“You are incredible, little one.” Cal leaned forward and cupped her breasts. “So perfect.” He pinched and stroked her breasts as he moved in and out of her core.

It looked so fucking hot. Leaning down, I gave into temptation and captured his lips, plunging my tongue deep inside his mouth. Tilting his head, Cal met my advance, kissing with as much emotion as I felt. The touch was brief, but all consuming. When I straightened, a sense of urgency welled up deep inside my core.

I groaned as I thrust into her mouth, pushing faster, harder. Cal straightened, grabbed a condom from his pocket, and slipped it on. Positioning himself at her opening, he slid his fingers over her hips and eased into her body. Within moments, he was quickening the pace, and as his groans of pleasure caused my desire to surge. I watched him as he lost himself in the moment, and knew I was quickly doing the same. She felt too good, too right. Unfortunately, I couldn’t let myself fall over the edge, not yet.

“Come for us,” I whispered to her. “Show us how good we make you fell.”

“Yes,” Cal said. “Show us how we please you.”

I pushed her head closer to my hips, filling her mouth with my large cock. She groaned against me, pushing her tongue along the underside of my shaft as she moved.

Fuck, this wasn’t working. I was too close to the edge. I wasn’t going to be able to hold on.

“Cal. . .” I whispered in silent plea.

“I hear you.” He shifted his hand, rubbing his fingers over her clit. The added stimulation was all she needed. She came hard, shivering as the force of her orgasm ran through her body. She tightened her lips around me, and the added suction triggered an explosion deep within my core.

I let out a low, throaty moan as pleasure burst through my body, sliding over my muscles and numbing my mind to everything but bliss.

It was incredible. Strong and all consuming, my orgasm made me feel weak. Grabbing the end table, I tried to brace myself as wave after wave of ecstasy crashed into me.

From somewhere in the distance, I heard Cal whisper her name as he too, tumbled over the edge into oblivion. For a long moment we all hung there, suspended in bliss, connected in a way we had never felt before. It was more than sex, it was amazing. I had never felt anything so strong, or so powerful in my entire life.

When the last ripples of the orgasm faded, Cal and I retreated. He took care of the condom while I removed her bindings.

“Come,” I said as I led her to the couch. She was silent as I settled myself and motioned for her to curl up next to me. She did as I suggested, and as she laid her head on my shoulder, a ripple of unease slithered through my system.

Cal must have sensed it as well. He returned to the couch and sat on the other side of her. “Is everything all right? Did we please you?”

“Yes,” she said. Her voice was soft, so soft I almost didn’t hear her. I hooked my finger under her chin and lifted her head to meet my gaze. “What is it, little one?” I asked. She stared at me for a moment, as if searching for words.

  “Did you like it, Cal?”

I glanced over her head at Cal, who seemed as surprised as I.

“Yes,” he said. “Yes, I did.”

“Did we please you?” I asked.

  “Yes, you did.”

  “Then what’s wrong?” Cal asked.

An eternity seemed to pass before she answered. “I think I’m just tired, that’s all.”

I let out a long breath and pulled her to my chest. “It is okay,” I said soothingly. “We’ve had a long day. Why don’t you get some sleep?”

I wanted nothing more than to take her to our bed, but knew she needed space. Apprehension filled me as I watched her stand and retreat to her room.

Was she really just tired like she said, or was there something more?

I glanced at Cal and saw my own fear mirrored in his features. I hoped we hadn’t just made one of the biggest mistakes of our lives.

  Chapter Seven

  Cal

It was a long night. After sex, Amber told us she was tired and retreated to her room. Enzo had wanted to talk about what happened, but I had no interest. The session had left me tired and emotionally exhausted. I need time to recover. More importantly, I needed time to think what we had done, and the possible implications if Amber didn’t want to be a part of our world.

Enzo was a ticking time bomb however, and I knew we’d have to talk about Amber eventually. That was why it was no surprise when the next day, after Amber left to run errands on her lunch break, Enzo approached me at the docks.

“So, what are we going to do?” It was a simple question, but hearing it made me tired. It had been one that had been asked several times over the years. On the surface it seemed innocent enough. Clearly Amber was conflicted about what happened last night. Hell, we all were. I didn’t think it was fair that I had to make all of the decisions, however. I wasn’t the fucking boss. While I loved Enzo, it was high time he stopped being so damn dependent on me.

I stopped tying the sailor’s knot and glanced up at him. “I don’t know. Why don’t you tell me?”

After last night, it was obvious Enzo wanted the girl as much as I did, possibly more. I could tell by his aloofness that he was struggling with what had happened to him all of those years ago and was afraid of it happening again. Amber was most likely dealing with similar demons, ones in the form of her disapproving ex-boyfriend. That was why, after a long night of tossing and turning, I knew that both Enzo and Amber needed to come to the decision to form a threesome on their own.

