She had a taste in her mouth, a nice sweet and sour taste, and she felt oddly full as she drifted, slowly and every so pleasantly, out of unconsciousness.

  "Ah. She wakens!"

The voice was familiar. She turned her head to the left, and found herself looking at an older man, bulky with a faintly ravaged face.

  "Mar--"

The Marquis de Sade put his fingers to his lips. "Citizen Charles, Janice. And I serve not just as your neighbor, but as your doctor. Remember that, my dear," he said. "Your doctor."

"My doctor," she said. "But what has happ--"

  And then she remembered.

It all flashed back to her.

The feel of his cock inside her. The smell of his sweat and the look of his face as he came.

And the rush, the amazing rush...

  Of her coming shortly after.

  "The first time!" she said.

"Yes, it would seem. And a remarkable first time, Janice. The orgasm was so powerful you lost consciousness."

  "Oh. Oh... and Napoleon?"

"After he was certain you were not dead, he fled."

  "Fled?" she said.

"Oh don't worry," he said. "He promised to return. To look in on you."

  "Oh."

"It would seem you have made a new friend. A friend who would like to see you again. And I shall have to be around to return you to your senses after Napoleon has his way with you... Or perhaps you have your way with him."

"Some water," she said. "I could use some water."

He got her a glass of boiled drinking water, cooled overnight.

  She drank it.

  "I think... I think..."

But even as she said this, there was a knock on the door.

  "Come in," said Citizen Charles.

He bounded in, energetic and fresh, as though he had slept longer and more satisfying than her, which she well knew could not be the case.

  It was Napoleon.

"My dear Janice," he said, bowing and taking up her hand, formally kissing it.

  "Napoleon," she said.

"I feared... I feared I’d killed you," he said.

Janice shook her head, and pointed, alluding to the Marquis.

"Oh nonsense. He is your doctor. And my new employee. Well paid last night, were you not, Citizen Charles?"

  The Marquis bowed in acknowledgement.

"And so, he will be around again, just in case. And also to attend to your every need." He kissed her hand again. "Can you forgive me, my darling? I knew that I had the strength and drive of a warrior. But it was not meant to create such destruction."

She smiled weakly at him. Acting, of course. She did not feel weak, no not at all. "I remain your loving servant, my Lord."

"Then you will allow me to call upon you?"

"Of course," she said. "That would be... wonderful."

Napoleon looked honestly relieved. He kissed her hand again. "I cannot stay. But I had to rush over here this morning to make sure that you were well."

"I am well, my lord. And looking forward to whenever and wherever I will see you again."

Napoleon turned to Citizen Charles. "I am leaving one of my attendants here to help. He will also act as a go between and will notify you when I can come here or where I might meet with Janice again."

  "I understand."

"I appreciate this, Doctor. And again, I trust this will all be kept... discreet?"

"Of course. I look forward, First Consul, to a mutual acquaintance and pray that I can be of service to you, always."

Napoleon kissed Janice on the cheek. "Soon. I will come again soon woman. Be sure, you have bewitched me."

And then, with brisk efficiency, he was all.

"Well," said de Sade. "My fortunes have changed. Let's just hope he does not learn who I am... or by the time he learns, cares not."

Janice smiled. Oh Marquis. More than your fortunes have changed!

She gently rubbed her sore, yet happy, pussy.

The Marquis de Sade. General Murat. Talleyrand.

  Napoleon Bonaparte.

"Marquis," said Janice. "What do you know about history?

  EPILOGUE

A boat was slipped off and the naked women was fished out of the morning sea.

She was half-conscious when she was dried and stowed away in the Captain's quarters. She was fed broth and tea and, shivering, she seemed in some sort of daze.

Captain Roger Williams discussed the matter with the Lieutenant who had seen her fall from the sky.

"Damned odd," he said. "The ship's surgeon says she keeps babbling about Napoleon Bonaparte, Fordham University, some woman named Janice--and Lord Horatio Nelson."

"How fascinating. And strange as well," said the Lieutenant. "

  "Oh? How so?"

"I mean--with our mission involving Admiral Nelson coming up."

He gazed across the morning sea, up the coast and across the chains of the sea toward the entrance of the Thames River--and the Port of London.
