Oh fuck. Listen to those filthy words coming out of that mouth. “I think I’d like to find out.” Brad spread his legs in invitation, showing off the bulge that was now pressing at his jeans.

“Yeah?” Cash stood up, walked to the door, and locked it.

Brad licked his lips, a low groan dragging up from somewhere deep in his belly. “Uh-huh.”

“Show me what you got, businessman.” Cash leaned on the edge of the big desk, staring over.

Brad chuckled, feeling sexy as he popped the top button of his jeans.

Cash leaned back a little harder, legs spreading. “Come on, baby. Shake it.”

“Nutcase.” Still, Brad dragged his zipper down nice and slow, sliding his fingers along his denim-covered cock at the same time.

“Hey. I have stress and shit. I have good reason to be a nutcase.”

“I’ve heard of this great way to reduce stress.” Brad got the zipper all the way down and let the pressure of his hard prick spread his jeans.

“Yeah? Do tell.” Cash licked his lips, eyes on Brad’s crotch.

“It involves a little naked, some explosions….” Hooking the waistband of his briefs with his thumbs, he started dragging them down.

“I’m a fan of explosions, man. Shit, why didn’t Jackie tell me you were so fucking hot?”

“Maybe the same reason he never even bothered to tell me you were queer.” He was fucking glad he knew now, though.

Brad raised his ass as he tugged the briefs down, and his cock leapt out eagerly. The air felt cold against him, but not even that made his erection go down one little bit. “You gonna come have a taste, cowboy?”

“Yeah, buddy.” Cash walked over to him, hips moving, which made Brad stare. Look at that man. Then Cash went down on his denim-clad knees and slid his cheek up along Brad’s prick.

“Oh fuck.” Brad’s whole body went tight in anticipation—even his toes curled.

  “Um-hum.”

Jesus, for a rough and tumble cowboy, Cash’s mouth was…. He…. Damn. Just damn.

Brad’s fingers found Cash’s curls and slipped into them as he spread his legs wider. “Come on, cowboy. Take what you want.”

“Hell yeah.” Cash slid his tongue up along Brad’s cock, wrapped his lips around the tip, and pulled.

Brad’s hands clenched involuntarily, and he forced himself to loosen them to let Cash do what he wanted. Because, fuck, so far it was good. Somebody knew what to do with his mouth and enjoyed it, head bobbing, throat working around Brad’s cock. He watched through heavy-lidded eyes as Cash’s bobbing translated to the most amazing sensations up and down his prick. It went straight to his balls.

Speaking of his balls…. Cash’s fingers slid over his nuts, pushing behind, rubbing his skin.

“Sweet fucking God.” Brad bucked his hips, pushing into Cash’s mouth.

He slid in and in as Cash swallowed around him, Cash’s tongue slapping his shaft. Brad jerked, that slap singing through him.

“Mmm,” Cash hummed around him, groaning and licking at him with suction firm enough to have him bucking up.

Brad couldn’t remember the last time he’d been sucked so good. His thigh muscles tightened, and he couldn’t stop humping now—pushing forward, wanting more. Cash kept working his balls, the skin behind them—nails scraping, fingers tapping.

“Gonna come,” Brad warned, already all wound up and ready to pop. Fuck. He was in love with Cash’s mouth.

Cash closed his eyes and pulled. Hard.

Brad shoved his fist into his mouth to keep from being too loud, his hips bucking as he came, spilling into Cash’s throat. Cash didn’t lose a drop, simply sucked him dry and licked him clean.

He collapsed back against the chair, stroking Cash’s scalp. “Fuck. That was…. Fuck.”

“Um-hum.” Cash nuzzled his balls, hummed.

Damn, Brad felt all lazy and melted now, easy in his skin. “What’re you needing, man?”

“You. Touch me. Please, buddy. My balls ache.”

“Get up here.” He tugged and got Cash up in his lap—thank fuck the chair was big and sturdy. “Yeah, I can see why you’re hurting.” He popped the top button of Cash’s jeans and worked the zipper down. “Did you paint these on this morning?”

“Nope. Wiggled and shook and shimmied till they worked.” Cash was so hard there was a wet spot on his jeans.

Chuckling, Brad traced that spot, knowing his finger was knocking against Cash’s prick, teasing that hard cock.

