“I’ll be waiting in the living room for you two love birds. Might I suggest a shower?”

Right. We probably stank to high heavens. And not of the wilderness. No, Addie and I smelled like we’d been fucking for hours. I waited for him to walk back into the house before I grabbed the clothes he left and followed Addie inside.

“Bathroom’s this way,” she gestured, and I followed.

We avoided the living room entirely and went to the bathroom attached to her bedroom upstairs. I sniffed in satisfaction—everything in here smelled perfectly, wonderfully, like my mate. My cock, insatiable and hungry for her, hardened to the point of pain to be surrounded by her intoxicating scent.

I followed my mate into the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and whistled when she spied the mating mark. The large, purple bruise would be on her pale skin forever. I grinned and got a glimpse of mine. She did a number on me. My wolf swelled with pride. I admired the curve of Addie’s ass as she leaned over the bathtub to run the shower.

“Well, that was embarrassing,” she said, stepping back to let the water warm up.

  “It could have been worse.”

She ran her fingers under the spray of the shower, testing the temperature. She smirked before flicking the water at me. Droplets landed on my cheeks, reminding me of the waterfall we’d mated under not so long ago. My cock twitched and Addie’s blue eyes grew dark with desire. She stepped into the shower, letting the water sluice down her full, firm breasts.

She cupped them in her hands, squeezing and kneading them as they glistened under the water. Addie never broke eye contact with me as she traced a hand down her stomach to cup her sex. Even through the water, I could smell her need.

“Watch out, little mate,” I growled, stepping into the shower. The water pelted my skin as I backed her up against the wall. “If you tease me, I just might lose control.”

Addie’s pupils dilated and she pressed her slippery globes against my chest. I thought my cock would rocket off my body, I was so hard and desperate to be inside of her.

“Maybe I want you to lose control,” she said, completely lost to the heat as I was.

“Be careful what you wish for.”

I got to my knees before her and buried my face between her legs, relishing the way my mate groaned long and low. I could feast on her honey for hours, days. Her taste, her scent, but above all else, her pleasure, drove me wild. I couldn’t stop from touching myself as I lapped at her swollen clit like a man starved. Her gentle curl of hair tickled my nose as I feasted on her. Addie moaned my name as her whole body shuddered.

Her sweet, delicious nectar flowed, and I couldn’t wait any longer. Addie slid down the wall of the shower, weak from her orgasm, and I pulled her into my chest. I kissed her, hard, and she was gasping when I pulled back. I stared into those amazing sapphire eyes and pulled her with me as I rested back in the tub.

I sat cross-legged while Addie wrapped her legs around my waist, her arms around my neck. The water poured over us, steam rising to collect on the walls. She moved closer and my cock sought the heat of her pussy. I slid in and we both moaned our pleasure before kissing. I invaded her mouth as I moved inside of her, and thought this had to be heaven.

No one deserved bliss like this. Except for my mate. And I was going to make sure she got a taste of heaven every day for the rest of our lives. Addie rocked faster on my cock, and I broke our kiss to bury my face in her neck. She clung to me tightly, bouncing up and down on my lap.

“Addie,” I moaned her name into the wet skin of her neck, unable to hold back any longer.

My hips bucked as I came deep, deep inside of her. I bit the mark again, breaking the skin, and felt Addie’s walls convulsing around my cock. Her whole body shook with the force of her climax and I held her close as she trembled. She peppered kisses all over my face. When she pulled back to look at me, I was blown away by the love and beauty I saw in her.

“We should probably hurry up,” she giggled.

“Right, showers are for getting clean.”

“God, I could fuck you all day long.”

  “Don’t tempt me, Addie…”

After the shower that ended up taking much longer than it needed to because we couldn’t keep our hands off each other, Addie and I met Vincent downstairs. We sat on a sofa across from him, none of us able to ignore the obvious smell of rotten meat.

