The harder Shay thrust as her, the better it felt. She had never known anything better than the feeling of his cock buried in her. Shay groaned with each thrust and Ava let out a soft cry as an intense orgasm began to crest. She fought to keep her eyes open so she could relish in her surroundings. When Shay started to slow, Ava’s body throbbed against him. He grunted and slid his hand from her ass around until his middle finger touched her clit. He started soft and then pressed harder as he made circles.
“I’m going to fill you,” Shay said. “Right here in the open.”
“Please,” Ava whispered. “Please, Shay…”
“Fuck. How can you be so tight still?”
He pulled back and then thrust forward hard again. Ava cried out and lost her balance, but Shay grabbed her waist and pulled her back as he thrust. He was stretching her, loving her, and fucking her.
When Shay came, he was deep inside Ava and groaned each time his cock pumped. It felt like hours of endless pleasure. When he was done, he eased himself from Ava and wrapped his arms around her and made her stand.
“That’s why you’re here,” Shay whispered in her ear. “For your protection. For my pleasure.”
“Oh my god,” Ava whimpered.
Shay chuckled and then kissed Ava’s cheek. “Now, let’s get out of here before someone tries to kill us.”
It was right, wrong, romantic, and erotic all at the same time. Ava was shaking. She no longer feared her husband coming after her or the war that the club was in; she feared not having these moments with Shay everyday for the rest of her life.
fifteen.
Shay couldn’t get her out of his head. And it wasn’t just because she gave herself to him when he demanded it. He could get that with any reliever, any time he wanted. This was something else. And this was definitely not the time to start thinking about life and the future. He needed to focus on finding Caius and killing him before he killed Shay or a member of the club.
Shay had a beer with his eggs for breakfast and then collected another plate of food and took it to Ava, who was still sleeping when Shay got back to the room. Cuddled under the blankets, she looked so innocent and out of place. How could he let her get so involved? He should have just let her stay under Trev’s protection and ignored her. But now he had dragged someone else into the battle with his brother, and his guilt was killing him. He put the plate of food and coffee down and stood at the edge of the bed.
He touched her face and when she moved to her back, he ran a finger down her chest, pulling the covers off her body. The sight of her breasts and her soft, tasty nipples made him thicken in his jeans. He kept going until the blankets were down to her knees. She was a beautiful angel just laying there in his bed.
Ava slowly opened her eyes and her face turned red when she realized she was still naked from the long night before.
“Brought you some breakfast,” Shay said.
“I’d rather have something else,” Ava whispered.
Her fingers pulled at his zipper and before Shay could think anything, Ava’s hand was in his pants pulling at his cock. She took him out of his jeans and then stretched her lips around the thick head of his erection.
Grunting, Shay put a hand to the back of her head and let her suck on him. Her legs were spread and breasts bounced as she moved back and forth on him. Her small mouth felt tight and warm. It reminded Shay of her pussy. Gently, he started to thrust at Ava. He couldn’t take his eyes off her lips on his shaft, but when he did and caught Ava starting up at him, he gritted his teeth and shook his head.
“Fuck, love,” he whispered. “This never happens so quick… but… damn…”
Shay curled his hand tight around Ava’s hair. She moved faster and faster, bringing him right to the edge. When Shay felt the first spurt of his orgasm, he hissed. Instead of stopping and accepting Shay, Ava kept going. She kept moving and sucking, taking him again and again, savoring his taste.
When she finally took her mouth from his cock, she sat up and grabbed the sheet from the bed. She wrapped it around her body and stood. Ava licked her lips and smiled.
Shay wanted to say something, but his thoughts were scrambled. This chick was stealing a piece of his heart he didn’t know existed.
Damn…
“Are you going anywhere today?” Ava asked as she sat on the edge of the bed, the sheet around her body, eating what technically was now her second breakfast.
Shay collected himself and said, “There’s a fight tonight.”
“A fight?”
