A ménage relationship is exactly what they have hoped for to be able to commit to one woman and make her their everything.

When she is assaulted by an enemy and doesn’t inform them immediately, they must lay down their rules and make her see that her safety is their priority. When she is then threatened by a potential serial killer as well as Bennitto Florres, they take matters into their own hands to protect her. But Mikayla is an independent woman and she wants to handle things on her own. They must learn to compromise before they lose her completely.

  Prologue

Illeanna, Angelina, and Ellena watched as Marie Cherise Laveau entered Aubert’s Restaurant. She had been hanging around a lot lately, giving her advice and little voodoo hints of foreboding events or potential situations. Illeanna felt her belly tighten. She prayed that she wasn’t pregnant. Not now, not when they were all planning to buy out the building next door and expand Aubert’s Restaurant to include dinner, dancing, and live bands. They were still in the early stages of planning, but each day they moved closer to completion. At this rate Armand, Remi, and Marcel and their men would have Secret Pleasures complete and the new addition to Aubert’s Restaurant halfway through to completion. They were gutting the place next door and renovating completely inside, but maintaining the outside old-town appeal. They would spiffy it up when they all agreed on the appearance of the outside.

A quick glance at Cherise, and Illeanna felt uneasy. Everyone was still on edge with the fact that Bennitto Flores remained at large. Neither Michael Fromm, the CIA, nor the FBI had been successful in tracking him down. She didn’t want to think about that now. It had been scary enough.

“Mornin’, child. Your sister Mikayla coming by for lunch today?” Cherise asked in a very serious tone. That was Cherise, barely did that woman ever smile. She was always so serious.

“Not sure really. I can call her and see. She’s been real busy with work,” Illeanna replied.

Cherise stared at her, and Illeanna didn’t know what to do. She felt her belly tighten again and a weird sensation tingle through her body. She had planned on calling Mikayla anyway. She had something to talk to her about. Well, vent really.

“Well?” Cherise stated loudly then waved her hand toward the phone as if asking her what the hell she was waiting for.

“Okay, I’ll call her now,” Illeanna said then picked up the phone.

Mikayla Aubert was looking over her e-mails on the computer and scheduling the remainder of the week on her iPhone. This was getting to be too much. How could one person handle all of this? She had five agents working under her, and yet here she was inundated with more potential buyers. As her cell phone rang, she hesitated answering it but then glanced at the caller ID.

“Hi, Illeanna, what’s going on?” Mikayla asked her sister as she leaned back in the chair and took an uneasy breath. She was feeling overwhelmed.

“Oh, the same ole same ole. The guys are driving me crazy, we’re trying to look over plans for the restaurant today, and well, actually Cherise is here and was wondering if you were making it by for lunch.”

Mikayla felt her belly tighten. Cherise was there looking for her? Something was up.

“I can’t make it today. I am swamped,” Mikayla told her sister, and she heard Illeanna cover the phone then say good-bye.

  “What’s going on?” Mikayla asked.

“I have no idea. I was just worried that Cherise was going to tell me I was pregnant.”

Mikayla laughed. “Like that would be such a terrible thing?”

“No, not terrible just inconvenient at the moment. I can hardly even breathe lately with the men constantly around me hovering. Right now Gustave and Johnny are parked outside of the restaurant. People are talking, Mikayla,” Illeanna stated, sounding frustrated and embarrassed. Mikayla wished she had men watching over her like that. Illeanna and Angelique were very lucky.

“People talk no matter what anyway. I
mean you are involved with a ménage relationship and now building a big classy restaurant in Orchidea. What do you think people in our town will do? They’re thrilled and excited about the potential of more business coming their way. This is all going to change things around town and in all our lives. I’ve been getting a lot of calls over the open land outside of Orchidea. The buzz is starting.” Mikayla swallowed the nervous sensation as she thought about Dr. Antoine Fromm and of course Michael. She hadn’t heard from them in a few weeks. And even then it was just a quick call to say hello, and she felt as if they were checking on her. She hadn’t seen either man since after the incident with Illeanna and Bennitto Flores. She didn’t like thinking about that. But now Antoine and Michael were interested in getting together for her to show them the property outside of Orchidea this week. It was so strange. She wasn’t sure if one of them liked her or both of them, and she wasn’t sure what she wanted anyway.

