Dana licked her lips and saw a flash of fire in his lightening-blue eyes. If I had more experience I’d touch him. But she hesitated. The last man she had an intimate relationship with had said her lovemaking was awkward and uninspiring.

Steel showed no such hesitation. His hand cupped the side of her face. “You’re beautiful.” He removed the scarf holding her hair back. Her blonde hair tumbled to her shoulders. His fingers rubbed the strands. “Silky, and you have a fresh scent of the sea and something else.” He sniffed once more. “I smell a hint of citrus.”

“You know your fragrances. It’s orange.”

“My mother loves perfumes. She must have twenty bottles. Dad told her if she didn’t stop buying so many they’d have to open a shop to get rid of them.” Steel put his hand behind her neck and brought her body against his. He bent his head and kissed her lips.

Without thinking, her arms wrapped around him. His teeth nibbled at her lower lip. Then his tongue slid inside her mouth. He stroked and caressed the interior. A sense of excitement built as Dana let herself relax and open to him.

Her body rested on his wide, muscular chest. Reaching behind her, Steel unfastened her bra and threw it aside. He cupped his hands around her full breasts. Then he licked across the peaks and sucked on each one. Exquisite pleasure spread to every cell in her body.

Dana managed to pull the snaps in his cowboy shirt apart. She rubbed her nose across his soft chest hair, breathing in his masculine scent. She licked his nipples, and he drew her closer till his cock throbbed against her abdomen.

She undid his belt and jeans and managed to push them and his undershorts down. Steel kicked them aside. Dana pushed him to sit on the edge of the bed. She knelt between his legs and took his cock deep in her mouth. This time he groaned and spread his fingers through the strands of her hair.

“Damn, baby. That shot a joyous thrill straight to my brain.”

Dana continued to move up and down the length of his dick. Her tongue licked his silky hardness.

Steel gripped her upper arms. “Wait, darlin’. I want to be snug in your pussy when I let go and come. I’m tethering on the edge now.”

He helped her up and lifted her to the middle of the bed. Reaching for his jeans he pulled out a condom package and sheathed his cock.

Then he joined her on the bed, wrapped his legs and arms around her, and held her in a tight embrace. He kissed her face all over before starting on her neck. She scrunched her neck trying to get it out of his reach.

“Ah, you’re ticklish.” He had a mischievous grin on his face. He burrowed his face between her shoulder and neck. Then he tickled and kissed her until she pleaded for relief. She shook with laughter.

“I’ll get you back. Wait and see. It’ll be when you least expect it,” Dana warned.

Steel licked across the spot where her heart beat strong against the translucent skin. He took his time tasting her shoulders and down to her breasts.

“These are gorgeous jewels.” He bit lightly on her rosy nipple. “And you taste good, too.”

His sultry voice was like a shot of cognac. It warmed her and awakened a salacious, ardent appetite to touch and taste him. She ran her fingers through his brown hair. When he glanced at her face, his blue eyes were dark as night.

Then he moved further down her body. His lips blew kisses across her abdomen. At her mound he breathed in deeply and continued to kiss around the area and between her thighs. His touch seductively raised her passion higher than it had ever been.

Dana gasped for breath. His lips brushed along the inner part of her thigh, and he kissed the sensitive spot behind her knee.

A feverish hunger had her calling out his name. “Steel, take me now.”

“In time. I don’t want to disappoint you.” His sexy mouth curved slightly.

“I’m going to shatter into a million pieces if you don’t hurry.” She groaned out the words.

“Then I’ll put you back together again.” He separated her folds and licked hard against her clit.

The wave started at her feet, rushed up her legs, and left her breathless when it rolled through her body. She yelled, and Steel quickly thrust his long, hard cock inside her weeping pussy. Her body shook with another rapturous orgasm.

Steel plunged in and out faster. Her pussy clenched his cock tight until he reached his pinnacle. His body stiffened, and he threw his head back as her pussy rippled around his throbbing cock.

When Steel could move, he kissed her mouth and rolled to the side. Heavy breathing was the only sound in the room. Finally, Steel rose up on his elbow. “Darlin’, you scare me. I’m not sure how I’ll recover if you leave us for the big city. I had the most sensual, joyous experience with you.”

Dana touched the side of his face. “I don’t know what to say. I’ve never been as sensitive and aware with anyone. But I can’t make promises I may not be able to keep. My personal life is in too much of a mess for me to consider making any important decisions. And you and Chayton want a threesome with the woman in your life.”

“Talk to Sara, Gavin’s nurse. She married two men. At first, she had some difficulty like you with the idea.”

“I will. It’s late. If I don’t get some sleep, I’ll need lots of coffee at work tomorrow.”

“Let me stay. I promise to behave and only hold you close.”

She studied him thoughtfully for a moment. His eyes held a hint of humor and tenderness.

“I’ve never slept all night with a man.” She hardly spoke above a whisper, but he heard her.

“There’s a first time for everything. Why not begin tonight?”

“You’ll behave? I have to sleep.”

“Turn on your side. I’ll lay close and put my arm around you.”

Dana did as he said. He pulled her into the curve of his body and wrapped his arm around her waist.

