Evidence of Desire: Hero Series 3

After he placed a plate of bacon down on the table, he moved around it and kissed her on the corner of her mouth.

So close but not actually touching her lips, made her lips tingle and her mouth crave to taste him.

He pulled her seat out. “Good morning. If you’re ready to eat.”

Parker being a gentleman was nothing new. However, having him in her space and house was doing things to her. She’d missed him. She’d missed waking up to him over the years they had been apart. During the time they were apart she had attempted to fool herself and convince herself that it didn’t matter. That she was surviving perfectly without him...but that wasn’t the truth. She could admit that now.

After last night, she felt safe needing him. There were still a lot of things necessary for her to work out. Stuff inside her heart and mind she would have to come to grips with, but she was willing. He’d told her that was all he required of her right now, for her to be willing and he could be patient for the rest.

Getting out of her own head she began to load her plate with pancakes, bacon and fresh fruit before covering it heavily with warm maple syrup and butter.

After they blessed the food, he pointed at her drawn pancake. “I see you still have a sweet tooth.” He smiled, the sun brightening his features as they sat beside the bay window.

“Just a little.” She held up two of her fingers made a space between them about the size of an inch.

He held his arms up and his hand wide. “More like this little.”

She couldn’t deny his words so she just cut out a forkful and placed the first bite into her mouth. It was pure heaven. “Hmm. That’s good.”

The sound of Parker clearing his throat made her open her eyes. His heated gaze set her body ablaze across the table. He was staring so intent on her lips that she could swear she could feel a caress over her mouth.

Licking her lips to catch the syrup, she quickly picked up a napkin and wiped her mouth. “Sorry, I guess I’m acting like a piglet here.”

“I derive pleasure from seeing you enjoy things. Please, don’t let me stop you.”

“Well, it is hard to eat with someone staring at me.”

“Beauty attracts attention.” He lifted a piece of bacon to his mouth and sank his even white teeth through it.

Never had a man biting a piece of food been as erotic as it was now. She wanted to grab herself and give a good shake. Why she felt as horny as a lioness in heat, she wasn’t sure. Even though it had been years since she’d had sex until recently, she and Parker had messed up sheets at his house just three days ago. She shouldn’t be shocked from her response to him, it had been like this when they first got together. An insatiable heat, need and wildness. It amazed her that they had gotten any schoolwork down and still managed to graduate with honors.

Now, she probably had too much free time on her hands. Especially since her recital was complete. The school would take a month off through Christmas and the New Year so she wouldn’t even have that to keep her occupied. Tomorrow he would return to work and she’d been walking her house and trying to find something to do without losing her mind.

“What are your plans for the day?”

“Since it’s already after twelve, church is out. I want to buy my dad some shoes, but I’ll probably just do that tomorrow. That way I can go directly to the post office and mail them out.” She speared a cantaloupe chunk. “So, nothing.”

“If you’re not too tired, how about bowling. I’ll warn you that I’m not good at it at all.”

“I’d like that. No worries, I’m terrible. Gutter ball champion here.” She pointed a finger at herself.

  “We’ll see about that.”

As they ate the discussion turned to other sports they were both horrible performing. When they were both full, she rose and took both their plates to the sink to clean them. Her house had a dishwasher, but she rarely generated enough dirty items to actually run it.

“I located the dishes, but I need a little help in containers to put the extra stuff away.” He stood and grabbed the plate of bacon and cinnamon rolls.

She ran warm water into one side of the sink after dropping dishwashing liquid into it. “In the pantry, on the third shelf you will find small storage bags for the rolls and foil to wrap up the bacon. The eggs you can put in a plastic bowl from the cabinet down the end.”

  “I’m on it.”

They worked in harmony to get the kitchen straighten, teasing and flirting with each other. In all the years of absents, she’d forgot about their easy rhythm.

After the drainer was filled with platters and dishes they used, she reached into the cooled soapy water and pulled the plug. She turned around to get the towel of the island to dry her hand and slammed into Parker.

  “Oof...sorr—”

His hands were on her hips, holding her body against his. The thin material of the dress was no match for the heat in his hands.

It seemed like winter sun shined a little brighter in the kitchen and birds began to sing to the beating of their hearts as they stood there. The warm, musk of his body tempted her, drew her closer to him. His fingers flexed on her sides and she could feel the pressure and indention of each of his fingers.

She felt possessed by his touch.

“I was trying to be good. Behave myself.”

“Who asked you too?” she whispered, feeling more than a little breathless and lost in a cloud of lust.

Unsure who moved first, she didn’t care. All she knew was that she was being consumed by the yearning between them. He tasted of a combination of bacon and cinnamon. She couldn’t get enough. She pressed into him and confirmed that his desire for her was just as rampant by the hardness of his shaft behind his jeans. Unable to resist, she ground her hips to his.

  He groaned.

As he tongue swept into her mouth, his hands lowered to the hem of her dress. Her skin tingled as he caressed the sides of her thigh. Going further, he glided up her hips and around to her backside. His hands stopped.

For a moment she was the only one doing all the kissing.

His hands were squeezing her curves tight.

