“Hey,” she said way to cheerfully and smiled over at me. She was actually drunk, which was rare for her. I only think I’d ever seen her drunk one other time. I wanted to tease her about it but I knew she wouldn’t like it.

“You know him?” the loud one asked her.

“I do,” she slurred. It didn’t escape my notice that she didn’t explain how.

I really hoped my sister was going to be okay because I didn’t want to have to step up and take care of her tonight. I would if I had to but I wanted to take the girl in my arms home with me. Taking care of my drunken sister was not going to help my case any, even if she was her friend.

I was hoping one of them were going to tell me the fairy’s name but they didn’t. I needed to learn her name. Not that it really mattered to me but most girls preferred if you knew their name.

Skyla just smiled at me and rolled her eyes. I hoped she was acting drunker than she was. She wasn’t one to completely let go, after all.

We kept our relationship under the radar. Very few people actually knew we shared the same father. When people question it I told them she was my sister. It made since to people. My father wasn’t around. It was very possible he had other kids. Since she keeps such a low profile most of the public don’t instantly recognize her as the daughter of a rock star.

“Nice ink,” Maggie went on, motioning to my arm. I had a full sleeve on my right that stretched over part of my chest, back and up the side of my neck, peaks out of my shirt, all black and grays with little splashes of color. There was a north star that looks cracked on my left elbow, some of Jonas earlier work, a clover on my left hand, and a classic pin up girl on the inside of my forearm, and many others but those were the visible ones.

“You too,” I said motioning to her very visible, large, decomposing skull on her upper right arm, which leaded to the explanation of her ink. She was proud of it. She clearly loved it. She was addicted. I got it. It was good work though. It looked familiar.

“Here you go,” Rod said sliding the drinks in front of us.

“Okay ready,” Skyla said and she pulled them up to either side of her at the bar, subsequently pulling me too because I wasn’t letting go of the fairy’s hips. Skyla noticed my attachment and glanced up at me to roll her eyes.

“No hands,” Maggie reminded them then looked over and winked at me. Yes, please, no hands. I looked down at my fairy. She was peaking at me from under her long lashes again. I wanted to groan. That was the sexiest look I had ever seen. I wanted to see her do it while standing in her bra and panties in my room, or better yet naked. Forget the standing part, maybe lying in my bed or straddling me.

She blushed when she got caught me looking at me. I just smiled, not embarrassed in the least by the fact that she caught me staring at her or the fact that she could probably feel my raging hard-on against her backside.

She reached behind her neck and pulled her long hair to one side to hold it out of her way allowing me a better view.

“One, two, three,” Maggie bellowed and they all leaned down to take their shots. I watched as she took the whipped cream tower into her mouth, gripping the shot glass with her pouty lips. I almost came in my pants right there. This girl was hot and doesn’t even know it. That much was obvious. Eyes closed, she tipped her head back, downed the contents, and then placed the glass back on the bar, all hands free. I think I was in love. She looked over her shoulder and smiled at me shyly, blushing just a little. I stand corrected. That was possibly the sexiest thing I had ever seen.

“Soooo, it’s our girl’s birthday,” Skyla said as she turned to face me drunkenly leaning on the counter. I wanted to laugh at Skyla. I had never seen her this far gone.

  “Twenty-first,” Maggie added.

  “Happy birthday,” I told her.

  What was her name?

“Thank you,” she said in her quiet, bashful way, blushing even more.

“You want to be her present?” Maggie teased and reached over and ran her finger down my arm.

Did I ever but I kept that to myself, at least for the moment and just chuckled.

“Maggie,” she gasped and stiffened in my hold. Skyla just laughed.

“You want to join us? My boys and I have a table over there,” I motioned with my head. Skyla and I kept to our different circles for the most part, which was why I didn’t know any of her friends. At the moment I was seriously regretting that. My sister has some hot friends.

