She leaned her head back against his chest and craned her neck. He lowered his head and pressed his mouth against hers. His tongue pushed through the seams of her lips and plunged in, and they kissed deeply until she moved her face away. “I should get the plates down.” He chuckled and then moved away while she took out two colorful stoneware plates and matching mugs. He poured her a cup of coffee.

She sipped it. “I love the addition of the cardamom. I never would’ve thought of it.”

“I had it like this at an Indian restaurant I went to when I was in Denver one time with Hawk and Throttle. I flipped for it. I don’t drink it like that very often, but I wanted to see if you liked it. You strike me as someone who likes the exotic.” He winked.

After a scrumptious breakfast, Breanna started to clean up. “I could get used to this,” she joked as she placed the dishes in the dishwasher. “How did you get back in the house after you went to the grocery store? I didn’t give you a key.”

“I don’t need a key. Let’s just leave it at that.”

“You know, I’m enjoying riding on your Harley. It’s been a long time since I’ve been on a motorcycle. I forgot how much I love the feel of the wind whipping around me. How freeing it is. I love how it makes me feel like I’m flying.” She looked up from the sink and met his intense gaze. “What? Why’re you looking like that at me?”

He came over and tugged her to him. “You make me so fucking turned on, woman. I’d love to take you for a ride on my Harley, then pull over and fuck you long and slow on it. You loving the ride is fucking hot.” His mouth covered hers hungrily and she pressed closer to him, her body aching for his touch. “Breanna,” he rasped as his hand slid down to her ass.

In one fluid movement, he lifted her up, walked over to the kitchen table, and set her on top of it. He shoved up her T-shirt, exposing her full breasts, and eagerly sucked and feasted on them as she moaned and writhed beneath him. As they touched and tasted each other, their arousal rose higher until Steel turned her around on her knees and spread them open wide. He slid under her, and when she felt his tongue lapping up her sweet juices, she nearly lost it. As he licked her, one hand played with her tit and nipple, while his other kneaded her ass cheek. His wandering fingers went from her ass to her heated slit, pressing against it as his wicked tongue steadily lapped her clit.

When he pushed two fingers inside her, wiggling them, she cried out, “I want you inside me. Fuck me.”

He chuckled against her folds, and the vibration from his lips made her crazed with desire. “You taste so good, baby. Like honeyed salt. Fucking good.” He lapped harder as his fingers thrust in and out of her. “You like that?”

“Mmm… I love how you make me lose control,” she breathed. He pushed out from under her and she heard him rip open a packet before he unzipped his jeans, his stiff cock jutting against her ass. A quiver surged through her veins as her insides jangled with excitement. She looked over her shoulder and met his heated gaze as he took his cock in his hands, slowly teasing her clit with its throbbing head. “That feels so damn good,” she croaked.

“I’m gonna make you feel even better,” he said as his dick left her clit and slid into her, just the tip. “You like that, baby?” He leaned over and kissed her back, then slid his cock fully inside her. “Fuck,” he said in a low voice. Then he pulled out, her body trembling in anticipation for the next thrust. He didn’t disappoint, slamming into her once more, burying his hardness deep inside. He grabbed her by the waist and thrust forward. His pace was quick and hard, and she let out whimpers of delight as the tingling warmth gathered between her legs. Her head snapped back as he grabbed a fistful of her hair and yanked, her back arching while he buried himself deeper inside her. He reached around and stroked the side of her sweet spot with a single finger while he rode her hard and fast.

Pressure began to build between her legs, and then a tidal wave of pleasure overtook her as her orgasm echoed through her body. She felt him bucking into her and heard him grunt as he found his release. Her breathing slowed and she collapsed on the table, his dick throbbing inside her. It was the best feeling in the world. I could get addicted to this. She sighed contentedly. “That was awesome,” she said, wiping the drool from her mouth.

He blew out a warm breath that tickled her back. “Fuck, woman. You’re in my blood.” He feathered short kisses over her shoulders, then pulled out and lay beside her, drawing her close to him so her back fit against his stomach as he stroked her hair. “You wanna go for a ride today? I got a special spot I’d like to share with you.”

