Ugly Dark Truth

Her body was made for mine, seemingly carved to fit me perfectly. I feel whole, like I’ve met my match, and I’m never letting go of her again. “You’re unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before, just fucking amazing,” I confess, and she lights up.

“I love you,” she whimpers into my ear as she leans forward, sucking on the lobe. The sensations mixed with the tender words have my body shuddering with an impending release. Knowing she feels the same way about me only spurs me closer to finding my release deep inside her.

“I love you too,” I return, resting my forehead to hers as I lovingly gaze into her eyes. “This is forever for me,” I rasp, and she cries out with an orgasm rocking through her core.

“Yes!” she moans, and I let go, knowing she’s come twice. “Forever,” she whispers and jets of hot cum spurt free, coating her womb. I’ll never let go/ I’ll never stop loving her fiercely. She’s got a warrior at her back with me. I feel sorry for whoever crosses her in the future, because she’s mine, and I take care of my family. She clenches me tightly to her, so I hold steady, not loosening my grip until she does hers.

Carefully, I set her on her feet, clutching her hips while she gains her footing. After a moment, she smiles lovingly at me and reaches for the loofa. Dumping an obnoxious amount of body wash in the fluffy poof, she goes to work, washing every inch of me. “Mm,” I mumble as she rubs circles over my back. It’s a soft, weird scratchy feeling, but it could out me to sleep if were lying down. “You good back there?” I ask, making sure I didn’t break her or anything.

“I’m great,” Kresley replies immediately, pleasure coating her voice. “I like washing you.”

  “Me too.”

“How was the rest of your day?”

Shrugging my wide shoulders, I think over our time in the closet and then the noneventful boring afternoon. It would’ve been better if she was there, but I’m glad she had a chance to patch things over with Tristan. “It was fine, nothing special without you there,” I admit.

Pausing in her movements, she presses a soft kiss to my shoulder blade. “I love you, Brent. I hope you realize just how much you mean to me.”

Grinning widely at the spray, she can’t see me, but her words fill my chest. “I love you, too, sweetheart.” Forever, but I don’t say that just yet. It’s one thing to moan it during sex, another to proclaim your undying love to your girlfriend in the tender moment’s afterward. I’ll save it for the future. I’m not trying to scare her off just yet. I plan to keep her forever.

The next few weeks fly by us, and the weather begins to change. It’s not as warm as we’re used to in March, but at least it’s not the steal-your-breath-away type of cold. I’m almost completely convinced that my balls will be frozen for the entire time we live in the north. Having Kresley living with us keeps us fairly warm, however. She’s always with one of us, wrapped in our arms. My brothers and I can’t seem to get enough of the girl.

Handing over a milk shake, she rewards me with a gleaming white smile. She doesn’t know it, but when she looks at me like that, she astounds me. I’ll buy her milk shakes forever if she keeps it up, hell, I’ll buy her anything she wants.

“We’ve done this multiple times now; always in our pajamas, picking up through the drive-thru. Pretty sure this has become our own tradition,” she says brightly.

“Oh yeah? If it’s tradition, then that means I have to lick it off of you each time, you know,” I respond wearing a grin. I’ll be more than happy to keep that part up.

Giggling, she rolls her eyes and says, “Or we could take turns, and I could lick it off you for once.” Her words have my pants growing tight, and that was not the plan with this trip. I was going to load her up on milk shakes and comfortable clothes then take her to a luxury car lot I discovered. I found a newer Aston Martin online that I wanted to test drive and maybe have delivered to the house, but now all I can think of is her licking me. We haven’t done anything like that so far; just heavy make-out sessions with me licking my milk shakes off her.

“If you add in that enticement, I’m going to have to start working out with my brothers.”

“Oh yeah? Why is that?” Kresley asks as I pull out of the parking lot and hit the main road, gaining speed.

“Because I’ll be taking you for shakes every day.”

She laughs and nods. “I could handle that.”