“The entire time we’ve been sitting here, you’ve been naked under this short little dress?”

Leaning into him, she eased the ache of her taut nipples. “Do you mind?” She batted her eyes and smiled, flirting with him.

“Hell, yes. If I’d known, I would’ve been inside you a long time ago. Breakfast makes a perfect dinner.” He lifted her, claiming her mouth again.

Her giggle was smothered by their kisses. She held onto his shoulders and wrapped her legs around his hips. Going out of her mind with longing, she rubbed herself along the thick bulge threatening to break his zipper.

“I need you…” She kissed his nose, chin, and then licked the side of his neck before sucking it into her mouth. Ravenous for Parker that’s what she was.

“You’re going to get me…Soni-love.” He was walking.

She didn’t care where. His touch was too distracting. Blunt, deft fingers slipped along the crease of her behind to play along her opening. She could feel the evidence of her desire in the wet glide of his hand.

“Ohhh, yes.” She wanted him to press inside of her, but he didn’t. He remained right at the rim of her sex, taunting her.

There was a cool, hard press along her back. In the back of her mind, she recognized the high gloss structure of her kitchen wall.

“I will buy you a new one.”

As she opened her eyes, she tried to comprehend his words. “A new—”

No need for her to wonder anymore as the front of her dress was ripped down the front by his hands. Her breasts hung bare now. He lifted her a little higher until her boobs were directly before his mouth. She dug her nails into his round, muscular shoulders. When he drew the first hard tip into his mouth, his fingers entered her at the same time causing her to go up in flames.

Tilting her head back, she palmed the back of his head to hold
him against her. The dual handling were both satisfying and inciting at the same time. She had needed his mouth and hands on her body all morning, correction, all night. Even though she’d slept soundly in his arms, there wasn’t a part of her body that hadn’t craved him. Sleep had taken precedence then. Besides, Parker had been acting the perfect gentleman.

Not anymore. He’d become her prince of pleasure. She was more than happy with the personality shift.

As she pumped her hips, his fingers glided along her throbbing inner walls. He feasted on one breasts to the other, nipping and licking along the peaks and curves.

When he began to flick his tongue over one of her sensitive nipples she reached the top of ecstasy mountain. She bucked and squirmed traveling along the pathways of pleasure as she called out his name.

“I’m right here, love.” The light kisses he brushed against her chest and neck, should have been calming as he lowered her, but they were not, she needed him too much.

“It’s your turn now.” She reached between them and attacked the fastening of his jeans. Button undone, zipper down…she wasn’t satisfied until she had his hard, silken steel in her hand. “You feel so good.”

“Nothing like you.” He bit her bottom lip then licked away the smarting he caused.

“I want you inside me. Now.” She demanded, no longer feeling playful. If Parker was her man than she had a right to take control and claim him when she needed him. Leaning back, she locked her ankles at the small of his back then spread her thighs wider, thankful for his powerful hands still holding her up. Bringing the crown of his member to her clit, she stroked herself with it, excited as the hot pearl droplet at the tip coated her there. Up and down her hand moved, manipulating and coating him with her cream.

“Baby, I can’t take much more.” His eyes were closed and his face was drawn tight.

“Oh, yes…” She pressed him right at her gate of pleasure and pressed down. Rocking her hips, she took him deeper. Her toes curled at the stretching and stroking sensation inside of her.

“That’s it.” He remained still and allowed her to keep the lead in the beginning.

Her only warning was the husky groan that came from him as he pulled all the way out then drove into her primed sex.

“More!” She didn’t want him to hold back, she needed his force and needed the unleashed power of his strokes. “Take me. I’m yours,” she goaded.

Parker’s hold was bracing as he circled her waist with his arms then began to slam into her harder.

Whatever he gave she took and gave him some of her own. This Sonya Watson wasn’t the neophyte young lady he’d once been married to, she was a woman and she planned to show him.

The sex was rough, demanding and quick. Both of them slaves to the pressure of release. When her second orgasm robbed her of sight and sound, she was attuned to the hot sensation of Parkers release.

His thrusts turned slow…steady pulling forth every tremor of delight.

“You provoke a man to insanity.” His voice was gruff and sexy.

“What do you think you do to me?”

His kiss was soft, but no less enticing as he walked them through the house and into the room. He lay down, keeping her on top of him.

She looked at the sky blue comforter beneath him and frowned. “You know we’re in the wrong room.”

“No we’re not. I plan to love you in every room of this house today. We hit up the kitchen, now we’ll do it in the guest bedroom.” He brought his thumb to her clit and began making seductive circles around it.

Pressing her knees wider she gave him more room to touch her as she rested lower on his hardening rod inside of her. “Then where?” she moaned.

“Maybe the shower…or I’ll bend you over the back of the couch and make you scream and your neighbors come knocking.”

“Not if I have you yelling first.” She stared down at him as she rose then lowered herself and took him all the way in.

The fingers of his free hand dug into her thigh as he let loose a string of naughty words. Hearing them shocked and excited her. Their relationship this time around was different and she was looking forward to getting to know Parker the man.

