Bernie’s movements picked up in speed, and Snow closed his eyes, enjoying the sensations. Bernie kept varying the movements of both his mouth and hand, keeping Snow near the edge without letting him go over. Whenever Snow felt like he was getting close to coming, Bernie would back off again. It was a mix of extreme pleasure and a little frustration. The good kind, though. Even so, it wasn’t long before Snow’s hand drifted over to Bernie’s ass. He slapped a cheek softly, hinting at what was to come. It was all the hint Bernie needed, it appeared.

He pulled away from Snow’s cock, wiping his mouth slowly, his gaze on Snow as he did. “Don’t move.”

Snow shot the man a questioning glance as he walked away, but his silent question was answered when he heard the twin sounds of clothes being removed and the drawer beside his bed being pulled open. Less than a minute later, Bernie reappeared, naked, hard, and carrying lube and a condom. The man glanced down at the condom and frowned.

“Oh, wait.” He tossed the foil packet over his shoulder. “We don’t need that, do we?”

And almost guttural growl formed in Snow’s throat at the action, and he quickly pulled his pants down to his ankles, then sat back. Bernie raised an eyebrow.

  “Eager?” he asked.

Snow growled again. “Come here. Now.”

  “Yes, sir.”

Bernie casually flipped the lube bottle open and dripped some onto his fingers, then bent and rubbed it into Snow’s cock. He then reached behind and rubbed some into his ass, a sight that had Snow’s cock throbbing, before climbing onto the sofa, his knees either side of Snow’s thighs. Slowly he lowered himself until his warm flesh pushed against Snow’s cockhead. With a wicked grin, Bernie rocked back and forth, stimulating Snow without allowing penetration.

“How does that feel?” he asked, his voice a whisper.

Snow put his hands on Bernie’s sides, his grip firm. “It feels incredible.”

Bernie leaned into Snow’s ear. “Tell me what you want.”

“I want…” Snow swallowed and licked his dry lips. “I want you to sit on my dick,” he said. “I want to feel my cock all the way inside you.”

Bernie’s feigned casualness disappeared in a flash, replaced with a blush and a look of hunger. “Me too.”

He lowered himself until Snow felt the pressure on the end of his cock. As much as he wanted to fuck Bernie’s brains out, he wanted him to enjoy it too, so he didn’t push. He knew he was big, and he wasn’t going to spoil the night by being a bull about it.

Bernie was quicker than last time. It took only a few seconds of tentative movement before Snow’s cockhead slipped inside Bernie’s tight hole. Both men gasped simultaneously.

“God, that feels good,” Snow said, as he slid a hand around to support Bernie’s back.

“Mm,” was all Bernie seemed able to say.

With great care at first, Bernie worked himself down Snow’s shaft, taking more and more on each down stroke, then pulling off almost entirely. Snow aided the movement with his hips, extending the depth. Bernie closed his eyes and let out another long breath, but it clearly wasn’t from discomfort.

Before long they had found their rhythm, and they began to build in speed. Bernie’s ass slapped against Snow’s thighs on each down stroke, the sound only making Snow all the hornier. He looked down to watch, alternated his gaze between the penetration and Bernie’s own rock-hard cock, which bounced back and forth with every movement. He wanted to comment on the great view, but he wasn’t sure he could do anything other than growl at that moment.

“Fuck,” Bernie said, his breathing hard. “You’re so big. I…” He swallowed. “I’ve never been this full.”

By way of reply, Snow slapped him on the ass cheek, then gripped his hips once more and pulled him down hard. Bernie gasped, his eyes opened wide, then moaned.

  “Keep doing that,” he muttered.

Snow was more than happy to oblige, and thrust upwards, deep into Bernie’s ass as he pulled him down again. Bernie cried out and slapped his hands down on Snow’s shoulders for balance as Snow began to build in speed and intensity. If Bernie wanted to be fucked hard, Snow wasn’t going to say no. He gritted his jaw and slammed up again and again into Bernie’s tight asshole, filling him with his cock.

“Take it,” he said, his voice low. “Fucking take it.”

