“Case.” Thorn’s warm breath gracing my ear and despite the exhaustion, my body sprang to life. His lips danced along my neck, and I tilted my head to give him better access. Thorn wasting no time in taking advantage, tasting every inch of my exposed skin.

Only one night had tuned me into his touch. I was officially addicted. Needing a fix, taste, something to cure the throbbing between my legs.

Turning, my hands reached for my pants and I let them drop to the floor. Everything else following until I was naked before Thorn. The sight of my naked body causing his features to darken. Thorn didn’t hide what I did to him, embracing it with everything he was. My fingers reached for his zipper, tugging it down until I had access to what I wanted. My fingers sliding in to find his cock. Wrapping my hand around his hard length, I squeezed gently causing him to moan. The way Thorn moaned had my pussy dripping. I didn’t know a simple sound could make me so wet.

“Sit,” I commanded, his ass hit the bed without hesitation. I couldn’t wait. Freeing his cock all the way, my fingers spreading my pussy open wide so I could sink, swallowing the tip of his cock before stopping.

“I think you are trying to kill me again.” Thorn groaned.

“I haven’t even started.” I mused as I sank even further, loving the sight of Thorn’s cock disappearing inside my pussy. His cock, stretching me to take all of him, until my ass hit his thighs.

With his cock completely buried in my pussy, I let out a moan. Finding his eyes before I started riding his cock, his teeth denting into his lip as he looked down to watch my pussy taking all of him.

Thorn hadn’t been bragging when it came to his skills in the bedroom. Thorn and his cock were sure things.

“I’m so glad Val didn’t put your dick on a platter. I would miss it.” My hips rising again the length of his cock hitting just the right spot.

“It would have been a fucking tragedy.” Tossing my head back I moaned. The both foreign and wicked, I loved every syllable.

So, did Thorn. His hips thrust, following my rhythm without thought. The time for tenderness was later, right now I just wanted to fuck him. I wanted to cum fast, the high setting me free allowing me to fly.

  *

I had created a monster. A sexy, fucking perfect monster. Watching Case ride me, I couldn’t believe this beautiful creature wanted me. She looked like a goddess, powerful and radiant seeking me like her next breath. She was in control, riding me with such force, I knew my dick would be sore. I didn’t fucking care. I loved her wild and unrestrained. Her lips pressing into mine as I felt her pussy tighten around me. Her hands are tugging my face to hers kissing me hard as she came. Her eyes are popping open to seek mine, slowing her thrusts her eyes refusing to look away from mine. My cock ached, but not as bad as my heart. I wasn’t just some dick to her. I was her dick, owning me with each rock of her hips. What had started out as a fast and furious fuck had turned into her making love to me.

“It’s you, Thorn. It’s you.” She was falling, and I couldn’t catch her. This would have no happy ending. I would gladly die loving her, my heart ceasing its beat with her name tattooed upon it. I couldn’t handle Case her loving me in return. I would only break her heart, ripping the only thing that mattered to me into fucking pieces.

Sweetly, Case pressed her lips against mine, the kiss sending me over the edge. I came losing the fight needing her love like a dying man needed salvation. Breaking the kiss, I rested my forehead on hers. Her cheeks glowing with the beautiful shade of pink she wore so well as her breathing started to return to normal. Her eyelids fluttering open to reveal clear blue eyes, no longer clouded by desire they gleamed with satisfaction.

  “Hi.” She whispered

“Hi,” I whispered back wondering what she did to me. Case hadn’t just fucked me senseless she made love to me allowing me to see her, every moment of her fall. Love. It was the only thing strong enough to make me believe I could save us from the monsters waiting to tear us apart.

The only good reason to be a mother fucking hero.

  SELENA

My eyes cracked open, a moment of panic seized me, until I felt someone holding my hand. Ever so slowly I sat up, every small bit of progress hindered by the pain rolling through me. Still, I needed to see who held my hand, knowing I shouldn’t hope I would turn and see his face. A small part of me hoping he came for me, telling me I was his no matter even if I refused him. A glimpse of blonde hair was the first thing I saw. That fragile thread of hope snapping at the sight of Miranda.