“Hey, are you still there?” Illeanna asked, interrupting Mikayla’s thoughts.

“Yeah, I’m still here. I’m just so damn busy. I can’t keep up.”

“I thought you just hired two new agents last month?”

“I did, Illeanna, but I keep getting these recommendations from I don’t know who. The potential buyers and sellers won’t tell me but only that I came highly recommended.”

“Ohhh sounds interesting. Maybe it’s some hunky guy or guys interested in ya?”

“Oh please, Mikayla. Things like that really don’t happen.”

“Who knows, maybe you’ll get a visit from CIA agent Michael Fromm or his hot doctor brother, Antoine. He did an awesome job by the way with Julien.”

  “How is Julien doing?”

“Oh, changing the subject huh? He’s doing great. Just about a hundred percent and back working with Louis.”

  “You sound a bit worried.”

“I am, but I also want them back working. It’s a mix of emotions really. They need to keep busy and get back to their professions. I’m just so exhausted. I’ve got too much going on with the demolition and revamp next door, the plans for the new place, meeting with the architect and designers, never mind the restaurant supply companies that have been soliciting business and don’t forget all the sex I’ve been having.”

“What?” Mikayla asked, completely shocked by Illeanna’s last statement. She should be thrilled to have such men adoring her with love and attention.

“I’m only half complaining really. Well, not complaining as much as venting to you I guess. It’s wonderful to have such strong, sexy men care for me and adore me, but I’m one person and I’m tired.”

  Mikayla chuckled.

“Oh, you poor thing, getting sex all the time, it has to be rough.”

“Oh stop that! It’s not what I meant.”

“I have no clue as to what that feels like, so I’m not going to give any advice but one thing.”

“Oh really? Okay, let me have it.”

“You need to talk to the guys. Sit Johnny, Gustave, Franco, Julien, and Louis down and explain how overwhelmed you’re feeling. This is important if you want the relationship to work out.”

“I know you’re right. To get intimately involved with one of these men a woman has to be a glutton for punishment, but all five and I must be insane.” Illeanna sounded so frustrated but happy.

“You’ll survive. Listen, I have to go. I’ll call you later.”

“Okay. Good luck and thanks for the talk.”

  “Anytime, sista, anytime.”

Mikayla looked down at her phone and saw the new message. She didn’t recognize the number, so she listened to the voice message.

“Hello, Miss Aubert, my name is William Bently III, and I am interested in scheduling an appointment to see 1254 Burrens Place. You came highly recommended. I am in New Orleans for the next two days before I must leave for business in Germany. Could you please contact me in the next twenty minutes to set something up immediately? I will pay you for your time and of course reimburse you for any inconvenience this may cause for cancelling all other appointments. I look forward to hearing back from you.”

Illeanna was shocked. Who the hell recommended her? Burrens Place was a six-million-dollar estate, and she wasn’t certain she liked this guy’s attitude. But then he sounded like he was used to ordering people around and paying for inconveniences, and he was interested in the highest-priced property she liked a lot. It would give her an opportunity to show off her skills as an agent to Shelly Merchot, a realtor at Sotheby’s showing that home. Wouldn’t it be awesome if she could sell the home instead of Shelly? This was great. She must find out who kept recommending her, but first she had to call Mr. Bently.

She made the phone call, and ten minutes later she was making plans to meet him in an hour, cancelling all other customers for this one man. He sounded so intriguing on the phone, and she had forgotten to ask who had recommended her. Damn! She would find out when she met him in an hour. For now, she needed to reschedule the other appointments for later tomorrow or in the week and if need be she would cancel her appointment with Dr. Fromm and his brother. They hadn’t decided which places to look at yet but not as high priced as Mr. Bently’s. She buzzed her secretary so they could start rearranging.

