The Chronicles of Syra Omnibus
Page 21
My daughter Syra was born to go to Earth, make another contact and unite the planet Zhian with Earth. But we had not foreseen that Zhian would have internal issues that would cause our people to have no other choice but reach for the stars to preserve the Zhianite and Human connection.
We regret that our Syra was not met with open arms, but we hope there will be a day when she will be accepted as one with her ancestors from Earth.
The first contact on Earth’s grand soil has now been more than 2,100 years ago of Earth’s time, and my daughter Syra is a direct descendant from several generations to once again touch her feet upon the soil of Earth to say greetings.
We are well pleased with our Syra.
Thank you
The holocom unit went silent. All on Earth II stood and cheered Syra. Not a single eye was dry upon the soil of Earth II that day. There were no visuals provided by those on Earth. They had been on the receiving end of the celebration.
James spoke of how he first met Syra and if it had not been for him, she may have had a much different future on Earth. One not as pleasant as she had hoped for.
But his love for her rescued her from becoming the property of the U.S. government and numerous examinations, questioning and demands of her to the point she may have had to escape.
It was her decision to remain as unnoticed as she could for a time, which would allow her to learn the ways of life on Earth.
He explained to Earth and Earth II that to him Syra was more human than any he had met in all his life, and he then stepped aside to allow Zoey to come forward.
Zoey spoke and told of her story and how she was born on Earth from Syra and her father James Caldiron, a rancher from Nevada.
To Zoey, it was the only world she knew until she arrived on Earth II. She talked of how she met Preston, her husband, through his causes to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless and care for those less fortunate on the Earth.
When Zach spoke of his story he spoke not just to his constituents on Earth, but to all the people on Earth and Earth II. He told of how he had felt he was born to bring peace and believed politics would give him the voice to the masses he needed to do so.
But because of who he was, he told the crowd, he could not be who he was born to be, a leader on Earth. He spoke of how he hoped that one day, aliens from Zhian would be greeted as friends and not the enemy. Then, Zach stepped back, and they all watched as the crowd stood and cheered for a very long time.
It was time for the music and dancing and Earth II celebrated for a week.
Then it was moving day to The City of Life. It would take some time for everyone to get moved to the City and to settle in, but this was their big day.
The Central Command Center never slept and remained open and running monitoring the planets health, population, resources, plant and animal life and so on.
The safety of Earth II and its inhabitants were not only monitored from CCC, but it was also monitored from the Zhian Sphere and all grids were active in the network and the planet was safe.
Zach and Celeste and their children moved to The City of Life. Zoey and Preston and their children followed behind them, and they lived next to each other in the city.
The Central Command Center had many bots that served alongside their human Zhian counterparts and all had the same goal in mind, the success of Earth II.
Syra sat at her command chair each day to check on things and receive reports from the Zhian Sphere as well as reports that were always coming in from Earth and President Cole.
When Syra was not sitting at her chair, Zach was. Syra would allow Zach to run the entire planet from her chair on many occasions and she knew he was just as good as she was, and this gave her a lot of hope.
Syra and James longed for the opportunity to take Sheevah out on a run again to get some closeup visits with some of the beaches of Earth II. Perhaps spend some time at one of them just to enjoy the relaxation. James began planning their getaway right away!
It was Zach's turn to sit in Syra’s seat. This was his time to speak with President Cole. Zach knew it was critical to keep open communication with Earth, always.
The message was marked urgent and Zach was concerned because Cole never sent emergency messages unless warranted.
Cole had watched the grand celebrations he received from Earth II. He had been having many discussions with the citizens of the United States about the time that Syra lived among them. Everyone wanted to meet Syra again, but this time it would be on better terms than the first time.
Zach promised he would discuss that with his mother and let Cole know soon. But he asked Cole what was really behind the emergency call, he knew there had to be more than a visit from his mother for an emergency call.
Coles concern was that he was unable to find a safe place to house the precious documents that Trevil’s men had stolen and they had been rescued by Ohtron and his bitrons.
It was Zach’s suggestion that Cole take this to the people and let them decide what to do because the rebellion was still very much alive, just not as active.
Many of the rebellious left over from the Trevil days was now living under false pretenses, and it was sometimes difficult to know one from the other these days.
The trials were starting on Earth and this caused a lot of tension. Already rioting had taken place. Many new riots were forming and protestors that did not move to Canada continued to resist the truth.
Cole was concerned that these resistors to truth and facts were teaching their children the same hate they felt and there may never be an end to what was awakened in those by Trevil while he was in office.
But Cole told Zach he believed that good would rule over evil in the end. That mankind was better than that, they were descendants of the forefathers and still shared the same dreams.
They ended the call and Zach sat for the longest time wishing things had been different on Earth.