“I left the turkey out last night,” Addie said, blushing. “I was getting ready to brine it when Zander…”

Vincent put up a hand in front of him.

“No need for details,” he said. “I’m happy for you both. Congratulations.”

Addie beamed, and even I smiled wide. I wasn’t used to feeling so happy.

“But it’s Thanksgiving and we are short a turkey,” Vincent added, no small amount of amusement in his voice. “Now, I’m in favor of Zander and I heading out to hunt down a bird before anyone’s the wiser. What do you think?”

“That’s a great idea,” Addie blurted out for the both of us. “I have a lot of work to do this morning before everyone gets here, or else I’d come too.”

My wolf was eager and ready to hunt for my mate.

“I’m ready when you are, Vincent.”

“Let’s go,” he said, getting up.

Vincent knew enough to give us a few minutes to say good bye as he waited in the yard. It was ridiculous, but I was not happy to leave Addie alone. She was completely unprotected and vulnerable here in her own home. I knew how stupid I sounded, but my wolf was convinced horrible danger would befall her if I wasn’t here.

“Don’t worry,” she rested her forehead against mine. “I’ll be fine. Besides, I’ve been hearing turkeys for days now. They can’t be too far.”

“I won’t rest until I’ve found you the biggest, fattest turkey in the forest.”

Addie smiled and kissed me. I felt all her happiness through our bond, and knew she also felt mine.

“Don’t be long,” she whispered. “I don’t think I can stand to be away from you for too long right now.”

“I couldn’t bear to leave you for that long. We’re in a hurry, we’ll be quick.”

It was ridiculous, but parting with her felt like I was leaving a part of my body behind. It was unnatural and my wolf didn’t like it. Neither did I. I managed to tear myself from her, and walked into the yard, where a big, black wolf waited for me. I left my clothes on the porch and shifted.

I sniffed the air. Addie was right, the smell of turkey was all over these woods. Vincent smelled it too. He ran off after the smell, and I followed my Alpha into the woods.

Less than an hour later, and we were back. I had the dead bird in my jaws. I targeted and killed the best bird we’d seen. Vincent had stood back and allowed me to claim the hunt, like he knew better than to get between a male wanting to provide for his mate. Addie was waiting for us on the porch.

She smiled, big and bright, and ran up to me, her shoulders level with my snout. Her fingers ran through my fur and rubbed me between the ears before she buried her face in my fur. My wolf rumbled with contentment.

“This bird’s bigger than the one I bought,” she said, looking at the turkey in my mouth. “It’s perfect!”

My tail wagged ferociously. I was filled with pride to have brought her such a fine kill. Vincent loped over to his pile of clothes, shifted and pulled on his jeans. Addie walked with me to the porch, where my clothes were waiting for me. She took the turkey from me and wasted no time plucking the feathers.

“Once you’re done,” Vincent said, buttoning up his flannel, “I’ll gut it.”

“Thanks, Dad,” she said, “for everything.”

“Let me know when you’re done,” Vincent winked at her before heading into the house.

I walked up behind Addie and wrapped my arms around her, kissing the mating mark on her neck. She quivered and I felt her body go soft in my arms. She stopped plucking the bird and I held her, swaying softly in the mo
rning’s light. There was nothing more, nothing better, than this feeling with my mate in my arms.

“I love you,” I whispered into her ear.

A happy little growl rumbled from her chest and she leaned her head back on my shoulder.

“I love you too. I always have.”

I kissed her once, softly, or else I knew the heat would send my cock into an undeniable rage. As it was, I was already hard and ready just being this close to her. I left her on the porch to finish her work before I was too overcome to leave. Walking inside, I saw Vincent in the kitchen, peeling potatoes. He handed me a peeler, and I stood next to him at the sink, getting started on my own potato.

“Be good to her,” Vincent said, his potato peel coiling round and round.

“She’s my mate,” I said, simply. It was enough explanation.

  “Sadie is thrilled.”

  “You told her?”

