4 In Ashby Close Up, an unauthorized 2000 biography, Geoffrey Collins wrote: “When Ashby returned from her successful European tour for Fictional Family Life, it was not to her Lower East Side apartment. Instead, she and her new husband settled in Rhome, in northern Virginia. Title records show Ashby purchased the thirteen-hundred-square-foot house situated on four private acres in her name alone.”