Miranda’s fingers were wrapped around mine, her head resting on the bed beside me. Seeing the dark circles under her eyes, I wondered if she had stayed with me all night. The night V got shot and all during recovery she hadn’t left his side. We would find her curled up in bed with him. Now I guessed it was my turn; I should be grateful that she hadn’t crawled in bed with me too.

Gently squeezing her hand caused her eyes to pop open as she lifted her head off the bed. Smiling, her green eyes met my hazel ones with relief.

“Selena.” Miranda’s eyes filled with tears, her other hand rushing up to wipe them away. “Sorry. I’m not usually this mushy.”

“Yes, you are.” My voice was scratched and raw. The sound sent a fresh wave of tears cascading down her cheeks.

“Fine, you got me. I am a complete sap. I am just glad you’re back where you belong.” Happiness and relief washing over her features

Guilt invaded every part of me. This was the last place I wanted to be. The connection I once had was missing, vanishing in the dark leaving me feeling nothing but lost, in the place I had called home. My body wasn’t the only thing broken, but I couldn’t tell Miranda. The truth would only hurt her.

I managed a smile. “I’m okay. I’ll be back to kicking ass before you know it.”

“You better be. This place is not the same without you.”

Miranda’s words spread the guilt like poison, swallowing it down, the taste bitter on my tongue wishing I tell her everything. Every secret. Every sin. Every single one of my hopes and dreams. Hiding in the dark my secrets ran rampant, eating me away one piece at a time. My mouth opened slightly only to slam closed. I couldn’t say anything instead I held Miranda’s hand a little tighter wishing for the courage to let someone inside the shadows haunting me.

  *

I woke up in Thorn’s arms. His body wrapped around me, his legs tangled with mine. Closing my eyes so I could feel every inch of him pressed up against me. Could this all be a dream? Nothing this good had ever happened to me. I couldn’t recall what my life before my sister had disappeared. The life that followed full of bad things that only got worse. I often wondered if it had been me. If I was the one that brought misery to my family’s doorstep, had they burned away because I had been the one that lit the match.

Thorn slept beside me as my demons banged around inside my head. Brushing an unruly piece of hair out of his eyes praying I wasn’t a match, which I wasn’t going to set his whole world on fire. With the past haunting me I reminded myself we deserved this. We deserved love and a lifetime of waking up in each other’s arms. Still, I knew life could be a fucking asshole. It could give you a dream and with no remorse take it all away. Life filling your head with lovely things only to turn them into nightmares.

“Hi, beautiful.” Thorn opened his eyes and smiled lazily. “Who needs the sun when I can wake up to this.”

He was killing me. A mercenary with the heart of a poet. Heaven help me.

“You are really good at this. I’m bet it’s because you have had a lot of practice.”

“Not with this. I have never woken up with a girl in my bed. You are the first Case.”

“I’m the first?” I blurted out my thoughts fuzzy as I tried to hide my surprise.

I wasn’t a fool. Thorn was the type of man women threw themselves at. Sexier than sin, I watched women at the club try to get his attention. Rubbing against him as they brazenly offered themselves up, in an attempt to get him to fuck them. I ha
d many fantasies about using every fake thing on their bodies for target practice. Silicone would explode quite nicely.

“Case, hey sweetheart you okay? You just zoned out there for a second.”

Coming back to reality I stammered, “What? Sorry, I am just surprised. I know you don’t have any trouble getting a woman to have play dates with you. I’ve heard some of the stories.”

Thorn blushed making him even more handsome. Throwing myself at him, I started kissing him senseless feeling of the heat of his cheeks soaking through my palms as I held his face to mine.