Groaning, my hand rakes over my face as I try to concentrate on the road. “Be careful what you wish for.”

“Are we going to our spot?”

I never intended for the secluded place where I first took her to become our designated make-out spot, but it’s quickly morphed into just that. The house is big enough that we get plenty of privacy, but this way, it’s only the two if us. “I was planning to go somewhere else, but we can head there first.”

“Ohhh, where were you taking me?”

With a shrug, I make the turn to head in the direction of our usual spot and say, “To look at a car.”

  “But I love my Porsche.”

Flashing her a smile, I mutter, “That’s good, beba. I was lookin’ for myself.” Sending her a wink, I watch a blush steel over her cheeks.

“That sounded way too entitled, I just meant because of you offering before.”

“I know, and it’s fine. I want you to be spoiled.” And that’s the truth. Anything she wishes for, all she has to do is ask, and I’ll make sure she has it.

“You guys indulge me with attention and love; it’s more than I could’ve ever asked for,” she admits quietly.

“That’ll never stop, mon cher.” I may not be as upstanding and golden as my brothers, but I won’t steer her wrong, that’s for certain.

“Have you talked about things with your brothers,” she asks suddenly.

Swallowing, I crack my neck before shrugging. “Sure.”

  “What does that mean, exactly?”

Tossing a glance her way, I pull the Escalade over, throwing the gear into park. “We talk about things, you included.”

“And it doesn’t upset you that I’m with them as well, that I’m still marrying Tristan?”

Shaking my head, my brow furrows. “No, of course not. That was the deal we made with you. Personally, I think you should let us bankrupt your father’s business, but we respect you for not wanting to put your mother and brother out on their asses, even with everything your father’s put you through.”

Her lip wobbles at the reminder of her father treating her so poorly. I know it upsets her badly to speak about him and what she’s gone through, so we’ve done our best not to bring it up. I never considered that she may have questions or whatever and actually want to discuss it. Reaching over, I lightly rub my thumb across to smooth the wobble from her mouth.

“Don’t be upset, beba. This drive was supposed to be a joyful one, yeah?”

“I’m happy, I promise. I just worry that I’ll end up losing one of you. It has to be hard, watching me with your brothers.”

“It’s not a walk in the park, but we all care for you. We shared our feelings with you, and that hasn’t changed.”

She releases a breath, letting the stress go along with it. “Okay, good.”

“Stop worrying about us, beba; that’s our job,” I retort with a smirk.

“I can’t help it. I love you, and I love them too. You guys are my family now.”

Nodding, I leave my seat, striding around the vehicle and opening her door. She glances at me, puzzled. “What are we doing?”

Holding my hand out, she places her palm in mine, and I say, “Come on. I have something set up for us.” I was saving it for another time but now seems just as good.

She hops out and follows me to the back of the SUV. Hitting the open button, the hatch rises to reveal a heated inflated mattress covered in about ten pillows and three fluffy blankets.

“You came prepared?” She smiles at me, and I chuckle.

“Something like that. As much as I enjoy having you on my la
p in whatever car we may be in, I want us to be able to spread out some.” I help her climb into the back and hit the switch, so the heated blanket warms up. I tried to think of everything. I hate being cold, and I wanted mon cher to be comfortable if we left the back open to the elements.

“I never pegged you as a romantic, but I think you are. Cole de Lacharriere, the closet romantic,” she beams, and I snort.

“Only for you, beba,” I coo, and she eats it up as I hand over our drinks and climb in next to her. It’s not a giant bed in a heated house, but it’ll work for right now. I needed to get her all to myself, and this was the easiest way to do it. Sure, I could always reserve a hotel room or even lease an apartment, but Kresley would never be impressed by any of it/ If anything, it’d probably make her uncomfortable. This right here; this is us.

She leans back against the pillows, releasing a sigh.

  “Comfortable, belle?”

“Very, thank you. But I could be better,” she shrugs, eyeing me.

