She shrugged, and picked up the caramel. “You’re the one who said I should make yours.”

“You’re right, but I didn’t think my asking you was really that labor intensive.”

She ignored me, working on dumping and pouring everything onto the ice cream. “Movie, Blake,” she muttered.

“Only because if I keep watching you that caramel is going to end up all over you, and not on the ice cream.”

Her jaw dropped, and I knew that I had shocked her again. “Stop doing that,” she hissed.

I leaned close to her. “That doesn’t sound like any fun.” I pressed a kiss to her cheek, and grabbed a couple of peanuts from the bag she had opened.

“Get out of there,” she ordered. She slapped my hand, and pulled the bowl away from my reach. “You can’t start eating the toppings. I’ll have nothing left to put on the sundaes.

“You’re kind of bossy when it comes to ice cream.”

“The funny thing is that you like it.”

I wrapped an arm around her waist, and pulled her back to my front. “Now that is something I will fully agree with.”

I left Karen to finish the deserts, and grabbed the remote for the TV. “You in the mood for anything particular?” She was so going to say pick whatever I wanted.

  “Just pick whatever you want.”

I put the latest episode of House Hunters on, and kicked back on the sofa. “You sure you don’t need any help in there?” I called.

“Just putting everything away. I’ll be right in. Did you start the movie?”

I heard her moving around, snapping on lids, throwing away empty bags, and humming under her breath. She walked into the living room, both bowls in her hand, and plopped down on the couch next to me. “It is so odd that this is what you decided to watch.”

I shrugged, and reached for one of the bowls. “I have enough stress on the job.” I nodded at the TV. “Watching Ken and Kim from New Jersey trying to find their dream home in Barbados is mind numbing.”

She looked down at my hand. “What are you doing?”

“Uh, hand me my ice cream.”

“You really think I made one for you?”

I grabbed a bowl from her hand, and sat back. “You eat both of these bowls of ice cream, you’re going to be comatose for what I have planned for you in about half an hour.”

“Are we on a schedule tonight?” she laughed.

“Just trying to make the most of things, beautiful.” She was lucky I had brought up the ice cream sundaes and not taken her straight to the bedroom. Not that I didn’t think she wouldn’t like that.

She settled back in the couch, and tucked her legs under her. “How was work?”

This was new. Karen and I never really talked about work. Not that we didn’t talk, but this felt different. “Um, it was okay. Had quite a few calls right at the end of the shift.”

  “Everyone okay?”

I glanced over at her. “Yeah. Thankfully.”

She nodded her head, and licked the back of her spoon. “So,” she mumbled. “What happens after ice cream?”

A sly smile spread across my lips. “Well, we get acquainted with each other, but before we do that I think we need to have a talk about the night you went out with Brynn.”

“What? Why?” she said around a spoonful of ice cream. “I can go out with Brynn whenever I want.”

Shit. She thought I was going to be a dick and tell her she couldn’t hang out with her friend. “This has nothing to do with Brynn. I’m talking about what you said to me on the phone.”

She tilted her head, and squinted at me. “I talked to you on the phone that night?”

Of course she wouldn’t even remember talking to me. “Yeah, beautiful. You somehow wound up on the floor talking to me.”

She shook her head. “Yeah, no. I would remember that happening.”

“I think you must have dropped the phone when you were talking to me, so when you found it on the floor you decided to just stay there.”

“This is really what you wanted to talk about?”

“No, I’m just trying to refresh your memory for the next part.”

She twirled her spoon in the air. “Get to it, sparky.”

Here went nothing. “You told me that Cal and Mike were at the restaurant too. I told you to get a ride home with them. Wanna know what you said?”

She gave me the side eye. “I really don’t know if I want to know. I feel that this could be good, or it could be that I told you to go ride a goldfish in a shallow pond.”

“Well, it had nothing to do with a goldfish.”

“I want to feel relieved, but my stomach is still in knots.”

I set my bowl on the coffee table, grabbed hers, and set it next to mine.

“Hey,” she protested, “I was still eating that.”

“You can have it back in two minutes.” I grabbed her around the waist, and pulled her into my lap.

She rested her hands on my shoulders and sighed. “Hit me with it, sparky. The suspense is killing me. I’m sure after you say it the embarrassment of whatever it is will kill me then.”

I brushed her hair from her face. “You told me the only reason you were going to listen to me was because you loved me.”

I felt her suck in a breath and hold it.

My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest.

Her eyes were glued on my mouth and her fingers were digging into my shoulders. “I… ahh… did... “ she stuttered. She gulped, and looked up at me. “Say what?”

“You love me.” It wasn’t a question.

“I, well, I love a lot of things. Pizza, margaritas, Hanson, fall nights, popping bubble wrap, the letter Q, the fe-.”

I held up my hand to cut her off. “We’re gonna go over that list in a little bit.” The letter Q? “But right now we’re gonna talk about how you love me more than anything on that list.”

She opened her mouth then snapped it shut. Karen was sassy and a bit of a smartass, but I knew she wasn’t going to lie about anything. I knew she loved me because she hadn’t tried to deny it. Avoided it, but not deny it. “Everything on that list?”