  “Jesus. Jesus, good.”

“You’re wanting pretty badly there.” Brad used one finger to spread Cash’s jeans open. Shit, Cash was going commando. He traced the long, lovely prick from root to tip, finger ending at the slit, where a drop of clear liquid rested.

“Hey,” Cash said, “you know how tempting it is? Having a fine fucking man who likes cock right here?”

Brad looked Cash in the eye. “I do.”

Then he wrapped his fingers around Cash’s hard prick and let his thumb drag across the slit to gather that drop right up.

“Fuck….” Cash arched, head falling back. “More.”

He could do that. He tightened his grip and worked his hand up and down Cash’s cock. Fuck, Brad could smell the musky scent rising off Cash as he stroked.

  “Jesus. Just like that, honey.”

Oh, that sounded so hot. Brad grabbed the back of Cash’s head with his free hand. “Gimme a kiss, cowboy.”

Fuck, he could taste himself on Cash’s lips. His cock started struggling back to life, and he groaned, jacking Cash’s prick harder. Cash humped up, fucking Brad’s hand, leaking over his palm. Brad deepened the kiss and twisted his hand every time he brought it up along Cash’s cock. Soft little moans pushed into his lips over and over, in time with his touches.

Oh, he could get used to those sounds. Groaning, he pulled out of the kiss long enough to mutter, “Give it up for me, man.”

“Yeah. Yeah, buddy….” Cash grunted and swallowed, shaking for him.

Brad sped his hand, squeezing harder. He wanted to see Cash’s face when he came. Cash went rigid, clutching Brad’s arms as his wide eyes got all unfocused.

Oh, that was fucking sweet. “Yeah, man. Come on.”

Heat sprayed over his hand, Cash’s belly so tight, so hard, in that instant.

“Mmm…. Now isn’t that something?” Brad kept stroking, spreading Cash’s come down his shaft.

“It’s something all right. Damn, honey. That’s fine.”

“Yeah.” Brad took another kiss, hand slowing, then stopping as his tongue swept through Cash’s mouth. He got another moan, this one happier than it was needy. “I could get used to this.”

“Well, Brad, you and me, we’re gonna be together raising the monkeys forever. That’s prob’ly a good thing.”

Today that thought made Brad laugh instead of panic.

  Chapter Four

“YOU BE good, Bella-Bella.” Cash wasn’t sure he approved of this spending-the-night thing.

“I’ll be fine, Uncle Cash. I spend the night all the time.”

“Okay. Okay, if you’re sure. You call if you need me, huh?” He waved to the little blonde lady with the three other girls in the car.

“I won’t. Bye!” She waved and bounced and was off.

  Boom.

Like Val and Jackie weren’t even gone.

“You’ve got that woman’s number and address, right?” Brad’s voice growled in his ear.

“Yeah. Yeah. Ben says it’s cool. Hell, she’s number four on the speed dial. Girl Scouts or some such shit.”

“Uh-huh.” Brad bounced the baby in his arms, glaring out the open door, watching as Belle climbed into the car and was driven away without a backward glance. “Shit, you think sending her and Ben to school on Monday is going to be any easier?”

“No. Hell, Bethy’s going too; we pick her up halfway through the day.” He headed toward the backyard, where Brian and Brenna were fighting over a ball. “Y
’all stop it right now!”

Brad sighed. “Shit. Oops. No learning the bad words your uncle Brad says, okay, Branson?”

Cash chuckled and swung Brenna up in his arm. “What are y’all fighting for, baby girl?”

Brenna pointed to the ball, like it ought to make perfect sense.

  “Isn’t there two?”

“Isn’t the point of a ball to pass it back and forth?” Brad asked, wading on in, flying Branson around like he was an airplane.

“Bri. Buddy, you wanna play catch with me and Bren?” At the excited little nod, Cash set Brenna down and grabbed the ball. “Okay, I’ll throw it to Brenna. Brenna, you throw to Bri. Bri, you toss to me.”

Brad laughed as Bri’s toss went wide, hitting Branson’s feet instead and winding up back in front of Cash. “Yay! Way to go, Bri.”

“Good throw!” Cash tossed to Brenna, easy as could be, clapping when she caught it.