  “Sleep.”

The gentleness in his tone lulled her into a state of relaxation.

  Chapter Seven

Steel knew when she went to sleep. Her body fully relaxed against his. His cock had become aroused, and he expected to stay awake. But he didn’t care. Being able to hold her close and breathe in her fresh, sweet scent pleasured him in a different way.

He and Chayton had to convince her to stay. No woman had ever touched him as deeply as she did tonight. His orgasm had come swiftly and was the most impassioned he’d experienced.

But it wasn’t all sex. He liked her, too. Her smile warmed his heart, and he loved to hear her laugh. He’d noticed her pale green eyes shone like emeralds when she was excited, and when they had made love.

Before, he’d been the one who could walk away from relationships. He tried not to hurt the woman he’d been dating, but he knew fairly quickly when it wasn’t going to work.

I guess I’m in the opposite position this time. I’m worried she’ll decide our lifestyle isn’t for her.

Dana stirred. He whispered, “I love you,” and rubbed her neck. Soon she snored, not loud, but she definitely hadn’t heard him. Good, she wasn’t ready to accept those words. That he said them surprised him.

Light shining in his eyes woke him. Sometime during the early morning he’d fallen asleep. He held Dana close. Her soft breathing indicated she hadn’t awakened. Glancing at her bedside clock he saw it was seven. He never slept this late.

Moving carefully he got out of the bed, got his clothes off the floor, and tiptoed to the bathroom. He was glad it was outside the bedroom. He’d let her sleep until he was dressed. Otherwise he might climb back in the bed with her, and they both had to work today.

A quick shower and he dressed. He peeked in the bedroom just as Dana started to stir. In the kitchen he found the coffee and put it on. When he went to the bedroom to wake her, she sat on the side of the bed.

  “Good morning, beautiful.”

“You ought to have your vision checked. I’m a mess, but you’re dressed for work.”

“It took all my strength to leave yo
u and shower. If I’d stayed I might have broken my promise and made love to you.”

“You promised to let me sleep. You did.”

“Meaning you wouldn’t be averse to morning loving? I’ll remember for next time.”

  “I haven’t said there’d be a next time.”

“There will be,” he said with quiet emphasis.

“You can be an annoyingly, overconfident male.”

Steel shrugged. “What can I say, but that’s me.”

He grinned and kissed her lightly on the lips. “Get your shower. I have coffee perking. If your refrigerator wasn’t empty, I’d cook breakfast. Instead we’ll go to the diner.”

“You’ve got a deal. I won’t be long. I’m expected at work by nine or before.”

Steel watched her walk toward the bathroom. “You have one sexy butt, my darlin’.” He heard a deep, sensual chuckle.

“You let her get away, and now they’re both gone?” Addison Gregor asked the two men standing in front of him.

“Yes sir.” The older man spoke up.

“Find them. Get in contact with our men inside the police department. They have resources to use since we can’t get the information from her friend.” He frowned and leaned forward. “Do you understand?” When he shouted, the two jumped.

“Boss, the two women tricked us,” the younger man said. “We were certain her friend helped her, and we’d been following her since the Wynters woman disappeared. They had to have found a professional who knew how to help them get away. I can’t wait to get hold of them.”

“I don’t want excuses. I want Dana Wynters and you two let her escape. Don’t disappoint me again.” His words held a warning.

“Yes sir, we won’t fail.” They rushed out of the room.

Addison Gregor leaned back his chair and stared at the closed door. “Basil, follow them,” he said to the tall, silent man at his side. “See what they do. When they find her, you and I are going with them to wherever she’s hiding.” He hit his fist against his desk. “Damn it. No woman leads me on such a chase or rejects me. I’ll gladly see her suffer.”

Gavin stood in Dana’s office doorway. “The first week was busier than usual. It’ll calm down after this. The good people of Triple Creeks Township have satisfied their curiosity.”

“I hope so. I’m exhausted. Thanks for taking call this first weekend. I know you must be tired of it having been the only doctor for these past months. What happened to your other partner?”

“He fell in love and moved to the town where she lived. It’s about a hundred miles from here.”

  “Ah, that’s understandable.”

“If you decide to marry, fall in love with a local,” Gavin teased.

“You may not want me here at the end of the three months.”

“No, I can see already you’ll fit right in. My concern is you may not stay.”

“I do like the work. You can take more time and know the patients better.”

“Do you have plans for the weekend?”

  “A few. Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

  “See you Monday.”

After Gavin left, Dana went in search for his nurse, Sara. She was straightening the supply room.

“Hi, Sara. I appreciate all your help this week.”

  “We’re glad to have you.”

“May I ask a question? It’s sort of personal. If you don’t want to answer, I’ll understand.”

“You have me curious. Ask away.”

“Steel said you’re in a threesome marriage.”

“I am. We’ve been married for five years.”

“I have to admit to being shocked when I first heard about the marriages. Mrs. Sidney told me.”

“She would. She’s the biggest gossip in town, but she doesn’t mean any harm.”

“Steel said you were wary of the idea at first.”