  *

Case could feel my blush and I couldn’t recall the last time someone had caused that to happen. The mere thought of her knowing about my bedroom habits was all it took. I wondered what she thought. I wouldn’t lie. I was a bit of a man whore. I liked woman, and they liked me back. It all changed the moment I met Case. After holding her in my arms, she had been the one thing I wanted. Her kiss only added fuel my fire-loving she no longer hesitated to touch me. She made me hers without thought; there was no one else she kissed like this. I was hers, and I was fucking addicted to her ownership over me.

I wasn’t the only one who was blushing after that kiss.

“You really should stop looking so cute.” Case shaking her head as she rose out of bed.

“Cute? Really?” No one had ever dared to call me cute. “I’ll show you cute,” I growled.

Getting to her right before she made it to the bathroom, I grabbed her spinning her around pushing her back against the wall. Dropping to my knees and I pulled her thighs apart. I was hungry for breakfast. My mouth fastened on her pussy eating her like my last meal. Her hands blindly gripping my hair, pulling locking my head between her legs. Oh fuck. I was a goner. The simple action had me licking faster. The moan falling from her lips only encouraging me to show no mercy. The scream ripped from her throat as she came on my tongue, my reward for all my hard work. Spellbound I only heard the knocking after I got in one last taste.

Case dropped her hands out of my hair. Her head resting on the wall as she came down from her high.

Fumbling for the pair of pants tossed on the floor, yanking them on, voices sounded outside the door.

“I told you they were busy. Let’s go, babe. We can talk to them later.” Miranda quipped as her voice drifted in from the hall.

Val’s voice followed, “It sounds like they are done or at least she is. Thorn can answer the door.”

Realization suddenly dawned on Case’s face. Miranda and Val had been outside the door, and they had heard everything. I couldn’t help but be pleased with myself, but Case didn’t seem so thrilled as she raced to the bathroom slamming the door closed behind her.

I walked to the bedroom door throwing it open.

“Are you guys done?” I glared my arms crossing over my chest as I leaned into the doorframe.

Val raised an eyebrow. “Are you?”

“Fuck off V. I was enjoying my breakfast, and now because of you two, my breakfast has currently locked herself in the bathroom. You know what kind of an asshole I turn into when I get hungry, so if you have something else to say I suggest you make it quick.”

Miranda slapped a hand across her mouth trying to keep back a giggle. Val didn’t seem so amused. I wondered if he had skipped breakfast too.

“Selena is asking to see you, and Emily and Sam just arrived. They don’t know about Selena yet. They won’t take it very well especially Emily. That girl loves Selena something fierce she will lose it when she learns someone hurt her.”

“So, what you are saying is a shit storm of epic proportions is headed our way,” I concluded.

“Pretty much. I already hid the key to the weapons room.”

“Maybe it would help if we gave her a detailed explanation on how Marcus’s head exploded.”

Miranda’s eyes grew wide like saucers. “You will do no such thing.”

“It was just a suggestion.” Shrugging I promised, “Val and I will think up a plan b.”

“You two better. Now, I think your breakfast would like to come out of the bathroom at some point, so we will go.”

  “But..” Val objected

Miranda poked Val in the chest, “No buts V or you won’t be fed either.”

The bathroom door remained so raising my voice I stated, “They are gone now you can come out.”

“I’m never coming out ever again.”

“It’s not that bad.” I tried the door handle. Still locked.

“Maybe not to you. I, on the other hand never want to show my face again.”

“Open the door Case.” I was starting to get antsy. A locked door between us had my fingers itching to tear it down. I didn’t know where it came from, but my mind started screaming that I had to see her.

“Open the door now, or I am going to break it down,” I stressed, my fist grabbing the door handle shaking it this time with force.

“Are you fucking insane? I can sit in here all day if I want.” Case huffed through the door.

Throwing all my weight against the door, it trembled from the hit but didn’t budge. Taking a few steps backward I rushed it hitting it as hard I could the wood cracking by the blow.

“THORN what the hell are you doing?”

“I gave you a warning. You might want to step back.” I was about to try again when the lock disengaged.