  “Yeah?”

She nods. “You could scoot closer so we can share body heat.”

Chuckling, I slide the six inches between us until our sides are flush. “You don’t have to ask me twice,” I murmur and set my shake in the back cup holder and lean in to kiss her lips. I run my hand through her pale lavender hair, loving the feel of the silky softness. It reminds me of her all over, soft and smelling good.

  “Cole?”

  “Yeah, mon cher?”

“I meant it about you being romantic, not in a teasing way. I think it’s really sweet you went to this much trouble so we could snuggle like this in our spot.”

“You don’t think it’s stupid? We’re in my Escalade; I could be spoiling you like my brothers at the house or taking you on a trip.” The trip idea has crossed my mind many times, but I know those needy bastards would expect to tag along, and I want her to myself on occasion. I don’t mind sharing her, but I don’t want that all the time.

“I like it that you don’t do the same things as them. You all are different, and I find that very appealing. It’s one of the things I love the most about you all.”

“Are you sure?” I haven’t cared much in the past, not even when it boils down to my father’s approval. When it comes to Kresley, however, I want her to be pleased with me for some reason.

“I’m certain and knowing you went to this much trouble to make sure we had something special, really means a lot to me.”

My lips spread into a wide, pleased smile. I’m completely gone when it comes to this girl. Reaching into my pocket, I pull my phone free and hit play on the playlist, so the Bluetooth plays over the speakers.

The song begins, and she scrunches her nose, meeting my gaze. “You’re listening to Gaga?”

My face heats as I admit, “I may have copied your playlist.” I never know if she cares for the music I listen to, so I figured the smartest thing to do would be to copy the music she runs too. Kresley laughs and I rub my hand over my face. “Figured you might like to listen to your favorites.” I shrug the embarrassment off. I’ve never gone to this extent for a chick, but she’s not just some random young woman I want to get naked and snort coke with. She means more to me than any other.

“I don’t actually like to listen to her; she’s just upbeat when I run.”

Exhaling, I close my eyes and mutter, “Well, shit.”

Placing her mouth to mine, I open my eyes as she says between kisses, “I like your music. Let’s listen to that, but you’ve made me feel pretty special that you wanted me to have my music on.”

I hit mute and yank Kresley’s hips until she lies down, and I lean over her. “Forget the music; I have other plans for you.”

“I really like the sound of that.”

Grabbing my shake, I push her shirt up. She doesn’t hesitate, just lets me do as I please. We’ve done the milk shake thing a few times now, so she’s well aware that I plan on licking it off her skin. I’m about to tip the cup when her hand flies up to stop it from pouring.

“Wait! I told you, if we’re doing this tradition, then it’s my turn.”

She wants to lick it off me? I love that idea a little too much, but it feels pretty damn selfish.

“Come on, Cole.” She leans up, and the shirt falls back in place. Then she’s grabbing the shake and pushing me to lie backward instead.

“Beba, if we do this, I need you to take your shirt off.”

“Oh? You need it?” she teases, and I grumble good-naturedly.

“Yes, or completely naked would be even better,” I confess and watch in awe as she begins peeling her pajamas off. “Just like that, Kresley, keep goin’ girl.” My Cajun accent comes out thicker as my pants become tighter and tighter with each creamy inch of skin she exposes.

“You’re becoming quite bossy...it must be a de Lacharriere family trait.”

“You have no idea, belle. Now, get that sexy ass naked, and let me touch you. I wanna make you feel good, yeah, mon cher?”

She watches me through her lashes as she wiggles her curvy hips free of the material and waits for my next instruction. My pants are so tight, I feel as if I may burst through my zipper. She’s mind-blowingly gorgeous when she gets impatient.

“Stop.” I halt her hand as she reaches for my comfy sweat pants. I don’t know what it is, but something’s telling me to stop and not rush this attraction between us. I rarely deny myself of anything, but Kresley means far too much to me to screw this up.

