“Are there monsters waiting for us?” Javy asked.
Dr. Unger laughed. “Maybe.”
“Ready?” Nora asked as she tossed Zach his neuro-helmet, just before putting on her own.
“Yeah, I'm ready.” He started to put in on. “You know, this would have been the lamest idea for a date five years ago.”
Nora laughed and put down her visor. “Things change fast. See you on the other side.”
Zach flipped down his own visor and activated the neuro-helmet. The welcome message flashed before him, and then he was in Black Wolf's base once again. He joined the others that were already there, grabbing weapons and ammunition for their next expedition.
His alert buzzed. “You're finally on? Good,” David said.
“Has anything changed?” Zach asked.
“No. Ragnarok has issued their threats again, but they haven't made any moves toward us yet. It looks like they may be shifting their focus toward Ronin's group. Do we still want to go ahead with the plan?”
“Yeah, I think we should,” Zach said.
“OK, I'll see if I can get Bravehart and Crimson Eagle straightened out,” David said. “Talk to you once that's done.”
“Everyone's here,” Selene said.
Zach looked over his assembled troops. From the ones who had been there from the beginning to the newest recruits they were ready, armed to the teeth and spoiling for a fight. He smiled.
“Alright then. Time for us to go find some trouble. Let's go kick the hornet's nest.”