“That would be fantastic,” Maggie said louder then necessary as she stepped up closer to me and smiled in that I know I’m hot kind of way that was so overdone. It just did nothing for me. I was not sure whether she was the worst wingman ever, trying to pull my attention to her, or possibly just a giant flirt. One minute she was trying to get me to be her friend’s present and the next she was trying to take her place. It was confusing.

I reluctantly let go of the nameless fairy’s hips and started to head towards the table. I grabbed her hand, her soft, little hand, as I pulled her though the crowd with her friends in tow. I would have preferred to get her alone but I could take the packaged deal to the table. They could entertain my boys.

“This is Guy and Landon,” I said motioning to the guys sitting around the booth. Jonas took off earlier shortly after we got here.

“Welcome ladies,” Landon said in his overly sleazy way. Skyla scooted in next to him. I wasn’t worried about it. Landon was a man whore but Skyla was no push over, plus he’d never try anything with my sister or I’d kill him.

I let the fairy climb in next so I didn’t have to be next to my sister. Having your sister, even your half-sister, around while you’re trying to pick up some random girl at a bar, that happens to be her friend, is a major turn off.

The fairy scooted in next to Skyla and I followed her. Glad she wasn’t sitting next to one of my friends so I didn’t have to compete for her attention.

Maggie went to sit by Guy.

“So what’s your name?” I asked my fairy causing her to turn towards me, instead of facing the group. I had to know. It was best I just came out and asked her at this point because the longer I let this go on without knowing, the worse I was going to look when she found out I didn’t know.

“Pru,” she said. I liked it. Short simple. It fit her.

“Is it really your birthday?” I asked reaching my arm out to put it over her shoulder and turned her more towards me. I wanted her attention, all of it. I knew more then one girl over the years that claimed that just to get free drinks.

“Really,” she said and took a sip of her girly drink. There was a drop on her lip and I wanted to taste it. I wanted to lick that drop off her lips.

“Twenty-first?” I raised an eyebrow and flashed my sexiest smile the one I knew girls loved. There was no way she was twenty-one. She looked much younger.

“Promise,” she laughed. I liked her laugh. “You want to see my ID?” she offered. Then she reached her finger into the top of her shirt. I wanted to be those fingers. I couldn’t take my eyes off them as they slipped into her top, gently brushing against her cleavage. She pulled out a little plastic ID card. She waved it at me, teasing me with her eyes daring me to grab it. I snatched it away. She gasped then laughed the sweetest, little laugh I had ever heard.

The picture was definitely her and it was definitely her birthday. If it was a fake it was a damn good one.

“Well look at that,” I said as I leaned in just inches from her face. I reached over and ran my hand down her thigh of the leg farthest from me. When I reached her knee I shifted her legs so they were stretched across mine successfully pulling her closer to me. I halfway expected her to stop me, but she didn’t.

“Prudence Kennedy Thompson,” I started to read her stats aloud. “5’2”, a hundred and four pounds,” she gasped as she reached over to snatch the card back from me but I moved it just out of her reach. Her attempt to retrieve her license caused her to scoot further into my lap like I intended. I laughed.

>   “Give me that,” she demanded when I held it just out of her reach. She scowled at me and it was damn cute.

  “Why should I?” I teased.

“Please,” she pleaded softly with the most innocent look I had ever seen with her big, bright eyes. She didn’t answer my question though.

“It seems to me that your ID would be pretty valuable. What’s it worth to you?” She lowered her eyes and glared at me like she didn’t like my game but I could see her fighting back a smile.

“What do you want?” she asked in a low husky voice as she ran her finger down the center of my chest. I swallowed the lump in my throat. I just lost control of my game. I watched her finger travel down my chest, lower over my naval, then towards the waistband of my jeans, hoping it’d go lower but she just stopped and started to retrace her path back up with an evil teasing smile.

What did I want? That was a loaded question.

“I think your fully legal ID is worth…” I hesitated for dramatic effect. “A kiss.”