“Yeah. We fight. A lot. It’s good money and a great way to burn off some anger. We need to keep the Lost Men happy. They need a good fight. And I want you there with me.”
“Where?”
“Wherever I am,” Shay said. “I won’t lie, Ava, it’s rough. Lots of guys and girls. Blood. Sometimes people get killed. Emily’s best friend was killed at one of these fights.”
“What?” Ava asked. “And you want me to go there?”
“It’s safer than being here. I can see you and protect you. I just want you to… to realize what this all is. It’s not a game. It’s not for fun. It’s my life. We don’t get the chance to plan for a future. We only get right now, Ava. This second. This moment. You’re with me, but you don’t have to be. Once this is all done, you’ll be free to do as you please. I would never hold you hostage here.”
Ava stood and walked her plate to the dresser. Shay wished the damn sheet would fall off her body. But that would only tempt him even more.
“Are you asking me to stay here?” Ava asked.
“I don’t know what the fuck I’m asking,” Shay said. “When I come into this room and see you sleeping in the bed… it’s good. Okay? And the day you took off…”
“That wasn’t good?” Ava asked with a smirk.
“It’s no joke,” Shay said. “You want to see some chopped off fingers? You want to see what my car looked like after it blew up? You want to see pictures of Erik after that bomb went off?”
Ava shook her head. “I’m sorry. I was just… I don’t know. Shay, I’m right here. I’m present with you and I’m okay with that. If that’s okay with you.”
“The fight is later,” Shay said. “You have to stay close to me. I’m not trying to scare you, I just don’t want you wandering away.”
“Do the others go to these?” Ava asked.
“Like I said, Emily’s best friend was killed at one. But that was an attack on us. We got our revenge for it.”
Ava nodded. “I’ll be wherever you want. I can’t let any of the Lost Men hurt me, and no one can learn my secret…”
“What you need to do right now is drop that sheet and finish your breakfast.”
Ava blushed as she opened the sheet and let it fall to the floor. The rest of the day was spent naked and back and forth between the bathroom and bedroom. The whole afternoon passed until it was time to get ready. They got dressed and left the room for the first time since breakfast.
Shay had Ava wait at the bar while he went into the meeting room where Griffin was going over the details of the fight with Miller. There was a stack of cash on the table.
“Are we betting?” Shay asked.
“Yeah,” Griffin said. “We’re betting on the Lost Men.”
“Might as well make a little cash from all this,” Miller said. “We’re going to need it.”
Gaige appeared in the doorway and looked at Shay. “Got a second?”
Shay bumped fists with Griffin and then left the meeting room. Shay and Gaige walked further down the hall.
“Everything solid with Chief Jerry?” Gaige asked.
“Yeah. Just needed some information.”
“On what, man?”
Shay motioned to Ava.
Gaige raised an eyebrow. “Really?”
“For her protection,” Shay said. “That’s all. It’s been a long road for the club, Gaige. This will be ending soon.”
Gaige smiled. “You really think that?”
>
“No,” Shay said. “But a guy can hope.”
“The only hope we have is in a bottle and between our woman’s legs.”
“Spoken quite like Blaine,” Shay said.
“What about Blaine?” a voice asked.
Blaine ran a hand through his hair. With a cigarette between his lips, he smiled.
“Nothing,” Shay said. “Just getting ready for the fights.”
“I’m ready to fight,” Blaine said. “Just had a good fuck. Her tits, man, they were like watermelons. Big and heavy…”
“And green?” Shay asked.
Gaige burst out laughing.
“No, man,” Blaine said. “Tits aren’t green. That would be… just weird.”
Shay laughed and went to the bar. He had a beer with Ava, and then when Miller made the call, they all left the clubhouse.
Outside, it was like an army getting ready for war. Back Down Devil led the massive group of motorcycles out of the compound. The Lost Men were right behind them, followed by three of the Back Down Devil ‘s prospects. They were on the tail end to make sure everyone knew the Lost Men were allowed to be with the MC.