  * * * *

The ocean breeze blew the cream-colored sheer curtains back away from the balcony doors. He could see the turquoise water from where he sat enjoying the morning paper. He held the phone to his ear, listening to the latest update and hoping that the time for action was drawing near. Two long months of waiting, hiding, running to escape capture was his motivation for revenge.

“Tell me that you have a plan,” Bennitto Flores stated into the phone.

“The woman is being constantly guarded. When her men aren’t with her, she is with two sisters and still guarded.”

“She is with all five of the men? Like together intimately still?”

  “Yes, sir.”

“Interesting. Lie low and let me know if and when things change. If they continue, my lack of patience may force me to make a rash decision. I want revenge upon these men. Keep me posted.”

Bennitto hung up the phone and sighed in anger and frustration. He wanted to take Illeanna from them. He wanted to make their lives miserable for destroying his plans.

The phone rang again, and Bennitto looked at the caller ID. It was an informant of his.

  “Yes?”

“They picked up Julio Puentes in the Cayman Islands. What would you like me to do?”

  “Who has him?”

  “CIA.”

“Motherfuckers! They think they can find me?” He thought about it for a moment. The Feds and the CIA were after him. This wasn’t good. They needed to be persuaded to retreat. He had to make a move, but his inside connections were refusing contact now that he was a wanted criminal. Perhaps he should come up with a new hit list. That would send a clear message.

“Take care of it. You know what to do, just be sure to not get caught.”

  “Sí, Senor Flores.”

Bennitto stood up and walked closer to the balcony in the large villa off the coast of Havana. He had freedom here, a new life if he played his cards correctly. But considering none of his previous business partners wanted to conduct any business with him because of his current “hot” situation, he focused on revenge. He had plenty of money, enough to last a lifetime and then some. He would get what he was after. He would take away something that would make the message loud and clear to never mess with Bennitto Flores again.

  Chapter 1

Pierre needed to pick the locations of interest for his newest project. He was in need of a realtor and didn’t want to use his regular person, Giselle. Lawrence Murphy, a friend, had mentioned that Pierre’s brother Antoine had recommended a young woman by the name of Mikayla Aubert to some friends in the area. So he decided to give her a call. The house was currently listed by another real estate agency but he had heard negative opinions about the agent and decided
to give this Aubert woman a call.

He had heard through the grapevine that one of his competitors was interested in an estate to possibly begin a new business venture, and sure enough it was Pierre’s top choice. As Pierre looked into the location, he realized that it was exactly what he had been searching for to renovate and create the bed-and-breakfast solely to accommodate business travelers.

He glanced down at his phone to view any missed text messages. He was hoping that their brother Douglas would return his texts or his calls, but Douglas was still pissed at Michael and Antoine. That man sure could hold grudges. As he spoke to Mikayla Aubert over the telephone, she seemed very professional and had a raspy, rather sexy voice. For some strange reason he was excited about meeting her. Antoine was very picky when it came to women. He rarely dated due to his line of work as a doctor and felt that commitment was difficult. Could he possibly have an interest in this Aubert woman? Michael on the other hand was so gung ho about his CIA position that he feared he would have to leave at any moment for a case and sometimes for weeks at a time. He didn’t think that was fair. They had been acting very strangely after they dealt with a common case and a wounded law enforcement officer. Pierre wondered if there was more to that. He had a sixth sense when it came to certain things, and now it seemed his curiosity was running a bit wild.

Pierre Fromm straightened out his designer tie and checked his reflection in the mirror. He ran a hand through his jet-black hair, shoulder length and slicked back so it wouldn’t hang directly over his shoulders. Truth be known, he hated wearing designer suits all the time and looked forward to the weekends and the laid-back attire of jeans and a T-shirt. He stared at his reflection, surprised at how excited he was to meet the mystery woman. His green eyes nearly sparkled. He had been told that his piercing green eyes scared the crap out of his business associates and made him appear scrupulous and hard. Having those characteristics made him into the wealthy entrepreneur he was today.