But Zach had a job to do on Earth II and he would wait to hear from Cole before arranging to have the documents delivered back to Earth according to the wishes of its people.
Meanwhile, those precious historical documents remained tucked away safely awaiting the time that Earth II could return what was rightfully owned by the people of the United States.
Syra and James finally got moved into their new home next to their children and grandchildren and the City of Life was booming with life.
Those that worked in CCC, would go to work each morning, and return to the City of Life in the evenings and shifts were done fairly. The bots had citizenship just like everyone else and many had requested some of the programming Zee10 had.
It baffled Zee10 to no end that they would wish for human Zhian qualities that he found to just hinder his workflow many times as feelings were a distraction. But when it was granted, he lent himself to the port inside Zhians Sphere and each bot that wanted the upgrade lined up but Zee-uV refused the upgrade.
The call finally came, and Cole said the people had voted against having their historical documents returned to the United States for fear there would be a new uprising and it was just too risky at the time.
That was when Zach had a special museum built to house the historical documents and relics of the forefathers on the United States back on Earth. All future citizens born on Earth II would be able to see those documents but would know they are on loan until such time they can be returned to their rightful owners.
When the museum was done, it housed many items from Zhian and Earth and the building itself was as protected at the Zhian Sphere!
Ohtron approved of his new job on Earth II shuttling explorers about the planet logging new areas for resources, plant and animal life and analyzing samples. But anytime he could return to his docking position close to Sheevah made his day.
As the urgent calls were fewer these days, Zach assumed Cole had things under control and there was no need to be concerned. The visual feed was continuous and Ohtron had set up numerous places
around the states, so Earth II could monitor Earth and if it became necessary, Ohtron could return to Earth to assist if needed.
Meanwhile, Sheevah was more than ready to shuttle Syra and James to the beach for a much-needed vacation. The naming ceremony for all the continents, right down to the names of the beaches were still undetermined and they were referred to by numbers.
Sheevah had been fully stocked with all the amenities and supplies Syra and James would need. The two would arrive at E-B23981 once her precious family was aboard.
Syra and James finally arrived in their travel pod and boarded Sheevah. But Syra insisted in bringing everything she needed to keep in constant contact with CCC.
James informed Sheevah to not disturb Syra unless it was urgent and Sheevah understood how important a rest was for Syra.
All seated and comfortable, Sheevah lifted high into the sky then swooped down to give Syra and James the view of their lifetime.
The view was beautiful from the skies over Central Command Center, they rose again and in just a few minutes swooped down over The City of Life. Then just moments later they hovered above the Zhian Sphere and all its beauty and glory.
“Please sit back and enjoy the ride to your requested location,” Sheevah said. She also reminded her passengers of the drinks in the cabinet while they were cruising, and that now would be the time to make them before the arrival at the beach.
Not long afterward, Sheevah landed softly and on the perfect spot for a fantastic view of the beach, the ocean and later a gorgeous sunset.
Every day they were there was the same as the last. Syra and James had never had a chance to spend time together like this since they met each other now over 40 Earth years ago.
The restore pod was most useful for those ailing and sick, but it was also used to retain youthfulness and it showed in both Syra and James as they frolicked on the beach. They were running and playing like children, hitting each other with their beach balls and writing their names in the sand.
At this point in their lives, they could not think of a reason to move back to Earth. Earth II had so much beauty and so many unknowns and places that need exploring.
James wanted this planet to accommodate his people from Earth, a place to call home should his own planet suffer the same or similar fate as the planet Zhian did.
Syra wanted the planet to be home for her people but for all people of Earth too, and that they were both in agreement on.
Both knew Earth II was home to Zhianites and Humans already. But they needed to build their world and make it livable for those that were already on the planet.
James suggested they create a special team to work on a vehicle designed to carry many humans from Earth to Earth II as an escape ship should things take a turn for the worse back on Earth.
Both James and Syra knew it would be a huge task and neither was willing for it to interfere with any current projects, however, it was critical this project be done.
The one thing that concerned Syra was that if she could not be accepted on Earth, how could she expect anyone from Earth to ever want to live on Earth II. Then, she quickly put those thoughts aside and moved on.
But she knew that in the end, if they did not start planning now, they would run out of time. When Earth got into real trouble, it would be too late for them to assist the people of Earth. They were her children’s people and her husbands. Not to mention the fact that her great-grandmother left a descendant on Earth a long time ago. That gave her the rights to claim them too.
As they lay on the beach, both had so many ideas that James had to start taking notes. He began to go over his list reading it out loud.
Build a rescue ship or two designed to carry a large group in an emergency from Earth to Earth II.
Send whatever is needed from Earth II to help fix environmental and health issues on Earth particularly in the United States as a place to start.
Ask for volunteers offering land ownership in exchange for farming and building on Earth II.
