Resist Me

“What do you mean?”
“They are all apart of it, everyone. I am sorry, I can’t be here for you when you take over, but promise me.” Pio coughed up blood, “P-promise me you will marry Gino’s daughter, merge the Families.”
Antony thought about Yvette, “I can’t promise that.”
“You must!” he coughed blood again and it sprayed Antony’s face, he ignored it.”You must son.” His hand dropped. Antony panicked, “Papa, okay. I will do it.” He searched for the bullet wound, he found it in his chest. “Papa, who did this!” His father closed his eyes for the last time.
Antony screamed, “Noooo!” he gently placed his father on the ground and picked up his gun. He walked outside, numb, not caring what happened to him, feeling the darkness he kept hidden, the predator he tamed rise up, he wanted to deal death to every person who came here to murder his father. He shot in the direction, he knew at least one shooter was hiding.

Yvette had scrambled up the side of the house to the roof, she couldn’t see shit, it was dark as fuck, then the lights came on. That was all she needed. She sighted her .45, there, in the trees, she fired, “Damn it.” She missed. Someone else was shooting. She looked down from her perch on the roof, and saw Antony walk into the middle of active fire. “Idiot.” She couldn’t miss or this idiot in the tree would shoot Antony. She fixed her sights, aimed, and fired, she got him. Antony looked up at her and she barely recognized him. Blood covered his arms and face, his eyes weren’t focused, it was like the lights were on but nobody was home. She saw Sal run out to Antony and pull him away. She scrambled down from the roof, jumping from one pipe to another until her feet hit the ground.
She had her gun drawn in her hand and quickly changed clips, she had no idea who was friend and who was foe, she was beginning to feel like they were all foes. Her back was pressed against the wall, she hadn’t heard any shots in a while but that didn’t mean shit. Daemon trained her well. She reached the front door of the house and ducked and rolled into the room. Yvette came up on one knee with her gun clearing the room. She moved to the next room and cleared it. When she reached the study, she sucked in a breath. Pio Carbonaro lay dead in a pool of his own blood. The window was broken, which was probably how the murderer got out. There was nothing she could do here and she didn’t want to leave her DNA anywhere, she needed to finish clearing the house. Her heart went out to Antony, she could tell he loved his father, and Antony didn’t love many people.
She moved and cleared a guest room then the kitchen where she saw Luecette Carbonaro’s body on top of the kitchen table, a knife jutted from her heart. Yvette’s eyes filled with tears, in one night Antony lost his entire family. He had nobody left. Yvette decided she wouldn’t leave him alone, she would stay by his side for as long as he would let her. She knew what it meant to lose everyone, and be left alone, to wander in a sea of your own dark emotions.
Yvette backed out and cleared the room she ran to the farthest room in the back. She turned the knob, but the door was locked, she was about to kick the door down, or try to, when the door opened and a gun pointed at her face. This time was different, she moved to the side using the butt of her gun to hit a nerve, she made the shooter drop the gun. She looked up and realized it was Sal, she flattened her hand and chopped his throat, then kicked him in his chest and entered the room. He was on the ground gulping for breath, she pulled back her punch, he would live. She walked past him. Antony was in front of a man in a chair, he still didn’t look all there. She came behind him. “Leave, I called Daemon he is coming to pick you up.”
“I don’t want to leave. I want to stay with you.” Yvette saw the muscle in his jaw tick, “I want you to leave,” he looked up at her, “Or do you want to sit in this chair next.” He faced her. “How do I know you didn’t fuck me tonight to distract me, it does seem a little convenient that after all this time you decide to give in on the same day my fucking parents are murdered in their own home.” Antony stepped up to her, “Did you plan to stab me while I slept? Was that the plan Archer?” he spat out her name. He had never called her Archer before, it hurt. She looked in his eyes, he meant every word. She backed away, hurt, and confused. “I didn’t have anything to do with this. I came to help you, and I want to stay to support you.”
“I don’t need your fucking support. My father told me the name of the person I need and it wasn’t yours. Get the fuck out of here, bitch.”