“God yes,” Bernie said. “Harder. Harder!”

In a fluid moment, Snow lifted Bernie off him, and roughly pulled him around to the side of the couch, bending him over the end. Bernie was surprised at first, but quickly caught on, and grabbed the armrest of the chair, pushing his ass up and out.

Snow gripped his own cock and slid it into position, then pushed it back where it belonged, in Bernie’s tight, hot hole. Bernie whimpered at the sudden movement, and gained a stinging slap on his ass cheek in response.

“This ass is mine,” Snow said, as he roughly pushed himself deep inside.

“It’s yours,” Bernie said, nodding emphatically with closed eyes. “Fuck, yes, it’s yours!”

Snow slapped his ass again, just as hard as the first time, and Bernie yelped. The sound only turned Snow on more, and he pulled Bernie back onto his shaft until the man had taken his entire length.

“I’m going to fuck you until you scream,” he snarled.

  “Yes…” Bernie cried. “It’s yours, it’s yours!”

“Now you know what I am,” Snow continued, as if Bernie hadn’t spoke, “I don’t have to hold back.”

Bernie could only whimper and nod in reply as Snow delivered another slap.

“I’m going to fuck you, come in your face…” Snow caressed the slapped cheek. “And then I’m going to start over.”

Snow built to a feverish pace, pausing only once to apply more lube. He was done with talking, he wasn’t sure he could speak. His mind was running on instinct only. He wanted Bernie. Needed Bernie. He couldn’t imagine a time when he didn’t have Bernie in his life.

They built to a feverish pace, and even Snow was beginning to breathe heavily. Even so, he pushed himself on until he could go no longer. As he felt the end nearing, he reached around and gripped Bernie’s cock, making the man gasp in surprise. Working the man’s shaft as fast as his own was being worked, Bernie soon came with a cry. Snow worked out every drop, then pulled out of Bernie and pulled the man around with a quick movement.

“Do it!” Bernie cried. “Come for me!”

Snow jerked his shaft hard, aiming for Bernie. Seconds later he grunted as he came, his thick load splattering across Bernie’s waiting face, hitting him in the chin and jaw. Snow kept jerking until he physically couldn’t continue, then sagged to his knees and blew out a long breath.

The horniness faded a little, allowing Snow’s brain to start working again. He smiled at Bernie, who was sat on the end of the sofa, breathing hard. Bernie returned the smile and shook his head.

“I thought it was good the first time, but that was way better.”

Snow chuckled and stood. “Like I said, I was holding back the first time. I didn’t want you thinking I was superhuman or anything.”

Bernie rolled his eyes. “So, how long does a shifter need before they can go again?”

“Personally? The length of a very quick shower.”

Bernie laughed and took Snow’s proffered hand, allowing himself to be pulled up. As one they walked to the bathroom.

  Chapter Fifteen

Snow awoke the next morning feeling better than he had in months. Not only had he slept through the night, but he’d slept peacefully, too. It had been glorious, and he knew the reason, he realized as he looked over to Bernie.

He slept beside him, breathing softly, and Snow was careful not to wake him as he climbed out of bed. He stretched wide and shook his limbs to loosen them, then padded into the main room in search of food. Last night’s antics had left him with quite the appetite.

Early morning light shone through a gap in the curtains that covered the balcony, catching
his eyes as he passed. With a smile he threw the curtains wide and opened the doors to let the fresh air in, then headed into the kitchen. Unsure of what Bernie would want to eat, Snow decided on the classics, and grabbed the required supplies from the refrigerator. Within a few minutes he had two pans heating on the burners, the toaster working, and was adding coffee to the machine.

Either the sound or the smell woke Bernie. Snow heard the man shift on the bed, followed by the thump as his feet touched the bedroom floor. He appeared in the door moments later, dressed in one of Snow’s bathrobes.

“Morning,” Snow called, grinning. “I’m making scrambled eggs, sausages, and toast. Sound good?”

Bernie nodded sleepily. “Sounds perfect. Mind if I grab a shower?”