She tilted her head, grabbed a handful of my shirt, and yanked herself further into my lap so that her lips were mere breath away from mine. Without an ounce of hesitation she pressed her lips against mine. I tightened my arm around her shoulder and tangled my hand in her long locks not willing to let her escape with a mere peck. I ran the other one up and down her thigh forcing myself to stop at her skirt line.

Her mouth parted instantly welcoming me and I took the invitation. She tasted like raspberries. It made me more than a little crazy. I groaned as she completely melted into our kiss and a soft sound escaped the back of her throat.

I pulled her tighter against me. I had been expecting a playful kiss on the cheek or, at most, a little peck on the lips, not this. No this, all-encompassing passion filled, forget my name kiss. I completely forgot that we weren’t alone until the hooting and hollering broke through my haze. I reluctantly let her pull back.

She looked like she was just as lost in the kiss as I was. Her cheeks were flushed and she turned her head to cover it when she went to scoot off my lap. I held her tight. She wasn’t going anywhere. I rested my forehead on hers until she turned back to look at me. Waving the others off behind her back and they slowly lost interest in us due to our lack of making out.

Our breathing was still uneven. After a few minutes of just staring at each other she asked quietly, “Can I have my ID back?” Oh yeah, the ID. Shoot, she can have mine too. I held it up in the little space between us when she reached up to take it I grabbed her hand to hold it in mine.

“Come home with me,” I said softly. I wanted more of that kiss. She nodded. That was all the confirmation I needed. I slid her off my lap and out of the booth and scooted out behind her. I tossed a twenty on the table just in case I owed a tip or something. I could close out my tab tomorrow. I was not worried about it. I was not going to give her a chance to change her mind.

“We’re gonna get out of here,” I announced to the table. The redhead started cheering, “Yaaaayyy.” I was sure my fairy was blushing again. Skyla just glared at me for a moment. She didn’t approve. Sorry, Sky, couldn’t pass this one up.

The guys all nodded and said their good byes. I wrapped my arm around Pru and started for the door wondering how I was going to make it back to my place without tasting those plump lips again.

  Chapter 3

  Prudence

It took almost no time to make it to his house. He lived only a few blocks away from the bar. Convenient. I couldn’t believe I was doing this. I was actually going home with a guy I barely knew. A super-hot, tattooed, pierced guy. Not usually my type but I was starting to think I needed to seriously reconsider my type.

I was thrilled. I was excited. I was scared. I was drunk. It was great.

He was amazing and that kiss. Wow! Maybe it was the alcohol or the fact that I hadn’t had any action in far too long. I didn’t care. I wanted this. I wanted him, damn the consequences.

As soon as we stepped out of the bar he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and started guiding me down the street, in the direction of his home I assumed. It was a cool spring night, typical for the area. The Delta Breeze had picked up but I was warm enough, especially with his arm around me.

“So, Prudence Kennedy Thompson,” I loved that he knew my middle name, despite the fact that my parents cursed me with a horrible name. “What do you do for a living?” he asked as he guided me down the street. We were both stumbling a little. I think me a little more than him.

I don’t know what I expected him to say but that wasn’t it. I’d never done this before but for some reason I didn’t imagine friendly get acquainted chatter while we stumbled down the street towards his house. Maybe some dirty talk, which I’d never done, or silence. I don’t know.

“I don’t dooo anything,” I blurted out with no verbal filter. It just poured out. My lack of actual employment bothered me, had for as long as I could remember.

“Everyone does something,” he explained as he smiled down at me. So sweet. “A girl does not walk around sporting earrings like those,” he pointed to my new diamond studs, “and do nothing.”