Yvette felt as if he slapped her in the face, “Bitch?” Yvette shook her head, it was the grief talking. “You don’t know what you’re saying. You are grieving and you will regret those words later.”
Antony shook his head, “I won’t.”
Yvette put her hands up, “Okay, I will leave. You win asshole. You win, but watch your back, it is obvious someone in your Family set this shit up. I will see you tomorrow, because that’s the last thing I will do for you.” She turned and walked away but kicked Sal in the ribs before she left, “BITCH!” he yelled the best he could while he continued to struggle to breathe.
She flipped the room the finger and called over her shoulder, “Already been called that once tonight it doesn’t hurt the second time, you homicidal dick.”
Yvette waited for Daemon on the steps of Antony’s parent’s house, she would have called him see where he was but she left her purse and phone at Antony’s, he could have it. He was a fucking piece of shit. She kicked a piece of metal riddled with bullet holes that fell off one of the cars. Yvette didn’t want to think too much on how unaffected she was by all that happened tonight. She should probably feel sick about the men she killed but she didn’t. If she hadn’t killed them they would have killed her. She didn’t feel bad about surviving. She did feel bad about Antony’s parents, she did feel bad about the way she and Antony left things, but she could only be somewhere she was wanted.
Daemon pulled up and jumped out of the car, Ice was next. The two men she could depend on. The two men that had become very important to her world.
Daemon pulled her into a firm hug, “Are you okay?”
“Yes, I am fine,” she looked at him. “It’s Antony who isn’t okay.”
Daemon nodded and led her to the car. Ice held the passenger side door open and she got in.
***
Antony turned from the window after seeing Yvette was safely in Daemon’s car. It probably hurt him more than her to push her away; but he made a promise to his father, and he would see it through. He had to do it this way, because he couldn’t walk into a separation with her, if he did it would never happen. She needed to hate him and not seek him out because he could only do this once.
Antony turned his attention to the soon to be dead man in his chair, “You aren’t going to tell me who sent you after my father?”
The man spit on his shoes, “Then you are of no use to me alive.” Antony pulled out his gun and shot the man in the head. That was a mercy he didn’t deserve.
Antony walked to the door and up to his parent’s room, they had to clear the house of anything incriminating, before he called the police. He went to his father’s old school turn lock safe behind a picture of the three of them. Antony looked at his picture, he was five. He pulled out the USB drive that held the Family’s information and closed the safe then pulled the picture back int place. The Carbonaro’s were rich, having a couple of thousand in a safe wasn’t strange. When the picture slid into place, he ran his hand over his parent’s faces, and let his forehead rest on the picture. He couldn’t grieve them yet, he still had work to do but when he finished, he could feel good that he avenged their brutal deaths.
Antony pulled his phone out of his pocket, “Gino, this is Antony, Pio is dead.” There was silence, “Where are you?” Gino asked. “I am at home, they were fucking murdered in their home.”
“Stay put I am on my way,” Gino paused. “I am sorry my boy.”
“I am calling the police once we clear the house.” Antony said.
“Wait until
I get there to do that.”
Antony was heartsick, a feeling he had never felt before. He felt like he drifted on autopilot, he couldn’t believe his father wouldn’t be there to talk him through things, nor would he ever hear his mother’s voice again. The only thing that still lived inside of him was his need to kill, his need for revenge, that was a living breathing dragon in the center of his chest. “Okay, I will.” He said to Gino, he hung up the phone and laid on his parent’s bed. The bed smelled like them.
Chapter Twenty
Antony watched as his parents were pushed into a nondescript morgue truck. After talking with Gino about his plans, he convinced him to not go to the police until he had everything wrapped up. He couldn’t allow another Family to believe he was weak at a time like this. Antony knew his father would agree but all he wanted to do was be alone. He wanted to bury his fucking parents and deal with the bastard who ordered them killed. The door closed on the truck and the finality of his loss hit home, he felt a hand on his shoulders, “Stay with me for a few days son.” Gino said. Antony shook his head, “I’d rather be alone.” Antony said. Gino patted his back. Antony asked a question that had been bothering him, “My father told me that you were the only one I could trust, why would he say that?”
