Mrs. Jones (The Jones Series Book 1) Page 8

It was as if my body was already dead and simply waiting on my mind and my spirit to catch up.
As the ringing continued, I closed my eyes again.
This is it.
This was really happening.
I was dying.
The ringing stopped and I moved my mouth in one last silent prayer. It was all over.
My heart was stopping and as if it was on its last beat, I opened my eyes one last time and looked in the direction of my baby.
But she was no longer there.
I didn’t see her, nor did I hear her.
But the intruder was still standing there right beside me.
As my eyes started to close, the person in black began to remove their mask.
Just before my eyes closed, I got a glimpse of his face.
It was…Santana.