  “Uh, w-what?” she stutters.

Pulling her hand to my lips, I graze a kiss against her knuckles. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but let’s wait.”

“I don’t understand,” she says and worries her bottom lip. She’s the cutest girl doing that shit, I swear.

“Look,” I confess, not sure if I should be divulging or not, but blow ahead regardless. “I know you’ve gone much further with my brothers, and that’s okay,” I reassure, before admitting, “Normally I’d be all for getting in your pants and taking what I want...but it’s not like that with you.”

  “Oh, uh, it’s not?”

“No. Not for me, anyhow. Look Kresley, I really like you, love you, in fact. So, it just made me really think about things; this isn’t something quick and easy for me. I don’t want to treat you like you’re not something that’s far more special to me, because you are, beba. I want us to take our time exploring each other. You don’t plan on running off on me anytime soon, right?”

She shakes her head adamantly as she says, “Of course not. You know I love you, too, and want to be with you.”

“Good, I feel the same, mon belle. I wanna take it slow and unwrap you bit by bit, yeah? Savor you...”

Her mouth pulls up. “You’re sure about this? I won’t be upset at all if we go the entire way.”

“Yeah, but that’s what you’re expecting from me. For once in my life, I want to be better—for you. You make me want to be a good man, beba.”

“Cole, I don’t know how you’re not aware already, but I’m going to let you in on a secret, okay?” she says thoughtfully, so I nod, curious.

  “All right...”

“You are already a good man. I’m proud to have you in my life. If you want to move slowly with our relationship, then I’m with you. Let’s take our time and savor each moment as you suggested.”

“Gonna confess something to you, mon cher, but don’t get upset.”

Her brows rise as she waits for me to continue, and my heart beats rapidly in my chest. I know the weight of my words could ruin things for me, but it’s a chance I have to take. Actions come with consequences, even if I’ve learned to skirt around most of them.

I begin with an apology and a promise, very un-Cole like. “I’m sorry we hurt you. It’ll never happen again.” Her gaze quickly turns weary, waiting for me to finish. This is a touchy subject for her, and understandably so.

“But our plan—our ugly white lie—was the best thing to ever happen to us. I regret h
urting you; I always will. But every day I’m glad we did it because it got us you. See, I’m not a good man like you think in the slightest, ‘cause I’d do it all over again if I knew it’d get you with me here, now, like this.” I don’t want to lie to her any longer, and that starts by admitting the ugly dark truth about our plan to take her family’s money. In my father’s world, the business world, it’s shark eat shark out there, and he’s learned to be the bigger fish.

She opens her mouth, and I clench my stomach, waiting for her to tell me to get lost. Surprisingly, she doesn’t, nor does she scream at me, which is a huge plus.

“Maybe one day you’ll realize, Cole, that you never needed a lie in order to have me. I didn’t fall in love with you because you lied to me. I fell in love with you because of the way you made me feel. The compassion and care you showed me, the tenderness and friendship; there was no lie in that. You opened yourself up to me, and that’s why I fell for you. Your honesty now may hurt for me to hear it, but I’m definitely grateful to have it.”

“You’ll always have it, beba. Never again will I lie or deceive you,” I declare earnestly, staring into her eyes. She has to believe me, even if I don’t deserve for her to. My brothers and I were idiots to mislead her before, and I hope they’ve learned not to lie to her in the future, as I have.

  “I love you, Cole. Truly.”

Her declaration fills me with light, and I smile warmly, replying, “I love you, mon cher.”

I’ve never loved another like I do her, but I’ll save that truth for another time.

“I want to tell her the truth,” I share with my brothers, and their expressions instantly morph, filling with anxiety and disbelief.

“The truth,” Cole echoes ominously, and I nod.

“Yes. I don’t like keeping anything from her. It’s becoming too difficult.”

Tristan scoffs. “The truth, huh? Did you forget what happened to her the last time she found out? How she reacted and what happened to her?”