Gino’s eyes brimmed with unshed tears, “Your father and I were like brothers. We grew up together, fought together and became bosses around the same time. Growing up, I was the brains of course, and your father the muscle.” Gino laughed. “But our time was coming to an end one way or another, and we were both preparing for that.” Gino shook his head, “But he didn’t deserve to go like this. Not like this.”
Antony nodded, “I have to go home tonight and I have to go to a benefit tomorrow, but I will come to you after that to discuss the next steps.”
Gino understood, “A quick death isn’t good enough for this scum son. Drag it out, and take pleasure in avenging your family.”
Antony turned away toward his waiting car, “It won’t be and thank you,” he said as he walked away.

Torre sat on a chair in the center of his office with Areyanna on her knees giving him a blow job. “Is it done?” He asked his capo.
“Yes, Pio and his wife are dead.”
Torre laughed. “Now, the Belmonte’s and I will finish Antony tomorrow, and I will be the new boss of the Pini Family.” Torre pulled Areyanna off her knees, her breasts exposed to him, and her cheeks red from exertion. He pulled her onto his lap and palmed her breast in front of his capo, “I am going to enjoy seeing Antony’s face before the lights go out on that pretty little bastard.”
“Why do you think he will still show for the party tomorrow? Wouldn’t he want to take care of his parents?” Torre shot his capo an annoyed look for asking a stupid question.
“A boss must not allow any weakness, none, that is the burden of being a boss, anyone you cherish could be used against you, so it’s best you don’t show any tender emotions, unless you want someone to exploit them. He will be there because he is the boss now, at least for the next twenty four hours.”
“So he doesn’t want the other Families to think he is weak?” his capo asked.
“Exactly.” Torre said and yanked Areyanna’s hair back and took her mouth in a selfish and brutal kiss. He pushed her skirt up to palm her bare mound in front of his capo. “Please stop.” Areyanna asked and tried to cover herself.
“You wanted the bad boy, I told you not to pursue me, I warned you. You didn’t stop, you fucked me on the conference room table, now, you have what you want and you are telling me to stop?” Torre pushed her off his lap, she scrambled to pull her clothes together. “Get the fuck out.” Areyanna moved toward the door, “Not you Areyanna, you are spending the night with me. I want to make sure you know I am the one you belong to, and Antony is the one you are playing.” His dick hardened when he saw her shoulders drop.

Antony picked up his cufflink and looked at Yvette’s purse. He found it when he came home. Her phone was in there but it hadn’t rung once. He was tempted to look at her phone and see who she had been texting and what they were talking about but every time he felt the urge, he reminded himself that she wasn’t his anymore. He had a duty, one that he couldn’t ignore. He had to unite the Families and keep his last promise to his father. He put on his black bow tie and pulled his black suit coat together. He looked at himself in the mirror, he would find out who killed his parents tonight, he knew it, and he would kill them, slowly.
Antony liked the cold look in his eyes, he gave his hair one last brush, picked up Yvette’s small bag, and left his home. His driver waited for him in the front of his building. He couldn’t see Daemon but he knew he was there. He could see Sal and that was what he wanted. Inside the limo, he pulled his gun out and flipped the safety off. When they pulled up to Areyanna’s house Antony jumped out of the limo. Sal’s car sat idle behind the limo. He rang the doorbell and Areyanna opened it, she looked amazing. She really was a beautiful woman, but she picked the wrong man and she was paying for it. He smiled and put his arm out for her to take. Antony opened the limo door for her and she gracefully folded into the car.