To anyone walking down the sidewalks, the thunder from the engines felt like an earthquake. Shay knew seeing so many bikers at once made everyone uneasy, but that was good. It reminded them not to take their freedom for granted.
The journey took them to the industrial section of Frelen, almost out of town. A rundown back wooded place near the water and an abandoned rail line. Most of the buildings had once been busy and successful, but thanks to the failing economy, they were now skeletons of steel and shells of what they once were. The owners of the buildings needed to make money somehow, so the easiest way was to rent the buildings out for business affairs.
Miller and Gaige were at the front, side by side. Then it was Nate, Landon, Shay, and Erik. Griffin and Jace next and then the rest of the guys, followed by the Lost Men. A man stood at an even larger gate. He wore a suit and black sunglasses and had a wire attached to his ear as he spoke with Miller. He gave a nod and the gates opened.
Shay felt Ava tug at him. She was nervous.
That was good, too. She should be nervous.
Once inside the gates, everyone parked their rides and made their way to the back of the building. The fights were going to be outside, once the sun set. About fifteen minutes later, the colors in the sky disappeared and night settled in. The circle was lit up by big lights and the outer area of the fight lit up by torches. There were tables, drinks, and too many men and woman to count.
Ava was stuck to Shay’s side where she was told to be.
Back Down Devil sat around a couple tables. Nate gripped about six beers in one of his massive hands and passed them around. Shay grabbed two and gave Ava one.
“How’s this working?” Shay asked.
“We will have the Lost Men go in, one by one, and take on whoever wants it.”
“Think it’ll be a blowout?”
“I don’t know anything right now,” Nate said. “Just because they’re Lost Men doesn’t mean they’re invincible.”
Gaige came over with Blake and Griffin.
Shay looked down at Ava and gave a nod. “What do you think?”
“Little crazy here,” she whispered.
“This is what we do. Deals are struck. Enemies are sought. Scores are settled. Believe it or not, some clubs are just here to relax with cold beer and warm pussy. This is our entertainment.”
Ava stared up at him with those blue eyes. He put a hand to the back of her head and stroked her hair once. Black hair and blue eyes. What a combination.
“Hey, we’re starting up,” Nate called out.
“Come on,” Shay said as he stood. He put out a hand and helped Ava to the top of the table.
The Lost Men lined the edge of the circle and were ready to just start attacking. A man came out and pointed to Billy of the Lost Men. “You. Get the fuck in here and fight.”
Billy came forward. A lumbering man with big eyes and an ugly face, he was known as ‘Billy Bite’ to the Lost Men. His opponent stepped forward and took off his leather cut, sunglasses, and rings.
“Asshole is wearing sunglasses,” Shay said. “He stands no chance.”
Ava huddled closer to Shay. She was afraid of the violence. There was nothing Shay could do about that. The fight started and Billy Bite just stood there. The other man came at him, swinging hard and fast. He landed three punches in a row, Billy Bite taking them. His head bobbed and his nose was bleeding already.
“Christ,” Blaine said. “One of these? What’s he going to do, wear him out? I fucking hate this shit. Where’s the fight?”
The fight came and went a second later when the man tried punching Billy Bite again. When he swung, Billy Bite ducked the punch. The man spun and Billy Bite jumped on his back. They both crashed to the ground with the sick thud of the man’s body and face hitting the pavement. Billy Bite then growled like an animal and bit the back of the man’s neck. When he pulled back, he had blood running down his chin and a piece of the man’s flesh in his mouth.
“Holy fuck,” Nate said.
“Oh…shit,” Griffin groaned. He turned around and grabbed his stomach.
Ava buried her face into Shay and let out a cry.
“That was fucked up,” Shay said.
A few of the Lost Men rushed to pull Billy Bite away. The other guy’s crew came into the circle and pulled their brother out of the fight. Luckily by the way he was shaking, his body was probably in shock so he wouldn’t have felt much pain.