“Go ahead. I’ll call you when it’s ready.”

The man turned again, and Snow couldn’t help but admire the man’s ass beneath the thin robe. With a chuckle, he turned back to the cooking. It didn’t take long, but he let the food stay warm in the pan for a while so Bernie could have a longer shower. It also gave Snow time to work out what he was going to tell the man about the ambush. He had to tell him something, since there was a chance—albeit a slim one—that he wouldn’t be returning afterwards.

The timing stank. Bernie had only just learned of Snow’s true form, and now he was going to find out that there was also the beginnings of a street war between shifters and witches. Most dramatic revelations in relationships were along the lines of, “I once banged two guys at once,” rather than, “I’m in a pack of shifters that may well have to kill people tonight.”

As he usually did, he decided the direct approach was best. It would wait until after breakfast, though.

He called Bernie, then took the plates out onto the balcony. The sun was starting to warm the area, and the clear skies meant for a great view. Bernie joined him, sadly fully dressed, and sat opposite at the small table.

Snow gestured for the man to eat, then did the same. They both ate quickly, and before long they were onto the drinks, which they sipped slowly as they watched the world go by below.

  “What is it?”

Snow glanced at Bernie, surprised. “I hadn’t said anything yet.”

“But you were about to.” Bernie put his cup down on the table. “You were frowning.”

“Ah.” Snow chuckled. “That’s the problem with smiling all the time. People notice when you stop.”

“So what’s wrong?” Bernie’s eyes flickered downwards. “Is it me?”

“God, no. You’re great. Perfect, even.” Snow reached across the table and squeezed the man’s hand. “It’s something about me. About what I do.”

  “Another bombshell?”

“Perhaps not as large as the first, but yeah.”

“Then tell me.” Bernie’s smile returned. “I’m a big boy. I can handle it.”

“I’m a member of a group of shifters, known as a pack. Did I mention that already?” Snow shrugged. “Anyway. Most of the time, it’s more of a social group than anything else. Peaceful, supportive, that sort of thing.”

  “But sometimes it’s not.”

Snow nodded. “There have been attacks on shifters that aren’t affiliated with a pack. Small groups of humans and witches armed with weapons.”

“Wait, witches? Witches are real, too?”

“Witches, warlocks, vampires, zombies, demons…” Snow rolled his hand in a circle. “The list goes on. I’ll tell you about that another time, though.”

  “Sorry. Go on.”

“Well, these attacks have been increasing, and my pack, along with the other major pack in the area, have discovered that the group in question is meeting with their leader. Tonight.”

“And you’re going to try and stop them.”

It wasn’t a question, Snow noticed. Bernie’s smile had faded, replaced with a look of resignation. Snow nodded.

“We’ll be attempting to ambush them tonight. Surprise and strength are on our side, and we have warlocks to distract the witches, but we don’t know how many people we’ll be facing. They could be ready for us, too.”

“So you’re saying you might not come back.”

Snow nodded again, then squeezed Bernie’s hand tight. “It’s a slim chance, but it’s still a chance. You’ve seen that I can handle myself, and I’m confident we’ll have the element of surprise.”

“But nothing’s certain.” Bernie held Snow’s gaze, then looked away. “If you’re expecting me to say I’m not worried, you’re out of luck.”

“I know. It’s something I have to do, though. I can’t let these attacks continue. Some of the shifters were friends of mine. Even if they weren’t, though, I’d still be there with my pack.”

Bernie was silent for what felt like an age. In the end, though, he met Snow’s eyes again and smiled.

“I understand,” he said. “You do it because that’s who you are. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be you, and I wouldn’t be with you.”

Snow returned the smile. “So you’re okay?”

“I’m okay.” Bernie gripped Snow’s hand. “Promise me you’ll be careful, though.”

  “I promise.”

  * * * *

Bernie got back to his place a little before lunchtime, and was greeted by Nadia at the door. He’d not intended to tell her anything about last night, but she could tell from his face that something was wrong, and after the first question his resolve broke down and he told her everything.