I nodded my head. “Yes, beautiful. Even those boys on your shirt.”

  “They are not boys.”

We weren’t going to go down this rabbit hole again. “And you love me more than margaritas, pizza, bubble wrap, and the letter Q.”

She huffed and pouted out her bottom lip. “You forgot fall nights.”

  “Fall nights too.”

Her eyes dropped to my shoulder. “I’m going to tell Brynn that we can’t do taco and margarita nights anymore when you guys are working.”

“Because you declare you love me then?”

She slapped me on the shoulder. “Can you please not act like you are enjoying this? I love you. What are you going to do about it?”

There was a whole hell of a lot I was going to do about it. “I’m gonna love you, beautiful. That is what I’m going to do. I’m going to love you back. More than margaritas and Hanson.”

“Those aren’t things you love. Those are mine,” she whispered.

“Then I’m going to love you more than football, draft beer, tamales, and the number seven.”

  She bit her lip.

“I love you more than all of that, Karen.”

  “The number seven?” she giggled.

“Hey,” I protested. “You get to love the letter Q, so I get to love the number seven.” I didn’t really love the number, but I tried to match her weirdness. It was a bit of a struggle.

“You don’t love the number seven,” she insisted. “I know you.”

  “You know me, huh?”

She nodded her head. “I do. You’re Blake Anderson. Heroic firefighter, good friend, lover of donuts, you hate peas, and you’re much too practical to love a number.”

She had me there. Seven was my lucky number, but I damn sure didn’t love the thing. “So you got me there, but I love all of tho
se other things, but not as much as I love you.”

She sobered up, and took a deep breath. “What does it mean if I love you?”

“Well,” I drawled, “You do love me, and it means you’re mine.”

She rolled her eyes. “I would have thought it meant a whole lot more than that.”

“Everything I could say it means is all rolled up in the fact that you’re mine.”

“Why is this hard?” I bucked my hips. “I’m not talking about your dick,” she tsked. “I mean why is it so hard for me to admit that I love you?”

“I don’t think it’s ever easy for anyone to put their heart into someone else’s hands, beautiful. That’s why you and I have tap danced around each other for the past two months. It was easier to think our emotions weren’t involved when they actually were the first night together.”

She reached up, and cupped my cheek. “There comes my practical Blake.”

“I love you, Karen. I’m not going to act like I don’t anymore. When I’m working all I think about is you, and when I’m not working I spend all of my time with you. I was an idiot to wait this long to tell you that I love you.”

“We’ve only been dating for two months, Blake.”

I leaned in and pressed a kiss to her lips. “But I’ve known you for over a year, beautiful. Been sharing a bed with you for two months, but I’ve been getting to know you for a year.”

“Dammit, Blake. I do love you. More than margaritas, Q, and fall nights.”

“You forgot Hanson and bubble wrap.”

She pressed a finger to my lips and winked. “I can’t give it all away in one night,” she whispered. “I’m going to have to break it to Hanson gently, and I have half a roll of bubble wrap at work that I’m going to pop before I can add them to the list of things that you trump.”

I grabbed her arm, and pulled her finger from my lips. “I think it’s time we move onto the next part of our night.”

“Oh, that’s right. You have this night all plotted out.” She looked over her shoulder. “Except our talk took too long because my ice cream is a melted pool with floating gummy bears.”

I wrapped my arms around her, and stood up with her clinging to me. “You can have ice cream after you call me daddy and you come all over my dick.”

“Blake,” she exclaimed. “I am not going to call you that.”

  “We’ll just see about that.”

  Chapter 8

  Karen

  He loved me.

  I loved him.

We both knew, and now Blake was going to do his damndest to get me to call him daddy. I would totally call him that, but I wasn’t going to let that secret out just yet either.

“Where are we going?” I squealed. He slapped my ass, and stalked down the hallway toward my bedroom.

“Bed, beautiful. I’ve waited as long as I possibly can. I need to feel your soft, lush body beneath me.”

“I’m not tired,” I whined. I knew he had no plans of sleeping.

“You will be when I’m done with you.”

  “Promises, promises,” I mumbled.

He kicked open the bedroom door, and tossed me on the bed. “A promise you know I’m going to keep.”

I sprawled out on the bed with my arms above my head. My too small shirt was hitched up exposing my stomach. “I guess you haven’t let me down yet.”

“Clothes off, beautiful.” He pulled his shirt over his head, then bent over to take off his shoes. “I need you naked.”

“So bossy,” I grumbled as I wiggled out of my shirt. His kind of bossy was hot when he was telling me to take my clothes off. I shimmied out of my panties, and kicked them to the bottom of the bed. “Done.”

Blake was still bent over untying his shoes. He grunted under his breath, then finally stood up. His hands went to the button of his jeans and popped it open. “You’re rather eager.”

I rolled my eyes. “Uh, you told me to take my clothes off. I can’t help it that your shoelaces conspired against you.”

“You got me all amped up, beautiful.” He held up one hand that had a slight tremor to it. “Fucking shaking with need for you.”

I dug my heels into the bed and bit my bottom lip. “Then I guess you better get your ass in bed with me.”