  “She felt it.”

  “Through the bond?”

“Exactly. You’ll find that over time it becomes less like broad strokes of emotion and more like concrete thoughts. I swear I can hear her voice in my head sometimes. Especially when we’ve shifted.”

“Is it hard, not being able to be with her wolf unless it’s the Full Moon?” I asked.

It was easy to forget Sadie was a half-human. She couldn’t shift unless there was a Full Moon.

“No,” he said, grabbing another potato. “She’s perfect to me, in every way.”

I looked out the window and watched Addie. Her face was red from the exertion and she was covered in feathers. Each moment I looked at her, she was more gorgeous than the last.

“I know what you mean,” I said in a daze as I watched her.

  Vincent just chuckled.

Dad just left, having prepared the bird for cooking. I knew it wouldn’t be close to what an overnight brine could have done, but I planned to soak the bird for a few hours. It was a fresh kill, and I hoped that would help it absorb the flavors.

I put the bird in the refrigerator and wasn’t even able to turn around before I felt strong arms thudding me into a hard chest. My body flared in response, my breasts aching to be touched, wetness pooling between my thighs. They say the mating heat can last for days, and while nothing matching the zest of the Full Moon, newly mated couples simply couldn’t go long without mating.

That was kind of the point of going into a heat.

Naturally, I had to be hosting Thanksgiving dinner when I fell into heat with Zander. Of all the times, all the years we’d known one another, it just had to be this particular Moon that set us off. We just had to get through today, and then we’d be fine.

I moaned, feeling Zander’s hands run underneath my shirt. The hard press of his erection against my ass was more than I could bear. I heard the sound of his zipper. He hiked my skirt up to my hips and I clung to the handles of the refrigerator as Zander filled me in one thrust. I cried out, the pleasure making my toes curl.

The pressure building in my core threatened to overflow. I felt every hard, perfect inch of Zander’s incredible cock. His hands were firm, but gentle on my hips as he fucked me. He reached a hand around to rub my clit, and if I hadn’t been holding the refrigerator handles, I would have collapsed to the floor. The pleasure made my knees buckle and soon I was screaming his name as the orgasm flooded me.

Zander groaned long and deep when he came inside of me. He scooped me back into his arms, and held me so close. Surely, this was heaven. There was nothing I’d wanted more, nothing I’d need more, than this male holding me tight. My heart swelled as he sent the same feelings of contentment down our bond. I closed my eyes and let him rock me for a moment, but pushed away when I felt his excitement, and mine, building again.

“Okay, we have a dinner to make,” I reminded him, giving him a playful slap on the shoulder. “Mom said everyone will be here for h'orderves at four.”

  “What can I do?”

  “Can you set the table?”

“Done,” he smiled, and my heart melted a little at the sight.

Fortunately, I had done the majority of the food prep last night, before Zander found me. I just had to pop it all in the oven or throw it on the skillet, and dinner would be ready. Mom and Dad were bringing the h’orderves, the triplets were doing drinks, and Willow had made a few pies.

I felt a buzz of nerves as the clock ticked away. It was my first year hosting a family holiday, and my first time as a mated wolf. I knew my family would be happy for us, but it was still nerve-wracking. I walked into the dining room and looked at the table setting. My mate did a good job, except…

“Zander,” I said, walking into the front room where he’d occupied himself by dusting, “you set an extra place.”

  “No, I didn’t.”

“Yes, you did,” I insisted. “You set nine, and there’s eight of us.”

  Zander’s mouth popped open.

“Oh, I forgot to tell you,” he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. “I invited Holly.”

  “What?!”

“There’s plenty of food, don’t worry.”

“That’s not what I’m worried about,” I admitted, memories of attacking her fresh in my mind.

  “I’m sure she’ll understand.”

Just then, the front door opened as my family let themselves in.

“Hellooooo, lovebirds,” I heard my little sister, Willow’s, voice, and cringed.

