“You are gorgeous,” I told her, pulling my seat around to sit beside her.
“I’d look better with cake, right?” she asked and laughed at my stern look. “Fine. I know I can’t have cake. I just like making you suffer, too.”
“You should write a story about our romance,” I suggested.
Delaney snorted at my suggestion. “I suppose it would go something like this. They met after he fondled penis straws in a sex shop. It was lust at first sight.”
“You aren’t too pregnant for a spanking,” I warned with a laugh.
“How did you see our story going?” she asked.
“I saw you from across the room and knew instantly you were the perfect woman,” I began. “I seduced you with cake, and we lived happily ever after.”
“That was terrible,” she accused.
I chuckled and brushed my lips against hers. “Thank you for giving me a chance.”
“I’m not sure I ever really had a choice,” she mused. “You were very determined in your wooing.”
“You’re worth it, Delaney,” I murmured. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” she replied with a sweet smile.
“But you’ll love me even more when you can have cake again?” I asked.
“Exactly,” she agreed.
“Soon, you can have cake,” I assured her.
She sighed and rubbed her belly. “I can’t wait to meet our son, Sebastian.”
“Neither can I,” I murmured. “Thank you for giving me my happily ever after.”

I hope you’ve enjoyed the Love Without Batteries series. These books were a new adventure for me. When I decided to try my hand at writing contemporary romance, I knew it would be a challenge. It has also been fun. For those of you who are worried you won’t see Brook, Chelsea, and Delaney again, they will be making appearances in other books. Delaney’s cousin Bentley will have her own story, Rocking Standby, book one in the Reckless Release series, later this year.
