to me. Especially every time I know I’m going to get to hold him in my arms. Or kiss him. Or just simply be with him.

Gavin holds out his hand and says, "I need you to do me a favor. I need you to pinch my skin. Like, hard. "

I shoot him a puzzled look. ”I’m supposed to pinch my fiancé at our own engagement party?" I say.

He nods. "I don't know how else to tell whether or not I'm dreaming right now."

I pull his body into mine and wrap my arms around him. I kiss him softly, slowly, and really, really sweetly. “Did that feel real enough for you?” I ask him.

His gaze burns steady as he reaches for my hands. “Do you remember last year when I asked you if you loved me?” he says.

“I’ll never forget it. One of the most important days in my life," I say.

His cheeks flush red. He still wears that shy, innocent look better than anyone I know.

”I remember even at the time, I never actually doubted how you felt about me when I asked you that question. I just knew that you loved me. And not for a second have I ever questioned my own love for you from that point on.”

My eyes start to well up, and the moment my lover smiles at me, I burst into tears. Gavin holds me tightly as the two of us cry in each other’s arms, setting off a warm chorus of ooh’s and ah’s from our guests.

I pull away and gesture to our company. “This is our family now, this is our life. Let’s make it the best life that ever lived,” I say.

Gavin looks around at all the people on our cruise ship. Then he looks more deeply into my eyes then he’s yet to look at me… ”It already is, Cole.”

I lean in close and whisper in his ear, “I know, my love. I know.”