“Pssst.” I do. I said it like that it was the stupidest thing I’d ever heard. I contributed nothing to society, unless you count my fabulously plain looks. My mother sported this crap all the time and she didn’t do a damn thing, unless you count tennis and drinking. I didn’t. “Shows what you know,” I said as I pushed away from him moving a few steps in front of him and turning to look at him while I walked backwards. Which was rather challenging while drunk in heels. “Girls who do nothing are the ones who sport these things,” I said waving my hands toward my ears, stumbling a little as I attempted to continue walking backwards. “If I actually had a career or a job for that matter I wouldn’t waste my money on crap like this.” It was the truth. I wouldn’t. Jewelry was nice but I preferred my cheap, chunky jewelry.

I could care less who made it. A bag was a bag. The only point I saw to truly carrying a designer bag was so other people knew I could afford one.

He grabbed my arms that were flailing around and pulled me into him, smiling down at me. I went willingly. I slid my hands up his chest, piercings and all, and wrapped them around his neck to run my fingers through the back of his dark hair. He closed his eyes and leaned into my touch. We stopped walking while his hands lingered on my hips.

“So you do nothing and just walk around like this?” he asked, eyeing me up and down. It hit me. I looked like a hooker. Shit! Was that what he was implying? I was too intoxicated to try and interpret his vague questioning for possible hidden meaning.

I was afraid that this conversation was about to start making me look really bad, feel really bad. “I go to school,” I said softly. “These were birthday gifts,” I explained pointing to my ears nearly smacking him in the face in the process. Graceful, I know. He didn’t seem to mind though.

“Ahh…” he said before his lips brushed over the side of my neck right where my pulse was pounding under my skin. I sucked in a deep breath at the unexpected contact. My head fell back to give him better access as his lips softly brushed over my skin. He kissed a path up my neck leaving a trail of burning skin behind until his lips found mine. The moment his lips touched mine I released a shaky breath with a throaty moan. This man could kiss.

When we were in the bar I had planned to just gently kiss his lips, tease him, just a peck. Then I don’t know what happened, one minute I was gently pressing my lips to his, planning to pull away and the next we were making out in front of an entire bar.

He pulled his lips away and tucked me under his arm again so fast my head was spinning. “Come on,” he said as he started to lead me towards his house again. He was more dragging me than guiding me. His steps were more rushed than before. “Before I forget that we’re standing in the middle of the street or stop caring and take you right here.” Those words should have been crude but they got my blood pumping. It was nice to feel so desirable. Lincoln, ta
ll, pierced, and gorgeous, I couldn’t remember his last name, wanted me.

We finally got to his house and the moment the door shut behind us he had me pressed up against it, his lips devouring mine. His hands seemed to be everywhere, on my arms, running down my side, kneading roughly at my breast. “Holy shit,” he grunted as his lips separated from mine. He started to kiss a path down my jaw to my chin then down my neck and collarbone to the exposed cleavage at the top of my shirt.

His hands slid down, over my ass until they reached my thighs and yanked me up so that our most private places were level. He pressed into me so I could feel his arousal against my sex as I wrapped my legs around his waist, digging my heels into his back.

My head fell back, banging against the door. Oww. He continued to find exposed skin to place soft kisses. I reached my hands up and ran them through my hair pulling it up as I stretched. Mmmmm… I was completely lost.

He held me up between him and the door and made quick work of my belt. I heard it clank when it hit the floor. He started on the little buttons on the front of my top. His mouth found mine again and he consumed me. He tasted like beer and something else I couldn’t quit place, yum maybe, I was definitely going with yum.

When he finally reached the last button he pulled back from me and let go so my strapless shirt could drop to the floor. “God,” he groaned as he looked down at my breasts covered in red lace. I arched so that my back came off the wall slightly so I could reach around and unclasp the thin lace covering my breasts and let it drop to the floor.

The moment my breasts were free he shifted me so he could cover one nipple with his mouth, suckling, while kneading the other. I screamed his name and started grinding my center against his. He growled, against me and the sensation went straight to my core. He nipped gently at my nipple and I cried out.

He pushed us off the door holding me against him tightly as he took a few unsteady steps to regain his balance. My breasts were rubbing against his t-shirt covered chest. That was not right. I was topless so he should be too.