Branson laughed, his little squeals filling the air.

“Hey, you know we only need three more to have our own baseball team,” Brad said.

Cash chuckled. “Ben’ll have a girlfriend soon enough.”

“Can I play too?” Bethy came running, pulling on her jacket, chocolate smeared around her mouth.

“Oh, girl! What have you gotten into?” Cash asked. Lord have mercy.

“Benny’s making us a chocolate cake!”

“Oh sh—I mean, cra—um… I’ll go make sure everything’s okay.” Brad dumped Branson in Cash’s arms and took off back to the house.

“He’s thirteen, man. He can follow directions.” Or so Cash hoped. Really. “Come on, Beth. You stand between Bren and Bri.”

“I want to check,” Brad called back.

Yeah, probably better safe than sorry.

“Monkey in the middle!” shouted Beth, clapping her hands.

“Okay, kiddos! Throw it high.” He got the baby settled on his hip, laughing as Bri tossed the ball right over Beth’s head.

Bren squealed and ran to pick it up before tossing it back at him. Bri came running and grabbed it. The twins laughed.

“No!” shouted Beth. “You have to throw it to me!”

Bri passed the ball to Bren, who passed it back to him.

“Come on, Beth, I’ll help.” On the next throw, Cash grabbed her with his free arm and lifted her high enough to catch it.

“Hey, that’s cheating.” Brad was back, not quite as chocolate covered as Beth.

“Assisting.” Cash grinned. “How’s the cake making going?”

“Pretty good, actually. Apparently Ben helped Val all the time. With dinner, with baking.” Brad grabbed the ball from Beth and took off. The three kids chased after him.

Cash hooted, settling on one of the swings, chuckling as the baby laughed.

Brad let himself be caught and crashed to the ground, promptly getting piled on. “Help! Help! The monkeys are attacking!”

  “Ooh-ooh-ooh. Eee-eee-eee. Get him, y’all!”

  God, they all looked happy.

All of a sudden, a wave of pure loss hit Cash like a fucking truck barreling down the highway, and he bent his head, hiding his watery eyes in Branson’s neck. Oh, Jackie. Man. This all was s’posed to be yours.

“Well, aren’t you all playing happy families?” That uptight tone could only belong to one person—Brad’s mother.

“We ain’t playing, ma’am. How’s it going?” Bitch.

“Not as well as I had hoped, actually.” She sniffed a little, mouth tight. He wondered that she didn’t constantly have nosebleeds with her nose so high in the air like that.

“No? Well, it takes time, healing.” She had to be missing Val like a sore tooth.

“Yes. I hope you never have to bury a child. Well, I guess that’s something you won’t have to worry about, given your lifestyle and all.”

Now that got his back up. “Well, God willing, these kiddos will all be long in the tooth before they have to bury my cowboy butt.” Jesus, Jackie should have hit her with a hammer at the damn wedding.

Before she could say another word, Brad came barreling over. “Mother. What are you doing here?”

“Well, hello to you too. Can’t I drop in and visit my grandchildren?”

  “No. It’s not your style.”

“It’s getting a touch chilly, y’all. I’m gonna get the kids up into the house.” Lord, Cash didn’t want to be in the middle of some weird mother-son shit.

“Well, if you hadn’t sent the nanny I hired packing, you wouldn’t have to worry about that, now would you?” She bent enough to give each of the kids almost kisses on their cheeks. “What was wrong with her?”

“She was a stranger and not what we need, ma’am,” Cash said. “It was a sweet thought, but the kids need their family, need to know their folks’ wishes are being heard.”

He nudged Bethy toward the house. “Come on, babies. Let’s go bug Ben.”

“But you two can’t possibly manage—”

“Yes, we can, Mother. And you know damned well that Val never wanted her kids to be brought up by nannies.”

“The two of you had a nanny.”

  “Yes, exactly.”

Cash got the kids moving in, leaving the argument behind them.

“Are they fighting, Uncle Cash?” Beth looked wide-eyed.

“Yep. They’ll work it out, though. Folks fight. Move your heinie.”

“I heard Mommy yelling at Grandma once.”

“Yeah? It happens. You yelled at Brian this morning.” Hell, he’d heard Val threaten to take that woman’s head off with a fireplace poker once.