She took it better than he had. Probably because she wasn’t dating the guy. Still, her confidence that Snow would be okay helped bolster Bernie’s own belief. He’d seen firsthand how easily he dealt with a couple of thugs, after all, and he wasn’t going alone. Far from it. Even so, the ball of worry in his stomach remained.

“Worry is good,” Nadia said, as she patted him on the knee. “It means you care about him.”

“I guess it does, yeah.” Bernie smiled for the first time since he’d left Snow. “He’ll be okay.”

  “And so will you. Drink?”

Bernie shook his head. “You’re awfully relaxed, given that I just told you my boyfriend is a shapeshifter. Shouldn’t you be thinking I’m crazy or something?”

She raised an eyebrow. “Would you like me to think you’re crazy?”

  “Well no, but—”

“Strange things happen every day, Bernie, and in the last few years it seems like more and more is happening that makes no sense. Knowing that at least part of it is due to the supernatural is…” She shrugged. “Soothing? I don’t know what word I mean, but it’s nice to have some of the strange explained, you know?”

Bernie nodded. “I think I get what you mean. There are much worse things than shapeshifters, after all.”

“Exactly. A shapeshifter, according to how you describe it, is still a human, with a human’s mind. They just have extra abilities. That means that most of them, like most humans, are good people.”

“That’s a nice way to look at it.” Bernie grinned. “And the extra abilities come in handy in the bedroom. There’s something to be said about a man that can be ready to go again thirty seconds after he’s come.”

Nadia laughed and slapped Bernie on the arm. “Now I want one.”

After some cajoling, Bernie gave Nadia a full account of the previous night, then went over what he’d learned about shapeshifters again. It felt good to talk to someone as in the dark as he was.

The worries about tonight didn’t go away, though.

  Chapter Sixteen

Other than the alpha, Snow was the first to arrive at the agreed-upon rendezvous, a small disused cabin a couple of miles into the forest on the east of town. The place was owned by Creek, but he’d never done anything with it, claiming to like the rundown appearance, and saying that all forests should have a few broken old buildings in them. When it finally fell down, he’d said, he’d build an identical cabin.

So far only one wall was sagging, and only just. Snow stepped inside the buil
ding, skirting around a sizable hole in the floorboards, and joined Creek by the back wall while they waited for the others.

“Judging by the smell of sex, I’m guessing either Bernie took the news well, or you didn’t tell him.”

  Snow smirked. “The first one.”

“Good, good.” Creek slapped Snow on the back. “When’s the big day?”

Snow chuckled along with his boss at the joke. Secretly, though, he was starting to wonder whether the relationship with Bernie would manage to go that far. After all, he’d taken the news about Snow’s true self well, and even been okay about the ambush. They were certainly compatible everywhere else, too. It was a long way off, if it came at all, but perhaps there would be a day where they’d at least consider it.

He hasn’t even said he loves me yet. And why should he? Snow chastised himself. They’d been together for a week, that was all. Yes, they were going great, but it was still damn soon. Then why do I feel like I love him?

He was pulled out of his musings by the footfalls of two approaching wolves. One, an older shifter by the name of Michael, deigned to stay in his wolf form, but the other wolf moved around the back of the cabin. After a few moments of uncomfortable sounds, June strolled in the cabin door, naked and panting softly from the change.

“You could have brought clothes, you know,” Creek said, his eyebrow raised.

She replied with a lascivious wink, adding more fuel to the rumor that the pair were banging like bunnies behind closed doors. Snow greeted her with a quick hug, then scratched Michael between the ears. It would seem demeaning to a human, but Snow knew from experience that a good head scratch was close to heavenly.

“How many are we?” Snow asked, turning back to Creek. “Any from Brook’s pack?”

“A dozen of each, plus a few non-pack members, and our warlock friends,” Creek said, his happiness clear. “Should make life easier. We’ll discuss the finer details once everyone has arrived, but the basic idea is that we let the warlocks throw down some magic-suppressing mojo on the witches and the leader, then come in from every angle, half in human form, half in animal. They won’t know what hit them.”