Shuttle scientists from Earth to Earth II and back.
Send assistance and technologies to Earth for domestic or foreign problems in the United States in its defense.
At some point, they had to drop the list and just count the stars in the sky. They would enjoy their evening for what time they had on the beach before having to return home in the morning.
The moon was much larger here on Earth II which meant when it was full, the night was well-lit. Both saw this as a very romantic benefit of living on Earth II.
Both returned to Sheevah for dinner and some entertainment on the viewer. But the past few days on the beach with just the two of them was exactly what both needed.
James needed the rest and relation to get charged up again in order to help Syra lead their people. To help in as many ways as he could to help Earth which had much greater problems that Earth II no doubt.
But this night was theirs and theirs alone, and both let all their concerns go and enjoyed their time together.
There had always been something happening somewhere that required them to tackle a problem even when they were not ready for it.
Ever since the time James and Syra first met, their relationship had always been about others. Never had they really spent any time just relaxing with basically no concerns at all. This beach had all the ingredients of a place every couple should visit and was the absolute perfect getaway.
“James, do you think we’ll ever invent a shuttle that can travel back and forth from Earth II to Earth in a reasonable timeframe?” Syra asked.
“Oh, no doubt we will. Someday, we’ll shuttle folks from Earth to this very beach on Earth II that are looking for a romantic getaway!” James replied.
The two spent hours dreaming of a better world here on Earth II but also, they knew they were the ones to improve life on Earth if it were possible at all.
“But the people of Earth deserve so much better than what they have been dealt from their ancestors!” Syra said sadly.
“Yes, we do, but mistakes were made in the past on Earth. We may be the only ones who have the capabilities to fix Earth!” James said as he spoke with a wistful voice.
That evening, Syra and James talked about a lot of things. But one thing for certain, they knew they were now living on a planet just like Earth.
“What I am certain of is that we can play a major role in saving humankind!” Syra said.
James replied, “The way I see it, darling, time is not on our side!” he went on to say, “If we are ever going to help Earth, it will no doubt be a race against time!”
Later when they retired for the evening, Syra asleep in her bed, James received an emergency call from his son Zach back at the Central Command Center.
After Zach's greetings to his father and requesting he not wake his mother, Zach ran the following message across his father James screen.
The message read, “This is President Cole of the United States of America. Urgent, the United States is in peril,” Moments later another line came through, “We need your assistance right away, any help you can send us would be greatly appreciated!” End of transmission.
syra, race against time
book two
chapter ONE
The message came in over Sheevah’s console from President Cole of the United States, to former President Zachary Caldiron who now resides on Earth II.
He marked it urgent and warned that the United States was in a state of chaos. Fires are now consuming most of the countryside and sweeping across the land almost faster than he could keep up with them.
James woke Syra up to have her read the messages that came in from their son Zach while they had been vacationing on the beach on Earth II in the Sheevah.
Sheevah, a state-of-the-art ship, would fly her precious cargo back to the settlement which they renamed Central Command Center or CCC right away.
Sheevah’s core systems were connected to CCC and the core of Zhian Sphere, which still perched h
igh on a mountaintop of Earth II.
Zhian Sphere was a spaceship sphere, but also was often considered as self-sufficient as a planet and could house thousands of residents.
It was that ship that carried Syra and the Zhianites to Earth and then on to Earth II. Still inside its cargo bay were tons of the precious gems and crystals that could on be found on the planet Zhian so far.
The cargo bays still held all the Zhian technologies for its inhabitants, to care for them for thousands and thousands of years to come.
As soon as Syra returned from the beach she called a meeting. This meeting would include everyone who held any high-ranking positions, and all were in attendance.
That morning Syra created the Earth II War Room because everyone knew an invasion of Earth may eventually become necessary to save it. More reports came in that martial law may be necessary, but the fear of an insurrection weighed heavy on the Presidents mind.
Earth II inhabitants would always be there for the inhabitants of Earth. The leaders of Earth II promised President Cole back on Earth that they would come to his rescue if needed. They also promised to use their Zhian technologies to help President Cole, and that time was fast approaching.
When Syra and some of her people and their bots escaped certain death on their planet Zhian they brought the Zhian technologies they had with them. The Zhian Sphere held everything the Zhians needed to sustain their lives and their future. But it could also be used to help others such as Earth should it become necessary.
Trevil and his people once forced President Zachary Caldiron, the former president of Earth, to escape the White House when Trevil occupied it illegally to claim a third term in the middle of Zach’s presidency. This forced Zack out of office and off of Earth.
The biggest reason for the takeover was because Zach was part alien. Trevil used that knowledge against him for the takeover. Trevil had done this because he wanted to serve a third term, and if it meant bending or breaking the constitution to do it, he would.