“He took my Barbie!” She said it with all the indignation of a five-year-old.

“What’s going on?” Ben asked as they all trooped into the kitchen.

“Your Granny’s warring with Brad.” He grinned at Ben, who rolled his eyes.

  “Jesus.”

“Did your momma let you talk like that?”

  “No, but Dad did.”

He could believe that. “Yeah. Jackie was good that way, huh?”

Ben nodded and grinned back at him. “I’ve got cake in the oven and one of the casseroles from the freezer in the microwave.”

“You rock, buddy.” Cash got the twins headed toward the washroom. “Bethy, can you set the table, please? I’m going to get the wonder twins cleaned up and Mr. Stinkybutt changed.”

Beth giggled for him and singsonged, “Stinkybutt! Stinkybutt!”

“Indeed.” He goosed her and got the twins washing and peeing and all that while he dealt with the diaper.

By the time he got back to the kitchen, Brad was there helping Beth set the table, his mother nowhere in sight.

“You cool, man?” He got Branson in the high chair with a sippy cup, and the twins slid into their boosters, happy and jabbering.

“Yeah. She didn’t have time to be a total B-I-T-C-H because she had some charity dinner to chair or something.” Brad shook his head and leaned in close. “I have to admit, Texas is beginning to have some big checks in the pro column.”

“I got a big old ranch house. Horses. Satellite TV.” Cash squeezed Brad’s wrist. “What’s her issue?”

“Not now. I don’t want to curse and yell and shit in front of the kids.” Brad turned his hand and linked their fingers together for a moment.

“I hear you. I’ll meet you in the office postbedtime with a six-pack.”

“I’m not sure we’re gonna wind up talking, but I’ll bring the munchies.”

“Works for me. Ben, your oven timer went off.”

“Thanks, Uncle Cash.” Ben pulled his cake out of the oven. It looked pretty damn good. Level and everything.

“Oh, nice one, Ben. Man, I’m hungry.” Brad went over to the microwave and opened it, poking at the casserole. “This looks about ready.”

“Cool!” Ben grinned. “This means I don’t have to do dishes, right?”

“You know it, buddy. You cooked.”

  “Score!”

Brad put on the purple iris-patterned oven mitts and pulled the casserole dish out of the microwave, setting it in the middle of the table. “All right, all hands on deck! It’s chow time.”

Cash grabbed a couple of jars of Gerber and sat next to Branson. “You too, Mr. Chubby. You want peas first or apples?”

“You give him the apples first, and he won’t eat the peas, just spit them out at you.” Brad nodded sagely. “Trust me on this.”

Beth giggled. “It’s true! And peas are really green.”

  “Oh man. My T-shirt’s white.”

  Ben grinned. “For now.”

“Yeah. You notice I’m wearing gray.” Brad smirked.

“Shut up, man.” Cash leaned down, looked into Branson’s eyes. “Okay, bub. You hear that? They’ve challenged us. No spewing.”

Brad laughed. “That boy drools when he hasn’t got a single thing in his mouth, and you think he’s going to eat without getting it everywhere? I know you’ve fed him before now.”

“Uncle Brad’s dissing you, man. You have to work with me now.”

The baby laughed, one tiny tooth shining. That had the twins giggling as well, Brenna’s eyes glowing. Brad dished the little ones’ plates up, and they all settled into eating.

The peas went down pretty easy. Branson was hungry and happy, even letting Cash get a bite or two of his own in. Brad encouraged the twins to keep the food going in their mouths and not falling on the table or floor or being thrown anywhere.

“You looking forward to going back to school on Monday?” Brad asked Ben.

“Looking forward to baseball, not so much to all the questions and sh… stuff.”

“Well, you need any help with anything, you let us know, okay?”

“I will. I just… I don’t want to answer a bunch of hows and whys and stuff.”

Cash looked up from feeding Branson. “I bet most everyone knows, man. You hang tight, yeah?”

“Yeah, and don’t be afraid to tell people you don’t want to talk about it, okay?” Brad reached out and fluffed Ben’s hair.

“Yeah. Yeah, man. I’m cool. Are you coming to the baseball games?”

“Oh man. You know it. I love baseball. I played all through high school.” Cash was crazy about the game.