He wants to spend the whole day with me. I was so wrong about him. Fuck, I quit my job! I gotta call Jorge and tell him I want it back. “I’d love to.” She brought his hands up to her face and kissed them.

They finally sat up and Steel helped her off the table, clasping her body tightly to his. “We should get ready to go,” he whispered in her hair.

“I know. Why don’t you go first, and I’ll clean the table.” She tilted her head back and gave him a devilish grin.

He lowered his head and kissed her. “Okay.” He smacked her ass and then let her go. “I love the way your ass feels against my hand.” He winked and swaggered to the bedroom.

Breanna gathered her clothes from the floor and slipped on her T-shirt and shorts, then took out the cleanser from under the sink and began to clean the table. She heard Steel’s voice flitting from the bedroom and strained to hear what he was saying, but she couldn’t make anything out except the occasional “fuck” that peppered his conversation. A couple of minutes later, he came back into the kitchen, his face serious and tight.

“We’re gonna have to go on our ride another time, baby. I gotta go.”

“Has something happened to Chenoa?” A knot formed in her stomach.

“No. I got club business. I’ll call you later.”

Disappointment wove through her. She remembered her dad had always used “club business” as an excuse for disappearing for days on end. She hated those words.

“Hey.” He came up to her and cupped her chin in his hand. “Don’t sweat it. We got some shit going on that has to be taken care of. That doesn’t mean we can’t go for a ride during the week.”

“I know,” she mumbled as she ran her hands over his T-shirt.

“I’m just gonna take a quick shower. Then I have to go.” He kissed the tip of her nose and padded back to the bedroom.

She sank down on the couch, turned on the TV, and stared blankly at the screen. She hit Mute on the remote and called Jorge.

  “It’s me,” she said.

  “Changed your mind?”

“Yeah. I was just having a moment. Sorry.”

“I figured as much. Steel and I go back a long time. He’s a decent guy. He gets a bad rap because he’s president of an outlaw biker club, but he’s really an upstanding guy. Don’t let him know I told you that.” He chuckled. “So, I’ll see you Friday night?”

“Yes. Thanks, Jorge. No more drama from me, okay. God, I hate it when women create drama, and I pulled that crap on you.”

“It happens. No worries. Friday, then.”

She hung up and wrapped her arms around her knees. A few minutes later Steel came out, his black hair damp. She jumped up and opened the door for him. “Thanks again for last night and breakfast.”

He kissed her passionately. “You’re welcome. I’ll call you.” Putting on his sunglasses, he walked into the brightness of the day. He smiled at her before he pulled away from her house, and then he was gone.

An empty ache filled her, and she chided herself for being such a whiny wimp. She turned off the TV and went to her bedroom, deciding she’d take another shower and then settle down and read a good book. It’d been a long time since she had a chance to read for pleasure and she decided she’d take advantage of it.

She knew she was hooked. He’d told her she was in his blood, but he was in her heart, and she didn’t even know how the hell it had happened.

/>   I’ve done exactly what I said I wasn’t going to do. I’ve fallen for a biker. My brothers and sister are going to shit bricks. They aren’t going to believe it. Hell, I don’t believe it.

She laughed aloud, then covered her mouth with her hand.

  And it feels wickedly wonderful.

  Chapter Nineteen

When Steel walked into the meeting room, the brothers were already assembled and Paco sat with his chair leaning against the wall. The clamor of voices stopped when Steel walked to the head of the table. He jerked his chin at Paco who returned the gesture before Steel picked up the gavel and pounded it on a wooden block on the table. “Church is now starting. Paco called me and said that there’s some angry shit going around here about the decision I made about the fucking Skull Crushers. I don’t go for saying shit behind my back instead of to my face. Even though I’m president, I wanna hear if you got something burning up your ass. So, let’s have it.” He scanned the room of bikers.

Eagle cleared his voice. “Some of us are wondering why the pieces of shit are still breathing when they’re dealing smack in our county. What the fuck’s up with that?”

