Turnabout

The funny thing about having two series going at once is that while you’re working on one story, the characters from the other will occasionally butt in and go, “Hey remember us? Wouldn’t it be cool/funny/wonderful if this scene you have planned actually went like this?” and then I am down a rabbit hole for the next half-hour jotting that down and revising it. Basically, it’s like having a head full of children who don’t want to go to bed so they keep complaining about needing a glass of water.
Speaking of kids, I would be lying if I said I didn’t read other books and play video games when I felt like I should be working. But in my defense, I had a very sick little boy who wanted to sit in the armchair with me and just cuddle. It’s impossible to work while he’s in lamprey mode, so reading books on my phone and playing the Nintendo Switch [Bless that device!] helped keep me sane when all he wanted to do was lay in my lap for hours. He’s slowly getting better and starting to play independently again, much to my delight—it is really, really hard to see your kid so sick that even their cognitive development freezes. [He’s doing a lot of catching up with that, but he’s doing it in record time! That’s my boy!]
And that brings us to the end of volume two. I hope you enjoyed it, and are eager to read volume three—the story is going to be quite a departure from the first arc, and I am equal parts scared and excited to outline it.
Until Next Time,

Acknowledgments and Dedications
I usually dedicate my books to my family, friends, and my readers, but this time I am also going to give a special shoutout to my son, who has been dealing with a lot in his two short years on this planet. You’ve been through so much, and it really inspires me that you’ve kept your good nature through all this medical turmoil.