The next fight was a solid one, the Lost Men pulling another victory. Then came three in a row where the Lost Men couldn’t take care of themselves. Two of the guys were really tall, but they fell like old trees in a storm. One took a punch to the jaw and fell so hard that his head split open and was out cold. Billy Bite dragged the guy away.
Now the crowd was getting into it. People betting. Blood in the circle. The tension building.
“What you think?” Shay asked Ava.
“I don’t like it,” Ava said. “Do you fight?”
“When I need to.” Shay touched Ava’s cheek.
Ava looked to the circle and swallowed. She shook her head, closing her eyes.
“It’s how it goes,” Shay said. “There’s nothing to hide from in this life, Ava.”
As Shay spoke the words, he looked over his shoulder. He couldn’t help but worry that his brother was lurking somewhere close.
Shay slipped a hand around Ava and pulled her close.
“Look,” Ava said. “Look who’s fighting next.”
Nile walked up to the man in the center of the circle and grabbed him by the shirt. He shouted something and the man quickly nodded.
“We have a change,” the man yelled. “Nile here… wants to pick his opponent…”
The crowd let out a little cheer.
“No way,” Shay whispered with a growl in his throat.
Before Shay could think another thought, Nile looked right at him. The crowd followed Nile’s gaze and it fell silent. Deathly silent.
All eyes were on Shay.
But Shay didn’t need a second to make his decision…
He nodded.
sixteen.
For a second there Ava thought Nile was looking at her. When she realized it was Shay he was looking at, she almost collapsed. By the time Ava turned her head to look at Shay, he was already nodding. His hand moved from her body and he turned to face his club. He jumped down from the table as the crowd started to cheer. She suddenly felt alone and vulnerable on the table by herself.
He had his leather cut already off and was starting to take his rings off. Ava pulled at his shirt.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“Doing what I need to do,” Shay said. “I have to fight. I’ll protect you.”
“No,” Ava said. “Don’t do this because of me.”
Shay put his hands to her hips and lifted her.
He turned and put her feet on the ground. “When I’m called to fight, I fight. It’s my life, Ava. Either deal with it or leave.”
“Brother, come on,” Blaine said. “Give me your shirt.”
Shay lifted his t-shirt off his chiseled body and rolled it up. He tossed it to Blaine but kept his eyes on Nile.
“Think of all he did to you,” Shay said. “All he said. Think of what brought you here. I’m going to make sure it’s settled.”
Ava grabbed Shay’s wrist. “Please, I’m scared. I don’t want to be standing here without you.”
“I’ll take care of it,” Shay said.
He whistled and a guy came running immediately. Shay grabbed the guy by his leather cut and pulled him close.
“Ava, this is Jon,” Shay said. “He’s a prospect. That means he does what he’s told. His life is the life of the club. That means he will die before someone touches you. Isn’t that right, Jon?”
“Yes,” Jon said.
Ava looked at Shay, then to Jon. She wondered how he wound up with Back Down Devil.
“Tell her,” Shay said. “Tell her, Jon.”
“I’d die for you, ma’am,” Jon said.
Shay turned and faced Gaige, Nate, Blaine, and Jace. “Anyone object?”
“No,” Gaige said. “Do what you’re fucking told, prospect.”
Shay pushed Jon toward the table. He then put a hand to the back of Ava’s neck and pulled her close. He kissed her once, savoring her mouth.
“Love, I’ll be right back,” Shay said. “I’m going to make sure he understands who is in command here. Jon will stand with you. He wants to patch in and that means he’ll do anything to protect the club. And you’re part of this club right now. In this present, this is your family.”
Ava looked to her left. The other guys were good looking, but intimidating also.
“Stand on the table and watch me take care of this,” Shay said.
He kissed Ava once more and then walked to his club. They escorted him through the crowd as everyone cheered. Ava scrambled up the table and stood, her eyes glued to Shay as he pushed through the crowd. He broke through to the circle and kept walking. He made a line toward Nile and didn’t stop until he crashed into him with his bare chest. It knocked Nile back a few steps. Nile then came at Shay, doing the same.