His pants dropped to the floor, he yanked his underwear down, and was in bed in five seconds. His hands were all over my body, touching, feeling, while his lips were raining kisses over my shoulder. “Two months of being with you, and I still feel like the luckiest man in the world to have you.”

I threaded my fingers through his hair, and tugged his lips up to mine. “I feel the same way. I ask myself all the time how I got so lucky. Although until about twenty minutes ago I didn’t know you loved me and thought you were eventually going to get bored of me.”

“Never gonna fucking happen,” he growled. His lips crashed down on mine, brutal and unyielding.

This wasn’t going to be slow and sweet. This wasn’t going to take all night.

Blake wanted me, and he was going to take it all.

“Say you love me,” he demanded between kisses.

I opened my eyes and looked directly into his dark blue eyes. “I love you.”

A low growl sounded deep in his throat. He wedged a knee between my legs, and wrapped his arms around me. He rolled us over till I ended up sprawled out on top of him. He cocked his legs open, I fell between them. His rock hard dick pressed against my core. A shiver ran through my body at the anticipation of knowing he was seconds away from burying his dick inside me.

“You’re gonna ride me, beautiful.” His mouth moved to my neck pressing kisses against my skin. “Then I’m gonna take you from behind with your face buried in a pillow, and my name pouring from your lips.”

“I don’t know if I’ll be able to last through all of that.” I was seconds away from coming just from his words.

He slapped my ass. “Saddle up, beautiful. You’re gonna come at least two times before I’m done with you.”

I sat back, and straddled his legs with his dick standing up between us. I scooted back, my eyes connected with his as I slowly bent over, and lowered my mouth over his dick.

“How mother fuck,” he hissed. My lips wrapped around his dick, and my tongue swirled over the soft sensitive skin. “Fucking hell, Karen.”

His fingers threaded into my hair, and he guided my head up and down.

  “Just like that, beautiful.”

I added my hand to grip the base of his cock, and swallowed as he pulled me up. He let out a guttural moan, and I knew this man was putty in my hands. His heavy breathing and groans were all mine.

His thigh tensed under my hand as I bobbed back down. “Fuck, that’s it.”

His hands tugged my head quickly off, and hooked under my arms. He slid out from underneath me, ordered me to stay on my hands and knees, and moved behind me.

He kneeled between my legs, and I felt his dick brushing against my butt. “Blake, please,” I begged. He knew what I wanted.

This was my favorite way Blake took me. He knew exactly what he was doing and I knew it was only going to be a matter of seconds till I was calling him daddy and coming all over his dick.

He hands spanned my hips, and he pressed his hips against me. “You ready for me?”

I was beyond ready for him. I reared back against him and mewled.

He kept one hand on my hips, holding me in place. His other hand skimmed over my ass, then I felt the tip of his dick pressing against my pussy. “Tell me again. Tell me you love me.”

“I love you, Blake,” I said with no hesitation. This was what love was.

  No hesitation.

  No waiting.

  No question.

  I loved Blake Anderson.

He plunged deep, stealing my breath away.

My head dropped to the bed, my hips staying up as he pounded his dick inside me. The walls of my pussy gripping him each time he pulled out.

  H
e gritted out my name, his fingers dug into my hips, and I closed my eyes trying to control the orgasm that was headed for me like a freight train.

“I’m taking it all, Karen,” he grunted. “I’m taking everything you have and I’m never going to give it back.”

Blake made me feel things I had never felt before.

Blake made me love him more than anything in this world.

Blake wrecked me for any other man.

Blake was mine. While he said he was going to take everything I had to give, I was more than willing to give it to him. My heart was his for the taking.

“I love you, Karen. Fucking hell, I love you.”

His hips pounded against my ass, his dick driving deeper with each thrust. A savage yell ripped from my lips, and I came around his dick.

The sting of Blake slapping my ass, and his thrusts speeding up were almost more than I could take. He grunted low, and called out my name as he thrust one last time. He buried his dick deep, and held me there as he pumped his cum inside me. “Fuck yeah,” he grunted. “Fucking… love… you,” he wheezed.

I collapsed onto the bed, Blake’s body covering me like a blanket, and I sighed deep.

So, this was love. This is what it felt like to love a man and have him feel the same way. Everything was perfect except for one thing.

  “Say it,” he demanded.

“I love you.” I hesitated and decided to go for it. “Daddy.”

Blake barked with laughter, and pressed his lips to my shoulder. “The idea of you calling me that sounded way hotter in my head.”

I glanced over my shoulder and smiled. “Thank god, because that totally just creeped me out. That shit is meant for pornos and romance books.”

Both of which we weren’t in.

“Too creeped out to come again?”

“Only if you say it again.”

He brushed my hair away from my ear, and pressed a kiss to my neck. “I love you, Karen, and nothing in this world is ever going to change that.”

“What if I told you I brought donuts home from work with me? Would that make you love me more?”

He chuckled low, his breath washing over my skin. “Not possible to love you anymore, beautiful, but bringing me donuts wouldn’t hurt. Three things in life I’ll come running for. You, a five alarm fire, and donuts.”