Once Antony was inside, the limo pulled off the road. Areyanna held up her phone and pointed to the back then the GPS on the screen. She was trying to tell him they put a tracker in her phone. He nodded and said, “You look lovely tonight.” and pointed to his ears silently asking if they had any listening devices. She nodded and pointed to her earrings, “Thank you Antony. You look very good tonight too, maybe we shouldn’t go to this thing tonight, and turn around to spend some quality time at my house,” she said and grabbed his phone from his pocket. She moved her hands like she was texting. Antony understood she wanted to use his phone to pass notes. “I really need to go to this event tonight or otherwise I would.” He grabbed her and gave her an open mouth kiss on her neck. He looked for the listening device. There, on the back of her earring. He moaned, “I like when you do that with your tongue. What else can you wrap that tongue around?” Antony asked then unzipped his pants, he had no intention of letting her suck his dick, he pulled open the small mini fridge in the limo and pulled out a bottle of champagne, and gave it to her, they needed the sucking noise. Her brows furrowed until she understood, she was going to suck the champagne bottle. She rolled her eyes. Antony didn’t care, her mouth wasn’t touching any part of him. She placed the bottle in her mouth and began to suck, between each suck, she added to her note. Antony played his part and said encouraging statements as if he was enjoying her attention. “That’s it, your mouth feels good there.” She passed him the phone, he read the message, “They are going to grab you and take you someplace, Torre will be there. Torre ordered your parents death, I am sorry. I didn’t know until it was over.”
Antony groaned, “Take it deeper, you can fit more in your mouth. How small was the last guy you sucked? You gag so easily.”
Antony sat back in the car and let Areyanna continue sucking off the champagne bottle, he moaned occasionally, his mind was racing. He knew it, he knew Torre had something to do with it. His father must have known it too. “That’s enough baby, I am not going to come this soon, but it felt good.” He bent down and gave her another open mouth kiss on her neck. “Fix your hair babe, and your makeup before we get out.”
They arrived at a stunning mansion. Antony grabbed Areyanna’s hand and guided her out of the limo and up the steps. The windows in the hall were open, and they could hear the soft music of a live band floating in the wind. People chatted quietly around them as they waited their turn to enter the hall. Once at the doorman Antony pulled out two tickets. “I am going to check my shawl,” Areyanna said turning her back toward him, silently asking him to remove it. Antony removed Areyanna’s pearl shawl from her shoulders. He gave her shawl to her and watched her walk away. Her dress was white and black, the top was white and hung off one shoulder, the black started at her small waist and tapered out. “Mr. Carbonaro.
He heard a voice behind him that sounded suspiciously like Daemon. He turned around and saw Daemon in a white blazer, black bow tie with black slacks and on his arm, was Yvette, her curly hair hung down her shoulders, she had on an elaborate necklace and a white dress with sprinkles of copper that matched her necklace. She looked beautiful. They looked beautiful together. Antony’s jaw ticked. “Hello Mr. MacAuthur, what brings you here?” Antony said and pulled his ear and jerked his head toward Areyanna.
“My woman and I are here to give to a worthy cause of course.” Antony did not like the possessive look in Daemon’s eyes when he called Yvette his woman. Antony closed his eyes and exhaled, “Then enjoy yourself.” He turned to walk away from them, but not before he heard.
“We will, right baby.” Antony’s steps faltered when he heard Daemon call Yvette baby, he righted himself and kept walking until he met up with Areyanna. He leaned over to the wide eyed blond cutting her off before she mentioned Yvette’s name. He whispered, “That is Mr. MacAuthur and Ms. Phillips. Have you met them before?” Antony shook his head, “No,” she said. Antony nodded.
***
Yvette played with her silverware, ignoring the conversations around her. Somehow, Daemon got them a seat at Antony’s table, it was a slow torture watching Areyanna preen about Antony, while Antony did his best to ignore Yvette.
Yvette grabbed a glass of champagne off the table, “Oh no, the last time you drank, you did not do so well.” Daemon said taking the drink from her and drinking it.
“What, then why are you drinking? You drove.” Yvette said.
Daemon gave her one of his devil may care grins, “One glass won’t do shit to me, but you on the other hand, are a lightweight.” Yvette pouted prettily.