If Willow knew, then everyone knew. I bolstered myself before going out to greet them in the hall. I was relieved to see it was only Willow and Mom.

“Where’s everyone else?” I asked, giving my sister a hug.

“They’ll be over soon,” Mom said, beaming. “We’re so happy for you, sweetie.”

She somehow managed to pull me into a hug despite the bags of food she carried.

“It’s about time,” Willow said. “Everyone knew you were mates except you two.”

  “Willow!”

She giggled and poked me in the ribs before rushing into the house.

“Zandie!” she called, searching for my mate. “About time you mated my sister!”

I watched him emerge from the kitchen, an adorable blush on his face. Willow rushed up to him and gave him a big hug. It was sisterly, after all, she’d grown up with Zander as her fourth brother, but that didn’t stop my wolf from going nuts. A low growl tore from me and rumbled down the hall. Willow looked back, shocked, and slowly stepped away from Zander. Mom put a calming hand on my shoulder.

  “It’s okay, sweetie. She’s not a threat.”

“I know,” I snapped, annoyed. “Mom you can set up h’orderves up in the living room.”

She gave me one of her knowing looks before she walked into the kitchen to get serving plates. I made a show of organizing their coats, but I really just needed a moment to catch my breath. My wolf was way too out of control.

Warm, familiar hands rubbed my shoulders, and I felt an immediate sense of relief wash over me.

  “What’s wrong?” Zander asked.

I turned and looked up at him. I gave him a kiss before answering.

“This mating heat, it drives me crazy when another woman is near you. Even my sister.”

“I’m lucky you’re surrounded by all your relatives,” Zander shook his head. “If another viable male was around here, I don’t know what I’d do. I even growled at your dad.”

“Of all Moons,” I laughed, “it had to be this one.”

  “It’s perfect.”

“I’m just worried I won’t be able to keep my cool. Especially with Holly coming.”

Zander took my face in his hands and brought it close to his. His warm brown eyes were full of support.

“It’ll be fine. I’m right here with you. Don’t worry, we’ll get through tonight, and then we can give into the heat for days.”

He pressed his hardening length between our bodies for emphasis. It seemed we couldn’t go more than two
hours without mating. And the longer the time stretched between couplings, the wilder and angrier my wolf became. I wondered if I shouldn’t have cancelled this whole dinner, but I didn’t want to ruin Thanksgiving for everyone.

Suddenly, Thanksgiving was the last thing on my mind as Zander began to caress my ass, grinding me against his pulsing erection. I bit my lip, ready to lose myself in him, when I heard my sister calling my name.

“Addie! We can’t find the cheese knives.”

I groaned and smiled up at Zander, shrugging him off. He growled, his eyes flashing silver for a moment, and I giggled.

“Down, boy. We can get through this. Just a few hours.”

He nodded and sent a wave of desire through our bond that made me breathless. I left him there to collect himself while I saw to my sister. But as I felt the heat pooling between my thighs, I found myself sending a silent prayer to the Moon herself that we actually could get through this Thanksgiving.

  Zander

I could feel Addie’s anxiety, but I didn’t understand why. Sure, it wasn’t easy not being able to fuck her every minute like my body demanded, but we’d manage. I took a deep breath and willed my erection into submission as best I could. It hadn’t gone fully limp since the heat hit. The best I could hope for was half-mast.

  This mating heat was intense.

To make this night easier for my mate, I resolved to be the best co-host I could be, even if it was the first time I’d been at Addie’s new home. Our new home, I realized with no small amount of happiness. I felt a similar flicker of joy as Addie felt my heart. I wondered when I’d get used to being so intimately connected to another person. It was nice to have this tether to her always.

I helped Sadie and Willow set up h’orderves in the living room. A cheese plate, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp cocktail, and spinach and artichoke dip, all home made, peppered the long coffee table in the living room. The smell of it had my stomach rumbling, and I realized I had hardly eaten since last night.