Oh, I could tell them that being in a threesome was amazing, that the last ménage relationship I had been in was an incredible experience. Societal pressure had been too much for my lovers however, and in the end we decided it was best to part ways. I didn’t want the same thing to happen with Amber and Enzo. Those two meant more to me than anyone else in the world. If this relationship had any chance of surviving, then they both needed to walk into it with their eyes open. That meant getting all of those buried feelings out in the open. We needed to confess our insecurities and accept each other for the beautifully flawed human beings we were. If we ever hoped to have a future, we needed to bury the ghosts of the past.

“What do you mean, you don’t know what to do next?” Enzo asked. “You always have an answer for everything.”

“Not this time.” I returned my focus to my knot, hoping Enzo didn’t see the truth in my gaze.

Enzo pushed his fingers through his hair and began to pace. “You’re hopeless.”

I stopped working on the gondola and stared up at him. The sun hung high in the sky, casting a halo around his head. Enzo, my angel, my everything. Why can’t you see the obvious, especially when it is right in front of your eyes?

“How do you feel about Amber?” I asked.

He seemed to consider my words before responding. “She is adequate.”

I made a sound of disappointment. “She is more than that and you know it.”

“I don’t want to hurt your feelings.”

I smiled. “We are nothing if we aren’t honest with each other.”

“She’s amazing. I have never met a woman who was both funny and sexually adventurous. She agrees with me on both politics and art, and we both are well read.”

I nodded. “We share similar tastes as well.”

“She was so perfect last night. Just thinking about her makes me hard again.”

I smiled as I stood and closed the distance between us. “And me? Do I make you hard as well?” I slid my fingers over his cock, which was already hard and pulsing beneath his zipper.

“You know you do.” He clasped his palms on either side of my face and kissed me hard. As his tongue slid into my mouth I realized Enzo had never been so passionate, so possessive, in all of the years of our relationship. Amber brought that out in him. The woman was perfect for us. I just needed him to accept her.

I slid my fingers around his hips and squeezed his ass. “You know you
make me hard as well.”

His low and primal groan made my cock jerk in my pants. “So how do we handle this?” he asked.

I raised my brow and rubbed my hips against his. “How would you like to handle it?”

He dropped his gaze to my lips. “Tempting...” He quickly kissed my mouth, sending heat rippling over my skin. “But you know what I mean. Amber is living with us, working with us. How should we proceed?” When I didn’t answer, he added, “You always make the decisions.”

I shrugged and forced my features to remain neutral. “Perhaps it’s time we start taking charge equally.”

“You know I can’t do that.” Enzo pushed his hands through his hair once more and turned away. “The last time I made a decision, it almost ruined us.”

  “But it didn’t ruin us.”

Enzo turned back toward me, his eyes wild. “I ended up in a hospital! And you ... you...” He waved his hand toward me. “You lost your job and your family.”

“But I didn’t lose you.” I stepped forward and put my hand on his arm. “Yes, you made the decision to go with me to my company party. Neither one of us had any idea that the vice president was such a homophobe, or that his son had been your former lover.” I inched closer. “What happened wasn’t your fault, Enzo.”

Tears stung his eyes as he turned toward me. “You lost everything that night.”

“But not because of you. That man went insane when he recognized you from his son’s pictures. No one had any idea he could be so violent.” I brushed his fingers over Enzo’s scar. “No one could have predicted this.”

Enzo squeezed his eyes shut. “It was my fault.”

“No.” I grasped his shoulders and turned him to face me. “You need to stop blaming yourself. For over a year you have been existing, not living. Amber makes you want to live again, tesoro. Don’t push her away.”

  “I’ll hurt her.”

“You’ll love her.” I hooked my finger under his chin and lifted his head until his gaze met mine. “Just like I’ll love her. We will care for her together.” I smiled reassuringly. “Trust me. I won’t let things get out of hand.”

He hesitated for a moment. “Do you think she would go for it? A real threesome relationship in every sense of the word?”

“There’s only one way to find out.” I slid my fingers over his cheek, covering his scar. “I think you should ask her.”

Enzo shook his head. “No, I couldn’t.”

“You can.” I inched closer. “You can do this, Enzo. Take back your life.” I brushed my lips over his. “Our woman.” I tilted my head and kissed him again, sliding my tongue into his mouth and brushing it against his own.

“You are better with people,” Enzo said when we broke for breath.

“You can do this, Enzo,” I said. “I believe in you.”

  “It would be easier if...”

I shook my head. “You, better than anyone, know how society will react to the three of us being in a romantic relationship. There is no one who can better prepare her, encourage her...” I rubbed my hips against his and bit back a groan. He was so hard, so ready. I wanted nothing more than to fall to my knees and take his erection into my mouth, to show him just how much I loved him, how much I believed in him.

“No one else can do this,” I whispered. “Only you.”

“Cal...” He threaded his arms around my waist. “What if she says no?”

I slid my hands down his neck and shoulder, letting my fingers rest on his strong biceps. “Then we respect her wishes. We give her the space she needs and console each other the best we know how.”

  “It will be horrible.”

“It will be less than ideal,” I agreed. “But we will get through it. We will lean on each other and endure, just like we have always done in the past.” I tilted my head and kissed his neck. Slowly, methodically, I worked my way over his skin, enjoying how he shivered beneath my touch.