“Yeah. We decided a few days back at church that we’d take care of them. What the hell happened? We’ve been waiting for the word.” Brutus crossed his arms across his massive chest. Army and Rooster slammed their fists on the table in agreement.

Steel glanced at Diablo, who stood in the back surveying the situation. As sergeant-at-arms for the club, his job was to make sure no harm came to the brotherhood or to the members, especially the president. Steel could see his muscles tighten as his stiff body stood in a pounce stance.

The president looked back at his brothers. “Is that about it? Anyone else want to say something?” Silence was the response. “Okay. I get why some of you are fucking pissed and want to rush over and decimate the fucking punks, but I also know that it’s not the right timing.” A few grunts and angry noises bounced around the room. Steel slammed the gavel down. “I gave you time to voice your shit. Now it’s mine. Shut the fuck up. First off, the Skull Crushers aren’t the supplier in this mess we have going in our county. Skull has some shit to report that has bearing on this.”

Skull stood up and placed his palms on the table. “We heard from our snitch and he said that another shipment came in. This time the Skull Crushers weren’t the ones distributing the smack. He said it was a skinny guy with light brown hair and blue eyes. He’d never seen him before. Our snitch asked the guy where the fucking Crushers were, and the dude didn’t know what he was talking about.”

“Is this skinny asshole the main distributor?” Crow asked.

“Nah. It seems like he works for whoever is the biggie in the county. The snitch doesn’t know why the Skull Crushers weren’t involved with this shipment, but the skinny fucker said there’s been a change in personnel.”

“Fuck that,” Eagle muttered. “We gotta find out who’s distributing the smack to these peons. Our snitch, the skinny fucker, and a few other assholes on the street are just users who need money, so they’re doing the dirty shit while some fat fucker is getting all the money. When we find who that is, we’ll find the supplier. I say we pick up this skinny dude and persuade him to give us some names.”

“He may not know anything more than our informant,” Skull said. The membership grumbled in agreement.

Steel put his foot up on the chair and leaned forward. “We gotta find this local distributor, that’s for sure, but he’s just the middleman. We need the supplier. When we find how the pieces fit together, the distributor, the Skull Crushers, and the supplier will all be eliminated.”

“What’re we gonna do about the ones selling the shit on the streets?” Eagle asked.

Steel shook his head. “They’re just addicts. They’ll move on to another street corner in another county.”

“I still say it’s the Satan’s Pistons,” Crow said. “This sounds like shit they’d do.”

“Maybe, but the thing that doesn’t convince me is that they don’t have a connection with the Skull Crushers. It doesn’t make any fucking sense,” Steel said. At that moment, his phone rang and he pulled it out of his cut. “It’s Hawk. Let’s see if the Insurgents have any ideas about this.”

He put the phone up to his ear. “Yo, brother,” Steel said.

“Hey. I wanna say I’m fuckin’ sorry about your daughter. Fuck. That must be rough. How’s she doing?”

“Thanks, dude. She’s doing better. We’re in church now trying to figure out where the fuck the drug is coming from. Our snitch told us it was from an MC. We already know the Skull Crushers are involved, but they’re definitely not the heavy.” In the distance, Steel heard the rough voices of Banger and Throttle.

“I’m gonna put you on speakerphone so Banger and Throttle can get in on this talk. Hang on,” Hawk said.

Steel switched his phone to speaker and placed it down on the table. “Can you guys hear me okay?”

“Yep,” Banger said as Throttle and Hawk grunted.

“Good. Have you heard anything from the network about a biker club involved in transporting smack into southwestern Colorado?”

“No, but I’ll do some digging,” Hawk said.

“If I had to make a guess, I’d say those assholes Dustin and Shack are behind this. Probably talked the Demon Riders into it,” Banger replied. Dustin and Shack were two renegade Insurgents who joined the Demon Riders MC when Banger ordered a group of his brothers to go to Nebraska and shut down the charter club there. Dustin was the president and Shack the vice president of that club. They’d been warned numerous times to clean up their act. They were prostituting underage girls, selling and using hardcore drugs, using minors at their strip club, and treating the national club without respect. They’d been a pain in the Insurgents’ and their affiliates’ asses since the Nebraska charter was dismantled.