“Let’s have coffee in the break room and sit and talk. All the others have left by now.” She led the way down to the end of the short hall. Sara poured out the old coffee and perked a small amount for them.

“Are you interested in Steel and Chayton? They’ve been popular with most of the ladies in town, but they hadn’t shown an interest in any particular one.”

“I like them, too much. They want us to be a threesome. I’m not sure I can wrap my mind around that idea. If seems so foreign.”

“Can you choose between them?” Sara poured the coffee, unplugged the pot, and brought the cups to the table. She sat across from Dana.

Dana looked down. “No,” she finally said.

“I was in the same predicament and had the same type of questions in my mind. My father and mother are still unhappy with my decision, but they’re gradually warming up to my husbands.”

“Then you aren’t from this area?”

“No. I came on vacation with a friend who grew up here. The irony is she’s working in Minneapolis, and I stayed on at Triple Creeks Township.”

“Have you ever regretted your decision? Don’t answer if I’m getting too personal.”

“I don’t mind answering. Not even for a second have I wondered if I’d made a mistake. My husbands love me. They’re attentive and gorgeous.” Sara grinned. “Walk out with me and meet whichever one has come to drive me home.”

Dana got her purse, and they walked out the backdoor. Sara put in the safety code. She turned. “Ah, both of them came.”

Two tall, handsome men walked to Sara. They both gave her a hug and then looked in Dana’s direction.

“You must be the new doctor.” The sandy-haired man stepped forward, shook her hand, and introduced himself. Then the blond man did the same.

“Dana had some questions about threesomes,” Sara told her husbands. “I told her about my own reservations and how happy we are now.”

Both men stood close to her. They nodded at Dana. The taller, blond man said, “She’s right.”

“It was nice meeting you. I won’t keep you any longer. See you Monday, Sara.”

Dana walked to her car and got in. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Sara in the car between her husbands. One leaned down, kissed her, and whispered in her ear. A flash of jealousy surprised Dana. Do I want what she has?

  I think I might.

Her phone rang as she started the car. It was an unfamiliar number. She hesitated but then thought it might be Angie. She and Flint Rikward were on their way to South Dakota. Dana answered.

“Thank goodness, I got you.” Angie’s voice sounded stressed.

  “Where are you?”

“We just arrived at Russell Elden’s ranch.” She lowered her voice. “They’re both handsome and out of my league. But they expect me to stay here with them. You have to rescue me.”

“It sounds to me like you might want to stay, but fear they won’t like you.”

“They’re overwhelming. No way would they be interested, and I’d get hurt another time.”

“Take a leap of faith, Angie.”

This time Angie’s voice got lower. “I like them both.”

“Don’t worry they have threesomes in this town.”

“Threesomes,” Angie’s voice screeched over the phone.

“I was shocked, too. But I’m starting to consider the idea.”

“I have to see you. You must be losing your mind.”

“Have them bring you to the Sunshine Diner for dinner. I’ll meet you there.”

  “Okay.”

Dana clicked off. Now she had to ask Steel and Chayton to join her. She licked her dry lips. Her decision to open her mind to the possibility of loving both men was almost as frightening as when she left Atlanta. Frightening and exciting.

She called Chayton and Steel’s house. Chayton answered.

“We were thinking of calling you,” Chayton said. “Are you all right after your first week at work?”

“Exhausted, but I like the work. My friend and Mr. Rikward have arrived. I thought perha
ps we three could meet them at the diner for dinner.”

  “We’d like to join you.”

“Don’t you need to check with Steel?”

“He’s right here, and I know we were both hoping to see you this weekend. How about going on a horseback ride with me tomorrow?”

“I’d enjoy seeing you and riding very much.”

“We’ll start early, say eight, and ride toward the mountains.”

“I hate getting up early. I’m so tired. Can we take the longer ride another day?”

“Sure. I have other places to show you. What time did you want to come out to the ranch?”

“Would one o’clock be too late?”

“No. It’ll give me time to work with the stallion a last time. Gavin’s coming for him later in the day.”

“I’m sure he’s excited. I’ll meet you all at the diner at seven.”

  “We’ll be there.”

When Dana hung up, her cell rang immediately. “Hello.”

“Flint and Russell like the idea of dinner out. What time shall we meet?” Angie asked.

Dana told her seven. “Are you okay?”

Whispering again, Angie said, “I’m nervous and unhappy I was dragged out here. But I’d be more scared if he’d left me behind.”

  “Was Dr. Sanders upset?”

“A bit, but he didn’t actually fire me.”

“Maybe you’ll like it here and decide to stay.”

“I doubt it. See you at seven.”

Dana stared at her phone. Angie had never cut her off so abruptly before. I can’t blame her. I got her involved in all my problems, and they spilled over onto her. After she’s rested, I hope she’ll forgive me.

“She’s where? Are you sure?” Addison asked his men.

“The detective said she was working in a doctor’s office.”

“We’ll fly to Minneapolis tomorrow and rent a car to drive the last part of the trip. Basil and I are going with you. He’ll take care of our flight reservations, the car rental, and notify you where and when to meet us in Minneapolis. You’ll take a separate flight and arrive before Basil and me. There’s no need for us to be seen together.”