Case flung open the door, “What is wrong with you? Have you lost your fucking mind?”

It was a valid question. My head and heart seeming to be scrambled. I couldn’t think clearly, and for the first time, I had nothing to say.

The look on Case’s face said it all. A hint of fear resting behind her shock. Her eyes wide as she looked at me like she wasn’t sure who I was.

I stepped away from her. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me. The thought of you being in there without me, got to me. I over reacted.”

“I was just embarrassed. I wasn’t trying to keep you out because I didn’t want to be with you.” Case stepped out of the bathroom to walk towards me.

Was that it? Did I lose my shit because I thought she didn’t want to be with me? My insecurities had started taking over. Good things never lasted. I was always one fuck up away from ruining the things I cared about. I kept waiting for Case to see through me, to realize I was a fraud who talked big to hide what haunted me when the lights went out.

Case grasped my hand and the moment I felt her skin against mine my world righted again. I could finally breathe.

“I need a shower. Care to join me?”

  “Case I’m..”

She cut me off. “Don’t Thorn. It’s done, so stop worrying, besides you have seen me freak out a time or two. I figure you still have a couple more diva moments before we are even.”

“Diva moments? I’m far from a diva. I think the term you are looking for is a badass sex god.”

Case rolled her eyes. “Come on badass sex god. If you are going to make me show my face outside this room sometime soon, I would prefer to do it cleanly.”

I winked, “Lead the way darling.”

The day may have gone to shit for a few minutes, but it was starting to look up again. I couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest fucker on the planet.

  Chapter Nineteen

I stuck to Thorn like glue not willing to go it alone. Val saw us, and he tried hiding a grin, covering his mouth with his hand a snort slipping though before he recovered.

“Did the great Val Knight, King of Bound and Bared just snort?” Doubling over I clutched my stomach my whole body heaving. My laughter echoing through the almost empty club.

It took me a moment to get myself together. Regaining my composure, I offered, “I think this makes us even.”

Once my fit of laughter was done, my mind concluded there had been nothing wrong with what Thorn and I had doing. It’s not like I hadn’t heard Val and Miranda a time or two. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Until Thorn, I didn’t know what th
at felt like. Now I was Miss Grabby Pants. My hands, my mouth, my pussy all wanted a taste, no longer content with merely looking. Those greedy bitches always wanting more of Thorn.

Hearing Emily, Miranda’s younger sister telling Val to fuck off, flipped my switch from fun and games to oh shit.

“Emily. It’s not his fault.” Miranda pleaded her hand gripping Emily’s arm not willing to let her get any closer to Val.

“Bullshit.” She spat, “He should have been protecting her instead of home fucking you.”

Miranda’s face paled, tears simmering in her eyes. Val took notice, his face darkening. No one hurt Miranda. That man loved her beyond reason. Val was one step away from going nuclear.

Snagging Emily’s shoulder picking up on the fact the girl was on fire. Her heated skin radiated through her shirt and into my hand. Pain and rage, making a deadly combination. Emily wanted a fight purposely pushing Val to get him to explode. She was no match for him. She couldn’t win.

Emily’s face contorted into a mask of helplessness. Her shoulder slumped under my grasp, retreating inside herself trying to shut the world out. Bright eyes focusing all her energy on the one thing she could control. Her rage.

Her demons were running rampant, craving a fight instead of facing her fear that someone she loved could have been taken away from her.

“Em, you shouldn’t have said that.” Tensing under my hold waiting for her next swing using single word ever as a weapon.

Her dark blue eyes watered with unshed tears.

“Your sister and Val had nothing to do with this. You know all about monsters. They come without warning. They take away the things you love without mercy. If it weren't for Val, Miranda would be dead, and you would be with whoever was the highest bidder.”

The tension eased Emily relaxing in my hold as I finally dared to take a breath.

“Fighting Val won’t take the pain away. It won’t undo what was done. The people here in this room are a family. A great big fucked up family but family all the same. If we fall apart who will help us find our way back from the dark?”