  Chapter Thirteen

After hours of having sex, he and Sonya had reheated breakfast to satisfy their growling stomachs. They just curled up on the couch to watch a movie they’d streamed onto her television. It was almost seven o’clock at night when the phone rang.

Sonya glanced in the direction of her cell on the coffee table, but didn’t move from his chest. “Do I have to get that?”

He could hear the sleepiness of her voice. Soon this movie would be watching her. He stifled a yawn, him too. “Nope. On lazy Sundays you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”

  The insistent ringing continued.

“They probably will just call back.” She exhaled and lifted her upper body from him to peer at the display. She frowned as she reached for it.

As she picked it up, he could see that it was a number out of D.C.

He pressed the pause button. The action on the screen froze.

“Hello.” She listened for a moment. “It’s fine Agent Williams, you weren’t disturbing Parker and I.” She glanced at him and rolled her eyes.

Parker shook his head. It aggravated him that the Feds were spending time on surveillance of Sonya’s activities instead of using the man-hours to find the criminal behind it all.

“You did? Was it some computer glitch?” Her expression went annoyed to apprehensive as she listened. “I’m sorry—” her voice broke. “Can you repeat that again?”

He sat up, lowering his legs from the ottoman as he waiting to see what had upset her.

  “Yes. Thank you. I will.”

“What’s up?” He barely waited the seconds it took her to press the call end button.

Her hands were shaking as she tried to place the phone back on the table. She missed and the device clattered against the side before falling with a soft thud to the carpet.

He grabbed her hand. “Sonya, talk to me.”

She glanced at him with water flooding her hazel eyes and ready to spill. “Someone’s trying to kill…me.” Her voice was low and squeaky like a mouse.

“What are you talking about? Why would they want to do that?”

When she closed her eyes, the ocean of tears raced down her cheeks. “I don’t know.” She shook her head, left to right, right to left, as if she were unable to stop.

Cupping her face, he tried to keep her steady and calm her. “Tell me what Agent Williams said.”

Sniffing, she opened her eyes and looked at him. “He said the break line on my car was cut.”

“Maybe it broke. Even newer model cars have manufacturing errors. There are recalls all the time.” He was saying the words more for his benefit then hers. The thought of the accident the other night even possibly causing Sonya’s death, especially deliberately, he didn’t know how to handle it. With the person responsible for it not before him, he felt angry and helpless.

“No. There was a thumb-size section removed from it. Whoever did it wanted to ensure the line was severed good.” More tears fell. “Williams thinks I know something. But, what?”

Dragging her into his arms he held her tight.

Each cry that shook her body tore at his heart. Not having the words that would take all of this away or make it easier for her, he continued to rub her back.

When she’d quieted down with a hiccup her and there, he said, “I’m moving in.”

She sat up and gazed at him, her face red and swollen from crying. “I can’t ask you to do that. Besides, Williams said instead of having a tag on me, they would actual assign an officer to me.”

“The FBI will do their job.” He took her hands in his. “And I’ll handle my responsibility. You. I need to know your safe.” He lifted one of her hands then placed a kiss along her knuckles. “Please, don’t fight me on this, Sonya.”

  Holding his gaze
, she nodded. “Okay.”

That one word relieved some of the pressure from his chest. “What do you want to do with your car?”

“I don’t want to get in it ever again.” She shivered. “I feel violated knowing someone was touching my car. Maybe even in it.” She placed a hand on her stomach and her face became ashen as if she was going to be sick.

“You don’t have to. In a minute I’ll call a tow truck company and have it taken to a dealership tomorrow. After I get off work I’ll go with you to get a new one.”

For the first time since the agent called there was a spark of light in her eyes. “You’d do that for me?”

He brushed her wild waves away from her face and tucked the strands behind her ear. “I’d do anything for you. Never forget that.”

Leaning into him, she kissed him. The touch of her lips to his was brief, but he was grateful for it.

“Write down where they took your car for me and what vehicle you think you want to get, so I’ll know what dealership to have it transported. While I’m talking to Triple A, you can call your insurance company now that there’s a full report of what happened.”

“I will.” She rose and left the room. Moments later she came out of her office with two sheets of paper and two pens. One set she handed to him while she went into the kitchen with her phone and the other paper.

Looking down at the paper, he saw she’d already written the information he needed. Before making his call, he closed his eyes and just breathed. There was a killer in the city who wanted to take Sonya’s life. He’d barely survived when she’d left him five years ago, but she’d still been a part of the world. If she was actually gone.

Fear like an icicle slid down his spine, a hard, painful shiver stole his breath.

He’d give his life for hers before he let that happen.

She had just re-entered his life, he couldn’t lose her.

Three days later, Sonya was pulling into her driveway loving her new SUV. She’d had it since Monday night and had not stopped smiling over it. She tried not the think about why she’d had to get it, but looked on the bright side. This ride was an upgrade from her four-year-old car she’d purchased before driving down from D.C. to Charlotte to start at the Queen Metropolitan Museum. Parker had helped out a lot, negotiating with the salesmen and finance guy for the best deal. After they drove off the lot, she followed him to his house for a suitcase of clothes. He’d meant what he said about moving in with her.