“Cal...” He tightened his grip on my hips as he leaned his head to the side, allowing me better access.

I lingered at the base of his neck, making sure to hit the sensitive vein protruding there. “I believe in you, Enzo. You just need to believe in yourself.”

  “Guys?”

I snapped my head up to see Amber standing at the base of the dock, watching us. Slowly, I straightened and met Enzo’s gaze.

  “It is time,” I whispered.

  “But—”

“Go.” I tapped his ass and turned him around. “You can do this.”

As Enzo moved toward Amber, I forced myself to refocus on the gondola before me. It was out of my hands, now. Everything was up to Enzo. I just hoped I had made the right decision in letting him take charge—for all our sakes.

  Chapter Eight

  Enzo

Cal was so much better at this. He should be the one talking to Amber, not me. With the exception of the bedroom, I seemed to be tongue tied whenever I was around her. She was just so damn beautiful, and when the three of us were together it was amazing. I didn’t want to stick my foot in my mouth and ruin the fragile relationship we shared.

  “Enzo? Is there something wrong?”

It was remarkable how well she was taking everything. It never fazed her that Cal and I had a romantic relationship. She not only accepted it, but she accepted us. That was more than I could say about a lot of people in my life.

“No, nothing’s wrong.” I started to put my arm around her shoulder and stopped. While touching her in the apartment had been allowed, I wasn’t sure how she’d take us showing affection in public.

I lowered my arm back to my side and tried to smile. “We need to talk.”

“You’re firing me.” She put her fingers to her lips. “Oh my God, you’re both disappointed with last night and are firing me.”

“What? Of course not. Come.” I motioned back to the building.

“What did I do?” She shook her head as she fell into step beside me. “I know I’ve been a little lax around the office, but I’ve been distracted.”

  “We’re not firing you.”

She stopped several paces from the door. “You’re not?”

“No.” I motioned to the building. “Now, if you don’t mind.”

She flexed her fingers at her sides. “Then what is it?”

I could tell we weren’t going to get any privacy. With a heavy sigh, I glanced at Cal, who seemed immersed in his work. I was on my own.

“It has to do with last night.”

“You don’t want me living with you anymore?”

Why did this woman always think of the worst? “No, it’s not that. Quite the opposite.”

  “I don’t please you?”

  “Amber—”

“Look, if you aren’t happy … I can take it. I know I’m much older than you. Hell, I must seem like a grandmother in your eyes. I just need a few days to find a new place to live…”

I grabbed her shoulders and pushed her back against the building. I think I did it a little more forcefully than I intended, because her head snapped up in surprise.

“I don’t want you to go. We don’t want you to go. Your age means nothing to us, and last night was amazing, so stop beating yourself up about it.”

  “Oh. No complaints?”

I shook my head and eased my grip on her arms.

“Sorry. Guess all of the arguments with my vanilla ex-boyfriend were coming back to haunt me. He was always criticizing me. I could never do anything right in his eyes.” She let out a long breath. “If it isn’t the sex, then what is it?”

I flexed my fingers as I tried to find the right words. “Did Cal ever tell you how I got this?” He pointed to his scar.

  She shook her head.

“It was in Florence. Cal had a Christmas party at work. He was going to go alone, but I insisted on going with him. At the time, we had been dating for a year and I was tired of living my life in the closet. Well, we got there, and who should we find but my old boyfriend.”

>   “Oh no.”

This next part was difficult to talk about. I had never said anything to anyone about it besides Cal. Part of me wanted to gloss over the incident, but I couldn’t. Cal was right. Amber needed to know the full consequences of what I was about to ask of her.

“I had dumped him shortly before Cal. Thing just weren’t working out between us. I guess he still carried a torch for me, because he started making a scene. The commotion turned a lot of heads…” I cleared my throat and averted my gaze as memories of that night filled my head. “Including the vice president of the company, who was not only Cal’s boss, but my ex’s homophobic father.”

“What happened?” she asked when I didn’t continue.

I forced myself to meet her gaze. “The vice president accused Cal and I of turning his son into a ‘homo.’ We were no longer welcome at his party, and Cal was no longer welcome at the company. It was horribly embarrassing. Cal had just wanted to go, but I couldn’t leave without setting the old man straight. I wanted him to understand I wasn’t the one who had changed his son, that he was into men long before me.” I took in a deep breath, then let it out. Every nerve ending was at attention. Every muscle was tight. My life was going to change in the next few moments, and I had no idea if it was going to be for the better or worse.

“When I told him his son had dated other men before me, the vice president turned all red and shoved me hard against the wall. I blacked out for a moment, and when I came to, the old man was strangling Cal and his son was hopping around like jackrabbit.”

  “Then what?” she asked.

I shrugged. “What could I do? I loved Cal and wasn’t going to let some bigot strangle him to death. I punched the vice president in the nose.” I averted my gaze. “The man let go of Cal and stumbled back. Then he picked up a knife off the buffet table and charged us like a madman.”

“Oh no.” Amber put her hand to her lips.

“I shoved Cal out of the way just before he was upon us.” I ran my finger over my scar. “I was so busy saving Cal I had no time to protect myself.”