“I’m with Banger. They were hit bad financially when we fucked up their guns deal with the Gypsy Fiends in Louisiana,” said Throttle.

“The Demon Riders. Fuck. I never thought of them.” Steel picked up the beer Crow had placed down in front of him. “Makes sense.” Murmurings circulated through the room as the brothers discussed the possibility of going to Iowa to kick some Demon Riders ass.

“And they got a connection to the Skull Crushers. Remember that fuckin’ sonofabitch Viper? The Skull assholes had been helping him. I’m with Banger too. I’ll dig deeper, but I’m pretty fuckin’ sure we’ll find Dustin and Shack in the middle of all this.”

“If we find out they’re the ones, it’ll be war. There’s no damn way I’m gonna be satisfied with them just stopping. I want their goddamn hides.” Steel slammed his beer bottle on the table and the brothers raised their arms in the air, their fists clenched.

“Night Rebels forever, forever Night Rebels,” they chanted. Steel smiled; he fucking loved the brotherhood.

“If the Demon Riders are in on this, you can count us by your side. I’ve been itching to take Dustin and Shack out for too long,” Banger said.

For a couple of seconds, Steel was overcome with admiration. His brothers were still chanting, and his Insurgent brothers were willing to lay their lives on the line to help him and the Night Rebels out. This is what brotherhood is all about. “Thanks. I’ll take you up on the offer of support. We’re gonna find out who the local distributor is and take care of him.”

“I’ll get back to you with the info,” Hawk said. “Glad Chenoa’s back on track.”

“Thanks.” Steel stared ahead as a bittersweet feeling filled him. Is she back on track? For how long? Fuck. Steel hung up and the members discussed the particulars for another thirty minutes before he adjourned the meeting.

As he was walking out of the meeting room, Paco came beside him. “Do you have any idea who this local fucker is?”

“I’m not sure. Since the food stamp angle came up, I’m wondering if that asshole Roy’s involved.”

  “Roy?”

&nb
sp; “Mika’s asshole that she’s shacking up with. He owns that overpriced grocery store by the rez. He’d make a huge profit by buying the cards for pennies on the dollar. Then he can turn them around to get cheap groceries for his store and charge out the ass for them.”

  “Oh yeah.”

“Mika’s had several of her food stamp cards go missing in the last eight months. I don’t know, there’s something about him that rubs me the wrong way.” He pulled out a couple of joints and handed one to Paco. “I’ll tell you one thing. If I find out he’s the one who’s distributing smack in Alina, I’m gonna make sure he dies a slow, agonizing death. If he did that to Chenoa, I’ll be damned if I show any mercy.”

Paco grasped his upper arm. “I hear you, and I’ll be right behind you.”

When they entered the main room, it was already packed with brothers, club women, and several hang-arounds. Music blared from the overhead speakers. “What’re you drinking?” Paco asked as they walked across the room.

“I’m not staying. I want to visit Chenoa and have dinner with her.” Steel pulled out his leather gloves. “I’ll see you later.” He and Paco bumped fists, and then he left the clubhouse.

As he raced down the road, he almost called Breanna to see if she wanted to tag along with him at the rehab center, but he decided he needed the time alone with Chenoa. He hoped Mika wouldn’t be there; he wasn’t in the mood to talk to her. She continued to insist that she and Roy live together. A few nights before, they’d had a big fight over it, and he wasn’t in the mood to rehash it.

He pulled into the rehab center’s parking lot and parked his bike, relieved not to see Mika’s car. Striding into the lobby, he went to the elevators and pushed the third floor. Chenoa’s door was slightly ajar when he got to it, so he knocked softly and then went in. Chenoa wasn’t there. He opened her closet door and saw her clothes hanging on plastic hangers. He went back in the hallway and spotted Dr. Turner. The doctor waved at him.
